Sideload emulator quuestion - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I successfully sideloaded my SuperGNES emulated but I can't download the ROMS to it through the app. I am using chainfires launcher to access the app. Does anyone know how to get there ROM's onto it so I can play Super Mario and Zelda on my nexus player.

Enable dev mode, enable usb debugging, Install the android sdk on your pc/laptop, connect to the usb port in the nplayer, then from a command prompt...
adb push c:\game.rom /sdcard/roms/game.rom
Sent from my Nexus 5

You can sideload ES explorer, then go in tools and turn on network sharing. Then wirelessly transfer the data by opening that IP address

You don't have to sideload this. Just goto the play store on your pc search for es and click install. You'll see a list of your devices and the nplayer should be available to choose. That's how I got es on mine yesterday.

Retroarch is pretty cool. Auto-detected Nyko Playpad Pro in game. Only tiny issue is that Super Mario Bros. seems to run fast but other games work flawlessly.

You need to go to the play store on your PC, then select Nexus Player when you go to install. It will push and install directly to your player.

You don't need anything besides the PC playstore for most apps. Simply install from the PC playstore and select your Nexus Player as the device. You'll also want to install Sideload Launcher from Chainfire from the PC playstore to your NP, as it gives easier access to all your sideloaded apps:

Guys how did you get the Nexus Controller to work with retroarch? I made it detect every button in the player 1 custom binds, but when I go to play nothing works.

It appears my install isn't as flawless. I have to force stop the app before I can load a different ROM, and apparently certain cores don't like the controllers. Not sure, but it's not perfect yet.

Let me know if you figure how to get it work. I have the same problem here, I can hit the "select" button with a profile, but never the "start" one.
Main reason I got the player was to play Super Mario bros on it (I have the asus "official" controller)
Tried Nestopia too, but worst results

Search for 'arcade' in the play store and you'll see some SNES emulators show up. You can actually install these and they show up on the home screen! I've been playing Snes9x EX+ with no issues

[Q] Metro apps Doesn't recognize Webcam

As i wrote metro apps doesn't recognize my A4Tech webcam
None of them not work.Skype and Default Camera apps
I searched much on google,But not found solution
Can anyone help ?
Anyone ?
Check in devices Open Explorer, paste this to address bar):
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers
If it's there but shown as not working, download driver from manufacturer and install it.
If it's not there, make sure the webcam works at all, and then make sure you've got the driver.
If it's there and works in desktop apps, then make sure you didn't do something silly like tell Metro apps they aren't allowed to use it. In a Metro app, hit Win+i (or otherwise bring up the Settings charm), select Permissions, and make sure the app is allowed to use "Webcam and microphone".
Camera is working for desktop apps, only problem it's not working with metro apps like skype
BTW i can't find where to select permissions ?

There is no need for smartass replies like that.
The quick command keys are not blatantly obvious. They weren't in any manual I got, only found out about them via forums

Do you, by any means, have an ATI Radeon graphics card, and have the Catalyst Beta Drivers for Windows 8 installed?
The point is that I quoted directly from my previous post... if you waste people's time asking them to repeat themselves in a freaking *written forum* they will extract some amusement out of the situation, probably at your expense.

Is there anyway to get your android screen to come up on your pc and remotely run apps on your pc. Plus control the pc itself like remote desktop.

Not sure about running the screen on the pc, but I use Pocketcloud for remote desktop. Hope this helps.
I'm not sure what you're looking for, but you could just run apps on your PC using BlueStacks.
OTOH, I have an app on my Nook Touch that can be controlled from my Kyocera Rise or my PC.

I am using bluestack for a while, problem is that u can´t use google play at all. so u have download the apps on your phone and then copy to the pc.
Bluestacks is not as fast as your phone.
You must be facing low performance in it...
Even if you have a gaming ATi or Nvidia card

Really the best and easiest way to do that without emulation is to get a mhl cable assuming your device supports it. Then you'll have a mirrored connection on your pc monitor or TV if you want and can use it like your phone.

As far as I've seen on SockteQ's page and product brochure, it is targeted to tablets, and not for trivial smartphones (i.e. gives a view of an Android tablet screen in the prog window). Their efforts are great, but there's no clue for the trivial handsets user.

Control Your Note 10.1 From Your PC - Including Using S Note

This is pretty cool. You can mirror your Note on your PC and control it using your PC's keyboard and mouse. It's a great way of editing and reviewing S Notes on your PC while they are still in native form on the Note. It connects either over USB (with debugging turned on) or over Wi-Fi.
Here's the desktop app...
http://www.mobizen.com/en/?page_id=236
Here's the Play store app for the Note...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5yc3VwcG9ydC5tdmFnZW50Il0.
I can confirm this works well with the Note 10.1, thanks for the heads-up. :good:
Edit: You have to download the APK from their website as the market version reports it is incompatible with the Note. The downloaded version has the correct skin for the note.
Great app but it`s not showing the proper skin for me (downloaded and installed the apk from their site version 1.0.1.26).
Anyone wanna post the apk file, play store says it's incompatible with ALL my toys and can't find the apk file on the mobizen site.....
Doesn't help I just finished work and have to start again in 7 1/2 hours....

The desktop app reads the device's model number when it connects. I have a N8000 and it worked fine. It also worked for my N7100. I don't know about the N8010/13 or non-international versions of Samsung's devices. The company that built the app is in Germany and probably doesn't know the N8013 even exists (as well as Samsung phones with carrier specific model numbers).
Well it`s woking fine with my note2 (n7100) too and showing with the proper skin. I have the n8000 but for some reason it`s not showing the proper skin. Anyway as long as it`s working ..... Thx for the great recommendation!

WOW!! Great find!!
This is a great tool, thank you very much for sharing! I have it installed and it is working very well.
This is exactly what I was looking for, something that allows me to easily connect to my Note and utilize S notes (or whatever) with my computer keyboard.
I have plenty of work documentation that I can now easily copy and paste into S notes, and this saves me a lot of time retyping everything. :good:

Reading the user reviews in Google Play, a lot state that they took away WIFI. Can someone confirm that? I'd really love this if it could be used over WIFI.
Maybe downloading the apk from the link provided early instead of downloading it from Google Play will still have WIFI available??

After you install it on the device and start it, it asks you if you want to download the wireless module (APK) to use it over Wi-Fi. Still works for me. Once it's set up, all you need to do is start the desktop app and it automatically finds and starts the app on the device if its connected to Wi-Fi.

EDIT: Disregard, I reinstalled and now it works fine! Must have been a root issue, because it only did it the very first time, before it was granted root. Every time after, it was just fine. Thank you!!!
Also, one question. Can we use this in Roms for the device, assuming we give you proper credit? We've been waiting on something like this for a long time, my friend.

Forgot to report back. The application works perfectly with my Actv. The previous version didn't launch on my actv at first. However this new version works fantastic. Thanks again, I'm very greatful.
This is a brilliant little app, would it be possible to add Wifi ADB and Normal(USB) ADB to make it the complete solution? I use GScript right now for these tasks, having it in the ADB manager would be perfect

Is there an adb command to set my Motoactv to automatically start with the device? I'm rooted, using the stock interface, and just want it to easily go back to USB mode by default. Thanks.
