Soft Bricked LG G Pad 7.0 (v410) Boots to TWRP - LG G Pad 7 Questions & Answers

I was a complete idiot and accidentally deleted the internal storage on my G Pad 7.0 v410. I can still boot into TWRP. I've tried flashing stock and Skinny ROM. They are successful according to TWRP, but I cannot boot into anything besides TWRP.
All attempts to sideload in ADB have failed. All attempts to factory reset or wipe dalvik multiple times worked, but did not help. I am currently at a loss for what to do next.

Fixed finally!!!
this took me hours of searching plase hit thanks
1. if you dont have adb setup adb you can get a minimal adb here
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1S0LCuXCnnmSWh6NGJmSE1BUWc/edit
install it, navigate to program files (Or if your on a 64bit system program files(x86)
Right click and click "Open command window here"
plug in your device if it isnt already pluged in, and type the following commands pressing ENTER after each line
DO NOT COPY PASTE THE WHOLE THING EACH LINE MUST BE PRESSED ENTERED separately
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota of=/sdcard/fota-backup.img
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
exit
adb reboot
Your phone should boot into your rom now

I tried this but it didn't work. I tried adb sideload and directly used the commands in twrp's terminal command.

Worked like a charm
This saved me! I am not sure what I did wrong but this did the trick. Thanks a million for sharing!!!!

Holy crap i love you!!! My tablet decided it wanted to do a system update while i was sleeping after i told it not to. Long story short the commands worked!! and i have a working device now!

Boot : Error Certification Verify
Hi. I am new to this thread although i had used this thread many times with issues i have had. There is this one issue im having that i can't seem to figure out which im usually good at doing by following forums or threads.
A couple weeks ago i had rooted my LG G Pad 7.0 V410 LTE tablet from AT&T. I had TWRP downloaded into it and i had flashed Candy5 it worked perfectly i just didn't like how it looked so i tryed to flash it back to original stock OS. But now when i boot my tablet up it goes to the LG screen and at the top left it says Boot : Error Certification Error. This has me dumbfounded on what i should do. when i connect the tablet to the computer nothing pops up no tablet connects to the computer. I tryed downloading the drivers and everything but nothing seemed to work. I need help with this issue please!!
I didn't know where else to post this issue due to being new!!!

This worked for me, THANK YOU, however, I thought I would try to flash the LG Lollipop update to the device, it downloads, but when I go to install it, it reboots straight back into TWRP. How can I replace TWRP with the factory recovery and unroot the damn thing??

As a general rule, when you can't access recovery, or you need to go back to stock etc etc you have to go into DOWNLOAD MODE and use an official or unofficial tool to go back to stock. It will remove twrp root etc etc but at least you'll have a working device and you can start rooting again.
This is a guide for the 8.3 but it should work on yours.
To put your device in download mode turn it off, press and keep pressing vol+, then connect the cable. If the official tool isn't working, you can use lgflashtool 2014 and follow this guide (the only difference should be that the official tool download the factory image from the internet while the unofficial one let you use an already downloaded one. If you use the unofficial version, be sure to download the CORRECT firmware for your tablet. I don't know if at&t require a special version, look it up.

Having read this thread and trying everything here plus other things, I still have a bricked LG V410.
I'm using Linux. Doing lsusb shows the device, but thats about as far as it goes.
from lsusb: Bus 001 Device 012: ID 1004:61f1 LG Electronics, Inc.
from adb devices: List of devices attached
from mtp-detect: libmtp version: 1.1.8
Listing raw device(s)
Device 0 (VID=1004 and PID=61f1) is a LG Electronics Inc. Android phone (ID1).
Found 1 device(s):
LG Electronics Inc.: Android phone (ID1) (1004:61f1) @ bus 1, dev 12
Attempting to connect device(s)
PTP_ERROR_IO: failed to open session, trying again after resetting USB interface
LIBMTP libusb: Attempt to reset device
LIBMTP PANIC: failed to open session on second attempt
Unable to open raw device 0
OK.
So, it appears as though Linux can see the device, but that's about it. Interestingly, if I put the device into Download mode (holding down the Up Vol while plugging in the USB cable), Linux will not see the device.
I can also put it into Factory Reset mode using the combination of keys, but that just get it stuck at Factory Resetting on the screen. I've even left it like that overnight and it's still sitting like that the next day.
I'm open to any ideas you folks may have.

