Latest news about availability - Ascend Mate 7 General

As we mentioned in our recent thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/mate-7-model-worldwide-frequency-bands-t2911154), the availability becomes a major issue in the Chinese market over the past few weeks. The latest news is that, per our HUAWEI connection, HUAWEI cannot fulfill most orders in the next 2-3 weeks. We previously heard from HUAWEI that they were trying to fulfill the initial order (from EU customers who deposited) from Europe first; apparently, this is not the case now.
As of the situation in our 5 stores, we had taken over 30+ full deposits during the last week, and this time our HUAWEI lady told us we can only get 10 units per store per week, per latest HUAWEI policy/instruction/whatever. We were told that, HUAWEI continuously receives massive orders nationwide and the production of this phone is limited to 1 factory only in Guangdong Province. To get one unit immediately in the Chinese market, people are paying over $820 USD now! Even at China Mobile stores, Chine UniCom stores, Mate 7 is OFFICIALLY being sold over MSRP (+400 CNY mark up at least) and there is NO stocks! A major holiday is coming soon, 11 November (1111), the Single's Day in China. The availability issue will at least last till then, trust or not.
Message here for the EU xda community members: put your deposit with reputed online sellers (e.g., Amazon DE, France) NOW and you MAY expect to get one before Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday, maybe!

What a load of BS. Sorry, this is not about this reseller, they're just reporting the absolute craptastic behavior of Huawei. How can a company announce a device and not have any stock a month later? I keep seeing they're still GIVING AWAY devices to journalists yet have no stock for their customers. It adds insult to injury about how bad this company does business. The Nexus 6 is looking better and better every day, PLUS, given what they just announced with not offering Kitkat for AM2, how likely is it going to be that they'll abandon this device as well 6 months down the road? They've already abandoned who knows how many users who have been waiting for a device until it is released.
I'm giving up. I'm looking at the other carriers' offerings. After all, the holiday season is when a lot of carriers release their newest devices. I don't get why Huawei can't seem to get their collective heads out of a certain orifice and actually decide if they want to move out of the #3 spot?

Finally, Black one in stock at amazon.de.

That is the shipment we talked about. Grab one as soon as you can. L09 is a single-Sim version though. If you need dual-Sim black version, it (TL00) is available in China.

Huawei announced general availability for the Ascend Mate 7 in Germany starting today. Recommended selling price is 499€ incl. taxes. You can choose between silver and black versions, both 16GB.
It would be good to know which firmware is preinstalled, since MT7-L09V100R001C00B120SP04 from earlier this month is still a bit buggy.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with sanjsrik. I'm done researching and considering this phone. Huawei, get your **** together.
Unsubscribing from this forum, good luck everyone ☺

mine was sent out day. maybe i get it tomorrow. paid for it 450€ (italy)

i go to my post office tomorrow to pickup mine, i'm not at my home when it come today.

HTC One launch in Singapore aborted, delayed

Seems like those ready to get their hands on the HTC One in Singapore yesterday (9/3/13) will have to wait quite some time longer. HTC has decided to abort the supposed launch of the One at the Singapore IT Show yesterday without giving any specific reasons. Carriers M1, Singtel and Starhub were getting prepped and ready for the launch with the launch gifts and offers and then suddenly announced that they're no longer offering the phone. And HTC finally responded and said that the One will be delayed until April at the very least. What do you think? Supply issue?
I saw a demo unit at one retailer, and I was kinda happy that we can still set up the number of home screen pages we want and not use blinkfeed, which I think is great. The price tag under the demo phone just wrote "Price to be announced".

Asus, you had me at "Intel Atom", but lost me when you didn't bring it to US sooner

Asus, you had me at "Intel Atom", but lost me when you didn't bring it to US sooner
You had your chance, I went a whole month 6 weeks without a phone because the Zenfone 2 was announced as launching March 9th, and it did, in Taiwan. My Galaxy Nexus broke in mid February and I've been holding out without a phone until the Asus Zenfone 2 came to the US. Aside from a couple Amazon sales of the 2GB/16GB unit, there has been no concrete information about the US release at all, just one or two websites claiming "spring". I had my eyes set on the 4GB 5.5" 64GB, top of the line model that was announced.
Now here we are, April 9th, and the S6 Edge is out tomorrow for T-Mobile, and still no word. Looks like Samsung earned my purchase this time.
Lol, you could have did what everyone else has been doing, import off of eBay. I've already had and sold one.
Dat markup though
Don't whine about the markup. That's basic supply and demand. If you were waiting as long as you say, then you had the opportunity to order it off eBay as soon as it became available when it was only like $350 shipped, which wasn't that much of a markup. I only payed $375. You'll pay a whole lot more for the S6 Edge in the long run lol.
Great replies Bl00d!

