[Q] Which ROM provide best battery life ? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i would know which rom has the best battery life for the i9505.
I'm currently on DanVDH 5.0 Lollipop rom, which is awesome but the battery life isn't that good : With only wifi on, airplane mode on, brightness between 30-50%, and normal use (Chrome, sociak networks, some dl and videos), i can't get more than barely 3h30 of screen on time, sometimes 4 hours but not so often.
So, which rom (and maybe kernel) would you recommend ? I'd love to get at least 4 to 5 hours of screen-on time.

Im using the CM12 Lollipop 5.0.2 Build from Antares and got between 4-6h Screentime, without problems any way more usage as you.
Maybe your battery is ... dying?

It can't be the battery dying, it's a S4 black edition which isn't old.. And in stock rom it used to last way much longer :/

[Q] Stock LG vs. AOSP, CM ROM battery

Hello.
I noticed that on CM is battery drain faster than on stock LG rom. How is this possible if lg rom is bloated?
Has someone bettery battery life with aosp rom, or is LG always better?

It all comes down the the kernel for the most part, in this case, I have seen exceptional battery life with AICP - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494700 -
It's been stellar, and has an unbelievable number of options. It has rebooted on me in a week all of twice, which is way acceptable in my book compared to the bloat and stuff that comes on the LG rom. I love the rom, tons of themes out there on the playstore for 10.2, etc.
I was wondering the same thing, if the battery was going to be better or worse on AOSP.
I've been debating what direction I was going to go with software on my phone AOSP or custom stock
So i tried CM M1 snapshot. Usage was same as with debloated stock LG rom. Sync on, wifi or internet on, some low brightness and some high brightness.
I think that even phone was used more with LG rom, for same period of time LG rom was at 78-80% and CM rom was at 69 %.
As you can see from screenshots, no wakelock on CM.
Second screen is display.
In my experience, lg rom giving me better battery life than cm.
I get 24 hours battery life with 5 hours SOT with LG rom, with cm I only get around 4 SOT

It s quite big difference. Hope that future roms and kernels will improve battery compare to stock.

Taking your battery to 69% after 18 hours with an hour screen on time is not an indication of anything other than great battery life for the first 18 HOURS!!
Then you DON'T post screen shots of the LG ROM and just say "I think" it was 10% higher and are upset?
At the rate you're going you'll be at 3 days with three hours screen on [email protected][email protected] - Now THAT was a scientific calculation!!
battery
For awhile i thought CM was better, but running the 11/7 version, it seems to be draining faster than stock
I haven't been particularly happy with my battery drain running AOSP (Cyanogen mod nightly at the moment) which is a pity because other than that it runs great.
What I've been doing is charging my phone up to 100% before going to bed then leaving it idle (connected to wifi) while monitoring it with BBS.
What I've found is it's draining at around 3-6%/hour. The strange thing is BBS shows that my phone is going into deep sleep mode so why the battery drain, possibly powermanagerservice wakelocks?
...
I made second test. Tried to use CM and stock ROM in same way (browsing, fb, some videos, calls, mails) plus I greeniefied some apps and some system apps and with same screen time I have result 84% stock rom for 1:20 screen time and 70% for same screen time in CM M1 snapshot.
On both screen was mostly at 0%, sometimes about 30-40% .
Honestly, can´t find any explanation why CM drains more battery, every post or article just said that it was wakelock or that CM just drains more battery.

[Q] Battery drain on S3 (i9300)

I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticing this but I just came off 4.3 TouchWiz onto SlimKat 4.4.2 (Build 5) and I'm noticing battery drain like crazy on my mobile. I thought it was bad on my previous stock ROM after the horrendous 4.3 update Samsung provided but this is worse. I used to get around 9-10 hours of battery life which has been reduced to around 6-7 hours now (I know it's not a HUGE difference but I'm not a fan of charging my phone twice a day). Overnight (despite leaving it on flight mode) the battery of my phone drops by 8 odd % in around 6-7 hours. Does anyone know the cause of this and can someone please help me?
Thanks

1. Switch off Google now.
2. Root.
3. Install Greenify + Donation Pack.
4. Greenify the intended apps.
5. Switch off Location.
6. Turn off animations.
7. Turn down the brightness.
8. Turn on the dark slim mode.
9. Switch to 2g.
With the above, I get 1+ day of battery on my i9300.
Read in other forums of other ROMs with 4.4.2 that battery drains with this KitKat version
Using omni ROM 4.4.2 battery drains on this too. Could it be Version specific problem ?

