[Q] bluetooth pairing on stock note 3

Hi all,
My uncle just got his new note 3 (stock 4.4.2), but he couldn't pair it to his car (Peugeot 508).
I kept searching the forum but couldn't find a solution at all.
So please help urgently.
Google maybe ?

Couldn't find something there too...
strangely when he called the service center, they told him that this is the capabilities of the device!!!!
Please help guys. I couldn't find anything related to this problem.
Funny, in the official "Peugeot connect Bluetooth compatibility" list (i looked just for the 508 model) there are no Samsung phones listed.
So, you know what to do...

Do you mean upgrade the car's software?
Yes, or try Bluetooth with a Nokia 6230, maybe this Device is supported by Peugeot

Did someone try to unlock LTE bands?

"The Helio X10 will be the first chip, which support all bands wordwide"
I really need band 20 for EU LTE but I need to wait for my Redmi Note 2 prime. So did someone try to unlock more bands?
How do u know it is support all bands?
[I saw at enginering mode, band 20 currently not support
I think he wanted to quote it from some sites.
Many Blogs/Shops have that sentence included, they have to do some advertisement.
But as far as I know some reviews also claimed Band 20 (which is very important in Germany) is not supported.
MediaTek sad "Our new chip will be the first, which support LTE worldwide, over 47 bands".
It support all bands but Xiaomi just buy 3 bands.
We need a tutorial, how to unlock other bands.

I think we are kind of far off for a tutorial. From what I've gathered, there are very limited phones with this chip in them at this time, which means we have very little developer support.
Hopefully there are some people reading these forums more advanced than I, but from what I've gathered we wish we had some sort of diagnostic tool like the Qualcomm Diagnostic Tools, but it doesn't appear that MediaTek has something like this. (That has been released anyways)
If the chip supports all bands, then one would think that bands could be restricted at the Baseband. The Baseband gets commands from RIL and Vendor RIL Drivers (That should be located in some of the system driver folders. I have one of the RIL files pulled to my PC, but haven't had time to try and check it out. I'm guessing because its been compiled, it probably wont have anything that is readable or makes any sense to me. Would be pretty sweet if it was as simple as hexediting some flags to turn bands on.
Also, I'm sure the baseband is compiled, and protected, so I'm not sure how easy it is to pull from a rom, or from a phone for that matter... and then once its pulled, if anything will be easy to read for clues reguarding Radio Interface, or Modem Bands...
Anyone available to lend me some knowledge on the subject? I would love a little primer or some reading information to help with this quest.
Thanks!

The link is no longer working. However, it looks like the source is still posted.

still waiting....
^ waiting will get you (us) nowhere. Looking through those files, it seems that the file where the bands are defined is this. It's non-trivial to "enable" them, though, seems like you have to know exactly which hex codes do what to set the radio up correctly.
That's a find there...

Hmmm... Maybe Elephone can help us? This company got phones with MediaTek SoC and more LTE bands?
Sent from my Redmi Note 2 using Tapatalk
My Note2 is on the way. One of the first thing I will try will be using other phone's rils with similar soc (like the mx5 that support B20). The files are in /system/etc/firmware. If we are lucky, this will be enough. Otherwise it will be a long hacking road.
XMister:
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out. I have a Note 2 Prime now, and am pretty comfortable flashing / restoring. Would love to assist you any way I can!
Thanks for your input, We appreciate you!!
With band 20 I will be more than happy

First of all, make a backup of your IMEI and NVRAM.
Second, I'm attaching the firmware files of MX5. I'm not sure about which one should be replaced on Note2, but my guess would be one of the modem...img files.
So, make a backup of your firmware files, and try to replace them (you need root, and r/w mounted system, then adb from pc, or es file explorer from the phone itself can do the job), and reboot.
See if it makes any difference in available bands. Oh and don't forget to make the new files have the exact permissions as the old one had.

Are you affected by WiFi problems in this device?

I decided we should have some statistics about how many of us are having WiFi issues. If it´s a hardware problem of some units or a software related issue that should affect more people.
Any comments about where did you buy it, when, type of router, encryption or whatever might help.
Yes.
Regards.
Good idea
No, i haven't wifi issues. Works like a charm.
Come on France!

No, I don't have any WiFi problem with the last OTA
I just solved my issues... You can probably solve them too if you're on CM nightlies or Exodus. I went into advanced options in WI-FI and change the wifi region to China and then rebooted. Now I get full signal of 2.4G where before I couldn't even connect. And get 50mbps of speed in 5G where before it couldn't even connect to 2.4. I think this may help you too
From cyanogenMOD:
Also we poked through some code and found something off in the wifi configs for Spain. A change has been submitted and merged; those of you on CyanogenMod nightlies: can you please test tomorrow's (20151117) ham nightly without any region changes to China and report back?

I thought maybe the problem was Android 8 because i can connect the watch to my girlfriends Huawei P10 Lite running Android 7 and i can close the app and everything still works.
Both devices are updated to latest version. I wish there was a quick fix to this.
So Garmin has a forum and they have been helpful for me in the past, I'd give that a try.
I love my Vivoactive 3, people say is sucks cause of the screen but u get 5 days on a charge which you can't do with an iwatch. it also does all the smart stuff i need and great activity tracking...

I already made a post over there - still waiting for someone to reply. Also emailed Garmin and Huawei. Excited to see their solution!
Agreed, im in love with it too. Battery life is also fantastic so far. So if the problem lays within the P20 i rather buy a new phone than returning my watch. Thats how satisfied iam with it
Verify that Garmin connect is in the exclude list for battery optimisation on your phone battery setup.

It is. But still wont work
You have to downgrade Garmin Connect version to 4.1.5 or older. In Garmin forum you can find the link to this version. It worked for me.

Android Pie

Hi everyone
I'm a little tired of how Samsung takes ages to give us the newest Android version (in this case it's pie). I mean, next year, wtf! Also, I looked for Android P ROMs, but for the few ones you find, half of the stuff doesn't work yet.
So I wanted to know if there's a possibility to do it myself. What I mean is: could I take a copy of everything that's installed on my phone right now, then customize it that everything stays as is (firmware, Samsung specific things (like gear VR)) keep working but swap the Android itself to Android 9.0 Pie? (Maybe as a bonus get rid of the Samsung apps you don't need, in my case that's everything except gear VR. Second bonus would be to be able to change the bixby button to a Google assistant button)
Hope someone can help me
Thanks in advance
