Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

I have a problem, every time I sent a message, same without read confirmation, I get a toast notification saying 'message sent" after every message I sent.

Phoenix Rom ToolBox bug
Hello and good day, I'm new in this forum and to installing custom roms. I've encountered some force closing in toolbox when I tried putting a different app in it. After selecting the desired app and clicking save, I cannot edit the toolbox anymore. Please help . Thanks in advance.

Do you want to disable toast altogether? @Shepherd? You can alter these via xposed modules, can't for the life of me remember which one, I know xui mod allows you to change them but I don't know about removing then completely. Try and see.

A custom rom is usually flashed via either the internal or external memories, I prefer the external as you have the flexibility to remove it and copy another over if your phone is in a non bootable state.
Once you're rooted and have a custom recovery installed all you need to do is copy it over and flash it, no need for odin at that point, unless you want to flash a modem or bootloader.
Perhaps when android 5 comes along we'll be updating both the modem and bootloader but until that time you're just fine with what you have, a super wipe bare in mind will wipe everything, no OS left at all, so keep your ROM on your SD Card so you can flash it later.
Only reason you would need a super or mega wipe is if theres parts of your OS that have become undeletable or corrupt.
I wouldn't bother, just clean up your SD card (Internal) whilst connected to your PC and then perform a full wipe from within recovery and cache and dalvic, then flash a rom.
But if things are functional you don't even need to do that.
---------- Post added at 12:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:22 AM ----------
What state is your phone currently in?
IF it's stock then you will need to follow the instructions which are on the Foxhound main thread, I believe it's copied from another thread, NeatRom, if you follow it correctly your warranty will remain intact.
IF you're already rooted and have a custom recovery installed then simply copy the rom to your SD and flash it via recovery, you may need a separate kernel in order for the phone to boot properly. So grab that before wiping.
Always make a back up so you can revert back if things go wrong.

Thank you sir for the response. I was wondering if making the phone's internal a full wipe by using a script or something could really wipe everything inside the phones internal memory. As i've read here in the forums, The said script would wipe the whole internal memory therefore creating a lesser compatibility issue custom ROM after flashing. As I've stated earlier, I really wanted Phoenix ROM due to it's flavor and features. Though NeatROM is quite good itself( I'm not a developer ). For now, Phoenix ROM is okay after experiencing a bug with the ToolBox , then again i was able to remove the issue by doing a factory reset and the ToolBox feature was okay. So far so good as i can say proudly. Thank for the excellent instructions. Good day.

Click thanks if someone helps u bro.
No problem by the way, I only suggested neat rom as it has good guidance.
If you're already on Foxhound (phoenix) then in my opinion you have the best of the bunch, just wait for raffa to update it, the next rom will bring a good few changes and a lot of fixes.
Personally i find this version to be more than ok v1.1

One problem that I found is Wanam Xposed doesn't seems to be working like I choose the features I wanted and rebooted but nothing happened ...
I don't know if I am doing it properly or not ....
One more thing, you should add that double tap screen on gesture from HTC One M8 in your next updates. It will be wonderful .....

[GUIDE] Install CyanogenMod 7 on the SGS i9000 (and live to tell the tale)

