Mate 7 vs Meizu mx4 - Ascend Mate 7 General

Which is better? Thanks

I want to buy one of these mobiles for christmas, which is powerfull? Thanks

According to phonearena, meizu got 8.5 rating whereas mate7 got 9 rating.
In my opinion mate 7 is superior because it has bigger screen and bigger battery.
Also meizu has mediatek cpu which performs horrible in gaming. And huawei processor is good for gaming as I have played many games on my mate7.
And also the fingerprint scanner of mate7 is fabulous.
In my opiniin u should get mate7.

MT7 for sure
I had the chance to take a look at maize mx 4 in China just before buying the MT7.
Meizu MX4 has no chance against the MT7. Build quality of MT7 is much better. EMUI 3.0 is much nicer.
I was only not sure about Xiaomi MI4 and MT7. But Xiaomi MI4 has no LTE so it was clear that I buy MT7.

And the camera?

They are not on the same price range. The mate 7 should be compared to the meizu mx4 pro.

Mate 7 Winner !

Honor 5C vs Honor 8 Smart - Get the difference between the look alike specs

Honor 8 Smart got launched today for a price tag that is nearly double than that of Honor 5C.
What is there in Honor 8 smart for the doubled price ?
1. Both Honor 8 Smart and Honor 5C has Kirin 650 processor. Processor in Honor 8 smart is clocked at 2GHz and the one in 5C clocked at 1.7GHz.
2. Honor 8 Smart has NFC which 5C doesn't have in its indian variant (NEM-L22)
3. Honor 8 Smart has Dual tone Flash compared to the single tone flash in 5C
4. Honor 8 Smart is equipped with Gyroscope which Honor 5C and even 5X don't have.
5. Honor 8 Smart doesn't support FM radio which is supported by 5C
6. Honor 8 Smart supports single-SIM (Nano-SIM) slot unlike 5C which supports dual sim.
7. Honor 8 has HiSilicon Hi6402 24-bit DAC, Smart PA amplifier for audio amplification which is not there in 5C.
8. Both Honor 8 smart and Honor 5C will be upgraded to EMUI 5 (Nougat)
All other things such as battery, camera, RAM, internal, 4G support are same in Honor 8 Smart like 5C.
So decide your preference and get the one which suits you well.
24-bit DAC is a welcome feature :good:

This seams to be true for the indian version of the phone, where the Honor 8 smart was released too, but for example the european Honor 5C (NEM-L51) has NFC.
Maybe provide links to the exact compared phones or the model number for better comparison. Thanks

Now 5C costs less i.e 140$ (Rs8500) this festive season in India. A great buy for a good spec.
Wrong info "Honor 8 Smart has Kirin 950 processor clocked at 2GHz" is not True, it has SAME Kirin 650 processor clocked at 2GHz as in 5C clocked at 1.7GHz!! Check "https://store.hihonor.com/in/honor/smartphones/honor-8-smart" site for reference!! So Stupid mess of a phone by Huawei!!!

5c sounds like the better deal, for double the price a slightly higher clocked cpu shouldnt really affect performance that greatly considering they're the same chip. How much are they?

I believe the Mate 9 ( mine Chinese firmware B153) has the function for call recording as it is in the call setting to activate it. I haven't tested to confirm if it works though. May give it a try later.
The Mate 9 has no Quickcharge, only Supercharge. Thats a big different because this work only with the orig. Huawei charger .
And i compare it to my Axon 7 and see the Axon in front, Axon has better camera, better real stereo audio and a good accu for a QHD Amoled display. And its much cheaper then a Z11 or Mate 9.

I had the axon 7 before the mate 9. It's the axon 7 screen size, camera, and software that lets it down in comparison. Battery life isn't bad on the axon 7, but it is bad in comparison to the mate 9. It's a lot cheaper though, so...
The axon 7 camera just isn't very good. One of the software issues is that the axon 7 keeps killing background processes when you switch between apps even if you change the battery settings. It's pretty frustrating sometimes.
I will not break out a big discussion, that my impression. And you forget one thing: The mate 9 cost double then the Axon 7 and it is worth this? No.

Sorry mate, don't mean to offend you But why are you here? Go to your forum make the comparison there. I'm really happy with my Mate 9 is a magnificent device no complaints here and some of the features missing they can put it with an update so.... What's the point of all this?
Must you read this thread? No, so be happy with your phone, fanboy. Its not my first Huawei phone and there update politic was not the best in the past. The Mate 9 is not a bad phone with potential but for me too many bugs at the moment for a 700€ phone.

As I said already it's a lot cheaper, so yes that is obvious. Is almost double the battery life, larger screen but lower res, better camera and better software worth the higher price? That's up to others. I like the mate 8 even better than the axon 7 and that you can get for cheap...

I'm not a fanboy. In fact it's my first Huawei and I'm very pleased with it. Of course like every phone isn't perfect but its a he'll of a phone in performance and battery. Camera it's very good in manual mode you just have to play with it a little bit.

