Ok. Truth be told, that method gets to a few more images but its missing System and is only 446Mb big.
Anyhow. This means - if this isn't a big mistake on HTC's side - they gave us a means of having firmware without getting to the System image easily.... either smart as f*ck or dumb as sh!t.

Yeah the system.img is not present still encrypted on the RUU pretty much it just gathered some files

One of the zips is always unecrypted. It was the same with HTC One M8.

Yeah correct. Although on the M8 it used to be the dzdata zip part that was unencrypted. No other firmware parts.
I'm gonna need to have a full decrypted rom.zip to look at and compare to this 7zip unpack. Would be nice to see the whole firmware laying there open and ready to be taken...

If you look correctly, your zips will show more.
PS. Same works with 4.16.401.10.

1). Well Friends will try to analyze here the procedure followed to make "root" the mobile without the Chinese "Root Explorer" and with all the rest to function properly after the procedure the "Root".
2). Now you must download the "boot image" from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HA9FSEKL and then
let's desktop Pc.
3). Basic: Before you start anything you have to BE CAREFUL, if you have not already deleted the file "dload" from the sd card!
5). It would ultimately be taken out and the sd (as I did) Did the end of the process when boot read anything and
the Chinese"root explorer" fly again ... so for sure.
================================================== ========== =============================
Follow the letter the instructions below:
1. Boot the phone into the pink screen mode (volup + voldown + power) and connect it to the PC via usb cable.
2. Your PC will find a new device. Open it, and then open folder called "image" in it.
3. Copy stock boot.img to your PC, you'll need it later.
4. Now copy my boot.img from PC to the device, replacing stock boot.img
5. Use your operating system tools to safely remove the device, then pull out the battery to get out from pink screen mode. Boot the phone.
6. While booting, the phone gets rooted. When it boots up, you can turn it off and get to the pink screen again.
7. Restore stock boot.img you saved earlier.
8. Boot the phone again - it is rooted and working properly now
================================================== ========== ===============================
Before reinsert the sd it would with a cardreader to put in Pc and delete folders: android_secure,, Android.
And so the bags otherwise they'll rebuild automatically once you put the sd.
If you do everything correctly you will have 2.3.5 rooted, without Chinese"root explorer" and the witget weather-clock its ok.
Please also stated that I have not started again after the root "Root Explorer" from the Market ONLY use another program.(optional)

the fixed "boot.img" download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HA9FSEKL
It doesn't install root explorer, and it doesnt delete cust.img, but still should give you root access. To have the clock widget just put cust.img I've uploaded earlier into image folder from pink screen mode
Hey guys! I won't fix my boot.img.
It will work that way
you put my boot.img into image folder via pink screen,
boot phone once,
then boot into pink screen again,
restore stock boot.img and that's all
the phone is rooted and no overhead at start because of those modified boot.img's.

Also the kernel boots with your MIUI port. A few issues like rather broken screen rotation but that'll be a simple fix.
Roll on the release of the source.
I was gonna say that the kconfig looked like it had support for the regular u8800.
How did you split the kernel from the update btw?

[Q] Mobilicity PD15IMG.zip for Panache?

Does anyone know if a Mobilicity Panache PD15IMG.zip exists? And if so, where can I find it? I need to send my phone in for replacement/repair.
Although I know a Mobilicity RUU exists, I can't use it because my USB port is damaged and does not transfer data, only power. It isn't a software issue because the USB connection is also not detected by fastboot as well.
I'm currently running a custom ROM, and although it seems possible to unroot the gfree method, I have no way of getting back to stock software since RUUs aren't an option. If anyone knows where I can get a stock Mobilicty PD15IMG.zip (Android 2.3.3, Sense 2.1) and would kindly send me a link, I'd be grateful.
You tried an alternate usb cable and port?

I've tried multiple cables, multiple ports and multiple computers.
Computers show the USB devices, malfunctioning, not recognized, etc.
Fastboot does not show any signs that USB is connected, as it normally would.
Glacier shows that it's charging via USB, but the usual notification for connection type (Charge only, mount USB, tether, etc) does not come up.
You can extract the PD15IMG from your RUU and flash it in HBOOT.

Are there any specific instructions on how to do it or is it self explanatory?
Self explanatory being open RUU as archive and extract, I'm assuming. I'm not at home or near a computer so I can't do it right now. If those are the proper instructions to do so, I'll try it later and report back.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk 2
I'm not 100% sure if RUU will open as archive, and if it won't - run it and make several steps in it, just don't get to the flashing part. Then look in the same folder or in %TEMP% (Windows' temp dir) for the huge .ZIP file.
Or just google "extract zip from RUU", 2nd result is this:
http://lukasz.szmit.eu/2010/04/extracting-rom-files-from-htc-android.html

The RUU does open as an archive. However, I would consider it to be useless as the files are not in a proper format.

radio.img
rcdata.img
boot.img
recovery.img
system.img
splash1.nb0
dzdata.img

tp_atmelc12_20aa.img

Looking at the files contained and the text in the .txt file, I'm guessing that this will be flashable in hboot, since that's how the RUU installs anyways. Thanks for your help, Jack_R1. I'll report back if this works or not.
EDIT: The .zip is accepted by hboot and successfully flashes. Thanks for your help, Jack_R1!