OK, the CM7 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 has now hit the CM7 Mainstream and has matured in leaps and bounds over the last few weeks. The installation method has therefore ALSO matured by leaps and bounds.
However, there has been a downside to all that advancement...namely that there are lots and lots of incorrect install procedures floating around out there and even more misunderstandings as to what/how/when/why you install CM7 on your SGS i9000.
Therefore, this is intended to be the definitive guide about how to install CyanogenMod 7 (or CyanogenMod 7.1 if you are a stickler for such things since that is the most recent stable version but for the purposes of this guide it is STILL CM7) on the i9000 right here, right NOW. As things change, the first post of this thread will be updated.
If you have any questions/comments about the CM7 install procedure, post them here.
If you have any questions/comments about CM7's features, capabilities, battery life or anything OTHER THAN installing it...look HERE or HERE.
Before we do anything....make sure of the following:
* Your phone is fully charged.
* You have confirmed you can get into download/recovery with the three button method.
* You have used Titanium Backup to backup your apps (yes, there may be some factory defaulting happening soon).
* You have taken a Nandroid backup via Clockwork Mod, just in case the early steps go south.
* You have used a third party program to back up your SMS messages (if so desired)
* You have made your peace with your loved ones and said all your goodbyes...maybe left a nice note or something.
Remember, this will be one of the most harrowing, horrific experiences of your life. Grown men have been known to gnaw off their own legs during this procedure, unable to face the deepening horror their feeble minds cannot hope to comprehend.
Are you SURE you want to install CM7?
Very, VERY SURE?
OK, its your funeral, I am just here for the open bar.
OK, here we go....
FIRST STEP!!!!! THE PRE-INSTALLATION TANGO!!!!
Boy are you lucky to be doing this now. Recently CM7 was improved so that it works just fine with either Froyo or Gingerbread Bootloaders. It used to be that when you installed CM7 with Gingerbread bootloaders, a puppy died in agony. Now, the cuddly little puppies are safe thanks to the hard work of the CM7 Devs.
However, if for some strange reason you have still have Eclair installed currently, smash your head repeatedly against a wall for being such a stinking Luddite. Once you wake up, update to Froyo or Gingerbread and then come back and start this again. Plenty of threads on XDA will help you do that. Go read one and flash froyo or gingerbread via ODIN, we'll wait right here with the car running.
Don't know how to use ODIN? Not sure about all those little checkboxes? Befuddled by those driver thingies? Unsure how to click on the links above while using a Commodore64? Well, we won't wait in the car THAT long. If this is the case then you absolutely shouldn't be flashing CM7 yet my poor lost child, educate yourself for awhile and then come back, or just buy a used iPhone.
OK, still with me? ONWARDS.
SECOND STEP!!!!! THE NITTY GRITTY DETAILS, AKA THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM!!!!!
Here is the point where you need to do all sorts of things that you may have already done.
If you have already done them, GOOD, you are very, very clever and ahead of the game. Give yourself a gold star.
If you don't know how to do any of these things, then you shouldn't be here yet. Go search for things you don't understand in the general and Q&A forums for the i9000 and when you feel you are better grounded in the arcane mysteries of flashing custom ROMS, come back and we will have a joyous reunion and try this again.
OK, so what do you do in STEP TWO?
* Doublecheck that you can indeed get into Download Mode using Vol Down+PWR+Home, and into Recovery with Vol Up+PWR+Home. If not, go away and search XDA for a way to fix that.
* Root your phone.
* Confirm you have Clockwork Mod recovery running. If not, use Odin to flash this Speedmod kernel if you are on Froyo. If you are on Gingerbread flash the TalonDev kernel using the v2.2 tar (yes I know the TalonDev kernel has lagfix automatically enabled, but as your file system will be grabbed and ripped out still beating and then replaced with a better one by the CM7 Installer, it really doesn't matter). There are two different versions of the v2.2 tar available but don't panic. Use TalonDEV-0.2.2R2-I9000-1200-JVP.tar first...if that doesn't work for you, try TalonDEV-0.2.2R2-I9000-JVP.tar. One of the two should work for you. (Thanks to chan1628 for testing them the hard way)
