[FULFILLED][REQUEST] Taiwanese, UAE or Indian system dump for M9PW (m9+) - One (M9+) General

UPDATE: i've now the proper resource to develop Asian WWE ROM. The request is now obsolete.
-----
Hey M9+ owners,
Any Taiwanese or Indian or UAE owners who could create a system/partitions dump of their M9+ and upload it somewhere accessible, so we might start to work on a non-Chinese ROM based on that? I'm using the Chinese M9+ software and it's usable but i'd be much happier with more international apps.
(Here's a long general how-to about this if anyone with some tech initiative wants to give it a go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2450045 )
You could PM me if it's available, that would be super cool.
Thanks,
tb.

Thumbs up!!!!!!

Please support this holy initiative.

I've found that we need these files from somewhere...
European:

This is what is supposed to be the Chinese release

no. i don't have these files yet. But I'm trying to get hold of them somehow, somewhere, then check them if it's possible to flash them with RUU on a re-locked phone...might cost some too to get them it seems

Thank you so much!! Very nice! Downloading, going to check it soon.
By the way, is the Taiwanese phone's system with international/English Blinkfleed news app too and with google apps by default?
The ChinaSense is not having Google apps by default and BlinkFeed is only bringing up Chinese news services and also social plugins are mostly Chinese only, like Weibo and things I don't know because they are too China specific.

Downloaded it twice, seems like there's some issue with the zip file. It's 2 GB, the zip app says inside there's 680MB file and it's with CRC error. Could you please check if the zip is ok?
thanks!

thank you, this is ok, i can open it, mount it! going to start working on something
UPDATE: I've put together something, but it's got some issue with booting normally, it won't start the phone setup, gets stuck yet. Will need more work...

OK.
I've got an Asia WWE ROM odexed (I won't deodex it for now, as there's no modifications pending), and it's working so far so good. Needs more testing.
I'm going to publish it as soon as I've tested it enough.
Installs fine on Chinese phone too.

If we flash this Non Chinese rom will we get OTA updates in a usual way?

Short answer: At the moment it won't be possible.
Longer version: No, unlocked phones with custom recovery can't flash official OTAs that the phone would indicate as available.
Also as there's no S-Off for this phone (apart from JCard which you could get for money in some GSM shops), you cannot S-off and thus cannot modify Carrier ID of your phone (CID) and thus even if using a stock recovery for the given other CID (here the Asian WWE carrier IDs), it wouldn't flash OTAs of that region, as the ABOOT is containing the Chinese carrier ID and the bootloader will refuse to flash a zip that is signed for another carrier than your phone is locked to (in this case Chinese region).
So there's no way to get official OTAs installing automatically.
We will need to have S-Off for the phone to modify the CID of the phone to e.g. SuperCID, or any carrier's aboot firmware and other protected firmware parts can be flashed. Then with the given regions full firmware you could fully convert your phone to another regions ROM and after that receive OTAs without issue. (Still there's the question if the other regions firmware is fully compatible or not with the Chinese phone, like Radio unit is in question. It might be that we could face issues with radio firmware part, or other parts of the firmware if the Chinese HW is not exactly same as the Indian or Taiwanese.)
So the key is to have an S-Off method for the phone and then the full firmware ZIP or RUU exe available for the other region.
BUT...
What can happen is that if some ROM developer like me keeps getting system dumps for the newer ROM versions of the Asia WorldWideEdtion (WWE), we can create new versions of the Custom ROMs, and you can update from the custom recovery without issue.
I plan to update the ROM as long as I can get Asia WWE system images.

Are you referring to the UAE phone? There's no official HTC M9+ in US as far as I know. Maybe it's an Asia WWE edition? Can you screenshot the software version in Settings/About/Software Information/more?
If you just want an international software on the Chinese one, you can find a rather stock custom ROM i've just recently released here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/one-m9-general/rom-cleanslate-1-0-world-wide-edition-t3120017 with guide how to install it.

you need to return to stock to install the OTA. use the system.img and stock recovery that match your current version here I have here > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=28823
How do I restore stock system so that I can accept an OTA?
Copy the system.emmc.win from your TWRP backup folder to the folder containing fastboot on your PC (or any folder, if fastboot is in your PATH). Make sure your Android SDK platform-tools are up to date!!
Reboot the device into Download mode (adb reboot download) and connect to PC.
Fastboot flash the backup file* (fastboot flash system system.emmc.win).
Fastboot flash stock recovery (fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img)
Reboot to system, install OTA.

