[Q] updating with root

I'm new to rooting and i just rooted my device yesterday. i running with the stock ROM 4.2.1 and I'm wondering if when Google pushes out the next update will i be able to update. and if i do can update will I brick my device, lose root, or will nothing happen.
If you have the stock recovery it will update like normal and kill root.
If you have a custom recovery it will download but not install, doing nothing.

ota while rooted

In my notifications there is a new system update that it wants me to download that I can't get rid of. I am rooted using the motochopper method and was wondering if I can accept this ota? Will it brick my phone? Will it unroot me? Not a big deal to me if it unroots, just need to know what will happen
I guess u wont be able to update since u have already rooted that makes a device custom only official device software firmware can be updated
U can give it a try

You can update via the Kies software, but you'll need to re-root after

[Q] Help me Please. Urgent

Hello Everybody,
I haven't touched in my Nexus 4 since mid July and now i want to put 4.3 android on it but someone told me that to flash android 4.3 i needed to flash the new Bootloader.
Can anyone help me with that, PLEASE?
Nexus 4. PA 3.60. Android 4.2.2.
Thanks a lot!!
Some Urgency

When I flashed the news 4.3 ROM, it unrooted my phone. But the boot loader was still showing it was up locked. This happened to a lot of people. I can't say if there is a fix for this, but you have to re-root when you update to 4.3. And the root keeper apps, like OTA root keeper don't work when you update to 4.3.

Root before taking Lollipop update?

Hey guys. Have a new G2 on the way. I had one a few months ago and used Stump Root to get it rooted. I never flashed any ROMs or even a custom recovery. Just rooted so I could use Xposed.
When the new one arrives do I need to root before taking the Lollipop update? Will it keep root? Or should I root after Lollipop, if Lollipop has even been rooted.
Thanks for the help!

i just tried to take the OTA thursday night and it put my g2 into boot loop. i had to go into recovery and restore previous backup.
i think your gonna need to take the update then root, i'm trying to figure out how to unroot so i can then take to OTA then root again. i want to try the Xenon HD rom afterwards
you might get lucky and it come with the update already if you just ordered it
