Sony’s flagship Xperia Z4 goes global with the humbler title of Z3+
The Verge has announced the new global phone, the global version called the Z3+ with a release date in June; Link
edit: include the Engadget link; Sony's Xperia Z3+ is a familiar flagship

Does the T-Mobile version have bootlpader unlock = yes?

I highly doubt that.

It is water proof and dust tight.....

The launching date of z4 have been delayed. Sony updates are very slow as after z2 they haven't update. The main drawback of z4 is Non-removable battery device, iIt doesn’t support Dual-sim and Battery capacity is very poor and it will drain fast.

Xperia Z4 phones launching all this week in Japan as planned. No issues reported.

Except for all the overheating...

sony's have a very good designed but screen performance not good. e.g. s6 as not good. unfortunately best device s6

Is there already a possibility of rooting/unlocking the phone?
I got my Z3+ world version yesterday... I like to root as soon as possible...
I find some problems with taking pictures under water... The phone starts doing crazy things as the water seems to activate the touchscreen in a strange way... When taking the phone out of the water, the touchscreen only can be reactivated after putting the phone in stand-by first...
Also the first time I wanted to shoot a picture, the app crashed right away stating that the phone was overheating...
Will contact SonyNL and T-Mobile for this, as I'm not really happy at the moment...

HOW TO ROOT:
First one should get root on an old firmware with @ZyZ tool.
Install Dual boot recovery.
Use latest .77 fw ftf *to create a pre-rooted firmware. You can use PRFCreator tool for this.
Get the pre-rooted firmware flashable.zip in your phone’s internal memory.
Now reboot into TWRP recovery by opening NDR Utils app
Flash the pre-rooted firmware.
Switch off the device. No need to reboot.
Now open the FlashTool and flash .77 fw – Excluding System.
Done

This won't work. The "old" firmware is usually KitKat, which we don't have on the Z3+. And NUT's dual recovery does not currently support Z3+.

No biggie - assuming SP hardware can churn kitkat, this opens up a whole play field for the brilliant devs here
Once the FTF becomes available for the other models, the forum will be flooded with rooted 4.4, customised or stock, for SP
i think .192 is fix bug for 4.3

Let's hope so. The Z family is recieving the update and the SP not. According to Sony. We just need to wait.
After I read that the E1 is getting the kitkat update I am convinced that the SP will also get kitkat. We will just have to wait for it...my guess would be july.
just wait for it. lets assume we will get the kitkat next year. ahahaha
And… we’re also excited to tell you that we’ll make Android 4.4; KitKat available for Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 – we’ll be back with more details; bespoke feature sets and timings as things progress.

i think maybe same date with t2 ultra, e1 and m2
Think we could just steal the Xperia branding, such as the themes and maybe the walkman app... and throw them into the latest cyanogen build running kitkat?
so its going to be a maybe to a no...am feeling we may never get to 4.4 and if we do it might be by Q4.
I think they're never going for 4.4 and going for the android version after that instead. Much better option because 4.4 would pretty much only fix some ram issues. My 4.3 is absolutely bug free. It already went 650 hours straight without needing a restart or having any bug.

Am more interested in 4.4 only so that Adfad666 and uberlaggydarwin(also championswimmer , eagleeyetom) get updated binarys and sources for cm/omni/aokp/pa(why no PA ?).
cause sony firmware will remain as bloated as ever
With kitkat or no kitkat it is just fine as long as the next 4.3 update would fix all the problems we are experiening for a month.
But I would kindly request any mod to close this thread to prevent massive speculation and flaming.

Correct, I have downloaded the supposed new version using Sony PC Companion, but is the old one, not 108.
Ok, i tested 108, from thread starter, and is really nice update overall.
Nice score in antutu, apps opening noticeably quicker,1-2 new apps for camera, wifi delay no longer exists.
Totally recommend to flash this.

Make sure you are on .108 FW before flashing this
Also, you mean FTF not TFT
It stands for (F)lash(T)ool (F)ile
Silly question perhaps, but I'm still relatively new to the Android world and FTF flashing - I current have EURO-LTE_14.3.A.0.757 stock unbranded Central Europe on my Xperia Z1 C6903 (flashed back in April). Customization per secret menu shows R2C (1276-0875-R2C).
I see there are some ftfs up here for R1C and R3C but none for R2C - all Central Europe, so what is the difference between zone 1, 2 and 3?
Can I flash R1C to my phone, or do I have to wait for the rollout to reach me for the latest version? PCC is showing that I'm up to date, and I'm a bit scared to flash at the moment as PCC is acting up and refusing to create a backup of my phone...?? I don't muck about without a backup, ever.
I'm not rooted, bootloaded not unlocked (I'm still in warranty so won't be doing any of that until after my warranty expires) but I have flashed an unbranded stock rom to replace my branded rom (my service provider is a good 2-3 months behind with updates, very frustrating, nevermind the bloatware!)
Central europe 1 (1276-4318) is factory installed on devices for PL, CS and SK

