[Q] Bricked Phone

I bricked the phone.Anyway, how i did?
1) I flashed B526
2) i edited cust.img but even they are same size, i couldn't copy new to /.cust_backup folder.So i deleted the original one.
3) i thought, i should give a try to Aurora 4.03 from dzo
4) I got into recovery, wiped data, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache etc.
5) I couldn't install it, anyway then i thought i have to flash B526 again
6) But it stopped around %50 and it said "update failed" but i started the phone, 2 times.
7) With root explorer, i got into /.cust_backup folder but there was only amss.mbn, cust.img with higer size, emmcboot.mbn and boot.img but there wasn't any sign of recovery.img
8) I tried to copy 5.5.0.4 recovery file but there wasn't enough space for it so i deleted cust.img again but after i deleted it, "there isn't enough space" said root explorer nothing changed
9) i deleted amss.mbn, managed to copy recovery.img
10) Restarted phone but then i realized i can't get into recovery mode or start phone normally.
11) Because Huawei blocked bootloader mode, now i have a bricked phone.I tried 5 or 6 times flashing stock rom but update failed again and again
12) Packed up the phone, will send technical support tonight.
- I tried flashing without battery
- I tried mounting with ubuntu
Nothing changed
Any ideas?

Space is not enough to flash any ROMs;
Bootloader is locked,you could not edit that sector.
So is there a special ROM that is very small and allows to edit the bootloader?
Here is the MINI ROM: (thread is from anzhi,only copy the download url.)
115,com/file/clyzgmw1
(replace " , " by ". ")
Click the "电信下载“ right besides the red link"VIP ...."
Flash it than edit the bootloader~
NOTICE: I format the whole sector ,and the file including IMEI was missing
'Cause I don't know how to edit recovery or other system files like .mbn,
so just delete the abnormal big file and you would be able to flash any ROM s

█ [HOW TO] Flash BADA 2.0 on your Wave 1 (S-8500)

I've seen many Indian & Other Country users having this problem, whenever they connect to Kies it states that their Firmware is latest or GT S-8500 does not suport initialization..........although they are running BADA 1.2
So here's your Solution
Things You’ll Need​
• Firmware - http://www.samfirmware.com [Search for your model w.r.t your Country]
• Multiloader - http://uploaded.to/file/4id4wg9q
Instructions​
• First of all Extract the Firmware package.
• Then switch off your Phone and remove sim card & Memory card before the process.
• Also, don’t forget to do a Backup.
• Then (while the phone is turned off) Hold Volume Down + Lock Key + Power Off key for a few Seconds until you see ‘Download Mode’ on the Screen.
• Now, connect your phone to your PC via USB.
• Now in Multiloader you must see COM4[Ready] or COM5 [Ready]…..or something like that appearing after connecting the phone.
• Now (in Multiloader) check LSI. Then check boot and check Full Download.
• After that select click boot and select the folder ‘Boot Files’
• Then Click on ‘Port Search’. & Then click ‘Download’
• Now let the phone restart and pull out the batteries and again put it back in Download Mode.
• After that, click ‘Amss; and select the ‘Amms’ file.
• click ‘apps’ and select the ‘apps_compressed’ file
• click ‘rsrc1′ and select the ‘Rsrc_S8500_[Country]_ODD’ file
• click ‘Rsrc2′ and select the ‘Rsrc2_S8500(Low)’ file
• click ‘CSC’ and select ‘CSC_S8500_[Country]_ODD.csc’ file
• click ‘SHP APP’ and select ‘ShpApp.app’ file
• click ‘FOTA’ and select ‘bplib_S8500Op[Country]Common.fota’ file
[ALL THE ABOVE FILES ARE TO BE SELECTED FROM THE FIRMWARE PACKAGE]
• then click ‘Port Search’ and after that Finally click ‘Download’ and Wait for the phone to Restart and you’re DONE.
• Ask if any problems
• Hit the THANKS Button if i helped you at any Moment

I didn't check FFS because it's not mentioned by the OP. Anyways, i solved it by following the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732287.

I think, DDLC2-FW is a complete FW...
So, FFS is mandatory...
You need FFS file... Otherwise Flash will not work...

I have downloaded the XELF1 firmware (Russia). Where dafuq are those boot files?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And btw...do I need to root my phone to get 2.0 and after to install a custom rom?

