I just went to go check out a galaxy note 4 and it did not feel to big in my hands so I'm even more confident now that the nexus 6 will be perfect.

Held a customers iphone 6 plus today, felt great only thing i didnt like was how thin it was and non egronomic. the flat back was unappealing the size was amazing!
i have the same feeling nexus will be perfect for me, and i have huge palms and stubby fingers!

I like six inch phones. Loved the Lumia 1520, so this is just fine for me.

Size is fine since Its a phablet!

I'm good with the size. I'm a phablet veteran at this point!

Needs another option:
Too big, but buying anyway.

I also checked the iPhone 6 plus today and I don't mind the size. Nexus 6 would be much better to grip because the curvature. IPhone 6 plus is bad with grip, too thin and slippery.
My only concern is how to carry it.
I always put my phone in my front jeans pocket, alone. I made a mockup from cardboard and found it might be uncomfortable, with more than 1 cm out of pocket.
Probably I am going to enlarge my jeans pocket!

First Thoughts...

What's the first thought that went through your head, not a series, just the first thing upon holding it in your hand.
mine was 'HOLY **** THAT'S HUGE!'
Same here. It's a BIG phone. Almost too big.
Ditto. The sheer size of it was what shocked me. The screen size alone is the same size as my whole Hero.
I wasnt shocked due to the fact that i had an HD2 for a while....its pretty much the same dimensions. I was more impressed with Android (my 1st Android device ).
My only gripe is that, where i rest my ear while on the phone is uncomfortable,....trying to figure a solution to it now.
Yeah, I like a smart PHONE, the operative word being phone. I love extra capabilities, but in the end it is a phone. The Hero fits nicely on my hip (with the seidio case and holster). The EVO may feel huge on my hip. It's more like a multi-function device. Hoever, the sheer power of it may make me consider upgrading at some point.
I tell you this. This phone is stretching my pockets.
Are many of you oompa loompas? It's not that much bigger than the Iphone. Taller but not that much wider.
ya seriously its really not that big..its the same height as my nexus one and quarter inch wider fits perfectly in my pocket

No, are you a giant? For my personal taste even the iPhone is a little big. So saying it's not much bigger than the iPhone doesn't change my opinion.
It fits just fine in my jean pocket also. After seeing the seido innocase + belt clip on a evo at BB when I got mine I had to get it. On my belt it really wasnt that much more then my current HTC Hermes that I've had before.
I was concerned about the size of the phone also but its all good now..The only issue i have really is the width of the phone sometimes makes it difficult for one hand operation. Man I love this screen! I couldn't see myself going any bigger screen wise though.

is this phone too good?

I have been using my nexus 4 on at&t's network for a little over a month now and I cannot find one downfall of this phone... I applied a Dbrand black leather sticker on the back glass and that just made the phone feel more professional.. almost like a blackberry 9900. (but more functional) My question is, has anyone found a phone that can shake a stick at the nexus 4 as far as fit and function. I have a Htc One and i am thinking of returning it because I see myself using the nexus 4 and leaving the one at home more often then not.

I'm a fan of the N4 but you have to be realistic. There are plenty of phones now which can easily be considered better than it (e.g. HTC One, S4, LG OG Pro, Xperia Z) and while none of them are anywhere near as good a deal as the N4, most are better phones for the majority. Only a few people actually care about updates outside of XDA and don't really know how awesome stock Android is compared to other UIs.

Yes it's too good
I wasn't really impressed with the S4 or the HTC one tbh. Overpriced for basically the same specs you get with the N4. Samsung phones are loaded with bloat now,and feel like a hollow plastic toy. You can hardly tell its android anymore with the TW bloat interface. Yea the HTC one has a nice build quality, but is it really worth shelling out almost 700$ for? I don't think so. I will never buy another non nexus device again. (All personal opinion) I am extremely happy with my N4. I haven't had 1 single issue with it. I get 2.5 days of heavy use and about 5 hours screen on time with my ROM kernel combo. And for 350$ you cant beat it.
Keep the Nexus, return the One.

Now the rumors of the Note 3 being like 6 inches or so, now that's comical.
The current 5.5 is fine to me.

Yea don't get me wrong, it is a really nice phone. The screen is large and vibrant. The specs are great. I just think its too large, by the time you get a case on it, its even bigger. It would drive me nuts in my pocket.

