Samsungs Sidesync 3.0 for all Android devices - Android Software Development

Dear comunity,
I love samsungs sidesync 3.0 features. And for me it would be great to have sidesync on all android devices or at least a similiar application with the same features.
Is there anyone else who have the same interest like me and in the best case is able to develope/port an app like wanted ?
I have an Galaxy Tab s and an oppo find 7a. So i have at least one samsung device.
An alternative is to have a touchwiz based rom for oppos find 7 and other devices.
The problem is already known from htc sense features....the features and apps we want are integrated into the brand's framework so that the app only as standalo is not working.
Please help me with developing, good suggestions or at least lets start a list to demonstrate that this feature is more than just a feature to play , it is useful and needed
Greets

I'd be interested

New section: BadaOS

I propose creating new section about Bada Operating system
So far is only one device: Samsung Wave [s8500] but next two will be avaible in november.
Samsung made 'Bada Cup', so we can also win 300,000 USD
I hope, that we create a lot of good aplications

Are there any developers out there that are already or plan to hack around with Bada OS?
I think that it should great idea, Few users are browsing this section of forum.
Adding it will take second and I think, that users want creating on this platform will be find. Software on bada is creating in C++ and is familiar to Android, also on Linux code. On page Samsung we can find SDK for developers.
Sorry for mistakes, but English isn't my basic english.
EDIT:
Samsung Wave is selling in 40 countries so soon will be more people interess this platform
My wave is coming tomorrow, but I'm already searching for customization. A new section dedicated to Bada OS would be great as I didn't find much information on the net about this new platform.
Android on wave
I have got my wave s8500. it will will be cool to install android 2.2 on it. Has any one found how to remove samsung bada os and install android on it ?
anyway its a cool phone.
So, here is some people, which want section dedicated BadaOS. Please make it, because this page is the best support for phones in the internet. Samsung wants create more smartphones with BadaOS, so here should appear more interesed people this platform. If we will support BadaOS, I'm sure more people will choose with this platform because now it is new platform, and people worry about support of this.
I hope we will consider positively my request.
Sorry for my English.

ya ya even i need a section for bada OS....its a high end platform for games and applications so it would be great to hack it .
I would give a thumbs up for this suggestion Btw, where to go to get a Bada developer? Need to hire one if you are going to enter the competition
my invitation to our agreement with a new section just for BADA OS ........ for my samsung gt-s8500 ....
Bada OS
I also support the idea of having an own section for bada .
Samsung S8500 for the way .
+1 Count me in.
I'm writing something about BadaOS and Mac OS X compatibility but decided not to continue. It's just not mac friendly.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Samsung Wave, speed and screen, for its price, its already a good phone.
I bought it knowing that it will not work with MAC, I just hoped that there was at least Google wireless sync. Good thing I can easily fire up boot camp and use Windows, but...
Samsung Kies, is not that easy to use. Took me hours to make it work under Windows 7. All drivers installed but won't connect to Kies. The only way to make Kies detect the Wave is format the sdcard, then I'm good to go in synchronizing my contacts. Needed to export my contacts from Google then to Kies then to Wave.
Haven't tried my calender entries as I leave that to my HTC Desire.
So to those planning to get the wave, its a great phone as I said, super AMOLED, 1GHz, 720p video recording, great camera app to name a few, but....
Don't expect that it will work with your mac (even windows) out of the box.

So for now, we're not going to have a section for BadaOS or the Wave. Reasons:
1. There's only one device that supports it and we haven't heard from Samsung on whether there will be more
2. The development story is unknown
If either of the above changes, we'll certainly reconsider. We have to be selective when adding new devices to XDA because the site is already packed.

Source: Engadget (I'm not yet allowed to post links, so i can't link you the exact site )
if only it wasnt so BADa
Samsung has announced two bada phone:
1.s5220 (wave 2)
2.s5330 (wave 2 pro)
both of them have bada and both coming in august so s8500 is not alone
And what do you mean by "The development story is unknown"?
Thanks
Hi
+1 for a Bada dedicated section.
Two more Bada phones should be out soon by Samsung and I think the root for development is in C++, which is more complicated than simple Java programing, but, from what I've red on it, really rock solid and fast.
I have to add that this forum is my n°1 source of information for my mobile and I'm waiting my Wave to arrive soon.
Have a good day
Bada
Sold my good old HD and have now a Samsung Wave.
Looking for themes, apps, android and other cooked ROMs.
Yes, a Bada Section would be great.
i have samsung wave and i hope it will be supported by xda
I would also like to see some development besides the Samsung appstore. Cause it's fun!

