Boost mobile roll call thread! - E 2015 General

Everybody with the boost model moto e (2015) chime on this thread to help everybody organize everything for the boost mobile moto e (2015)

never really saw any development for the cdma version of the moto e. maybe you guys can get a dev onboard to port what they do for the gsm version.

Any Dev need anything I can provide what they need

Could you provide me a build prop if you are rooted

I'm thinking about taking a look at what can be done to. I did some work on the xt1031 for boost before the variants were merged. Looking forward to some fun on this phone. Will help as much as I can I'm no expert but not beginner. So maybe we could get something moving forward as long we have them info we need.

Idk if the twrp recovery made for this the gsm model will work for the CDMA model.

Plus idk if there is a stock build out for the boost variant

i just read that verizon will also offer the moto e lte. the mods may want to break the moto e section into sub sections for the cdma and gsm varients so people don't get confused.

I also have the Boost variant; but I'm having issues with the BL unlock process. My # of posts prohibits me from dev thread participation, so I can't ask Q's there...and I don't want to hijack this thread. So if someone could send me a pm, I could go into a little more detail ..
Thanks!

i asked the mods if they can make a cdma section so people don't brick their devices if they flash the wrong mods and or firmware.

Cool...I believe I'm on the right track, just doing something wrong, or absent-minded...or both

anyone happen to test a non-boost/sprint SIM in these?

I'm not even positive the boost one opens... just tore a nail into the quick trying.

MOTO E 2nd gen cdma, flashed to stock gsm. NO Network
I soft bricked my moto e 2015 surnia1526 on boost and accidentally flashed a stock moto e of the gsm type to my cdma boost-sprint type. The phone works but i have no network connection at all. only works with wifi. I have searched all over for the 1526 stock firmware, which i keep hearing isnt out yet or wont be leaked, any direction?

They ALL have sim card, it is located on the side of the phone behind the "binder ring'. The back is NOT removable. The "binder ring' pops off from around the phone. When looking at the screen, the notch is on the lower left hand corner. A finger/thumb nail will be enough to pop it off. Flip it over, locate the notch and use your nail to pull/pop it back towards you. you'll see the card slot on the side opposite the power/ vol rockers.
Peace,
Sox

its not the sim card the messed up its that i flashed a stock firmware for moto e 2015 1522 or 1524 i think.. how ever it erased my cdma boostmobile radio and i have no network connection because its no longer a cdma phone, i believe this is a verizon variant or tmobile.. how do i get my boost mobile network running again?

apologies, my post was directed to philiptrip and his issue of attempting to remove the back

I don't own the phone but I've been deving for awhile I could probably provide support and I know an xt1031 dev as well as soxtober (hey )

He speaks the truth, folks...Bout an hour and a half we were chatting and he walked me thru the process of unlock, root & recovery flashing my XT1526. Used my freshly installed Ubuntu Gnome OS. It took 4 pushes thru Moto's unlocker page, but it finally worked..
Thanks a bunch, D_S!!

[Q] Will Moto Xoom be flashable

Does anyone know if the Moto xoom will be flashable to boost mobile or metro or cricket like how the samsung tab is
Great question. I don't know the answer but the question is can any Verizon 3G work on Sprint/Metro(same company). You don't want Cricket. My quick look makes me think the odd's aren't great. But I think the EVO was fully ported to MetroPCS.. so maybe.
I don't think a verizon phone can work on sprint and vice versa. If metro works on sprints networks then a sprint phone could be flashed to work on it. It has to do with the wireless technology in the device. Plus, even if it was the same, I doubt sprint would activate it.
Sent from my EVO using XDA App
I doubt it honestly
My research showed that in some markets Metro has a program in place for reprogramming Sprint and Verizon phones for use on their network. However, I suspect they won't do it for a product like the XOOM.
I hope that someone figures it out. I am partially hopeful, I just bought a 11,000mAh battery for my EVO so that I can tether for hours at a time. Testing it right now with everything turned on, streaming tversity video to the phone for hours and barely drained the external 30%.
I'm honestly fairly ignorant on the matter so if I sound stupid give me a pass..
But..
If the hardware could do it, isn't it 'just' a matter of which 'radio firmware' is being used? (with regards to porting to a different carrier)
Motorola Xoom
Hey everyone, hows it going. First I would like to thank everyone here for all your hard work on these new android devices and helping people like me figure out problems to how to get these devices working.
I just got back from the store where I picked up the new motorola xoom. I've noticed that its on verizons service, but would like to know if anyone can point me to the proper direction as to how I can get this device working on crickets network.
I have a droid x, droid 3 all working on cricket data, mms and all working. next task is to get this xoom working on crickets data... any idea's as to where I can start off...
I'm not finding any informaiton about this device at all for flashing. I found someone who claims that they can root there xoom, ... its a start, but not really wanting to do that without consulting the professionals first.
please note that this is not my first go around with custom roms or rooted gingerbread roms. also please note that I'm aware this rom is the hunnycomb rom.
any help is much appreciated .... sorry about the spelling and thanks for all your help in advanced.

