[Q] Getting error on lollipop updat software update - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For a few weeks now, I have been unable to update my galaxy s5 to lollipop 5.0. I the download the update perfectly fine, but when I go to install it, it loads for a minute then says error. Now my phone was rooted, but one day it became unrooted. I tried to reroot it but it didn't work at all. I have a feeling when it unrooted, it didn't fully unroot? So I may have done something wrong here.. if anyone has similar issues and knows what may be wrong can you please help me!! I have reset my phone many times and nothing works!!

[Q] Can't upgrade S5 to lollipop

Hi guys,
I'm having an issue upgrading my S5 to lollipop. After I download the update, I hit install now and then the phone reboots.. then it immediately boots back up and gives me an error saying there was an error installing the update. I was previously rooted and I unrooted with SuperSu.
Is there an easy way around this or should I just upgrade through odin or something? If this is the case can someone quickly link me to a tutorial to do this? I'm a little rusty.
Thanks,
Ota
I had same issue I used Verizons Firmware repair then I did the update thru Verizons Firmware updater on my pc then work perfect, I kept getting update fail with the dead Android then I used this method and worked, I was rooted so I unrooted first after Uninstalling busybox.

[Q] Android update failed! Verizon Bluetooth update

Hey guys I'm on 4.4.2 and I used towel root to root and I did the process to flash a rom. Well when I was rooted I unrooted on Supersu on the stock rom and I updated. Today I tried to update to Verizon's OTA to fix bluetooth and I can download it OTA and install it. It boots into recovery boot and then it loads. It shows the Android guy laying down and the Error wording. When the phone boots back up it says Sorry, there was an error updating your galaxy s5 Verizon. It's been doing this all day and I really want to update to Lolipop.
Same Issue, any solutions?
I have the exact same problem, and under similar conditions. Towel Root worked for a while, but an updated unrooted my phone, now TR doesn't work anymore. So, I'm back to stock, with this Verizon bluetooth update failing everyday for what seems like an eternity.

N9005 OTA Update failed

Hi, I've downloaded the lollipop OTA firmware update several times now and it fails every time and tells me to try using Kies. I'm away from home for an extended time and only have my phone and tablet for the next few weeks so Kies is a no go. I've noticed the firmware upgrade fails on 27% every time and have googled the issue but only found a similar issue with the KitKat update (never had this issue) my phone is stock though I did root and unroot using TR a while back.
Could somebody point me in the right direction as googling leads to many mixed answers and usually from sites that aren't as credible as XDA.
I'm on 4.4.2 currently and baseband is N9005ZHUENJ1 if that helps.
I have same problem too
Plz someone help us
Bump, anyone?
Try clearing the Data and Cache on the two Software Update entries in Settings> Application Manager > All. Do the same for MDMApp, LocalFOTA, Downloads and Download Manager.
Then reboot and try the update again.
I remember having this issue on my S5 with an update, this solved it. (But I don't know which specific one was the culprit.)

Thanks for the reply, trying it now.
No luck, had same 27% error again.
Got to a PC and it worked first time via Kies. I suggest anyone else with issues try this.

SM-G870A Failing to Update Past 4.4.2

Hey everyone!
I've got an interesting predicament here. A little back story: a while back I installed TowelRoot, and then Xposed Framework. Everything was kosher until I got an OTA update (I believe the NG3 update) and it killed the root. No problem, I'm fine without root. But now that Lollipop has come out, I want to update but can't. My buddy applied the same root, but did not do Xposed. The difference between our phones after that OTA update: mine says "Custom" with an unlocked padlock at the Samsung boot screen; his does not.
I read in another thread that someone took their phone to Best Buy and the guys at the Samsung booth were able to fix the problem because they can pull updates and apply them via USB. So we went there yesterday and they had no problem getting Lollipop on my buddy's S5 Active. Mine, however, would not take the update. The Samsung S.M.A.R.T. tool they use on the PC was saying that "my device is running an unauthorized operating system", even though I have never flashed a custom ROM.
When I go into download mode, the Knox flag does not appear to be tripped. I've also performed a clean factory reset with a data wipe and that still didn't allow me to update. Whenever I try to update, it downloads the entire 4.4.4 update (which needs to be done first, before the 5.0 update) and it starts to install, failing at 25%, without hesitation, every single time.
I've attached a couple of screenshots that I hope will help. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Have you resolved this issue, if so, would you mind sharing how you did it. I've been combing the net for a few days trying to discover what is going on and your issue appears to be exactly what I am experiencing. I've read about flashing back to my stock firmware using Odin but I cannot get into download mode, when I try and get there, the phone only says "recovery reboot" in blue small font on the top of the screen and reboots.
Thanks
Ladies and gents, I apologize for abandoning this thread. I forgot exactly how I got to get the phone to update, but if I recall correctly, it had to do with me putting the phone in download mode, downloading the original firmware and using ODIN to flash it. Afterward, the "unlocked" padlock symbol disappeared and the phone was able to get the OTA update from AT&T.
I have since moved from an LG G4 to a V20 and that is what I am currently playing with. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (which T-Mobile replaced my G4 with when the touch screen stopped responding). I was quite stoked to find out that there is a way to root it and (seemingly) unlock the bootloader, so I'll be toying with that this weekend to see what I can do. I'd love nothing more than to just wipe that Samsung-ified Android and install a vanilla Android or CM.
Good luck to anyone who is still trying to fix this issue. Again, my apologies. I'll dig through my archives and see if I can piece together what I did to get it going again. I still have the S5 Active. Best phone by far. It's a great backup phone for when the new stuff goes kaput.

[Q]Serious update problem with my LG g2... Help me out please...!!

I am using Lg D802.For many days, I tried to update KitKat to lollipop but I always used to get the message "phone is not registered yet". So finally 2 days back I updated to lollipop using LG pc suite. Message on the system said that the phone is updated but unfortunately the phone has stopped working now. The touch does not respond at all and Clicking something selects something else. Even now there is no signal on the phone. Is it a soft brick..?? The main reason to update to lollipop was I was unable to host WiFi hotspot from my mobile.. using apps like shareit or superbeam I was able to send everyone everything but no was able to send something to me.. And now this has happened. Please suggest what to do..?? Whether I should install lollipop or go to KitKat.. Please note that hard reset did not work and again I am getting lollipop only.. Plus now my phone is displaying only 10gb whereas it has 32gb internal in it... Help me out.. Please tell me how to install and which one to install. I am worried that my phone might get bricked if not done properly..