Ergonomics of the Nexus 6

For its size it's a surprisingly easy phone to use & that's with a case on it too. My last really large phone was the Note 2 & I couldn't get on with that at all so sent it back in the fourteen day period. Think the curved back makes a lot of difference in this respect. I haven't quite got the hang of two handed typing on it yet but I'm getting there. I was intending to use this as my second phone but I'm now thinking of selling my iPhone 6 & using this as my main device.[emoji3]
Was just wondering how others of you find it to use as a larger phone?
Its brilliantly constructed and as ergonomic as any phone made to date IMO!
Agreed. The curved back sits nice in my hand.
Good to hear. I've been using a GPe M8 and I actually don't like the feel of it in my hand. Makes me long for my N5. I'll be returning it for an N6 soon, I think.
I find it really easy to use. I use it one hand most of the time. It has gotten even better with reducing the dpi setting to 380, now i can type entire emails with one hand with swiping gestures. I am really glad I got this after seriously considering the moto x because of its size.
I still feel like I'm going to drop it all the time and am undecided if I like a phone this big. I'm still in the honeymoon phase I think. Having said that I like the feel of it. Feels better than holding a note 2. The note 4 might feel better to me though (my wife has one).
I have been getting progressively bigger devices over the last several years. S3 to s4 to s5 and now the n6 which is quite a jump. To be honest I thought the s5 was a little to big bit for some reason the n6 even though larger for the hand well

It is slippery on its back side especially in cold dry weather. Have you tried a case yet
Personally I prefer using it with a case because the microusb cutout at the base of the device makes for a nice pinky rest.

I find a case helps with that. Only problem with the case I use is it makes the buttons on the side hard to reach.
My cruzerlite case offers plenty of grippy surface. Minimal risk of dropping with it on

Anyone else coming from N5? How are you adjusting?

I'm coming from the Nexus 5 and I was worried about the size of the N6P. I went to best buy and messed with the iPhone 6s plus to get a feel for the size and it didn't seem too bad but now that I got it, it seems bigger even though they are pretty much the same. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet but its gonna take some adjusting.
Anyone got any stories of how they been adjusting? No more one handed use for me.. Well for some things I probably can still use one hand but for a lot of things.. Not soo much.
Yes I just came from the n5. The first 5 days honestly I didn't like this phone. It's just too damn big. But now I'm starting to love it. I swore for 2 years I would not use these huge phones but I might be coming around.
I skipped the N6, had to jump on the 6P though. I adjusted fine. This was after doing nothing but crying about just wanting an N5 refresh. After looking at the 5X and 6P the decision was easy.
My N5 looks so small in my hand now. All that needs to happen now is that jeans front pockets are made maybe an inch or two deeper. No I don't wear skinny jeans. And I'm about 6'2" so I haven't had much problem with the size, just a muscle memory adjustment like every other new phone.
Also hate cases and screen protectors, using it naked. Loving it.

Yeah I'm the same way. I skipped the N6 and even when they were announced I was like no that's too big and I always just wanted a 5 refresh but something about the 6P caught my attention at some point.
I prefer cases and screen protectors though lol
I used both my N6 and N5 and originally was going to upgrade the N5 to the N5X. I didn't like the memory options of the N5X and got the N6P instead. I was really becoming uncomfortable with the N5 due to its feeling too small compared to the N6, which is my primary phone. Now with the N6P I can move easily between the two.
2 years with my Nexus 5. Almost a week with My Nexus 6p. Love it. Now when I pick up my Nexus 5. It seem so small lol.
Picked up my N5 yesterday after a week with the 6P and it felt wrong. Far too small and bulky. Only thing I would have changed it to move the volume buttons up higher as you can nudge them reaching across to press the far side of the screen. Other than that I can't fault its size or feel.
I used the N5 for a whole year. Then I got the N6, and I adjusted fine, but I missed the perfect size of the N5. Now I got the N6P, and it's much better in the hand than the N6, so no problems here, I'm loving this phone!
Less than a week with 6P, and adjusting. Love it!
Pickup the 5 (using it now) Love it!
Need a case with a SIM cutout...

Came from a N5 after skipping N6 and only took a few hours to get used to the 6P. Phone is great but had to tweak resolution as, like the N5, text was too big. Now running 500 instead of default of 560.

The phones sizes are now becoming like TV. When you move from 32 inch to 55 inch screen for the first couple of days it looks so big. And after a while you feel like, damn I should have gotten the 65 inch instead. Same will be true for the big screen smartphone. At first it looks to big, bulky, and ugly. After getting used to, once you'll hold back the Nexus 5, you'll feel like you are holding a baby and you'll quickly look for your Nexus 6P [emoji4]

Love 99.9% of the Pixel :)

Man this phone is sweet. Display, sound build quality camera software all awesome. But the one thing I do not like at all is the chins on the is phone. Man they are huge. If I compare it to the Nexus 5 or 5X or the 6P these chins are like twice as big. I wonder what the heck Google was thinking when they did that. No screen protector on mine or case, the phone is a tad slippery as well. But I got that $4.99 a month insurance from Google so that should cover me...