[Q] Nexus 7 and multi window support

I was wondering if there are any apps or mods that give the Nexus 7 similar abilities as the Galaxy Note II and it's multi window function. I'm not concerned with having to root as I have already done so for USB access and some of my other apps. Thanks guys and gals.
Seems someone asks this every few weeks. Short answer- no, not possible at this time.
But since nobody comes to xda for the short answer.. here is the long one:
Once upon a time there was a great team of developers who wondered why they could not use a multi-window interface on android. They set out to make that a reality. CM saw the wonderful work they were doing and pledged to support it in their releases. Across the land there was peace and tranquility as developers happily set out coding their ROMs to take advantage of the new functionality. But the evil lord "G" (who totally promised not to be evil) was angered from the ancient land of android's origin and with his great omnipotent voice decreed that no subjects of his kingdom shall be allowed to use the new functionality. The CM developers and those from the cornerstone project were given no choice but to abandon the functionality that they had honed to near-perfection. Shortly after the decree was made by the evil lord, another royal empire "S" (who totally didn't steal that fruit company's designs) convinced the evil lord "G" that they could use the new functionality on specific applications that they themselves would create.
The royal empire "S" then created an entire framework similar to what the cornerstone project was working for, to support their custom applications. All of the functionality of the empire's functions is deeply embedded in the core of the "S" created roms.
Nobody that I know has been able to port the samsung stuff onto any device not made by them. Sorry, hope you enjoyed the story!
:silly:
good story
story
Can u please make that into an epic mmo.
Makes wanting TabletUI sort of pointless, doesn't it?
There are apps that work in window like floating browser, floating youtube, super video, air calc..etc.

Looking For Tablet ROM With More Complete S-Pen Support

Hello. I have written an app that helps to improve the accuracy of the S-Pen. It works only on Note phones because Samsung has compiled some S-Pen device driver interfaces out of the tablet ROMs. It is not clear why they did this. I have asked Samsung but gotten no replies. I have confirmed that parts of the kernel code is commented out in the open source kernel code (and you can see that some of the interface files found on phones do not exist on the tablets). It seems that the tablets suffer from the same issues related to the S-Pen as do the phones and I have many people asking me to make my app work on their tablets. I cannot do so with the stock ROMs because of the missing interface files.
So I am wondering if there any non-stock ROMs in which the S-Pen is more fully supported. The missing files are located on my phone in /sys/class/sec/sec_epen/ and the two files I need are called epen_hand and epen_rotation. If anyone knows of any ROMs for the S-Pen equipped tablets that provide these interface files, I would appreciate knowing and may be able to direct some folks to using them.
Thanks

I think you're in the wrong section..? This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 section, we don't have support for S Pen.

Oops! Sorry about that. I know that some Galaxy tablets have the S-Pen. Thought this was one. Please ignore!
Haha, that's perfectly okay. I wish we had support! Capactive styli are so annoying to use, and the digitizer on this is in need of some serious fine tuning.

Ability to remove skin soon to be unveiled from Google?

Hello
An interesting article I read today with regards to the skins OEM put on android devices (touchwiz) that leads to fragmentation.
Interesting quote from the article,
"I believe this Android update underscores Google’s new vision for OEMs has hardware producers only! Android 4.4 is a trojan horse of unification - it will give Google the tools it needs to completely wipe a skin from a device with a simple download from the Play Store."
If this turns out to be true it can have a major impact on the Galaxy Note products due to it being so reliant on touchwiz. Also I do not know how deeply integrated touchwiz is on Android so I guess time will tell.

Great article. Thanks for posting the link. I hate touchwizz and love simple vanilla android which you get on the nexus devices. Android needs to be simple to use and I find using touchwizz requires a another learning curve and it just irritates me. I think manufactures should use stock android and then install custom launchers and apps. Commercially google wants to retain the rains of android which will also be a business decision. I can see the advantages for Joe public who could just pick up any android device and know it works like any other device. I want the choice to pick either without having to root a device and install custom firmware.

Vanilla is good but then you don't get S Pen and multi window. And nexus devices come without SD Support.

These two things do not apply to one another whatsoever. Samsung could put S-Pen, SD, and multi-window support on their devices without the UI overhaul. The two are not in any way connected.
It makes perfect sense for them to put stock android in their tablets and make the S-Note, multi window etc available via the playstore.
Honestly, I don't know about Samsung's and Google relationship as it stands today but if Google does makes an app that allows the user to remove OEM skins than it might be the start of the downfall between the two companies.
On a side note there are rumours that the new Nexus 10 is Asus built not Samsung.
Not a rumour. Asus is building the new nexus 10. One the fence about buying the new 10.1 or waiting for the new nexus.