I wanted to go back to stock with my note 3 after root and safestrap. OTA would not work even flashing back to stock through Odin left behind custom symbol at the Samsung screen but updating through Verizon worked with no issues no faild updates. while doing this I noticed a series of numbers and letters going on during the Verizon update process. with no real knowledge of how anything works admittedly I feel like the correspondence during Verizon update via computer may help someone who knows what to do with the information

[Q] Taking xt907 to London - Advice.…?

Hello all,
I have an XT907, bootloader unlocked, running CM11 very well. I am planning to go to London for a week in February, and I would like to buy a micro sim to use while I am there. I have scoured the threads trying to make sense of the international/micro-sim situation, and I am totally lost. Here's what I need to know:
Can I take my phone to London, pop out my Verizon micro-sim, pop in an O2 sim and use it without making any other changes? (I did this a couple of years ago with a jail-broken iPhone and it worked beautifully...)
Sub-questions, which can be ignored if the simple answer is "yes": do I need to call Verizon to get them to unlock the phone?
Are there GSM issues, which I tend to ignore, since my carrier is Verizon, and, if there are, have they been patched in this rom?
Thanks in advance. Hoping somebody can answer.

This may take care of all your needs. Use cwmr 6046 or philz 6079 only. Backup your current rom before doing anything.
Keep in mind that even these recoveries do not save all your partitions. Some partitions are only on your phone. /persist, /modem & /firmware are the most important ones NOT saved! Try it out. If you do not want to delve into RSD lite & PC only hacking, stop. All you need to restore our latest xml via RSD is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391641
Go
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246081
Subsitute the op's twrp bu: http://yadi.sk/d/oufUHo_F4Ehfh for Avst_ZaYAC_MODsmXBIN.cwmr.zip
You will restore it rather than install it.
And fit it into my other steps in Post 17
Using philz v 6097 cwmr, which will restore twrp format too.
I cannot recommend twrp anymore.
You will have full vzw 4g & I think the star of the setup, the droid razr widget should not break your 4g. more on DRW here You may need FireFox to get the translate link to work.
Do test it all out & save it w/ philz.
Messing with the "select radio band" (3 dot menu) with the hidden app "phone info" [also known as *#*#4636#*#* from the dialer] will break 4g /modem & result in 3g to 1x only. Feel free to do anything else from Phone Info.
Once a combination of partitions are broken RSD is the only fix.
Just restore to the ...94 xml and then the partitions not handled by our recoveries, get fixed and a restore via philz puts all right again [some from RSD & most from the recovery].
Latest Philz zip http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition
or here flashable from custom recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2567603
Wow. Thank you SO much for the detailed reply.
Unfortunately, all of this sounds very complicated to me-- I have never messed around with radios/modems, and really love the way my phone works, here, now, in the United States.
I take it that your one word answer is, "no, your phone will not work if you bring it to Europe and pop in a sim..."?
If so, given that I am only going once, for six days, I might just pull out that old iPhone and limp along with that.
Again, I am so grateful for the time you took to point me in the right direction. Sorry to be such a wimp.

I will search for tutorials about flashing that baseband-- is it a simple enough process? Will it affect how my phone works on Verizon when I return?
Also, for others trying to figure this stuff out, I found this: http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android by one of the XDA members which is not exactly a "for dummies" tutorial but does begin to outline the issues.

She Gained that baseband by downloading the Stock Rom with that Baseband.
I have to get back to my home computer to get that link.
Its a Dev Site where u can download all the Stock roms for our Phone.
Oh my gosh!! I have that baseband already. Phew! One less thing on my "to do" list.
Okay, last question, I promise. I have read, and think I understand, the blog tutorial about enabling GSM. But it sounds from your post like I do not have to edit my build.prop at all, if I am running CM11 and have the baseband you mentioned. I apologize for repeating my question again and again, but I am a little slow.