CWM backup would work if all I wanted to do was extract my own backups but everytime everytime there is a official update, the update won't work because the /system/app apk's have to be stock while mines is always updated with the latest versions so trying to find away to extract the stock /system/app apk's from the images. I thought all system.img's were a standard format but guess not.

Seems that KitKat introduced new algorithms... sorry I can't do anything about it...or wait if some other 4.4 member faces same and find a walk around

Do you mean that in KitKat there's a new way of packing in IMG files?

Thanks, so this can be used to return to full stock unrooted? Will it lock the bootloader or s-on your device, or do these have to be completed separately? What version of firmware is it 4.4.2?
Im still stock unrooted/unmodified but have downloaded a copy in for when I s-off, I assume this is what I need to return to stock for a warranty return or OTA for example.

Why is S-Off required with European CID?
If it's the stock European ROM, it should also work with S-ON or am I mistaken?
This is from the RUU OF the HTC_Europe_1.12.401 .17.Signed
The version of software in this file is 1.12.401.17 so if you have S-ON and the version 1.54.401.1 or superior you can not go back, only in S-OFF you can go back.
The version is 4.4.2 but the you can apply the updates throu OTA.
Makes you HTC Fully stock without nandroid backups
If I converted to GPE, can I use this RUU to get back to full stock ?
Oh, and has someone already tested the file ?

that's normal ... it's a encrypted zip file ... It consists seven individual zip files and only the last one gets displayed

What does it mean ? Do we need to decrypt the file to use it through 'fastboot RUU' or can we just use it that way ?

the gpe ruu files from xda are not from htc self ... all original rom.zip and/or 0p6bimg.zip from htc are signed and encrypted

you dont need decrypt this file ... you can use it with fastboot commands or as 06pbimg.zip and copy to sdcard
Has anyone tested the ZIP and can confirm it works ?
-----
Also, another little question : I am now converted to the GPE. Can I just flash this RUU through 'fastboot oem rebootRUU [...]" or do I need to go through the whole process described in this thread ?
Of course after changing CID/MID as needed :cyclops:

GUIDE - Downgrade for HTC U11 from Pie to Oreo/Nougat with S-ON

CAUTION
Do not do it if you do not have a clear vision of what you are doing: for inexperienced users it is a way to get a "paperweight", I do not accept any responsibility: you do it at your own risk!
From the post of Ryü[email protected], I share my solution to downgrade for HTC U11 from Pie to Oreo/Nougat
1. Root is required
2. If you want to downgrade to Oreo you need the exact RUU file of your phone. With Nougat, you need the Oreo OTA file and the exact RUU file of your phone. You can search RUU and OTA file in here
3. With the downgrade to Oreo, you need Universal HTC RUU/ROM Decryption Tool
4. ADB and FastBoot tool, download the latest version here
5. HTC DEV Info tool, download here
Now is the step by step guide:
Step 1: How to root?
- If you already rooted, you can go to step 2
- You can root Android 9 with Magisk without TWRP. First, You need to download and install the Magisk Manager.
+ You need file boot.img of version which your phone is running. You can get it by download the OTA file and extract it. Copy it into your phone.
+ You need to download and install the Magisk Manager.
+ After install, open it and choose install => Install => Select and Patch a file => choose your boot.img file => waiting => Magisk will create a file with the name magisk_patched.img
+ Reboot your phone to download mode, flash the patched file => reboot to system => done.Step 2: Change version
+ Open HTC DEV Info tool => click get ADB Devices => Get Device Info => Check your phone to accept root permission for Shell
+ Change version to version of your phone RUU => Save => Apply All ChangesStep 3: Flash hosd_singed.img
+ If your RUU is Android 8, using Universal HTC RUU/ROM Decryption Tool to decrypt and copy hosd_singed.img file to ADB folder
+ If your RUU is Android 7, open the OTA file with WinRAR and extract the hosd_singed.img file to ADB folder
+ Reboot your phone to the bootloader.
+ Open cmd, type fastboot flash hosd hosd_signed.img and press enterStep 4: Flash your RUU
+ If your RUU is a ZIP file, you can copy it to the memory card and reboot to download mode to flash it
+ If your RUU is EXE file, you can flash it from your computer

FYI, unfortunately, these files are no longer linked here.
This is, I think, the RUU collection.

EDIT: NVM, i used the OTA hosd and that did it using aruwizard and the nougat rom. It clearly says to use the OTA one but im a dumbass.

Ok then, i think I have found the hosd.img anyway.
But now my problem is, which one is supossed to be the nougat ruu I should use? any of them does it?
I mean, what does he mean when he says "the exact RUU file of your phone"? The nougat ruu? The pie ruu? or what?
And why you would need to have root anyway?