[Q] Tired of flashing... The best battery ROM?

Hello,
I'm tired of constantly flashing ROMs on my D802. Flashed Grola - got random reboots and mobile network bugs, flashed AICP - got poor battery life. Even stock ROM is quite poor because of bugs and, simply, ugliness.
I know it's not allowed to compare ROMs, but I'm asking if you can recommend me a ROM that:
- is not ugly (so I'm not considering original stock-like ROMs)
- has good battery life (for example 5h of SOT + 3h of calls)
- doesn't hang nor reboots for a random reason
- is simply stable
Is there any ROM that's up to scratch?
SaberSunset
Firstly stock, secondly there is no best rom, also best rom threads are not allowed, root-debloat-and theme a stock rom, and get your combination.
And battery life measuring via SOT is stupid, very stupid, i can read an ebook and get 7h of SOT, or watch watch a movie on airplane mode and have 4h of calls and 6h of SOT or play a heavy game with 4G and get barely 2h SOT, or have a mixed usage and get 5h SOT, so, did you get it?
Flash optimus g3 rom.apply dorimanx kernel.enyoy

Any stock ROM will be fine.
On FR rom currently. Very stable and good backup.
I'm on CM12 Lollipop with the daily Nightlies...
Works great for me, no bugs and very smooth. Battery is great, as you can stop the waking up of the phone in advanced privacy settings, which makes me have the phone on for 2 days without any issues.
Well worth the flash, I'm not flashing anything else anymore!
cloudy g3..
the best i found on d820
i get 6hrs SOT with atleast 2.5 hrs of browsing.. lil bit gaming n a few calls

did i flash the wrong rom to my phone?

First things first my phone model is SM-S902L straight talk. the stock firmware is 4.4.2 and since i flashed 7.1 on here (lineageOS 14.1) i cannot flash the stock because of secure boot blocking it because you cant downgrade. Like an idiot i didnt backup the stock rom with TWRP, and from there my battery life is about 4 hours of use from full charge to being dead. On the suggestion of someone on reddit i flashed Resurrection remix and the battery life was a little better but still horrible. I came across a thread of someone saying they used the wrong rom and flashing the correct one fixed the battery life. so i just flashed the RR Remix KLTEVZW (FCC code said G900V at the end) and my battery seems to be lasting alot longer. i haven't installed any apps but just keeping the screen on im getting a good 5-10 minutes between each 1% battery drop. Before it was draining so fast just installing 5 apps from the play store i lost 8% battery. and playing pokemon go i was losing 1% battery every minute or 2 give or take.
Was the S5 battery life always crap? I mean my note 2 with its original battery lasts twice as long with cyanogen mod 13 if not more. Here is something interesting. When i started typing this out (about 30 minutes ago) the battery level dropped 2% and the life expectancy changed from 1 hours 51 minutes to approx 5 hours. Do you think the normal KLTE is an incorrect rom and KLTEVZW is the one i need?
It depends on CPU states, CPU power and also battery life. No, not that battery life, but how old or if it is genuine or not. The Snapdragons are battery hoggers, Exynos phones always lasted longer because they are better low power devices, plus the Note 2 only had 1.6 GHz, while the S5 has 2.5GHz and more powerful software to shift, and the 1080p display which is the main issue. I thought you screwed it up and bricked your device, misleading title, so please edit it. Tell me if you want me to tell you more from my personal experience to shed some light on this.
I would say try the normal lineage klte version instead of the Verizon one heres the link for there download https://download.lineageos.org/klte

s4 (i9506 model) best battery life rom ans kernel

hallo guys. i search the best normal looking rom or and kernel for the i9506 model to have a longer battery life. atm my battery lasts only 8 hours with a new battery. im using cyanogenmod 14.1
I really don't think you can get more than 8 hours out of the S4.
Most people barely get 4 hours.
i remember times where i could use the phone for more then 15 hours at stock rom. im not a poweruser just watchin 1-2 times per hour at my phone..
i thought there is some better rom concerning battery times :/
Only with a bigger battery.
The maximum is 5 hours screen-on time you can get.