In this Particular case you don't need to do that.
Enabeling GSM and Editing Build Prop is Mainly for Tmobile USA and AT&T or any USA GSM carrier.
But on some CM11 it may be required since it was not made for GSM, most newer ones are though.
That's where u look for the GSM Fix thing.
The only thing you May have to hunt down are the info for Data if it doesn't Auto install itself from the Euro SIM.
International SIM normally Require a PIN and it will Auto install a SIM app to correct its Data Settings.
Thanks! Based on your helpful clarification I will leave it alone.

5.1 Coming to the Turbo in mid June, according to a VZW engineer

For the ones who are lazy in reading comments, this is the reason that this guy gives for the delay:
"Verizon delays on latest smartphones are due to Nationwide HD Voice. We want to make sure Software updates for HD Voice service is acceptable and does not impact voice quality. Verizon is the only company that has nationwide HD Voice in the USA. AT&T just has most metro cities here and there. T-Mobile and Sprint are way behind"
:good:
P.D. Maybe now is the time for the Maxx's users to complain about not getting 5.1 as well as the Turbo.
Doesn't the iPhone 6 have HD Voice already? I wonder why they didn't need to delay its release by months so they can test it.

From the same guy:
AC 1.0 is not just network related. The unique situation Verizon finds itself is having its original CDMA voice network.. Hard for us to dance around between LTE and CDMA to support VoLTE due to best signal strength in different environments. So with each device update, there is usually a few Qualcomm patches to improve that transition and try to cover all possible calling scenarios our customers may face in our network. And also supporting XLTE new bands. Some device updates turn on a new LTE band on a phone that might have been dormant in an earlier software build.
And Qualcomm is not perfect, so some times when they improve on thing, they break another. So my job and many others in Verizon is to double check all software changes our devices take in... Hence the delay

Take "mid-June" with a grain of salt.
All that means is it probably won't come BEFORE then.
Note the Google + post has been deleted which was referenced in the op. So, actually there is no date promise anymore...
Yeah, there's a lot of built up anger towards Motorola and Verizon (should be directed towards Verizon), so any engineers/spokespeople who publicly post even good news at this point will get lots of backlash for broken promises, lack of past communication -- and rightly so. They need to learn from this instead of running away from it.

Nexus 6 is near identical internals.
VoLTE works fine sans camera and I'm certain that is software related.
So I'd take the VoLTE cause for the hold up with a grain of salt too. Especially since Verizon was so willing to ship it last year when it was clearly broken and would have shown in testing.

Oh, the time travel paradox. I haven't brushed up on my Robert Heinlein lately, but if I remember correctly, it was something like...... If I had bought a Tmobile phone in the first place, I wouldn't have this problem, but I didn't, so I must go back to a time where this Sprint phone does not exist in my current personal multiverse and instead I choose to buy a Tmobile phone thereby eliminating my need to find assistance in the form of a helpful answer to my question. But I have to assume that I'm never able to travel back in time where your answer would apply, otherwise I wouldn't be typing this message, because the problem would have solved itself before ever existing. Got it! Let me stuff some banana peels into my flux capacitor and see how quickly I can generate the required 1.21 Jigawatts.
In the meantime, any Non Marty McFly's that might be able to share any working knowledge of a solution?
Thank you much.

Removing all jokes you can try to flash tmobile firmware and try on your sprint phone the phone theoretically should boot but since very few ppl use carrier much about sprint and tmobile bootloaders and modems are unknown so they are either similar or very different [emoji29] this is why many devs don't support carrier models of Samsung because of all this **** so all i or i am sure of it anyone would say is try and hope you can have basic functions working if that happens then if some bugs exist you can ask devs who by the way work in their free time to help you fix it
Primary suggestion is still sell sprint and buy tmobile phone i am actually serious
Or download g928t latest firmware from sammmobile flashing instructions are provided on download page download programs which they say are needed and see the video of how to install there is everything mentioned in detail but dont come complaining if phone does not boot

Thanks for the helpful suggestion. That's about what I was thinking. My biggest concern is that I flash the Tmobile rom, it doesn't work and I can't flash it back. If I was sure I could still flash back to stock Sprint as a last resort, I'd be more comfortable taking the chance. Admittedly, I was surprised that the phone would unlock for Tmobile in the first place. For the longest time it was either CDMA or GSM and not both, so this is a new one for me.

I have a Sprint S6 Edge + that has been unlocked and I'm using it on a Tmobile network. Is there a way to load the stock Tmobile firmware on this phone to essentially make it a Tmobile phone instead of Sprint?
It is a stock SM-G928P, running stock Android 6.0.1
Thanks.

Today when I watch video on YouTube, I found a site of remove network lock from Samsung Galaxy. You can have a try.
