Control Your Note 10.1 From Your PC - Including Using S Note - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

This is pretty cool. You can mirror your Note on your PC and control it using your PC's keyboard and mouse. It's a great way of editing and reviewing S Notes on your PC while they are still in native form on the Note. It connects either over USB (with debugging turned on) or over Wi-Fi.
Here's the desktop app...
http://www.mobizen.com/en/?page_id=236
Here's the Play store app for the Note...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5yc3VwcG9ydC5tdmFnZW50Il0.

I can confirm this works well with the Note 10.1, thanks for the heads-up. :good:
Edit: You have to download the APK from their website as the market version reports it is incompatible with the Note. The downloaded version has the correct skin for the note.

Great app but it`s not showing the proper skin for me (downloaded and installed the apk from their site version 1.0.1.26).

Anyone wanna post the apk file, play store says it's incompatible with ALL my toys and can't find the apk file on the mobizen site.....
Doesn't help I just finished work and have to start again in 7 1/2 hours....

The desktop app reads the device's model number when it connects. I have a N8000 and it worked fine. It also worked for my N7100. I don't know about the N8010/13 or non-international versions of Samsung's devices. The company that built the app is in Germany and probably doesn't know the N8013 even exists (as well as Samsung phones with carrier specific model numbers).

Well it`s woking fine with my note2 (n7100) too and showing with the proper skin. I have the n8000 but for some reason it`s not showing the proper skin. Anyway as long as it`s working ..... Thx for the great recommendation!

Here's a DB link to the skin files that are installed on my PC. They aren't labeled by device but one of the five is for the Note 10.1. Good luck.

WOW!! Great find!!
This is a great tool, thank you very much for sharing! I have it installed and it is working very well.
This is exactly what I was looking for, something that allows me to easily connect to my Note and utilize S notes (or whatever) with my computer keyboard.
I have plenty of work documentation that I can now easily copy and paste into S notes, and this saves me a lot of time retyping everything. :good:

Reading the user reviews in Google Play, a lot state that they took away WIFI. Can someone confirm that? I'd really love this if it could be used over WIFI.
Maybe downloading the apk from the link provided early instead of downloading it from Google Play will still have WIFI available??

Can you tell me how you copy paste into the tab using this tool.. I want to copy text from PC and paste into tab using mobizen screen.

After you install it on the device and start it, it asks you if you want to download the wireless module (APK) to use it over Wi-Fi. Still works for me. Once it's set up, all you need to do is start the desktop app and it automatically finds and starts the app on the device if its connected to Wi-Fi.

[APP] Sending files from PC to GalaxyS via wireless internet

Hi.
I'm introducing an awsome application made by Samsung.
Its name is SnapNGo.
There are two files which are sng_setup.exe and SnapNGo.apk.
SnapNGo.apk is installed on your device and sng_setup.exe is on your PC.
In order to use them, those two machines must be online.
After installation both of them, turn on the Snap N' Go file in your PC.
And then turn on the SnapNGo application in your device as well.
You must see the camera screen.
Default setting is "from PC to Device".
If you want to pull a file out from PC, just take its photo.
Put the file icon in the middle of Camera's focusing box and press shoot button.
That's all. Your file will be located in /sdcard/SnapNGo/
Here's the attachment's link. It's 9.07MB zipped.
attachment here
A sad thing is that it doesn't work on Froyo, at least with mine.
edit : Oh my god.. there is the place where I should've written down this kind of thread.
I'm sorry, how can I move this to there?
HAHAH !!! it works
This a really nice app thanks buddy

You may want to try SwiFTP, it does ftp over wifi. It's a 1 click setup and you can then access it with any machine on the network. Super fast and easy.
many thanks for this helpfull program, which works perfictily ob the latest orange froyo 2.2.
however, there is newer addition of it, if some one can bring it to us, that would be great.

[Q] Hulu on the Atrix?

I've seen that people have had success getting Hulu to work on their webtop/lapdock, but does anyone know of a way to get it to work on the phone itself?
I know with the Droid X and some other phones, you can trick hulu by editing your flash library to show that it's a Windows device instead of Android. Is this possible on the Atrix?
I'm using playon to watch hulu videos. basically just streams from desktop but works well. Sadly, netflix is not supported.
I don't think that's free though, is it?
I'm sure the flash player can be made to work on the Atrix, just as it has for other devices. If I have some spare cycles I'll try and get a modded library posted.
EDIT: It works fine. Attached is the modded library that should be unzipped and copied to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib. Using a browser that supports user agent settings (e.g. Dolphin HD), set it to Desktop, enable Plugins (Always seems to work better than On Demand) and then browse to Hulu. Profit.
Worked for me.
Just wanted to say thanks.