Exactly, and shots fired lol! Sure, the long awaited release of this phone was shaky with the availability, official global prices and a rough first run-through with software issues like any other early release. But most of us who chose the Zf2 over the S6/Edge or M9 knew we're getting a better overall deal for a decent quality midranger device, which will get better over time when the dust settles.

Not everything is about the US, Asia and EU launch is way more important especially for a budget phone. Asus also tends to sell unlocked which isn't very popular in the US. Blame your country.
Calm down evolution, it's coming to the USA on April 28th. Shouldn't be too long from now.

Asus said that there would be a press conference in New York on the 28th. For North Americans, that's when the official price will be announced.?

Everything I heard and read about the device was saying the end of March. It wasn't exactly communicated though which regions it would be released or available in though after that point. It was common knowledge it would be a Taiwan/Asia release then wherever else AFAIK. That's how Asus has operated before. I understand the impatience and can sympathize some. It still comes off as petulant though.

North American launch cancelled

I have just received notification that the Indiegogo N. American launch has been cancelled due to manufacturing delays. I am not personally that affected as I already have a phone and had only ordered the wireless charger through the Indiegogo campaign. However it is disappointing for the growth of Yota in general as getting this phone (which I am still impressed with after several months) into the hands of N. American consumers would have been great to increase its visibility in a large market.

Wow. How disappointing. I was supposed to get a free Yotaphone because of my application. People will be super pissed..
Manufacturing delays sounds like a bad excuse. They could have easily postponed the release if it was just a simple delay.
Disappointing indeed. Also the community could benefit from being a bit larger.
I ordered mine almost a month ago, from the swedish yotaphone site. One week without any info. One more week with the support trying to find out what's wrong.
Turned out that they were out and did not expect any more in until mid august.
Me being a bit impatient cancelled my order and bought a brand new on ebay for 4/5 of the price.
Then one more week trying to get a refund...
Anyway - got mine a week ago and am very glad for it.
Odd if they cancelled it though, and not just postponed it a bit

Agreed, the community could have used US users. But now that I've read more about the story the delay would have been months. Yota is planning to release a new device next year, so releasing an outdated device just before launching the new model would've been bad. So in that sense I understand their decision to cancel the launch altogether. This is such a PR nightmare that the decision must not have come easy.
I contacted them about my free device, and they said that they are keeping their promise about it. I was going for the international model anyway.
I am a US customer and I went ahead and took the option to get the international YD201 and join the community. It seems like not having LTE is a worthwhile sacrifice to get my hands on the phone as well as the advantage of being on the same firmware and software as the community here so I can join in helping with debugging and now know there is already a custom recovery and root method available for the device I will receive. I look forward to joining the community as one of the few US users.

Anyone else rather disappointed at how Google handled the release?

I find it quite unprofessional to have people pre order a device in September and have them arrive 2 months later. How can you announce your best phone ever (for both companies) and be so woefully prepared for the demand it might incur? I'm having second thoughts on getting the phone since I have no idea when I might receive mine since Google and Huawei have yet to get their act together in rolling out the product
Have you tried buying any previous nexus? By far the best release yet!
Doesn't your pre-order have a date? That would be the latest you would have your unit shipped.
No, I'm OK with it.
Yep, best by far. Especially after being involved with the 4, 5 and 6 failed launches!
This is my favorite so far. No issues thus far.
Best handling it this way rather than having people refresh the page every second because product went out of stock within 2 minutes of release.(previous nexus releases)
Very happy.
Order date: Sep 29, 2015 1:05:16 PM CDT Estimated delivery date: November 10 – 12, 2015.
Phone will be delivered to me tomorrow.
Ordering process yes. However... Shipping order is jacked up AGAIN. Ordered 9/29 within 15 min of link going live. 32GB Graphite. There are people with tracking information that purchased 10/21 and have shipping confimation while mine sits in processing purgatory. Card was final charged 3 days ago. Still hasn't gone anywhere. This happens to me every year.
Almost as bad as a Best Buy launch ....
I don't mind this release style at all. I really don't see what OP concern is. Google has turned a 'quickest to order before servers crash' to 'just order and be patient, we won't charge you'
Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk
Disappointment? That would imply I had expectations which conflict with what was promised. I have no such expectations.
In the announcement event, they simply said "later in October" concerning ship dates. During the preorder process, everything was clearly spelled out. How could I be disappointed? My only expectation is that the products I ordered will arrive safely by the time they indicated.
I'm pleased with the order process this time around. As for delays well that is common on pre orders these days. I'm just happy that I got to order, much better than trying to catch a one or two minute in stock window like in the past.
Disappointed, nah. one of the biggest tech company in world can't handle preorder. How the hell do you sell out preorder? Just take the damn order and give a 4-5 weeks eta. Don't tell me you can't get huawei to make your phones in 5 weeks.
I'm rather disappointed that Germany was not a part of the countries that could preorder it first. I simply don't get it...
It's a pain yes. But it happens this way every year. I'm just surprised they haven't fixed it much over the years. I'm waiting on a Frost 64GB - No one has gotten a Frost yet, so we'll see if the ship date is hit, Nov 2.