* Install ROM Manager (I STRONGLY suggest you buy the Premium version if possible to make flashing Nightlies easier. It is quite cheap with a lot of great features and is one of the core apps you will use on your phone from here on in...plus Koush deserves your support).
* Take another nandroid backup (even if you took one already) and confirm your Titanium Backup is up to date (and includes a backup of ROM Manager).
* Confirm that you are rooted.
* Backup your contacts to either Exchange, Gmail or your SIM card.
* Write down your correct APNs and your IMEI, just in case.
* Take a backup of your efs folder and save it somewhere.
* Post a note on your monitor reminding yourself to breathe.
* Say goodbye to your Samsung apps like Snap2Go and Daily Briefing, they won't work with CM7.
* Pour yourself a stiff drink
Confused? Not sure how to root your phone or worried about voiding your warranty? Really curious about what these APN things and where can you find them? Hoping to sync your phone with iTunes once CM7 is installed? Then go away, do some searching, get up to speed and I will see you later. I mean it...avaunt ye. Scram. Exeunt with all due alacrity. Happy reading.
Also, if you are getting errors concerning CWM, or cannot get into CWM3 Recovery, then search XDA (or the comments to this thread) for a solution. I cannot help you. I am not an expert on Clockwork Mod, I am just here to get CM7 running for you, or kill you and steal your girlfriend in the attempt. Clockwork Mod is YOUR lookout.
Still here? Did all that? CWM Recovery working properly? Crossed all your i's and dotted your t's? Forward then. Things get REALLY BAD from here on in. Whatever happens next, I am truly, truly sorry.
THIRD STEP!!!!!! THE COMPLEX, AGONIZING EXPERIENCE OF FLASHING THE ROM ITSELF!!!
Are you sure you are ready for this? Are you quite, QUITE sure?
It is not too late to turn back....and if you do no one will think less of you. I promise.
Positive you are where you want to be?
Brave, brave darling. Take my hand and lets do this then....there are two possible methods to use now that you are at the Third Step..Method the First uses the ROM Manager and is by far the simpler of the two. However if the ROM Manager doesn't work for you or if you have a sudden premonition of flaming disaster about it....don't cry. Man up and go to the manual method listed after Method the First, known quite coincidentally as Method the Second.
Method the First!
Open ROM Manager from your App Drawer.
Select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.
When it asks you what phone you are using, scroll down until you find Galaxy S MTD and select it (Galaxy S is what CM7 calls the i9000 series...CM7 is weird that way).
When it asks what version to use, select CMW3.
By the way, if ROM Manager tries to argue with you during this process, or tells you your phone may not be supported, ignore it and click OK or Continue or whatever it takes. It just worries over what you may be about to do to yourself.
Confirm that under Flash ClockworkMod Recovery it now reads Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 3.x.x.x. This means that now you should be able to see CyanogenMod zips and nightlies (if you have ROM Manager Premium) in ROM Manager. Hoorah!
Now, the moment of truth arrives...select Download ROM.
Next close your little eyes tightly and select CyanogenMod or CyanogenMod Nightlies (if you see that one). Either one will do.
Down the road, you will use the CyanogenMod Nightlies files to update...assuming you survive the next 15 minutes. However when installing you can use the single file in the CyanogenMod folder (there for Free users) or the latest Nightly in the CyanogenMod Nightlies folder...same difference.
So click the file of your choice and stand back...well, not too far back because there is more stuff you have to do.
If/when you are asked if you wish to reinstall Google Apps, it is highly recommended that you do so, so check the little box. This saves many headaches and potential fc's down the line.
When you are asked what you wish to do to prepare for the new ROM, you can choose to do another Nandroid Backup, Clear Data and Cache (wiping the device) and/or Clear the Data Cache. No need for another Nandroid backup, but select the other two and hit OK.
Now let the ROM Manager make some magic. It will take a couple minutes but likely not nearly as long as you expect, so go out and make tea or paint the Sistine Chapel or something.
