[Q] galaxy s4 - disksize - 16gb i9505 - disk full - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

trying to figure out where all my diskspace has gone. i9505 should have 16gb, and I know samsung eats up alot in system memory. but I should have 6.3 gb free, however I have 300mb.. Disturbring image from storage analyzer. Do I need to re-partition with Odin to get the 16gb back, then start all-over? I have a very few number of apps installed, and now insufficient disk space as I always do.. trying to "release" the 6.3 GB of storage that are somehow hidden.
(I run Cyenagenmod 4.4.4)

Hi mate
Did you check your nandroid backups?????

i am unable to install applications on internal memory and all applications are automatically installed to SD CARD and internal memory also gets low every time.
i want to know more about phone, about its ROM,flashing etc....
Plus also give me advice what to do to increase memory..
i tried Link2SD but it failed every time to CREATE LINK and gives errors because applications are not in internal memory and i can't move them too.....when i click on MOVE TO PHONE it shows successful but after that it still remains in SD CARD.

[Q] Note 3 Miscellaneous Files taking up 29GB - rooted Jelly Beans Rom

Hello,
I've done a big search to solve this issue, but none that helped. I just bought a Note 3 32GB version Verizon, and I rooted it immediately and added Jelly Beans Build 4. I've barely put anything into internal memory. I look at the Storage and it says I have 29GB used up as Miscellaneous Files. (To which I clicked on and it at most lists 50mb of miscellaneous files) I then used DiskUsage and scanned and saw that my internal SD card only has 2493 MB of storage total. There's some type of issue with it that doesn't allow me to use up all of my 32 GB of internal memory. Could it be the root or rom preventing it?
How do I fix this?
Now that I think about it deeper. I did use Safestrap to root it and I had to create my own partition. Could it be the fact that I just created the partition with the default settings (as in the amount of memory used)? Should I have raised this to 32gb? I think Default was 2.5GB.
To further try to solve this issue, is there a way to increase the amount of data allocated to this partition? Or is there a way to copy everything in this partition to a new one that I would create at 32GB? I would rather not have to restart and redownload everything again, etc.

Your problem seems to be that you need to read a little more - you are not in the correct forum, this is NOT the Verizon Note 3 forum!
Oh I'm sorry, I Thought this was a general Note 3 forum. And I thought this would be a general Note 3 issue, but I guess it seems to be a rooted and ROM issue.
Your search failed you. Put the rom in the stock slot and your memory readings will be correct. Otherwise, ignore them.

Safestrap does not show your free space correctly, it has to do with the way Safestrap creates its partitions. If you use a file browser or switch to your stock ROM you will be able to see the correct amount of space. If you want to maximize your free space and if you want everything to show correctly the only way to do it is to flash the ROM to your STOCK slot. There have been numerous posts about this and I advise you search a little more. Anyways, it isn't anything abnormal and it's perfectly fine. Not something to worry about.

[Q] Question about phone memory

Hello everyone,
I put my questions in bold so they're easier to find and address, I'm not trying to shout.
So, I'm getting ready to create a rom slot using Safestrap but when trying to free up memory for a new slot, I'm having trouble understanding where some of my memory went.
I opened up the application manager to view the usage and it shows I have 5.42 GB of space available (see Phone Memory attachment).
This seems to be consistent as when viewing the available memory in windows, it shows I have 5.41 GB of 9.61 GB free (see PC Memory Analysis attachment).
So the first question is where did 6.39 GB of my 16 GB device go to get down to only 9.61 GB left (I can only assume Android's OS)?
I went into explorer to find out what's taking up all the space and what I can remove but when I set my computer to read all hidden files, selected all the folders and then click properties, it can only seem to find 1.5GB of data on there rather than the 4.2 GB (9.61GB total - 5.41GB left over - 1.5 GB found on the folder) it says I'm using (see Explorer Analysis).
Any idea what happened to this 2.7 GB or so of data?
Also, does anyone know the minimum space I should reserve on the internal memory for the phone to operate or is that already considered in the 7 GB or so of Android data? I know when you run out of disk space on the OS partition of a hard drive, you see a significant speed decrease and I want to make sure I don't do the same on my phone. If I can fully fill up the disk space without any performance decrease, that works too.
Thanks, everyone!

[Q] Why does Phone storage show as 9GB when using custom ROM?

I have rooted and am currently using a custom ROM (Cyanogen-mod) and when I plug it into the computer, it shows the total phone storage as 9GB. From online research, I've found out that the Google edition of the S4 has at least 12GB free from the 16GB built on storage. My question is that since I have installed a custom ROM which uses a lot less space, why do I only have 9GB available out of 16GB?
Also how could I free come space up to get more storage?
Thanks for all the help!.
It's partitioned by default and its tricky to change, the Google Play Edition's partitions are built differently so there's more free space on that specific device, it is possible to re-partition the regular S4 but it's not something i would recommend, it comes with risks..
There's this guide for the i9500 variant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2429309

[Q] [A3000-H JB4.2.2 Call_Fuse] Working memory swap?

Hi all,
I'm running a Lenovo Ideapad A 3000-H, JB 4.2.2, kernel 3.4.5, running the build A3000_A422_011_022_140127_WW_CALL_FUSE (with phone function unlocked).
The pad has root, made with Framaroot.
Unfortunately, the internal memory on this sucker is only 2.4 GB and shrinks down to 1.8 GB when fresh from flashing with the Call_Fuse build.
The external SD card is a Class 10 chip, 16 GB (14 and change effectively).
I was trying to install the BG:EE on it to play (ah, the memories!), but it's a no go. The Play installer dumps the app to the internal memory, which is insufficient. There is an option in Settings > Memory to have the external SD as the default write memory, but still... the forced dump to the internal prior to installing the app. To cut to the chase - horribly annoing and prevents me from enjoying this classic RPG masterpiece. Is there any EFFECTIVE method to swap my external SD and the internal memory? I've seen some options to modify the vold files, but the risk of ineffective, tedious hassling with the pad (and potentially bricking it) is too high.
Anyone?
Heeey guys,
The same problem here, did someone find a salution or should i through this brick out?!
Thanks,
