[VIDEO HOW TO] Use Custom Launch Phrase on Nexus 6 like Moto X 2014 - Nexus 6 General

I missed this feature from my Moto X 2014, thought I'd try creating a custom one & it worked; made a quick video tutorial how to customize it.

Awesome, now I'm curious if it works with other devices since seems to be a Google Now feature. I'll have to test when I get home.

Anyone notice that it forgets the custom phrase randomly? I've gone in and delete my voice history but it still seems to forget my custom phrase pretty often.

I installed it using root explorer. Obviously the keys are smaller than they should be but it looks really good. Auto correct is working great as well.

nice can u post up a screen shot wondering how small it looks lol
Ill have to do it when I get home. It isn't overly small and looks pretty sleek. Ill post a pic a little later when im done work. You should just install it and check it out. I can almost guarantee its not to small for the tab. It actually helps me type better. Its as wide as the whole screen just not as tall as the stock keyboards but yields no issue. I actually prefer the size.

So now we got the keyboard... how about porting the whole system now?
No seriously, what can we do with the system.img from the sdk?
I'm downloading the SDK now. I'll pick apart as much as I can. I want to see if that fancy new launcher will be an easy port. I'm going to try the keyboard out on my Tab and myTouch 4g now.

The launcher is on the market already. I tried it last night and it works fine. I still like LPP more though.

Multi-Window in the works!!???

Hey all,
Saw this post on Reddit. This would awesome and make the N6/9 experience that much better....If its true of course. Thoughts?
http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus6/comments/2mqcpl/regarding_multiwindow_feature_for_the_nexus_6/
i believe you can use the xposed module multiwindow feature if you root your device.
There's no xposed on lollipop. It doesnt work with art.

I used this module on my N7 back on Kitkat and it didn't work very well. Most of the apps I tried crashed right away. Hope a native solution works better.
Yeah, it's pretty much inevitable that Google would implement this feature in the near future, given the size of their Nexus 6 phablet, in addition to all of their Nexus tablets. They can't let Samsung have all the glory.

I'm sure that's what happened but when I install this it removes the touch less control option from the settings screen, but also won't show the voice app.
Here's some screenshots to show you what's going on..

In case you guys missed it http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-enable-multi-window-mode-android-t3121483

It's about time this get's added by google. It's the one feature I've missed from my samsung devices. Could this be ported to lollipop or is it exclusive to android M? Thanks again for posting this. Wish google would've mentioned it more in their keynote, etc
Glad it worked for ya...

Sweet. Anyone on Chroma use this? Any issues?
Oh, just realized Android M is an entirely new OS. Never mind
Should have posted in m discussion

This is nice!! I would like to be able to long hold on the window to move it.
Something tells me that multi window didn't get mentioned because I don't Think multiwindow will be ready by the final release. It will most likely be in developer settings. Although nice to have is not as functional as Touchwiz. For instance I can't really watch YouTube and use hangouts. Sure I can but as soon as I responded the video paused as soon as the keyboard popped up. I hope when it is release in prime time even away from development settings would be to minimize windows. Back to youtube, if I were on Facebook and wanted to listen to a YouTube video I can minimize the window barely taking any screen real estate and continue doing what I was doing.

Thanks man! Got it enabled. Pretty cool. Hopefully they get this working properly by the time M releases, but I highly doubt it. With a screen the size of the N6, this should have been done in L, but it is what it is.

Yes it is. I'm glad they are developing it though. As our phones get bigger and bigger, it just makes sense. If they truly want tablets to take the place of laptops, this is the right direction. It's extremely buggy though. I thought scrolling inside each of the 2 apps was smooth, but as soon as you try to switch apps in either screen, it gets really buggy.
I know this is a somewhat old thread but I just attempted to flash this through multirom and seem to be in a boot loop now. Know how I can fix it?

You mean like Snapchat? Text over a screenshot or drawing like in MS Paint? Just use a picture editor. Go to the Play Store and search for picture editor and find your favorite one. Dozens of options.

true ,but i was just thinking maybe there was one specifically for screenshots. (like the one in note and huawei mate phones)
but i think there is nothing like that for the nexus xD
i will stick to the editors like you suggested.
thanks for the feedback.

best choice trust me , owned galaxy's (s2/s5 note 4)
jumped to the nexus series in 2015 got nexus 6 loved it up until i noticed it had terrible banding, still used it for about 8 months , recently got the 6p (thankfully no banding) nothing beats stock android on nexus phones.

I use keep. I share the screenshot to keep, then write with the pen tool, and then share the note... which is shared as an image. Pretty effective way IMO if you don't want to have any extra apps lying around. You have to tap the share icon twice (one for the screenshot, another one after doodling) but you're gonna have to do that with pretty much every app.