Maybe you should try today's official firmware and report whether they fix it or not.
I think the "No Service" bug doesn't happen if you use LTE (I might be wrong, though)
The Low Battery warning is back (IIRC there's no warning in the Baltic ROM)

how do you get the "close all apps" function? i got the newest rom but not this option?
Yes i also cant find the close all button in recent apps :crying:, my device is D6503 and just now updated to L
asking
I have a D6502 and just have update notification today, i'm in France. Anyone of you guys have battery drain problem? I heart about it a lot but not sure if my phone have that or not. Any suggestion for me plZ, should i upgrade nkw or wait sth like 5.1? I'm totally new in Androids things. Thanks!
Even I do not see Close all button on recent screen. My model is D6503 and I am using customized DE.
The close all button doesn't appear for all regions. This is not the first time Sony does this, god knows why though. On the customised french firmware, the button isn't there unfortunately. Same goes for the NFC icon, some regions have it enabled by default (mine is) and some don't. Sony's also always done that for no particular reason. In any case those 2 things can't really be considered as bugs.
I've never had the "no service bug" but I also use LTE so that may be the reason why.
The only noticeable bug is the Xreality/super vivid bug that will likely be fixed by sony in the next update (hopefully). I guess that's the reason Vodaphone hasn't approved of this firmware in certain regions
May I know which region has Close all button with Nfc icon?
I have one bug, when I move some app to SD Card and I applied some update from that app, disappear when I reboot my device

Hi, you just need to install flashtool (http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php) and download it with integrated xperifirm
It's still not clear to me if the Lollipop 5.1 upgrade is worth it compared to Kitkat 4.3 ? Kitkat 4.3's battery life is amazing, but I really would like the feature that can transfer content over to the SD card. I wish we can backport that feature from Lollipop over to Kitkat.
Does anyone here know how to do that?
Or can anyone help describe if the transfer to SD card feature works for both apps and data? This is probably the only real useful feature and a good reason to upgrade from Kitkat to Lollipop 5.1
any good words on the Tablet Z windy-pollux and Sony firmware 5.1.1 compared to CM12.1........

IMHO upgrade is worth it. Speed, stability and battery life is not worse than on 4.3 definitely. And all latest bugfixes and features of LP.
Transfer content to SD card is useless feature, cause it transfers (sometimes with errors) only .apk to sd card. Cache is still stored in internal memory, so if you planned to use this function for games, it won't help, cause apk size is usually small, and cache size is big.

It's very close in performance (especially after bloatware deletion), smooth and has Sony stuff like PSN, Dual Shock 3 and other proprietary apps and services. If you don't need then stick to CM12.1 cause it's still a bit smoother and definitely more lightweight.
Small update to 5.1.1 was certified - 10.7.A.0.228 firmware. Should contain only stagefright vulnerability fix.

So it does not matter what your preferences, because that is another story for another thread.

5.1.1 is easily rooted with latest Vroot or KingRoot.

Vroot and/or KingRoot is not a good way to root, because you have no control over it, but he has control over the system.
But the best way to move this discussion to the correct thread instead of in each story to write about the incredible benefits is the root.

[STOCK]-New ROM 32.2.A.0.305 rolling out E6853

Starting to appear in XperiFirm not sure of changelog,
So far its August security patch and there appears to be a charging optimization option now when you charge your device, it came up when I first plugged it in but i cannot seem to find it again.

It works perfectly here on a Z5 Premium Dual (E6883)
To find the "Charging Optimization" option, go to: settings, about phone, status.

What region do you have for E6883? Haven't received it yet, debating whether to flash manually or not. I started to see better reception on default rom with hone but worried abkthee region might reduce my reception inside buildings in Japan.
Thanks.
New added features:
Move apps to external SD CARD
Charging optimizations
Possible brightness fix.. (seems sharper)
More as I discover them...
@kioshi: I'm in the US but have updated through flashtool (downloaded the file manually).
Best!

Which CDA did you download and install?
the new update if done by OT takes to much internal space! so i had to reflash it, its taking about 8gb now.

Really? When I bought the z5p, I had the August updates to install and did it via OTA. It didn't take space and I only had to clear the cache.
Did you clear cache? That can accumulate quickly.
By the way, using the Malaysian firmware, you receive better reception inside buildings in Japan for e6883 model.
I got the update via OTA today.

via OTA it keeps files! flashing is always much better in my experience...
Might be a bug but I had a moment on this rom where everything froze and place holders appeared around all buttons and functions, it was a bit like talkback had been turned on. Had to do a hard reset.
I have not received the update yet. Does the "move apps to SD" work?
In France I received the OTA yesterday

Yes it does as far as I am aware
Security/Patch level is "excellent". Well done.
And to be more funny (it is for me really! I am not trying to offend or get pissed off anybody!), adding screenshot from a totally obsolete 2012 device (I know this CM, but still the difference it too bright here..)

I went ahead and flashed it with flashtool and all the apps that support being moved to SD move and work well.
9th October this was first released and they have only rolled out just about half csc's. Whats the hold up ? November will be here soon and were waiting for August security patch.... talk about sloooww
My Xperia Z5 Premium still didn't receive that patch. Factory unlocked version bought from Amazon UK.
