Default Note 4 notification LED colors? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Seems a bit random to me.
Or very strange (for instance: red color for charging; orange would be better in this case).
What are default default notification colors for most common events in Note 4?
Thanks!

Who cares? Everyone here I bet manages them by personal preference. Use lightflow or LED manager on play store. Works like a charm everytime. Good luck!

Hi,
I have lightflow. But prior using it I want to understand stock color-app mapping. Maybe I won't need Lightflow at all.

I've never understood their color selection, that is why I don't pay attention to what samsung wants for their LED lights.

Good point. Thanks!

Here is a list of the default colors:
Blue:
Pulses in multi-tone blue while the device is turning on or off.
Blinks blue for a missed call, message or other notification.
Blinks blue when you are recording a voice.
Red:
Glows red when the device is connected to a charger and is charging.
Blinks red when the device is connected to a charger but there is a problem with charging.
Blinks red when the battery is low.
Green:
Glows green when the device is connected to a charger and the battery is fully charged.
I hope this helps

Thanks!!!!

Oh yes, it will. In my S4 there were separate options, hence my confusion. Sorry!

Well.. I installed good old Lightflow and everything's ok now (all email blue, all messaging green, missed calls and low battery red, charging orange).
Too bad Samsung uses strange colors and doesn't allow to change them. I was not a fan of lightflow as it uses battery. Maybe things have changed...

I hope so buddy. I find the LED notification to be extremely useful. Great not having to turn on the screen each time to see if you missed something. Just wished Samsung got more creative with the notification like LG did with the Optimus Pro.

What I meant about "more creative" was that LG decided to make the LED notification around the home button instead of a blinking dot on the device. As far as apps, Light Flow is definitely the way to go.

Lg was not the first to come with that design. Just saying. My htc flyer had this design too.

It has a Pulse Notification Light!

You have to enable it under display settings, but it does exist! Sorry if this is common knowledge.
Was enabled by default on mine
I thought a feature of 4.3 was a notification on the screen that would pulse? I would honestly rather have that feature.

That appears to be a Motorola-specific feature, not baked into 4.3. Granted I would not be surprised to see that feature become standard in a future version, but it isn't right now. From a user front-end perspective 4.3 changes almost nothing.

Is it white because it's only white, or is it white because LightFlow hasn't been configured for the RGB LED yet? I think (and hope) it's the latter.

From playing around with it, it seems it only pulses when the screen is off. If you get an email notification and your screen turns on, it won't show. Try waiting until the screen dims after. It should be near the base where the charging port is. I almost missed it since it's so low!

Thanks. I was able to force it on with the app, so I finally see where it is located and can verify it works.
I have to say, I'm not to impressed with it. It's so dim that I don't think I would notice it unless looking for it. The notification light on my phone is about 100x brighter.
Mine seems to be broken. I tried this app and turned off the screen and I still see nothing.
It also has speakers. Test them in poweramp music player with high volume.
I didn't have to enable it either.

Pulse Notification Light

Hi All,
Is there actually a notification light on the 2nd gen Nexus 7? I've yet to see it light up. I have the box in settings checked off, but nothing.
Any insights?

Oh, the things you learn in the XDA forums. I had originally thought that the notification light setting was a dead end, and immediately imagined how nice an LED pulse light would be on a tablet. Coming from the light-less ASUS TF300 that I just sold off for this... Absolutely brilliant. Placement on the tablet is a different story though...
Yeap mine work with all notification .
Hate only white though, should have more choices out of the box.

Wrong Notification LED Color Mapping

This is super frustrating. International SM-N900. I first noticed this problem when setting my whatsapp blink LED colors and noticed that the colors was wrong. Turns out some the mapping is incorrect for the phone.
Can you guys test this along with me?
Download LED tester from google play.
I think the colors white and orange are broken

Damn that sucks - at least mine has a couple different colors.
I ran more test - even though the white looks green, it is actually a different shade than the actual green HEX color .. Don't know if I should be happy or not.
Tested with light manager 900T USA TMO works fine. Much better than the S3 which was like 4 colors.

First thing I noticed about mine N900T and wifes N900A. LED colors are all mashed up and mixed up.
I also just now ran the LED tester app, any color I chose results in the LED flashing green with a bit of red in it LOL

Notification LED on Moto X Force?

It can be controlled with root, but cannot be used for notifications. If we get a custom kernel, then maybe... for now its just used to indicate when the battery is charging but not charged enough to turn the phone on.

Its not a notification light. It's charging indicator light. Your battery level must be near 0% if you wanna see it. Or you can use an app from post above yours if you wanna enable it as charging Iight whenever you charge your phone.

Unfortunately this "hidden" LED light is in fact only used by the stock OS to show you that the battery needs to be charged when the phone doesn't have enough power to light the screen.
If you ask me a pretty dumb way of using this beautiful LED light... I hope someone writes a custom rom for the dt2 and moto x force that allowed this once we are able to achieve root and bl unlock.. Good luck guys