While you are gone your device will do all the wiping and installing, back up your efs folder and apply the new file system you will need. You will NOT need to apply any lagfix or mess about with tweaks or whatnot....CM7 does it all for you and no other options are possible....so don't ask.
Method the Second!
If for whatever reason you are having trouble working with ROM Manager in the previous method and are therefore stuck, you can do the following to flash CM7 manually.....but if you have a weak heart or tend to get squeamish...I implore you to look away.
Download this most recent version of CM7 from http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=galaxysmtd
Then download the most recent set of Google Apps from http://goo-inside.me/gapps
Place both on your SD card.
Go into Recovery using the handy-dandy Three Button Skidoo (NOT by using the command "Reboot to Recovery" found in ROM Manager...you have been warned).
Do a Factory Reset (wiping data so if you forgot to backup your apps before....whoops)
Wipe the Dalvik and Cache (just in case).
Select Install Zip from SD Card and flash first the CM7 zip, and then the gapps zip. No need to reboot in between. Finally fix permissions.
NOTE: If you are one of those people who have done some research and have also downloaded one of the CM7 custom kernels which you wish to flash as part of your install (if you haven't don't worry about it, I don't recommend using a custom kernel before you have spent some time with the stock kernel, but some people think they are 1337)...make certain you flash the Nightly BEFORE the custom kernel, otherwise you will totally confuse the installer and very bad things will happen which will require you to flash back to a Samsung ROM using ODIN and start all over again.
Once everything has completed, THEN reboot into CM7 (HOO-RAH) and continue to the Fourth Step. Hurry, hurry, scroll back up....
GO!!!
Oh, WAIT A MINUTE....When you have done all the stuff in the Fourth Step, do this too...go to ROM Manager, and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. ID your phone as Galaxy S MTD when it asks and select CWM3...it will tell you that your phone is not supported or some such but have it install it anyway. What the heck does it know. Doing so will ensure you can find your the Nightly updates using ROM Manager Premium in the future.
OK, now go on to the Fourth Step...really this time...
GO! GO!
FOURTH STEP!!!!! STEP OUT INTO THE LIGHT AND BREATHE THE FREE AIR
That's it, you are done. Throw back that drink now...or if you don't want it, I'll take it.
Your phone will show the CM7 SGS splash screen for a bit, then the CM7 boot animation for a while longer (spin, spin, spin)...and then you will be in CyanogenMod 7.
If you find that the boot animation never seems to end, or keeps restarting...DON'T PANIC. This happens to some people when flashing CM7 for the first time. Just go to recovery and flash the Nightly again, you should be fine. If you used ROM Manager the first time, the nightly will be in the ROM Manager folder on your SD card.
Where is all the pain, the agony, the brain bending complexity reducing scholars to madness that I warned you about?
OK, I lied...but I had to make sure you were serious.
Now restore your apps (remember that is best to do fresh from the Market, but if you use TB then be sure to reinstall just the APP, not APP + DATA, and NO SYSTEM APPS) and put all your contacts and email addresses back and so on.
Also, remember that your external SD card is now located in the /emmc directory. Why? Because that is how it is in CM7, so cope. It really is NOT that tough to get used to. However, if you want to have some kicks, go into the CM7 Dev thread and ask where your external_sd card has gone a few times to watch people go berzerk yelling at you. Fun, fun, fun.
From here on in, you can install nightly updates to stay on the bleeding edge of CyanogenMod, as well as to allow yourself to experience the terror of waiting for that boot animation to stop again and again and again. You can look at the Nightly Wiki for instructions on different flashing strategies.
You may also install custom kernels and alternate modems via Recovery if you wish, but be sure that they are CM7 compatible. The ones you used back on Samsung ROMs won't work for you any more.
Carry on, and enjoy your new ROM.
As always, if this procedure bricked anything or gave your dog syphilis, it isn't my fault. By God, I WARNED you. If you liked it, or it worked out well for you, feel free to click Thanks and heap praise in the comments.
Finally, all due honour and thanks to the incredible Devs and Maintainers of TeamHacksung and the SGSTEAM listed below. Find their profiles and donate to them, they have earned it.