I have to backtrack a tad. Putting the device in Download mode, Linux DOES see the device in lsusb.
Bus 001 Device 013: ID 1004:633e LG Electronics, Inc.
and MTP-detect:

[Q] Hard Brick D800 - Please Help! At a loss

Any help is appreciated! First some background:
Flashed device to stock using KK 4.4 version d80020c following steps found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. Successfully rooted using directions (and ioroot25) found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKuedInhdjU&noredirect=1.
Here's where I got into trouble...Downloaded TWRP 2.7 recovery img and flashed via Flashify. Since this step, my D800 has the exact same symptoms found on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142.
- No download mode (tried many times)
- No recovery (tried many times also)
- Secure booting error
- LG detected as qhsusb_bulk in device manager
- Device is recognized as 15 different drives, one of which contains a folder named image with 79 different files being .B0X files and Microsoft Access Add-in Data files
- Upon restarting, LG logo with secure booting error, then the screen goes black while your phone is still on
I've followed the steps in the thread that matches my G2's symptoms, run ubuntu 13.1 in VM, apply usb filters for my device which is then recognized as either LG Electonics Inc. QHUSB_BULK or Unknown Device 05C6:9006 when running in VM.
Upon running command ls /dev/sd* in VM Ubuntu Terminal, all that is returned is /dev/sda /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 /dev/sda5 which are the partitions for Ubuntu, no LG.
I've tried to download and update the Qualcomm drivers, device manager tells me that the drivers were recognized, but cannot be installed and do not pass the hash check (Note: PC is running Windows 8.1).
I've spent over 12 hours on this trying to fix this problem, researched and searched everywhere. If I could get ubuntu to recognize the device, I would be able to continue on with the instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142.
Links for windows 8 qualcomm drivers, suggestions on how to get the device recognized in ubuntu vm, experiences from others in similar situation, or any with experience working with LG to get a repair done if I'm SOL (as in eMMC is fried) would be so helpful right now.
Thank you all!
After flashing recovery did you flash a patched kernel to boot stock kk?
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
I had the same, also with a lot of drives etc.
Screen is black but low backlighted?
Then try with pluged USB Cabel in Phone, hold Power button until screen is realy off, then hold the Power Up Button and plug Cabel into PC.
So I got download mode after I tryed many times
I had problems a few weeks ago getting mine to go into Download mode... turned out that the cable I was using was great for charging, but sucked for everything else. Once I switched to a different cable things worked fine and I was able to load D80010c on the device.
I was running D80020c this morning (with the D80010c boot.img to have a custom recovery) and decided to do an update. Since you can't load D80020k if you have the older bootloader I went all the way back to D80010c, updated to D80010o, D80010q, D80020c and finally D80020k. I was able to root that using IOroot and have restored everything back onto my phone.

Thanks so much for the responses! I've tried endlessly to get the device into download mode, and tried a new cable to no avail. Any other suggestions?
The URL you've linked to will help you solve your problem.
So once you power off your device, hold volume down and power till the lg logo shows, then release shortly and hold them again together till the white window with "factory reset appears", you should notice a text behind the white screen it's fine. So right now when you think it's gonna enter recovery mode the screen is gray(not black), now you connect your device to your ubuntu or whichever linux. You will notice the screen repeatelly blinking when linux is trying to automount the partitions. Figure out which device it is according to the messages it throws. (sdc, sdb, sdX)
This way you should proceed according to the instructions on the thread you linked.
d800 partitions are here
Still no luck

Thanks for your advice.
I got the white screen asking whether or not I want to perform a factory reset. If I choose No, the phone sends me right to the LG Logo with the error screen. If I choose Yes, it does the same thing. If I plug my phone into my computer while on the white screen asking if I want to perform a factory reset, the device isn't recognized and the PC doesn't see it as plugged in or mounted. I'm not sure what you mean by the timing of when I should try to plug in my device. Thanks again for all your help.

As soon as in the background of the white menu (factory reset) the secure boot appear plug it in. I'm not sure how much usb filter helps you(maybe it does) but try installing ubuntu over WUBI installer so your win remains. Or at least try ubuntu from usb stick. So you can know for sure if it's working.
Hi Sneaky E. I have the same issue you have. I'll be following your thread. If I figure anything out I'll let you know. I am also having an issue getting mine to charge now. Have you tried downgrading your TWRP?

you are not alone dude. i had the same issue since sunday and i have spent almost 46 hours already trying to restore my LG G2 F320S korean model.
i followed that instruction in linux, everything went well but then I ended up with a phone not going past the LG logo. the screen no longer dims like how it used to with the secure boot fail error. again, it stucked at the LG logo and thats it.
pressing the 3 buttons though for 5 seconds shows a white screen with 3 options and a bar code under.
but all of these options will just take me back to the LG logo.
I went to a phone technician today, and they said the doing a JTAG fix is the only way to resolve the problem because after trying to fix it with linux, it is no longer identified by my PC.
what are your solutions so far?
anyways before this issue came up, i tried to flash TWRP using flashify, it failed. then went back up. tried to update the OS via OTA then thats it.
i home someone could help us out.

if you manage to install the driver the rest should go easy.
It's weird, on some systems it wont install the driver properly(adb) but google nexus driver installs fine.

