It's about time this get's added by google. It's the one feature I've missed from my samsung devices. Could this be ported to lollipop or is it exclusive to android M? Thanks again for posting this. Wish google would've mentioned it more in their keynote, etc

Glad it worked for ya...

Sweet. Anyone on Chroma use this? Any issues?
Oh, just realized Android M is an entirely new OS. Never mind

Should have posted in m discussion

This is nice!! I would like to be able to long hold on the window to move it.

Something tells me that multi window didn't get mentioned because I don't Think multiwindow will be ready by the final release. It will most likely be in developer settings. Although nice to have is not as functional as Touchwiz. For instance I can't really watch YouTube and use hangouts. Sure I can but as soon as I responded the video paused as soon as the keyboard popped up. I hope when it is release in prime time even away from development settings would be to minimize windows. Back to youtube, if I were on Facebook and wanted to listen to a YouTube video I can minimize the window barely taking any screen real estate and continue doing what I was doing.

Thanks man! Got it enabled. Pretty cool. Hopefully they get this working properly by the time M releases, but I highly doubt it. With a screen the size of the N6, this should have been done in L, but it is what it is.

Yes it is. I'm glad they are developing it though. As our phones get bigger and bigger, it just makes sense. If they truly want tablets to take the place of laptops, this is the right direction. It's extremely buggy though. I thought scrolling inside each of the 2 apps was smooth, but as soon as you try to switch apps in either screen, it gets really buggy.

I know this is a somewhat old thread but I just attempted to flash this through multirom and seem to be in a boot loop now. Know how I can fix it?

[Video] Cyanogen uploads video of CM6.1 running on G2

http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...enmod-video-of-cm6-1-booting-on-cyanogens-g2/
he says that its still worked off a temp root, so we still need to find a perm root for it to be on there over a reboot
Did you see how fast that was running? I mean I don't know what it is bout the G2, but the thing flies. I really like the move of this. Hope to see more, and that's only with temp root for now.

I'm guessing it took a fair amount of work to get CM6 up and running on the G2... so I'd say it's a step forward. There are steps between the beginning and the end.

What I'm doing is bringing in all the necessary modifications to *userspace* to build from source and support all the hardware. This is not simply pushing files around. There are a lot of changes for 7x30 required since much of the audio and video output works completely different than what we (and AOSP partially) currently support.
It's not a step forward towards a real root, but a step forward towards having something you can build from scratch and do whatever you'd like with.
Because of cyanogen's work, when the real root happens we will have his amazing rom to use =D

Those are the people I like to call ass-amistic... They see no glass at all, they see no good, and only some negative. They argue about everything and think they are right about everything...
I think that summed it up! Oh and great work Cyanogen
May not be progress towards root, but it's progress towards having a stable rom as soon as a permanent root is available.
Keep up the good work Cyanogen.
They just hate the fact they have nothing to contribute to "forward movement" whay cyan is doing is far more productive than "why I don't has root yet"....
I have nothing "real" to contribute besides my gratitude and as soon as the "code guru's" who make these phones so much fun do crack the root issue I will buy my G2....

ICS DEV User Feedback

I saw a lot of complaints, so thought that there should be a feedback thread, for the time being for members of Incredible boards to use this.
Here, if you can, state what alpha version you are running, if not the latest, with your concerns, joy, etc.
And the Developers of ICS can see this and make improvements on what needs to be worked on and what is working perfectly...varying from one user's phone to another.
**If mods feel that this is not needed or a complete utter waste, then you may delete it. Thought I'd help the people out by posting this for people trying out the ICS for the Incredible
^^
I think this is a good idea. However, I would remove the link to the dev thread in the OP. I think many "unknowledgable" users will simply click on that link and we may be right back where we started.
Just my 2 cents worth . . .
I agree with taking the link off of the page to lessen confusion. That said it was awesome to see ICS boot up and whatnot on my INC!!
Removed.
Also, people can post alpha version links here so people arent asking for it there.
Alpha 3 ran pretty good, less lag, imo.
I really want to see the camera functional on it, but that may take time....?
This would probably be better suited for the general discussion forum because you are looking for feedback on the development and not actually providing any development in this thread.