Hi XELF1 is update so it is normal for empty boot files
I suggest Download full firmware for Russia XELB2 and after flashing try update with XELF1
and Rooting is for android.Bada doesn't need root

I know how to use downloader V5.65, i have update the... not sure if is firmware, and now the phone look like a bada 2.0, have chaton, still the bada 1.1 is the version.

Hi.There is no bada 2.0 for small waves like 525,533.There is only bada 1.1 value pack.You can find firmware on Sammobile

I updated Bada 1.2 to Bada 2 through Kies.
Now I wish to install a custom rom. But in case something goes wrong, i should be having Bada 2 firmware to flash again. I searched extensively for Bada 2 firmware for Wave GT-S8500. I could downloaf zip from Sammobile. But while opening the file i get a mesaage "the file you are trying to open is either not an archive or is damaged". Without backup Bada 2, i cannot go ahead with custom rom.
Could anyone provide me with Bada 2 zip?

On sammobile site there are two firmware files for same pda and csc for GT-S8500. One is an Android 2 version and another is a Bada 2 version. I wonder what could be Android 2 version. Can anybody explain this?

READ FIRST THEN DO (Dont do this the first time you read this)
I have made a .zip file so that you can fix your Motorola Atrix 4G Hard OR Soft Bricked!
Steps​
1. Unzip files to a WINDOWS computer with archiving program (archiving program preferred but not required).
2. Not requred to read: READ ME!!!!!!!!.txt if you read this...
3. Install everything in INSTALL ME BEFORE STEP ONE (in bricked folder).
4. Open step one and flash me.
5. Flash 1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf with RSD Lite (it should say failed to boot 1 when finished).
6. When done go back and open step two, part one, and the Open MAIN and select 1 folders.
7. Open Main and select 1
8. FOLLOW THE STEPS AND IF YOU GET FAILED TO BOOT 0x1000 DO NOT WORRY
9. Go to part two of step one
10. Open MAIN and select 2
11. FOLLOW ALL STEPS (it should say unlocked in the top left corner when done)
12. Go to step three
13. Choose if you want
a. Gingerbread stock no root.
b. Ice Cream Sandwich stock root (YES ICS FOR YOUR ATRIX NOT A THEME)
c. Jelly Bean root (CyanogenMod 10.1)
14. Put the .zip/.zip's in a memory card.
15. Turn on the phone (Power button AND volume DOWN button)
16. Go to Android Recovery and press the volume up button
17.Make a backup to sd card! (nandroid backup)
18. Open install .zip from sd card, select Internal (if its not there its in external)
19. Flash desired firmware (ICS, Cynogenmod, or Gingerbread) and reboot the phone.
On reboot phone will startup by saying unlocked (top left corner) and it will flicker the screen and eventually turn black, BE PATIENT BOOTING YOUR PHONE WILL TAKE A WHILE ESPECIALLY THE FIRST TIME!
NOTE THERE IS A RAMFIX.zip IN THE ICS FOLDER THIS IS FOR IF YOU ARE USING THE ATRIX 4G INTERNATIONALLY (Do not flash if you are in the U.S)
DO NOT USE ON BELL ATRIX THIS IS FOR AT&T ONLY. (sorry the international user thing is misleading, it means for at&t Atrix 4G in international country
NOTE: Carrier does not matter i.e i have a at&t Atrix 4G on T-Mobile... )
Are you tech savvy just switch the roms i provided with any other one (Make sure to follow instructions on how to flash THAT SPECIFIC ROM)

and @ravilov cause more problems? you have a CHOICE of ICS or Gingerbread, I do not force you to use ICS,

I suspect he did read all the text for I had the same problem. For whatever reason, you must have a premium account to download the file, even if you do click on the text.

FAQ
I get a failed to push script/or during the first run program it can't detect my device in recovery mode!
You probably don't have the drivers installed for adb in recovery mode. It's easy though! Follow this quick guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875
Okay, so the program says "Great your Phone will do the rest" and my phone reboots into recovery, but nothing happens...wth??
Most likely the issue is that you're using a recovery that doesn't support openrecoveryscripting. (The official version of CWM and TWRP do)

Yes, just make sure USB debugging is on, and your drivers are already installed.

