Google removed apps from phone

Google removed 2 apps from phones.
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meld...pp-auf-Smartphones-aus-der-Ferne-1028907.html
These 2 test apps came from TippingPoint to show how easy it is to deliver an unsecure app to a phone. These apps are not dangerous.
Did they give you a refund?

I think the apps were for free. TippingPoint removed the apps already from the market but a lot of people installed these apps manually.

Interesting.. This, plus http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-20008518-245.html
Both close on the heels of the ipony Fo Gee release. Coincidence?
Haha, that cnet article has been changed now. They found out it was fear-mongering by iPhone fans. For example, a contacts application needs access to your contacts. Sound the alarm, they are stealing my data!

$25 credit + transformers for unsupported countries

has anyone booted up a new nexus on an unsupported country? what i mean is for countries where there is no play movies, books, and magazines.
just curious if i will get it.
someone is bringing me a nexus from the US to Asia.
I would assume that seeing how your Play Store doesn't support it, you won't get it. The credit I'm not sure about though.
That is, unless you use a proxy or some other means to enable it so that you can get it. You may need to permanently use the VPN/proxy to watch the movies or read the magazines though. However once Play Music is enabled, you can use it anywhere without a proxy/VPN, you can't buy songs though.
Play music isn't supported too. But since I was in the US when it launched ..I can access it here.
So I'm thinking it may work but I won't be able to buy other content.

In the UK we can't get them but, a little fix is out there to allow you to get them all.
I tried it on my GS2 and it works.
Here is the link DroidVPN
Enjoy

Hmm, perhaps though I don't believe this works for Play Movies, Books, Magazines, TV Shows etc. but I may be wrong.
Could also just use Titanium Backup to defrost apps that are built-in (Wallet, Play Magazines, etc.) and use them. Thats' what I did.

[Q] Disabled apps are not listed

Hi there,
I have a Nexus 4 8GB with the original ROM and not rooted, and I'm from Vietnam.
I have found an issue with my Nexus. As I browse through the app list via Settings > Apps > All, I can't find the app Wallet and Google Play Books. Then I open the Google Play Store app, search for Wallet, and the Google Play Store shows that Wallet is disabled. The same to Google Play Books app.
Is this an real issue with my Nexus?
Thanks for your help!
A issue with your nexus no. Sounds like those apps are not allowed/active in your part if the world.
Yeah, those apps are only available in some parts of the world at this time. There are ways to get around it though if you do a little searching

It means that Google Play Store had done the disabling and hinding these apps? Since my Nexus is an USA version.

Cm 10.1, which gapps?

Hi there, I have attached or will link to a photo of my app list, now is it me or should I not have a different calendary icon, chrome, and more googley stuff?
Just wondering as i have flashed gapps 20121212, which i thought was latest but it doesnt look like it is?
Thanks
Did you think about checking the Play Store for updates to your apps? holy smokes.
Just because CM lists their gapps package as 121212 doesn't mean the apps are fully updated in it.

God your right! I completely forgot to check for updates! Here i was looking for a reason why my apps arent updating, and all along I forgot to check for updates!
Lol. Joking aside, I have no updates. Do you think that stock comes with G+, magazines, etc because thats stock? And Gapps just doesnt contain the less essential ones?
Just because there is a CM "gapps" package doesn't mean it'll include everything that stock does. Custom ROM makers create their own gapps with whatever apps they want. You can download most of them via the play store anyway so you don't really need a gapps package to include G+, magazines, etc.
You'd be surprised at how stupid people can be on this site when it comes to obvious things like checking for app updates.

i think they consider those bloatware. and dont include them. calendar and chrome should have been in there though. if i could remember i would tell ya, but each time i try a new rom i end up hating it and go straight back to my back up image of aokp. so i dont remember what apps i had to get from the play store to complete my google lineup.

No. The reasoning behind not including it is because you can get it from the play store and those apps updates frequently so there isn't any point in including them because it makes the gapps size bigger as well as causing them to update the gapps more frequently
Gmail, maps etc are not bloat ware man.....

Those tend not to be included. G+ has been updated twice in the last week or so, for example. But they're obviously all available in the Play Store.

Depends on what kind of person you are but yeah they are bloatware. I don't use any of those apps. At least they're minimal bloatware and can be removed and aren't silly promotional apps where they're game trials that can't be removed.
I'm guessing Googles justification for including them with the phone is because when you bought your Nexus 4 it included free magazines, books, and a free movie of transformers the dark moon. So if you didn't know that, check it out

hello
please i dont get your reply much very well. how can i do that please...?
As far as I know, N9008 is a special build which has not google play service built in. So maybe you can't use google play on N9008.
Im also wondering the same thing, I have the same phone and want to use snapchat but cant...
By the way, isn't market unlocker for unlocking those apps and games that are not universally available for download? We're wondering about how to fix the google play services, it doesn't work on my chinese note3 nor does google play market.