Like previous people have mentioned. Most (if not all) of the Nexus launches were pretty terrible.
I wasn't expecting much so no .. not disappointed.
I ordered, was given an estimated ship date and it has shipped early. I call that a success.

You do realise that these were pre-orders, right? This is exactly how the concept of a pre-order works.
Dissapointed, yes. The roll out in the US might be not that bad. But there are other countries besides US. In Europe we are still waiting to preorder. Such a slow rollout. Google needs to learn from Apple and bring their **** together and roll out the devices from day one.

Where to get it "from stock"

I ordered mine from efox-shop.com
Shipment by DHL Express was fast, but it takes around 5 working days (after the order/payment) until it is picked up by DHL and shipped from their Hong Kong warehouse.
So expect 5 - 10 working days before it reaches you. In Germany, DHL also does tax and VAT and collects the amount cash at delivery... Don´t know how that works in other Countries.
AOSP apk are easy to get in the Google Play Store (which is already installed and easy working).
Hope I could help.
best regards
Dietmar
According to Elephone Facebook site, US version will probably not be released until July. Originally, back in November, I was told January, then before April 20th and now it's July?
Have you got your phone already then? I've ordered mine via Elephonestore and am deciding whether I should cancel the order or not as they aren't clear when mine will be shipped.

No, I have not ordered yet. Been waiting for the US version, which they keep delaying and can not give me a definite date when it will be released. Makes you wonder about the quality of their work, when this is the way they do business.

Dunno let me know how it goes though. At most you'd probably get stung £20-£30 which isn't bad as it still puts the phone under £200 which seems about right. I'm deciding now whether I want to cancel with elephonestore and reorder this via another shop or go with a Xiaomi Mi4s or Redmi Note 3 Pro. Both around the same price but then I'd be losing NFC and Band 20 (not a big deal for me as I might switch from GiffGaff to EE if I do). Did order a £5 glass screen protector for the P9000 that hasn't arrived yet so might just write off that and just go with a different phone. Annoying thing is Xiaomi probably locks boot loader or isn't close to vanilla android. Lots of good phones out there for around the £200 mark!
I think a lot of people still awaiting shipment these days. Next weeks community will start with lots of discussions. Lets keep connected with first experiences of tax & device itself. @DaBountyHunter: I also thought about switching to Xiaomi or Redmi (Note) device, but will give the P9000 a chance first (i also like the NFC, QI-Charge, USB-C features and also i hope for a working gyro in the P9000). I have tested the Elephone Trunk for couple of days (handed over to a friend) and was pretty ok with the quality (also with 3 OTA updates within first weeks for the Trunk it seems that Elephone is working on ROM quality for their new devices).
Br Arangato
Personally I definitely wanted Android v6 Marshmallow, and neither of those two alternatives have I believe, but the P9000 has.
Yeah that's definitely one of the things that drew me towards the P9000. It's got everything there the only negative is the P10 is a bit underpowered but then all I do is surf the web... whatsapp and play Clash of Clans and it'll be fine for that. Just wish it was easier to get hold of !
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2s, it's a well made phone and before the most recent ota which redeemed my Neuxs 5x it was my daily driver but it's frustratingly poor Android experience. You can replace the launcher so it looks like something other than the bastard child of IOS but miui 7 is very very aggressive in killing background apps, which makes listening to music difficult so I'm hoping the P9000 with stock is a better experience. I'll let you know.

Was it via DHL? Thanks for reporting back. Wish I didn't waste time with Elephonestore and saw these people first. Please update if you do get Tax because sometimes they are crooks and send you a letter a week or two after you've received the goods. You can normally dispute the admin charge on that but you still have to pay the customs and vat unfortunately.
The shipping agent (from HK) was Netherlands (PostNL International Mail) then it was passed on to Royal-Mail to deliver, I didn’t have to sign anything, (but I was still in bed when the postman came) the package had a declared value of $75 US on it.
Cheers mate looks all good then! Hope you enjoy the phone !! Happy days !! also does yours come with the silicone case in the box as others have?
Also which shipping method did you choose as there's three there...
Registered airmail... german express... and dhl
I order my P9000 also at eFox. But since 02.04 the status is "Shipment ready to be shipped". Nothing happens