No. The premium version is only required to download nightlies directly through the app. Download them manually, then point rom manager at the zip on your sdcard & install.

Not the install, that is free as far as I know. Installing nightlies via ROM Manager needs Premium. Plus I suggested people buy Premium anyway.

upgrading to latest
just to clarify, I'm (thanks to you!) on v11 due to some people suggesting me that version over v14. After reading some I would like to flash the new experimental build (v15?) in order to do so I:
1) charge it up
2) do a nandroid backup /done
3) wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache in CMW /not sure about this, I've read some diferent post about what to wipe. Some said that when upgrading only cache + dalvik will do just fine. This is the main issue.
4) flash the v15 (update-cm-7-05282011-NIGHTLY-GalaxyS-signed.zip) through CMW
+ all that other stuff like preparing myself for long agonizing experience and stuff

You are quite correct...when upgrading all you need to do is wipe dalvik cache. You can also take a nandroid backup if you wish to be extra careful but there is no need to wipe data for an upgrade.

I also replied to your question on DroidRzr.com.
When you create a new ROM slot in SS, all it does is setup the partitions for you to safely flash a new ROM. After the ROM slot is created, you need to choose the "Install" option for that ROM slot. Then, you will choose the "Energy ROM" zip from your SD. Make sure you only install aftermarket ROMs in one of the additional ROM slots, not in stock. Once you are comfortable with the new ROM, there are ways to install the ROM in the stock slot, but that will come in play later on

Once you are comfortable with the new ROM, there are ways to install the ROM in the stock slot, but that will come in play later on

He nailed it. I will note that you say you have as 3.11. The latest for the RAZR M is 3.12. It can be found on droidrzr.com. Good luck!

I installed V3.12, although in the applications view it says V3.12 and when I go to the safestrap recovery it says v3.11 (TWRP v2.2.2.1) strange ??
I go in Boot Options/ROM-Slot-1 chose wither 1GB, or 2GB or 3GB while System partition size of 1024MB and Cache partition size of 300 MB are already selected, at the bottom I see "Free Space:0MB (while I still have 10GB of SD and 3GB of internal free memory). Create ROM slot button does notv respond or does nothing when I press it.
Can you please help? Gene

Safestrap must not be recognizing the free space on your internal sd card. I would recommend uninstalling safestrap, just to be safe confirm your root with root checker, and then install safestrap again. Just use a 1 gb rom slot to avoid any problems that may be occuring due to memory. Post back if the problem persists.

Hi, I finally was able to install the ROM and power the phone up, but cannot really enjoy it, because cannot use company emails... My company requires storage formatting and wile this option exist on this ROM, it looks like it does not work, neither through the option provided via exchange remote service nor locally by going to settings\ security\format. Is there an option to do that? Also I am constantly running on the low memory. I wiped all apps from stock rom slot, did factory reset and wiped cashe etc, allocated 2gb to Rom slot1 and after installing rom there, before any apps installed, I only have 1.1gb free. Is there any way to increase storage? Last but not least camera with phosphere works even kind of in sphere mode, but the alignment movement is as slow as it could possibly be, it takes a min to move from first picture to the second. Did any guys experienced that?
Thanks a lot in advance for help---Gene

As far as the email goes, I'm not sure. I'm not sure which ROM you're using now, but I believe that the 4.2 camera that is available on the ROMs for our phone isn't fully functional yet. Last I checked photoshpere doesn't work, but I could be wrong. The way I increased storage on my phone was to install my new ROM on to the stock partition. This is possible with safestrap, but you will want to make sure you have a backup of your stock ROM just in case something goes wrong. Once you make the backup of your stock ROM, download the custom ROM on to a different partition and set it up as you like. Then, make a backup of the custom ROM in recovery. Delete the partition that you created for the custom ROM and RESTORE the custom ROM backup on the stock partition. Restoring is important because installing does not work (I bricked my phone doing that). Then install safestrap on your new custom ROM and enjoy all the free space you had with your stock ROM!

Okay, so here is the issue that I'm having. I have everything set up (SafeStrap, downloaded Eclipse v1.2 ROM, have it saved to my SD card), but when I go to actually flash the ROM, the screen says that it failed/unable to flash. I've tried removing the ROM slot, creating it again, and still getting the same issue. Also tried going into the stock recovery and clearing the cache partition from there, wiping the data, etc. Still got nothing. So now I'm really confused as far as what the problem is?