Odd. What browser are you using? What is your user agent setting? What is your plugin setting? Are you using the stock Flash Player, not the one from the Market?
Dolphin HD, Desktop, Always on
come to think of it, I think I did download the one from the market. Do I need to revert to the stock one? If so, how do I go about doing that?
Remove the market version and if you have root access to your phone, try copying the flashplayer.apk from /preinstall to /system/app and reboot.
hm, I don't see any apks there. In /preinstall/app, there's a com.adobe.flashplayer file, but it's not an .apk. I tried renaming it as an apk and putting it in the system/app directory, but that didn't work
nevermind, i installed the tegra2 version of the flash player someone leaked on the boards, and that seemed to fix the issue.
thanks!

The version for the Tegra 2 is not compatible with the Captivate (10.1.106.16) its hardware specific from what I have read. You could prob mod the lib for the above specific version through.

File Sharing Between Devices

Hey guys. I'm loving my N7 but I have 8 GB (gift not choice) and I'm having issues getting the most out of the space
I want to quickly move large files to my GNex. Native WiFi Direct will connect the devices but no native share option shows in gallery or file manager. Many WiFi sharing apps use actual WiFi and not Direct. The very few that do are clunky and not hat great (IMO)
I do not own a S3 but from what I read S-Beam is exactly what I'm looking for (NFC to connect WiFi) but the threads on the matter go unanswered.
For now I'm using Anysend and waiting until I get home to transfer but I was just wondering if anyone has better options

Hi, there's an app on the play store called 'WiFi shoot' or 'shoot wifi' . I can't remember it uses WiFi direct and will give you the option in the gallery's or file browsers to send it
It was made by another user on here.
Edit. It's called wifishoot!. Links here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.budius.WiFiShoot&hl=en
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test it as my arc doesn't support WiFi direct. But it was made to work with the gnex so you should have no problem

Thanks! Turns out AnySend can set devices to auto accept and transfer. The UI is also very clean so other than not using direct, I'm OK with it
I have used WiFi Shoot and its half of what I'm looking for. It crashes and errors many times (this could only be me) and the share option takes you to the app and needs the other device to have the app open
Anysend is good enough unless an APK of S-Beam can be ported I'll use it and keep the hunt on

in case you are still looking for options to share data thru wi-fi and wi-fi direct, i developed an app "PeerDeviceNet" which allows you do exactly that and more. It has been on google play for a while. unfortunately i cannot post the link here (too new to post external links). you can find links at my web site: peerdevicenet.net , or search for it at google play. i tested with nexus 7, samsung tab2, kindle fire(last year version), and an old galaxy phone. it supports android 2.2+.

Use Google Cloud Print to print from your tablet...

Seems a lot of people are not familiar with this service.
Google offers a free service through which you can print from your tablet wirelessly to any printer connected to your computer. It is pretty simple.
1. Download Chrome Browser on your desktop.
2. Go to Advanced Settings Link in Settings.
3. Scroll down to "Google Cloud Print"
4. Click "Manage Print Settings...", and pretty much follow the instructions from there.
Then on your tablet,
1. Download "PrinterShare" from Play Store.
2. Follow instructions. When given the option you will choose Cloud Printer.
3. Print by sharing your document with your PrinterShare. Works best if you share it as an image file.
4. You can adjust the layout of the printed document just prior to printing.
That's it.
Yeah. You can use print share mobile too. I find the interface a tad better and while it does have a pay portion there is no limit for charge for printing through Google cloud print with it. However I've never paid attention to if you can print through the share option with this as I normally save the file then print it.
I've almost got myself talked into a Samsung printer to print directly from snotes.
Edit: just checked and you can print via share as well.
Yeah the share thing is helpful because you can obviously print directly from websites. It also compresses the website into a .pdf for you prior to printing.

Just checked snotes and it looks like you can print via share from there if you choose share as an image file. The hand written notes only take up 1/4 of a normal piece of paper this way though. Not sure about anything else like drawings.

Oh really? Cool will have to check that.
** Just make sure your desktop computer isnt sleeping or it wont work. For me notes took up whole page.
Ok i see. If you use the Printer Share app then yeah it prints them small. However, if you want to print multiple pages you have to use Printer Share. The Cloud Print app only works on individual pages.
OK, If using PrinterShare you can select "printer options" then "size to page" and notes will fill entire page
Yeah PrinterShare definitely the way to go here.

Epson has Epson iPrint as a free app in the Play store. It works with a bunch of their printers, including mine. I can print straight from my tablet to the printer - without going through the Internet or another computer.
And I can scan straight from my printer (it's an all-in-one) to my tablet, too.
So, when shopping for a new printer, maybe check to see if the manufacturer has an Android app like what Epson has. Or get an Epson. Supporting manufacturers directly, who are supporting Android, seems like a good idea to me.
Thanks. Good heads up on that.

In Polaris Office open the File Browser at the bottom left. Check mark the file you wish to print. Then click the solid black arrow at the stop right and choose Printer Share to print it.
In Office Suite you can share a document by going to the folders view and checkmarking the documents you wish to print then clicking the Share button at the top right. Then just select your Printer Share app from the list and you are good to go.
