SOLVED: LG G2 D800 (ATT) flash tool fails CrossDL (850) to (800) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
Hoping someone can help me out here. I've got a friend's LG G2 and I'm trying to help him get it working. When I first got the device, it just booted to a black screen and when plugged into Ubuntu, it would show 15 or so drives that were unable to mount. I followed a guide to fix through Ubuntu and eventually got it to boot to where it would show a black screen with small white text indicating it was in fastboot mode. In fastboot mode, I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEqEE9Qb8Sk and eventually got it to boot showing the LG Screen. I am able to get it into Download Mode and Recovery mode (but performing the hard reset doesn't work, as when the Android Man screen loads up with the progress bar underneath it stays on the screen for about 15 seconds before restarting and staying at the LG logo screen. No matter which Tot file for the D800 I flash through LG Flash Tool, it fails after about 3 seconds stating Cross DL (850) to (800). He had tried to use an G3 Rom on the device, which is what bricked it in the first place. I've noticed that the device is showing a blank IMEI in the flash tool as well. I've also tried using the DLL posted in @hyelton 's guide (LGUP_8974.dll) and it still gives me that same error.
Hoping someone here might have an idea of what I can try next to get this thing working again.
Thanks!
Mark

Fixed
All right guys. After much painstaking searching, I've finally found a solution, thanks to THIS REDDIT THREAD. I used a hex editor to modify the first line mentioning "D800" in the TOT file that is provided along with the link to the YouTube video in my OP, changing it to "D850." I used Hex Editor Neo to do this. This should work with any LG G2 that has had incorrect firmware flashed on it when you are getting an error of CrossDL from the LG Flash Tool.

[Q] LS980 - Error: Device midel is diiferent.

Hello friends.
I'm russian. I try to write correct and clear.
I have a really hard problem with my LG LS980 - it is bricked.
I read many instructions and threads about restoring but nothing helped me.
When I flash my phone by Lg Flash Tool it stops with error: Device midel is different.
As you can see on the first attached picture the phone's model is the same as dll's model.
When I flashing it with another dll(LGUP_8974.dll) it writes CrossDL error(the second picture I attached).
Is there any possibility to ignore model verification in LG Flash Tool?
Now my LS980 has 3 modes: Stock Recovery, Download Mode, Black screen after LGs logo when booting.
In every mode there are the same devices and drivers(the same as on the Download mode) in device manager.
When flashing by KDZ for another model(D802) it get error on 49%.
I have Riff Box but there no possibility to ressurect at this moment it doesn't supports.
Help me please!

[Q] Help Needed, LG G2 stuck in boot loop!

Hi everyone, my first time on xda so please be patient.
Ive just bought a 32GB D802 from Gumtree Southampton, UK, turns out the seller bought it from Ebay and it was shipped from Hong Kong.
Was working fine but I wanted to update from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 so I could use Chromecast screen cast with it. Was working fine with my T-mobile sim but no fota update was detected so I decided to use the LG website to update. I installed the lg driver and lg support tool. The phone was detected and update about 1.6GB was downloaded but crashed during installation. Retrying the installation got the same results.
Now the phone just boots to the LG screen and sits there with the notification light changing through different colours. I have tried some videos for pressing buttons to get it into a reset mode or download mode I just cant get anywhere.
The only things I can achieve is either a black screen with the notification light flashing red, or if I holdup on volume the blue download manager (?) flashes up and then quickly turns to a screen of text, reads like eg:
portcharge
resetnfo
portcharge
stall get_descriptor 128 6 1006 0 18
fastboot: processing commands
reset
ep1/out fail nfo=40 pg0=f908700
etc
etc
I have the original box with imei, serial number etc.
I could really use a simple step by step solution but all the ones i see involve using download manager but i dont seem to able to get that going.
Help?!
i did the same thing, and got the same result. i cant get anywhere

[Q] LG G2 stuck in security error bootloop

It started out where i could only boot into fast boot and NOTHING else, but I found this tutorial where i would erase and replace all the image files and put the g2 in a sort of testing mode. So i did it and when i booted it up....it had the LG logo and the lg logo with a security error....This kept on going for a while until i did a factory hard reset and now it just does it once and then turns off. The only other thing i can seem to boot into is download mode because when i try the tot method it has this error saying CrossDL [D802] to [D800]. And so i try another method which required a kzd file, there are kzd files for everything but the d800, which is what i happened to have. I try for an hour looking for one with no luck. I try the LG mobile support tool but it goes through the first part and just gets stuck on the second part and doesn't even have a loading bar, it just says so not unplug USB. Im really getting frustrated and can find any way to make it work. PLEASE HELP!
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Lg g2 ls980 bricked (only white lines on screen )while installing recovery by autorec

While trying to install custom recovery through autorec my LG G2 sold as D802 and infact an LS980 got bricked and showing white pixelated lines and black screen.
- No recovery mode
-No download mode shown on screen
- No fastboot mode shown on screen
-Phone shows up as unspecified android device on windows 10 and connected through Marshall London Bootloader Interface
-Phone switches off and on while pressing power key, rest not known
-Flashtool doesn't recognize any device.
-command prompt in fastboot tool can erase data on the phone, but can't flash any img files
I've searched and read various forms and articles through internet. no one has found any proper solution though some people claims that hex code editing or flashing a partition and a tot file through fastboot mode may solve the issue and tried a few of them. No positive sign till now, I'm r trying out the fastboot method right now, But I'm not sure whether my phone is switching into fastboot mode or not
Can some one please guide me to get the partition file (laf.img) for LS980. ??????????
And if someone can share some serious input on this problem, it'll be really useful for a lot of users includng me.
Or even suggest some methods for trying out.
whenever i got stuck with this sort of errors i used to find my way out using reading tutorials and forums on xda. But this time i cant find a way out.

Same here, you guys burn your G2?
Looks like I'm a bit late for the party. Well i ended up my lg g2 ls980 (sold as d802) in the same condition. I fixed it by booting into qhsusb_bulk mode by shorting the capacitors and using srktool. Now my phone can boot into download mode!
(Note: this method only works if your phone shows up as qhsusb_bulk and not qdloader or something like that)

Hardbricked LG L Fino! Nothing works!

Hello,
Recently i was given a LG L Fino to try to bring back to life. Something that i was not very successful up to now.
When the device is turned on it only loads up to the LG logo loading screen and freezes there. The hard resent back buttons combination and the download mode are non operational as well. In particular the download mode shows error:
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
meaning that flashing the stock .kdz image wont be possible.
I had revised some of the possible hardbrick fixes available in the forum but non of them worked as well. Trying to scan and flash the .tot files, with BoardDiag, was also not possible as the phone was not properly recognized by my machine and i did not manage to find the exact com port. I had tried a few but with no success.
If you have any suggestions i would be very happy and thankful to hear and try them.
Thank you!