Agreed. I've had the Axon 7, Pixel XL, Moto Z Play, HTC 10, S7 Edge (still have) and the OnePlus 3. For me, PERSONALLY, I like the Mate 9 the most. Camera is excellent, screen is a joy and gets bright/dark enough for my liking and the ability to change the color temp is nice. Speaker sound is not as robust as the Axon, maybe on par with the HTC10, but I couldn't care less about that, it's not a boom box for me. The speakers are quite good. I use headphones 100% of the time if I am listening to music. The axon can only use the hi-fi DAC if you are using ZTEs own music app which is hot garbage. Music through the Mate's headphones on both of my pairs of Audio Technicas sound nice. I wouldn't call it audiophile class obviously, but it's good. The battery life is great, on par in my usage with the Z play but I find the battery life is the Z plays literal only selling point. The mate 9 is better in every other measure I can appreciate. The Pixel XL is nice and the camera is excellent, but it's also more money. The Pixel XL is unnecessarily huge. Same size essentially as the Mate 9 even though it's screen is appreciably smaller. I'd rather get an M9 and pocket the difference, which is what I did.

help switching to p10 plus

Hello everybody i have mate 9 pro and i was thinking to upgrade to p10 plus , but is it Worth it? The shop said they will buy the mate 9 pro from me for 705$ and the p10 plus costs 684$ so can someone help me to decide?
What perceived benefit do you think you'll get? Apart from microSD I can't see anything... (slightly better camera maybe)
No. Wait for Mate 10 with its Kirin 970. P10 plus definitely not an upgrade to Mate 9 pro which has larger battery and curved Amoled screen. And from the pricing as well, Mate 9 pro is considered by Huawei themselves as more higher range than P10 plus.

A good chance of seeing another 5.5 inch Mate 10pro to compete with Iphone 8 plus and other 5.5inch category phones. Unless Huawei pulls off a bezel less and the screen size become less relevant. Too early to tell. Also rumors of Honor 9 being released in a 5.5inch version in addition to the 5.1inch, in which case it would have a lot similar specs to P10 series but in a different body and cheaper price tag. But with owning a Mate 9 pro, a proper upgrade will be in Mate 10 series which will have the new Kirin 970.
Can't tell you if better than your previous phone only just upgraded from Sony Z3.... Yes I said that right I came from Z3 to the p10+. The camera is better, the internal memory 128gb is better, having Nougat straight out the box is better Z3 was left at early realise of mm, having finger Id is new to me.
The touch screen is a little unresponsive someone's I need touch screen 2 or 3 times before it acknowledges the touch.
The only major downside is I'm unable to root, which up to now all phones I've rooted.
I'm impressed by the phone and battery life, I've had phone for just over 2wks.
Sent from my VKY-L09 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's not really an upgrade, more of a side grade. I've switched from the regular Mate 9 to the p10 plus. Battery life is worse but camera is slightly better especially in low light.

Honor 8 pro FASTER than OnePlus 5?

The processor Kirin 960 doesn't outperform Snapdragon 835 in benchmarks but who cares about benchmarks in 2017 the real life performance of Honor 8 pro seems to be just smooth even while gaming and other stuff and their is a plus point that the Kirin 960 processor doesn't seem to get overheated while playing heavy games unlike Snapdragon 835 in OnePlus 5 so I'd feel to opt or prefer the underrated Honor 8 pro or Honor 6X or Honor 9 against OnePlus 5 considering the price that Honor Phones are available!
If you get your hands on honor 8 pro, please tell us how it compares against OP5
People still care about benchmarks in 2017. Wow.

Honor 8 pro is no slouch in terms of performance. It's a real flagship in performance. You can keep 20 or maybe more apps open at the same time. I have tried with 10 and none of the apps closed abruptly.

This is why benchmarks are becoming pointless. Every 2017 flagship performs like this. Thoughts @joe2k01?

And I don't even understand those speed tests comparing two smart phones together. I mean who is gonna compare them in real life. No one uses a stopwatch to calculate the time.
People get mad if one phone manages to open some app 2 seconds earlier and crown it as the king. Come on.[emoji23]

I was a rom freak. I loved customising my phone a lot with all the features. I am using a custom skin for the first time and I am absolutely not missing any feature from custom rom (except maybe double tap to sleep and wake).
And so, I am not feeling the need to root this device. The performance out of the box is exceptional.

I completely disagree with that.
Honor 8 pro has a bigger and higher resolution screen with higher body to screen ratio.
Homor 8 pro has better chipset with larger ram and internal storage.
Honor 8 pro has a better front facing camera.
The things that could have been upgraded are -
Rear camera - Both honor 8 and honor 8 pro have cameras with same aperture (f2.2). I would have liked the aperture to be atleast 2.0 on honor 8 pro.
Amoled screen - Maybe they could have used an amoled screen
Nothing else really. I am completely OK with my Honor 8 pro. Just want 8.0 upgrade by the end of year.

Upgrade to Mate 10 Pro

Hi, my Nexus 6P is with the batery/board problem so Huawei ask if a want a P10 Plus 128gb, is woth pay more 150€ to upgrade to Mate 10 Pro or just take the P10 Plus?
Thanks
I tried 2 mate 10 pro for a week and send them back, now i am using p10 plus right now.
The camera is not good in the mate 10 pro,lot of software process.
I didn't like the oled screen, there is some black crush and smearing.
The only good about it is the battery life but p10 plus has good battery too but not as much.
I have updated my phone to oreo yesterday and there is more improvement to the camera and video in p10 plus.
So for me I would save the 150€ and I'm not missing the mate 10 pro.
No turning back B**** =)
