Usually 1 week,sometimes 2-4 weeks or even don't release.
So I can't confirm when will it be released.

What are the changes and improvements in this update? Only two things I'm looking forward to is camera improvements and loudersound from the earpiece.
Maybe they fixed camera issues after bl unlocking. There are should be pretty many changes, i guess.

Look at Post #3 - but probably only certain carrier versions, if ever.
FYI - none of us work for Sony, so we never have this info.
something worth adding.. unless a required bug you need fixed or some new feature you need, I wouldn't be rushing to update. until we have root we may need (who knows) to be on an older version (for whatever exploit is found) to root. happened on z ultra and downgrading to root was annoying. Guess old ftf does the same.. #justsaying

Yes, I could see that for the D6653 and D5833. Interesting thing is that this 23.0.A.2.108 got certified a few days later (on Oct 21, 2014) then the newer FW version 23.0.1.A.1.38 already certified on Oct 15, 2014. Sony continues to spit out one update/fix after another and in conjunction with the recent announcement to gradually upgrade all Z series devices to Android 5 it looks as if they really understood and improve. Very good, I'm a happy customer

Which region/branding is this? I don't have this one (1274-1558) in my list and I cannot find it anywhere online.

How is this ROM compared to .244 firmware when it comes to 1) performance, 2) battery and 3) camera performance?

updated yesterday. The camera takes a little longer to load ( 2 seconds give or take)
havent fully tested for the battery.
The camera seems to find the targets much faster, photos seems sharper and hold more detail than before.
Audio seems unchanged, so is decent but not great.
the UI is fluid as ever, and all in all havent noticed any bugs on this one. A nifty update if you ask me.

I wonder if is it possible to use the stock wifi driver on DooMKernel on this version now?
For some reason all custom kernel that use Prima Wifi alter the MAC address of my device.
I have to flash back to stock kernel to get the original MAC address.

Interestingly, the 14.1.G.2.257 firmware (which has been released) was only certified yesterday.
Already seen on some devices from two german carriers.
Hope sony will release a roll out note with improvements includet in the update.

Anyways, it seems that the UK unlocked LTE models have still not got the .257 update and good luck to getting the .259 ones soon... I know for sure that the French ones have started receiving the .257 update and an ftf must be somewhere in the General section ftf thread... Have a look there...

Sony Mobile has confirmed that the latest Android 4.3 firmware update for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra has started to roll out.
Build version 14.2.A.1.136 started to roll out a couple of days ago for the Xperia Z1
Sony says that Apart from Bug Fixes, the new update brings Improvements to the Display with the addition of a White balance setting. In addition there is now support for Bluetooth Music Streaming as well as eMail and Wi-Fi Improvements.

Just disconnect and start again, it will resume...all files are stored in windows system folder named "sony"

Tried it. Din work. I remember long back (sony mini days) the same thing use to happen mostly because of corrupted download. Sony saves the download somewhere ..and if you delete it, it starts the download fresh and it will work. Cant seen to find the location.

No it will not. I just did via sus.
Whenever there is an update two options come in sus, one says "software update" and other one says "full internal wipe"...choose the first one.
I always update via sus never did via pcc.

I use the Nine exchange mail client to fix that. It's much better than the stock mail app.

I just update mine and yeah when I head to preferred network it replaced from LTE to 4G now. ( I have T-Mobile )

Yes this seems to be the only difference is this update. Exchange e-mail using the stock app still requires a password instead of a PIN.
Also, there seems to be a slight improvement in performance, but that just might be psychological.

Hmmm..... It's already rolling out for Z1 (6903) as well...... I've tried to install it but PCC having some issues... I'm going to flash .757 (FR) and then try again to get this update through PCC

It's 4G same as UK firmware... Central Europe has LTE
BTW, there's NO extra crap added in this FW, it's GENERIC... Only 1 extra app but you can uninstall it....
Any performance increase in new update?
might be my imagination but my screen looks brighter and more vibrant
Camera in low light is almost noise free (no flash)
random apps no longer open when I close the camera

Please continue to update us of your experience with the fw. also, please. Have you rooted? If yes how? and if no, can we root it using towelroot and then flash XZ dual?