Correct 5.1.1 firmware for Moto X Play - Indian

I updated my Moto X Play to the Marshmallow firmware. The device came from India, so I had no trouble installing the new firmware. What I didn't check was whether the SD card was still working. I sold the phone and it's come back - can't see SD cards(4 tried) - now I'm not sure if the upgrade has killed it in some way.
I would like to downgrade it, to see if the SD card functionality returns. But I'm not sure what is the correct firmware for the model. Can anyone advise??
My baseband is : M8936_2020628.40.03.21.50R LUX_EMEA_DSDS_CUST
Product / Variant : lux XT1562 16GB P2C
I've tried : XT1562_LUX_RETASIA_DS_5.1.1_LPD23.118-32_CFC_v2.xml
But when I fastboot the first command : fastboot flash partition gpt.bin, I receive the error : (bootloader) PreFlash validation failed
Do I need to unlock the bootloader to return to an older stock? What is the correct firmware to use for this model on Android 5.1.1?
Many thanks

My main question was which firmware to flash. Do you know which one I need to use for stock???
@white43 Hey there,
I had somewhat the same issue with my Moto X Play(India) in regards to which firmware should I flash so I did some searching around in the Moto X Firmwares folder on FileFactory and it turns out on the second page when you search for India(CTRL+F) you'll get exactly what you need indeed. If that doesn't work then probably go ahead with flashing the RetAsia XT1562 Firmware.

You would like to try what? What I was stating was my Moto E has an update available to 6.0 MM. I have not downloaded it as of yet, cause I am aware there's something you need to do first in order to capture the download for redistribution. From what I understand you cannot use an already downloaded and installed OEM~OTA update for redistribution...
A little guidance from the seniors would be EXTREMELY appreciated, as this is my first thread ever... I'm looking at you squid2 lolz
i am waiting for the 7th when Telus said they would roll it out.
Not sure how they make the uploaded Firmware archives either..
No matter how many time i asked i either got ignored or hammered with some weird advice (English issue?)
And i meant the one that we all use uploaded to Mega etc.
Who is making them and with what?
Apparently no one knows and what concerns me even more is a little thing called security.
I asked so uhhh why are we not using hashes to verify the firmware ?
It's complete insanity to check hashes on some dumb app and not your OS ..that just blows me away LOL
I'm interested in putting this on my Sprint phone (XT1526). CM13 won't detect my Canadian SIM.