Ultra brick G2 vs980! T_T
Good night lords of XDA!
I come to you after exhausting all that I could find and try, hope you can enlighten me, you would save a new G2 that is about to become a gleaming brick:
Summary: I have in hand a Verizon LG G2 vs980, with the intention of using it in Spain. After a bad flash a ROM for a different model, you could not access recovery mode or download mode, only fastboot.
Thanks to this great tutorial, I could flash by ADB and fastboot files an official ROM for this G2, but after a correct process, the G2 restarted and only shows "Security error" before shutting ...
I still do not have access to recovery or download, and now not to fastboot. Only allows me to access the screen "Factory reset", but in doing nothing changes.
How could re-flash a recovery or something like that allows me relive my G2?
Thank you very much in advance. You are my salvation. XD
PS: I apologize for any clerical error or misused term. I do not usually write in English.

Sorry, wrong thread. XDD

[LG G2 D800] Stuck @Fastboot mode started edc_start() log error.

Hello,
So I think I messed up big time with this trying to install a ROM. So here is some background info so you guys can have a more clear idea on what I did;
First I rooted my device using Stump Root, pretty smoothly no troubles there.
Then I saw a thread here on how to install TWRP. I followed the instructions and used a TWRP for the D800 model which I got from here and did not restart the phone (if that matters) then I used flashy again for the bootloader which I got here and I used the one matching my phone version: D80020Y (KK). Then I restarted my phone and it started on a black screen with some weird log and was stuck there. So I restarted the phone and get this log:
[5220] Fastboot mode started
[5270] udc_start()
After I plug the usb cable in the computer the log appends to this:
[137960] -- reset --
[137970] -- portchange --
[138040] -- reset --
[138050] -- portchange --
Unpluging and pluging the usb cable simply appends this message again.
So a few things I should mention that I tried
adb won't work
fastboot doesn't find my device (idk If i need anymore drivers, I installed some)
can't access download mode, boots to fastboot
cant hard reset, doing so boots me to fastboot
What do I do please help me? I think I really blew on this .-.
Googled a bunch more and found a solution
So first I found this site teamandroid. com/2012/07/30/how-to-set-up-adb-fastboot-with-android-sdk/3/
All you have to do is download the google usb drives if fastboot cmd does not detect your phone. After that follow this video
youtube .com/watch?v=YEqEE9Qb8Sk and you're good to go = )

So first I found this site teamandroid. com/2012/07/30/how-to-set-up-adb-fastboot-with-android-sdk/3/
All you have to do is download the google usb drives if fastboot cmd does not detect your phone. After that follow this video
youtube .com/watch?v=YEqEE9Qb8Sk and you're good to go = )

Yes, it wasn't that easy, but finally got it working and installed Cloudy G2. Works smoothly now

Bootloop with logo, no recovery, do download mode, not recognized only charge

So a little backstory first. LG G2 D802 with CM13, flickering screen appeared a few days back, mostly in apps, and couple of days back throughout android. Since the headphone jack has been damaged for about a year now I suspected hardware issue, so in order to remove any doubt went to back to stock.
Important to note here, before going back to stock I noticed I could not get to download or recovery mode by physical buttons, but I could go in recovery through reboot app.
Anyhow, backed up data on TWPR, and proceeded to pick the return to stock option on CM13, which returned the phone to stock cm13. The flickering persisted, even in TWPR, so I believed it was a hardware issue and decided to restore back my image.
Sadly the restore failed (error message "extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR255"), instant reboot and here we are now.
Bootloop with lg and cm logo, no recovery, no download mode, no backlight, not recognized on device manager by windows (have installed all drivers), appears as charge only interface on devices and printers, not appearing on adb cmd, not showing on Ubuntu *but* using lsusb command it appears as lg g2.
Would try the “LG G2 is UNBRICKABLE NOW!” method, but there is a stubborn screw with damaged head and lack of img files (since cyanogenmod site is down) that prohibits me. Lastly I would go for a new motherboard hoping it would fix the problem, but to be frank it costs as much as a new phone, plus they are out of stock for months now.
Any help is kindly appreciated, and thank you for reading so far.