It's been a while since I've used SafeStrap so I'm not completely sure what the issue could be. Are you opposed to unlocking your bootloader? If not, there's a great selection of ROMs out there that are very amazing. Our phone has been receiving a lot of dev support lately and they have put much time in to some of these newer ROMs. I would recommend unlocking and installing a custom recovery to flash these with. There are many stock based ROMs out there that you can choose from if you prefer those, or there is a great deal of CM support as well. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message and I can walk you through the steps of unlocking and installing a custom recovery!

Well here's the thing. I don't think that I can unlock my bootloader now. I've tried using the steps that were provided, but I guess that since I just got the phone a few days ago, it's downright impossible for me to do so. That's why I installed SafeStrap - because of that issue. If it was possible for me to unlock my bootloader now, I sure as heck would rather do that than go through the process I've gone through for the past couple of days. I will send you a message, and maybe you can help me out with unlocking the bootloader if it's possible?
http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2013/04/08/motorola-bootloader-unlocking/
This is the only way that Ive been able to unlock my bootloader, run this utility and if it says Status code: 3 you are in luck! Even if it doesnt have the Unlocked Bootloader Warning upon startup you still are unlocked.
Good luck!

Exactly - if coming from All-F2FS in recovery put cache and data back to ext4 otherwise when you boot it will think your tablet is encrypted and ask for a password!

Known incompatible for now. Rest assured it'll be fixed by the ota ?
For those of you still having issues -- make absolutely sure that you've wiped And repaired the cache, data, and system partitions, under TWRP's advanced menu (you have to select each 1 at at time). It takes like 1-2 secs per partition. Without the repair option, you're gonna be stuck on the Google logo forvever.
THEN restart once repaired wiped repaired, and flashed, and don't bother to let TWRP install SuperSU, as the ROM already has it.

@nickmv is that if you're coming from a f2fs Rom or for everyone?

Latest GApps newly linked in OP has a working Google+
There is broken "Ok Google" hotword as well as voice search. It just won't listen to me
First off let me say this is awesome and really breathed new life into my old N7! Secondly I used the Tap & Go setup method from an GPE One M8 and it didn't really work all the way but whatever.
The issue is there is now an undismissable notification on my M8 saying setup completed. Any ideas how to get rid of this?
Oh and also has Face Unlock ever been present on the Nexus? Wanted to try it out but wasn't listed as an option. Thanks a ton!

I cannot log into play store since upgrading to lollipop. How can I fix this?
Sent from my AOSP on Grouper using XDA Free mobile app
Successfully installed via multirom, however play store crashes when opened.

When installing the GApps package I get this error: E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/data/media/0/sideload.zip'
I originally got a different one but I remembered I was on the "buggy" 2.7.1.1 version so I updated to latest 2.8.1.1 version and well...this. I've wiped my data/cache/system/all of it and repaired the data n cache and then did this all and still a no go. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something? The only issue I noticed listed for this was the recovery I used.

Yes originally it was but I managed to fix it by re-doing it all over again w system repair too, though I believe it was doing it over again that fixed it the system repair could've helped. Anyways new issues now, TWRP claims I have no OS....yet here I am....booted in 5.0 w GApps. Oh well nothing to be upset by I guess, least I fixed it.

Glad to hear it! Sometimes /system remains mounted so TWRP will incorrectly report missing OS
I guess the mic doesn't work, Shazam doesn't work?
Works great so far! Only issue appears to be the volume buttons (when used for notification volume) results in crashing.

Test
Hello.
I just settle the cm.-12. I'm testing it. and I've got no problem superuser. have to skip the 1st settings because you have no keyboard, you'll settings and activate and configure and arranged. I keep trying. -The Zoom cam remains. (As in CM-11) -Do not let me install anything because I advised that I have no space on any partition, is false, I have two gb in every hole, did you three wipes data / cache / davil -cache, and still have all the folders in the CM-11, so do not let me install anything, I'll format the card and make the wipes again.
-After Format and partition the sd I keep saying there is no space, internally or externally but recognizes both and the huge space there is both internal and external looks, not let me install apps, anyone know how to fix this?
My thanks to those who made this great work.
lte work !!
@kostoulhs Lollipop uses more storage because of the way ART operates.
As AnandTech explains in a post from July 1st:
"The big paradigm-shift that ART brings, is that instead of being a Just-in-Time (JIT) compiler, it now compiles application code Ahead-of-Time (AOT). The runtime goes from having to compile from bytecode to native code each time you run an application, to having it to do it only once, and any subsequent execution from that point forward is done from the existing compiled native code.
Of course, these native translations of the applications take up space, and this new methodology is something that has been made possible today only due to the vast increases in available storage space on today’s devices, a big shift from the early beginnings of Android devices."
Cheers