Could you please lend a fellow Ontarian brother a hand, and tell me where the OTA file actually is? I've had the damn thing for a week now, and I can't seem to find it anywhere to capture it! I would love to actually install this OTA...
I do appreciate your help in finding somebody who had done the work already. However the OTA that I have waiting on this phone is a slightly different one. the numbers are different 24.51.39.... my educated guess is going to be it is slightly smaller because it contains no Rogers or Telus bloatware. Wind Mobile does not have a single app installed on this phone right outta the box, So I would like to capture it before I send it off to be installed.
I have read many of your posts across multiple threads, and you are obviously quite knowledgeable -> especially in the coding Department!
Are you sure it's going to install?
Once you Root it or various other custom changes the updates will not install.
It checks if you were tampering with the phone and will deny the update.. even if you can download it.
Thanks for the kind words but i am not sure off hand unless i search around.
One thing you try doing is search online etc with the words Blur, Update, Zip, Location
Or if you have a file manager with root you can search for it.
The benefit of the full packages available is they just install on any phone with no checks.
It's also not an update but the full installer.
So i think it's possible you may download an update with patches.
So it will see what you had before and patch those files.
Which could make saving & using the update again later problematic
..especially if you root !
If you upload it publicly we can check and see if it's a full install or a patch by looking at updater-script probably.
If i were you i would keep tabs on the Firmware repositories to see if the Wind package gets uploaded.
Then you will have a full install you can use coming from most others and with the security checks removed.
If you have something that can search your system files installed you can try searching for something that
will probably have Blur in the file name and be a flashable zip file.
If you have TWRP installed i think you can just load that and look around with the Built-In File Manager.
I am eating lunch so i might look on the web soon and check back here.. good luck.
Sorry i have not done it before so maybe someone who has can speak up or you can find one of their topics here.
The OTA update file is in the device main memory in data/data/com.motorola.ccc.ota/app_download
Thanks hedimahf i will save that for future reference.
Also lenigma1too i am pretty sure if you rooted your phone then you can not install that update.
Those type of updates are risky for us that customize our phones.. be careful.. make plans to fix it ahead of time
Unless my phone was stock (not rooted) with the default recovery and an original factory locked bootloader
i myself would not even attempt to install the update.
Google it and see the many people talking about BootLoop problems
I bet there is also little difference between Wind, Rogers or Telus aside from a couple small APK's and the Modem data stuff.
If all three have the same radio band support then i wouldn't worry too much about which one to use.
Although you may end up struggling to get your phone calls and text's etc working again if you switch like that.
The Telus one i tried just had 1 extra APK the "My Telus" app and a shortcut to it on the phone.. i uninstalled it with ease.
Other than that i did not see ANY other app's installed that were not standard on the USA/EU retail versions etc
EDIT:
Oh and the BootLogo was like on Lollipop but slightly more blue.
And the Boot animation was new too.. Marshmallow Telus has "Stitches World" video.
The default wallpapers and the collection of them were like on Lollipop too.
EDIT:
My point was the Telus firmware only had "branding" with that one app.
Otherwise the word Telus does not show up anywhere really.
Also i tend to compare packages so i am keeping my eye out so i can see what is different.
If you want i can PM you if i run across Wind version.
Can this be insstalled on a stock 5.1 xt1528? if so how? thanks

I don't think you understood what this topic was about.
He was asking how to capture an OTA update.
Didi you read what was said?

Can those compiled zip files in filefactory website be installed using TWRP recovery or are they created to be installed using desktop ADB software only?

They are intended to used with RSDLite or ADB.
They are found on the big Firmware topic(s) here. (first post over there for links)
You should check out the discussion going on for help with that on those topics for best information.
Putting Firmware from on model onto another may break your ability to make phone calls
and then you would have to try and fix it somehow and it starts to get complicated.
Which is why those other topics are so valuable.. good luck.
I repeat the 2 zip's mentioned are NOT flashable-zip's. (they are just a normal zip file for storage)

A new OTA rolled out for many users.
I found it in root /cache
I am working on restoring my phone to stock and applying it.
I don't see anyone making a non-sign firmware package so..
EDIT:
I got it installed now.. it says Patch Level DEC 1st 2016 (instead of February)
System version version 24.71.4
I guess i have to re-apply a ton of changes now

Help Detirmining Which RUU to Use

I Purchased a New M9+ from Amazon Recently Listed as: HTC One M9 Plus 32GB 5.2-Inch Factory Unlocked Smartphone - International Version (Gunmetal Gray) to work on TM/MPCS
which it does very well, it received 2 OTA's to 6.0.1 from stock 5 But I am trying to get to 7.0
So far I've Tried;
RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_TMUS_MR_TMOUS_4.27.531.6 (TMob)
RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_4.14.617.6 (Unlocked/Dev)
Each as given me a SIGNANURE (yes it's spelled that way) Error and directs me to find use the correct rom
Is there a way to tell exactly which ROM I need? or Force the DEV Rom to Install?

Well after some blury eye early AM research, I have the 401 SKU which doesn't come as a self installing RUU but as a OTA/IMG not being new to this I know what I have to do to get it to 7, How ever I do have a follow up question, Can the Stock OS be changed from 401 to say a 531? just curious I'm stay on Official for now as I've finally given up on WP (sad I loved my Elite X3 best phone ever made to date)