I wish I could get the old Nexus ones back. I'll be installing Zedge soon.
Loving it here too, a bit wary of the battery life so far but it is far too early to draw any conclusions as Android does take a while to settle.
Really impressed with how responsive the phone is - passed it around my colleagues at work and they all commented on it.
It is also really nice to be able to sit down with a phone in my pocket without it jabbing me and being uncomfortable like the 6P was.
Agreed. Initially when the pics started leaking and everyone was freaking out about the chins I was thinking "they're not that bad"... Once in hand I was like "yeah, they're bad".
Phone is much taller than it should have been imho.
Loving everything else about it so far though.
Can't wait to get root.

Comparing to my N5X the fingerprint sensor is higher up, almost to the equivalent increase in chin size. Really feels off when using the fingerprint sensor for me.

How did you get that? When I purchased the phone, the insurance was a flat rate of $99. I went back and checked and I still don't see a $4.99/month plan. Am I looking in the wrong area?
EDIT: nevermind...I see. You're a Project Fi customer. Y'all get the month-month payments...lucky
I've had the Pixel since Friday but only really spent time with it this afternoon/evening. I also purchased the Axon7 so I ha e been testing that one out up till today. I have to say I do like the Pixel very much. I have no case of screen protector so I was hesitant to use but since I'm 90% sure I'm sending it back I took it to work. Form factor is very nice although I must admit that going from N5x to A7 to Pix I do notice the smaller screen. It's very clean though. Way better than my N5x and not to sure about A7 because I still have factory screen protector on. I can say though it feels very delicate in the hands, like I need to be careful(slippery to). I will straight up admit that if the Pixel was $500 I wouldn't even think twice, it would stay. Just don't think I can justify$730 for a phone. Not with how nice midrange phones are and the price they fetch. Plus I have 7.1.1 on my N5x along with Google Assistant. Who knows though, I still have 8 days left to decide.

$5*24 months = $120, you paid less for insurance though...
Really, the chin is no where near as bad as I thought it would be or how people say it would be.
The design is very consistent, symmetrical and balanced. The front looks like a better version of the iPhone, with the omission of the ugly home button. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the back, even though it has grown in me. If anything, the back is my gripe much more than the chin. Never noticed the bezels.
Sent from my Pixel using XDA-Developers mobile app
Just got mine yesterday, so not much time on it.
I actually think it has really good grip naked compared to other phones, but i always use a slim case.
My only gripes are bezels and some os/launcher options or lack of options. Otherwise it's a near perfect phone for my needs. Google will fix/add some of my concerns in upcoming updates
Yes price is high but it was built to compete with apple/Samsung, so its priced right. Although appl/Samsung are overpriced...hahaha
I put mine on the t-mobile promo, so i will get some credit back. Won't get the full $325 cause i change phones 1-2 times a yr. This one will probably make a full yr.
Hmm I think the chins are about the same as 5X. The 5X did have that front facing speaker on the front. If Pixel had that I think it would save it from being complained about.
yeah... to me the weirdest thing about the bottom chin is that it's just blank. Nothing there except chin -- no button, no speaker, just unused space. Every time I pick up a pixel I just wish they could have made it about 5mm shorter
I'm ok with the chin. Actually the Caseology parallax case changed the way I hold my phone so much I barely even notice (always had a pinky rest on the gigantic chin). The back of this case is amazing for grip.
The only sad thing for me and for lots of others it seems? The downward firing speaker. It sounds clear. It's soo easy to cover. Coming from a 6p and a 5x even, it's just a massive bummer. Even the 5x was aok.

Are you guys using the regular display mode or the srgb one?
In my opinion the colors in the regular mode are too punchy and the srgb is quite nice, just the whites turn quite yellowish unfortunately.
I am completely loving this phone right now. I was a bit weary of it being an HTC phone since my only experience with HTC was the HTC One and it was a TERRIBLE phone all around. The One was probably the worst phone I've ever had, so it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
Other than that, the (IMO) minimalist feel and the fact that the phone just works is making me very happy. So far that's without root or anything. If there were a way to get unlocked hotspot without root that would be icing on the cake. I probably wouldn't even root or mod anything else if I had hotspot working