Please use this GAPPS...this was posted by "tiny" himself.
http://db.tt/OJKTipDb
I used this same one.
One thing i forgot to mention....you may get a random restart using Alpah3 w/ the GAPPS flashed...but it should be stable after that.
Alpha 3 works quite well for me for it being such an early build. It is slow, but using ADW and turning off all animations helps a lot. Google apps seem to run the slowest. XDA, Words With Friends, Facebook, and Twitter run as smooth as usual. Another little trick I've just discovered is to use a different keyboard. In some apps, it's more responsive than the stock keyboard. I hated the red lines under each word when using the android keyboard (can be disabled by turningg off corrections/suggestions), and sometimes it just could not keep up. Thumb Keyboard 4 works great though.
I have seen a few random reboots, but have noticed they only happen when I search for something within an app. If i search for someone in twitter or an app in the market, it sometimes reboots. Not always though.
So far so good. Ive been using it for 48 hours now and am loving it. I can't wait to see what it can do with everyhing functioning properly with hardware acceleration.
One request: is there a way to get the on screen back/home/running apps buttons to work so we can see what its like? That would be pretty cool to try out

I'm not that eager to get them. I'm perfectly happy with whatever I'm given. I'm just happy to be able to use it at all.
Good things come to those who wait.
Edit- I don't know if that thing about ROMs needing time to "settle" is true or not, but it seems like this one has finally settled. I haven't had a reboot in hours, and though it's obvious there is no acceleration, everything seems to be runningg very smoothly. Its not fast, but it's not unusable.
This work has really come a long way in such a short time. I'm enjoying it very much.

Your very welcome I have been using it all day.
Its kinda a taste to what I think android will become. The same Dev has a few other floating. Apps. Like a calculator.
definitely cool enough to drop a buck and a half on. I played with it for a few minutes and then moved on but when the time comes and I need a couple browsers at the ready Ive got an app for that!
If any developers are interested in how he's doing it, he's registering the app as a service and drawing to the notification layer which also allows you to intercept (and act upon) touch events.
Not saying this app is doing it, but beware of apps that request those permissions, they could in theory log every touch on your screen.
Chrome Beta does much better

I'm sure we'll see kitkat eventually for the inc. I've been tinkering with it just a bit myself. At this point Evervolv has a kitkat branch for the inc, but it is not in a buildable state. Stuff is still changing so fast that there's not a lot of point in digging into it real deep just yet.
I'm very glad that Google have given the opportunity for low ram devices to Run KitKat.. I hope Pons or Tiny will make KitKat rom very soon..Inc is still breathing !!

HTC Incredible "S" have got an unofficial build of CM 11 which gives Android Kitkat ahead of CyanogenMod's official release. Incredible "S" got just a little bit of RAM more than the dinc.. I really hope that some creates a rom for dinc soon... Come on !!

They're not the same SOC so they're not that similar.
Also, this point sounds like begging or on the borderline of demanding. This device is nearly dead. There are nowhere near the resources there used to be.
With that said, the evervolv team is working on KitKat for similar devices. Inc support will probably be added once we can get it building.

I'm more than impressed at the simple fact that tiny and pons are considering spending time on this ancient hardware.

Be glad the developers want to still work on ROMs. You could just buy a new phone if you want to not deal with bugs. Battery life is going to be best on this phone on CM7 or Sense. That's how it's going to be. The newer OS'es are a lot more resources intensive just to run things.
While asking is kind of pointless, if this could be made into a reality, a useable one at that, my god that would be awesome. Also, on an unrelated note, do you go to OSU?

The KitKat builds are bigger than the previous versions, so there's not much room left in the /system partition.
You'll need the GApps Core from here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=9199
The core ones will give you just the basics to save space.
The full GApps won't fit on the small /system partition on our phone with the size of KitKat.
Thanks. So simply all i have is Playstore as an app and other stuff. The rest i will have to download right ? What about Google Experience Launcher (which replaces stock launcher) and other stuff like Google Keyboard ? In the official build will i be able to have the full G-apps ? Just a little clarification needed ? :silly:
So this is not the official release right ? I am really excited about this !! I just tried it out, it is damn snappy and super fast ! Great jobs devs !!
A few small probs i found are the videos are being recorded but is not shown in the gallery, And the external sd card is not shown (and cant access it)
By the way, dont think i am always complaining, i just saw some errors thats it, i hope they will be fixed on the official release..
Job well done Devs !! You gave a new life to my old play around device :highfive:

No, it comes unrooted. Also, as a precaution to make sure it doesn't accidently try to force encrypt the tablet, as I think a lot of their builds do.