Hi,
is ist really necessary to install the new CWM and do we have to format the system?
I installed build 20141122 and have a huge battery drain. The settings show that the phone is always active. It is never in real Stand-By. In the CM 11 - Version for the I-8730 there was also a build that had this huge battery drain.
Am I the only one, who has it? I installed it correctly.
Thanks,

Maybe it's related with the modem, look for that and get some information how to flash the correct one.
I don't know what custom ROMs you had problems with but some need specific firmware to be flashed in order for things to work right. Usually that information is somewhere in the description of the ROM features and sometimes download links are also included. When you flashed custom ROMs did you clean flash them? You need to wipe the cache, system and data when changing ROMs. You also might need to flash back to stock before flashing some custom ROMs but if that's the case it should say that in the instructions for the ROM.

if you are trying to use lineageos 15 for your daily driver you are insane. Just use stock oxygen or freedomOS. Oreo is not official on OP5 yet you cant expect to use it and have it be flawless. Most apps i use dont even run on Oreo when i tried it. just revert.

Yes im sure the answer is actually as simple as wiping the device completely. Wipe all partitions and then format data. When formatting data if you forget to fix your internal storage rights you cant download anything so make sure you go to advanced then fix contents in twrp before installing stock oxygen. Once it is done boot the phone and let it go and try to connect to wifi. If you can then wipe your phone out and reinstall LAOS 15

Just tried this while installing ViperOS v3.0. No Luck...
This also happens when trying to install other roms such as AICP and Slimrom 7.
Any ideas?

Yea use twrp 3.1.1-1 to install the latest stock 4.5.13. make sure you wipe everything and re format everything. Just drop your necessary files onto a secondary source like a pc or google drive. After u wipe that stuff out reboot back to recovery. Go to advanced on the main menu and and fix contents. Do not skip this step or you wont have storage permissions which is necessary for installing roms properly. After that ensure everything is mounted on the mount section in the main menu. U should see a "firmware" option added as well, be sure that is checked too. Install stock 4.5.13 and see if wifi works. It should, if not it could be a hardware issue.

Gonna do a second post for another manner on this topic. Just use stock. Aint nothing wrong with it, its actually beautiful. Dont listen to whoever says its bloated or whatever. Its all allowed to be disabled if u dont want it. Stock rom with stock kernel is far better than any rom or kernel out there. Think of it this way, you have a device that an entire company made sure the software worked on that specific device as opposed to a single person or a group of 5 or so people made software that needs to run on any device. IE Lineage/Aosp and whatever customized stock oxygenos is out there. I use stock and stock kernel with kernel adiutor to disable some kernel features i dont need like input boost for example to save a lot of juice. I always test certain scripts for stock oxygen on the 3t and the 5 to maximize battery. I play with linux a lot so i merely tweak a few settings and turn some stuff off and on and run whatever for about a week to see which script works best for battery life and performance. Gotta say i cant pull certain SoTs or performance tests off stock because of instability or them being simply inferior. Flashing a bunch of things is cool but try to simmer down and come back to stock after youve exhausted all possibility of gaining more battery time.
I do have WiFi on stock roms and all OOS roms, just a heads up. Every time I flash them I am good on WiFi.
I'll be sure to check out the fix contents button in recovery.
So to flash CM roms and AOSP I should do this...
Flash Stock 4.5.13 > wipe > format > fix contents> check mounts (firmware checked) > flash custom roms