Before you try the unbrickable-method try this:

Thank you for your suggestion, sadly the output of ls /dev/sd* does not include the lg g2 compartments so the beforehand mentioned method cannot be used.
The only time the lg g2 is recognized as such is by the lsusb command, which gives the "LG Electronics, Inc. G2/Optimus Android Phone" result and within the usb settings on a VM from a windows host.

LG G2 D802 United Kingdom Open - unbrick?

Hey everyone,
I'm very new to Android development and XDA, but a few years ago I bricked this LG G2 and I don't really remember how, except that I rooted it and tried to install a custom ROM, which obviously didn't work.
I have tried a number of different guides on these forums, but somewhere or another I get stuck on them.
[HOW TO] Fix your soft-bricked LG G2 (All Variants)
I'll be very specific, something most people lack of. Okay lets get to it, I recently bricked my LG G2 (D801) by installing a ROM that wasn't compatible with my model. I fixed it by doing the following steps. This worked for me using Windows 8.1...
forum.xda-developers.com
With this one, although the device shows up in Devices and Printers, neither Fastboot nor the LG Flash Tool detect it. I have installed both the LG Mobile Driver and the LG United Mobile Driver.
“./fastboot devices” is empty.
I have the TOT file and the DLL that the (patched version of the) LG Flash Tool requires.
I have an Ubuntu 20.04 install as well as Windows 11. I can get into Firmware Update with a USB icon ("Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete. 0%." ...etc), when I turn it on normally it shows a battery made out of grey and white bars and a percentage, and sometimes the LG logo.
If you need to know anything else don't hesitate to ask \
Much appreciated,

use a usb 2.0 port, update adb/fastboot, update drivers, remove previous related devices using nirsoft usbdeview. try using a windows 7 or earlier system. can you manually get into recovery? if so update to latest blastagator twrp which should be 3.3.1.

- I was using a 3.0 port, although it still showed up in Control Panel - I’ll try with a 2.0 port today
- I installed “Minimal ADB and Fastboot” and the drivers yesterday, so they should be up to date
- I’ll use usbdeview too
- I can’t use an older system unfortunately
- How do I get into recovery?
Recovery: With the device powered off and usb unplugged, hold Volume Down + Power. When the LG logo appears, release both buttons and hold Volume Up + Volume Down.
Ok, so I got into a factory reset screen that way, I said yes to factory reset, is that the right thing to do? (@DvineLord)
ADB recognises the device, but it's unauthorised. And I obviously can't boot it up to authorise it.
Factory reset just got me back to the LG screen for a long time, so I powered it off again.
Also, when I try to change the COM port to 41, when I click Advanced in Port Settings, it just stops me with "You must have write privileges in the registry for this device in order to modify the device's advanced settings".
I can't find the right path for the device in regedit to follow these steps: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/need-write-permission-for-com1-port.577543/#post-4756991
Were you able to get into Recovery? or did you get into Bootloader/Fastboot/Download?
Bootloader/Fastboot/Download: With the device powered off, hold Volume Up and connect the USB cable.
You want to be in Recovery like I posted above. Do you have TWRP on your device?

The recovery method you said to try got me into a factory reset screen, as I stated. All the other recovery methods I saw online didn’t work, so maybe I have no recovery?
I said in the original post that I can obtain download mode. I recognise “TWRP” but I’m pretty sure I botched it up while installing it, because I didn’t know how any of this worked, 4 years ago.
Thank you!
Unfortunate you can't get ADB/Fastboot working.

Soo... what can I do?
Try to recall as closely as possible the exact steps you used to modify your device. autorec, ioroot, stump root, avicohh, stock build you were on, custom rom you tried to flash, custom recovery, bootstacks, custom kernel, etc.
Odds are you'll have to try again to flash back to stock, something which I haven't done yet.
Unfortunately all I know is that I tried to install a custom ROM, scuffed up when I was installing twrp, the ROM didn't work and now I have no recovery to fix it. Flash back to stock *is* what I'm trying to do (that's your third question/point which I've already explained in the original post).
If anyone with the same problem visits this in the future, please save this post and share your solution if you find one, cause I'm still stuck!
hope you get it flashed back to stock. make sure to do the first 5 things i listed in my initial post to see if that helps you flash back to stock. the data cable can also make a difference sometimes too.
