update to mi 7 from mi 66.55.11.00

Hey all,
I have a redmi note 4G (global) running 4.4.4 (whoa, outdated as hell). It is running mi 66.55.11.00 which upon some research turns out to be a custom mi (and a bad one because it give u a popup ad on wifi every from minutes). I've checked, the phone is original.
I download the mi 7 images from mi's website and upon trying to update the phone, it failed (surprise surprise).
Can anyone please suggest another way to go about it.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I have the same issue. Did you find a solution for this problem?
Thanks

It's fairly simple to "port" I guess, as far as I know the process consists of: downloading the MiMax ROM and copying over the hardware files from our Kenzo MIUI-7 ROM, of course before any of this your either going to need system dumps or a way to extract the firmwares, and even then you'll need to put together an update-script to properly flash it all, and then you can start testing stuff out to see what works/dosnt and then you rinse and repeat until everything works, I've done this before for another device and although it did boot, there were countless issues and the entire process is archaic and pointless tbh, building from source (but we can't since MIUI is closed source so id say just wait for MIUI8 lol) would be easier in some sense since having the source upfront helps you have an idea of wtf is actually going on compared to the guess work that is copying & pasting libs and stuff from /system/etc, my point is, just wait till June 28th or whenever were supposed to have MIUI-8 since hacking together an M based MIUI-7 for our device based on another devices firmware with "similar" hardware would just be painful and I'd feel sorry for you if you had to do such, then again I could be awfully wrong and the entire thing may work (it is quite possible) relatively easily considering the familiarity of the hardware, I just wouldn't expect it to be bugless, but someone please do prove me wrong, I'd be happy.

1. I have ported Roms for Micromax canvas music, Micromax unite 2. They were mtk. I have themed complete rom for LG l 3 e405. It was Qualcomm.
2. Flashing will be block based. If what I have planned will work.
3. We have no other better option to get marshmallow right now. And I live in present.
4. Without trying I can't know if it is a good idea or not. What I will loose? Few hours. What many will gain? May be a stable marshmallow miui 7.
Be positive.

[GUIDE] Step-by-step tutorial for building CM13 on the Redmi Note 3 (Kenzo)

As I had a couple of days off work this week, I thought I would spend some of the time figuring out how to set up Ubuntu as a build environment for Cyanogenmod 13.
While I have built AOSP for the Nexus 4 in the past, I have never built Cyanogenmod before. I had a look around and found a few tutorials, but none were comprehensive and none of them worked successfully without producing any build issues, so I thought I would figure it all out and write it up as a comprehensive guide.
The guide provides a step-by-step tutorial which will take the reader from installing Ubuntu through to having produced a successful nightly build of CM13 for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Kenzo.
As it is a little big, I have written it up as a blog post:
Setting up Ubuntu to compile Cyanogenmod 13 (CM13)
I would be grateful for any feedback from more experienced developers. My intention is to modify this environment to produce a build for the Special Edition "Kate" version of the Redmi Note 3, which includes the different Radios present on that device. That, however, is a task for another day!
Thank you for the information. Current offical redmi note 3 miui is on mashmallow android maybe we all could compile the marmallow miui function like volte, switch off one sim in dual sim, schedule switch off and switch on phone and auto call recordings and maybe finger print shutter camera to cm13

Create custom ROM for a fake Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G

Hello everyone,
Somehow I ended with a Fake Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G with (obviously) different hardware specifications.
I've extracted the ROM from the fake one to keep it safe.
The only hack I've done till now is modifying the EBR files and the scatter file according with those ones for extending the space available for installing apps.
Is there any way that I can MOD an official/original version of the ROM for my fake version?
Thanks to everyone in advance!

Port of low-ram OS is possible?

Hey guys, Redmi 2 is a warrior and survivor, but in the last years using the phone ar really hard.
My model have only 1gb of ram, just for youtube and whatsapp, but sometimes the phone .... make me crazy.
it's possible make a port of idk, KaiOS? or Redmi GO system? Just to make the phone more stable and good working.
or some tips? Already tried some modules, apps for blocking secondary apps and deep sleep.
Yes, it is possible and ez, for go system just enable some stuff in build.prop
For KaiOS tho, no, it is a close-source operating system so no possible way.
If you have a Redmi 2 1GB i recommend Android N maximum for Android version because Android Oreo still isn't optimized to this very day. The best Android N ROM i used is AOSP-CAF so try it, it is good for a daily driver device.