Cool. Yeah this should work on any device, I and any recovery with Openscript available (TWRP and CWM). I haven't tested cwm but I can confirm that it works on TWRP.

Alright, I think I figured it out. Does the location you're dropping from or the zip itself happen to have any "spaces" in the name? E.X. D:\documents\my rom\rom.zip

Okay, I just released an update that'll fix it. To update the program just open it, then hit the exit button, and it'll update. The problem was with some devices you can't push to /cache unless you're in recovery. When I'm running sense it works fine, but whenever I switch to AOSP, I would run into that issue. Fixed now

I just tried it with the new 1.2,
but unfortunately it booted into recovery without doing anything else,
it´s like I would boot into recovery manually
then after a few seconds it pops up again: Failed to push Script :crying: :crying: :crying:

Hmmm...alright. Lol thanks for being my only dignified tester haha. Okay, can you do me a favor. Download the zip I attached to this post, and run the recovery.bat file. (It'll reboot your device into recovery and attempt to push a file to your cache after a 25 second delay) and can you tell me the output. (Whether it pushes or gives a permission error) Thanks.

Lenovo Vibe P1 STOCK ROM, CUSTOM ROM, ROOTING, UNROOTING, RECOVERY

Since the original Vibe P1 thread in Q&A became cluttered I propose to start a new topic devoted only to Vibe P1 ROM and customization

Flashing with QFIL
First let your phone to be properly recognised by Windows:
1. Connect your Vibe to USB port
2. Upon popup on the phone "USB computer connection check "Media device" and "USB debugging" -
3. New disk "Lenovo suite" will appear in Windows.
4. Do not let autostart ( You can but it is not necessary as it will install whole Lenovo crap )
5. Explore the "Lenovo disk" and run "Lenovo usb driver"
6. After driver install finish reboot your PC ( not necessary - just to be shure everything is stable in Windows )
Environment preparation
1. Download and install QPST https://cloud.mail.ru/public/4yDt/6r6cDuGzK
2. Disconnect and power OFF you Vibe
3. Push Volume Up ( DO NOT PRESS POWER BUTTON ) and simultaneously connect Vibe to USB
4. If everything is OK VIBE will vibrate
5. Check your Windows Device Manager. In order to move further you HAVE TO find new serial port. Something like "Qualcomm......." It maybe Port 3 but may be other
Flashing
1. Unpack the ROM archive to any convenient folder on your HDD
2. Close ALL unnecessary programs running in background including antivirus ( providing constant data flow in flashing process is crucial )
3. Run QFIL in Windows

I suspect that NFC hardware module in P1a42 is different then p1c72 - that is the reason.

Please help me, how to use QPST ?

"P1a42_S*_ROW" ROMs are for P1a42 this is why NFC don't work on P1c72 (thanks that NFC is only one broken)!

After getting ROOT:
1. Download attaced xposed.zip (6.87 MB)
2. Unpack to internal storage download folder. And install all apk's this zip.
3. Open Terminal Emulator and type "su" hin Enter, confim superuser rights.
4. type "cd /storage/sdcard0/Download", press Enter, then type "su -c sh update-binary" and press Enter.
5. Ready!

SuperSumeProV9.1.9.apk will help you to migrate from KingRoot to SuperSU!

after getting rid of KingRoot, SuperSu Me app can be unistalled while leaving SuperSu in the system

1. Install ROM rooted with KingRoot, like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65104259&postcount=4
2. Install SuperSuMe.
3. Run, press big blue button, confim root permissions (KingRoot window will appeare) and wait till stage one finished.
4. Run SuperSU (if won't auto start) and install binary.
5. Reboot.
6. Run, press big blue button, confim root permissions (SuperSU window will appeare) and wait till stage two finished.
7. Delete SuperSuMe.
8. Ready!

I know this would void warranty. I am not worried about that either. Can I go back to stock ROM if I need Lenovo OTA or other reasons. ?

Does that mean flashing this ROM will not wipe the data? It will just install the rooted ROM on top of existing ROM without touching the Data?

So happened in my case. I came from previous P1a42 ROM and all data and apps remained untouched.

I think even warranty won't void if you flash stock ROM back!

Thanks, do you know where can I get the P1a42 ROM? I just updated to the latest one yesterday on which the rooted ROM based. Could have done proxy stuff to sniff the url!!
