Loving the camera so far(Still not gonna replace my Fuji X-T1 but love it for a cellphone camera)! Love that it got the light rays!
On the side note though, was gonna try to edit this pic on Adobe Photoshop Express but it kept force closing! Hopefully adobe addresses this issue soon since I use that app often!

I think they are terrible at least for the Note 4. The protectors are big enough that they go past where the screen starts curving at the edges so all four sides of the protector peel up easily. No big deal since they were only 2 bucks and will last me till I can see some solid protector reviews. They need to make the protectors smaller in their next revision.

I honestly didn't "icarez" enough to contact them or submit a review. I didn't expect much due the curved glass. I may send them a message on Amazon.

You may not be able to tell the difference since Tapatalk shrinks the images but not 4 is sharper with more details vs note 3 with that painting like look to it and more washed out colors.

Noisy as hell. Pretty unimpressive. Oh well. Good thing the day shots look amazing...my M8 definitely does better (sans crop) at night.

Nice shots. As stated, a lot of noise with low light. I guess my ufo pics won't fair much better.

This picture looks beautiful in HD it was taken of the sunroof of my car I might use it as a wallpaper

The results are shown in real time. Meaning you will be able to see how the selective shot image will appear before you press the shutter button.

Not sure how it does it but this is how it looked like prior to pressing the shutter button! I can then select far focus which focuses on the gate and then pan focus! Here's another one!

Weird scratches beneath the screen

DAMN IT!
Got some weird scratches/marks beneath the screen.
It's only visible in low light surroundings, and on a black background, but it's very very ugly.
When I made this thread a few similar posts came up.
Apparently it's a known problem on the S2 and note too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335423
I can't make a picture of it right now. Will try tomorrow.

I'm going return it tomorrow, and hope they give me a refund, so I can buy another one straight away (and check it off course). And hope I don't have to wait for 3 weeks for the repair/replacement
Is it there when the screen is off?
If not then it's not scratches. I think its an AMOLED thing. I notice it when my SGS2 freezes on a black screen. But not there when powered down or back up again.

I don't see any spots or ink marks on my GS2 at all. But seems like a lot of the GS3's are having these spots.
Some have exchanged their phones for those with a lot less of of those markings.

I read somewhere that this is a residual issue caused by the bonding glue they use t to attach the glass, they should fade as the glue dries, but keep any eye on it and nuke 'em if it doesn't!
Yeh galaxy nexus has a similar thing its the amoled display some of the pixals are not turning fully of, I think that was the conclusion .
But only noticeable in very dark room with the screen black and when your eyes adjust. Could be wrong without a pic I can't say.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I think its an inherent flaw with AMOLED panels. It looks like patches of the screen do not go as dark as the rest of the screen.
Some screens are brighter than others in general though, among the same phone. This Nexus was brighter than another one I had at the same time, at both lowest and highest settings, and had less black dots on black screen, presumably because the screen was brighter overall.
Doesn't mean to say I won't check for the problem before I purchase though

[Q] What Does A Nexus Without Backlight Bleed Look Like?

I've seen numerous complaints about backlight bleeding, and a few pictures of what terrible backlight bleeding looks like.
However, I've not seen any pictures of either little or none backlight bleeding. Does anyone have a picture (or can someone who has a good Nexus 10 take a picture) of a Nexus 10 with none/low backlight bleeding?
I think it'd be a good reference for those hunting for a good Nexus 10. I'm in the camp that doesn't believe there is such a thing as NO backlight bleeding, but I want to see what is deemed "acceptable" by most so that I know if my Nexus 10 is "return worthy" or not.
Here are a few pictures of mine with its backlight bleed. I'm not sure if this is considered as good as it gets or if I should take it back and try for better?

I would say that mine is almost same as yours, I don't have that much light bleed on top of the screen ( close to the camera lens )
I have 2 more days to decide if I return or not, this is my second unit, first one was even worse than I have now. Fortunately bought in Staples, so I just walk in store and exchanged it. Hope more people will post their screens. Thank you for this post.
I'm bumping this thread hoping someone would post a nexus 10 without any or minimal backlight bleeding. I'm planning to buy next week and I want to know if its worth it. I'm from the Philippines and consumer protection laws aren't great here and I'd probably get stuck with what I will get. Thanks in advance!

I guess that HTC went with the "if something isn't broken don't fix it" moto, cuz the only major improvement is the camera.
Another leaked video from Upleaks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGvnyii8xlc
I think it's a fake... Look at the M9 when the guy is taking the photo to the girl: the phone has got a thick black stripe under the screen, while the one over the screen is very thin. Now watch the rest of the video: the upper strip is bigger, while the other is thinner... Oh cm on! And sorry for my bad english
Also these advertisements are really bad made... I'm not really sure they are true!
Really hope this isn't the m9. The black bar is just awful.
ho my god
it s an M8 again :crying::crying::crying:
I really dont get why all negativity, the M8's design is great and better than the competition in every part of the build. So why would HTC Change what yes ain't broken, the Camera is meh on the M8, so its now been improved, the performance if the M8 is anything to go by will be fantastic. There will be other things I'm sure that will change that mindset.
I honestly wasn't expecting huge changes in design and that's cool with me. I would safely assume the M10 or whatever the 2016 model may be will have that change.
I'm sure you'll all be happy when you purchase
I'm a bit disappointed in HTC, banging on the internet doors that they are bringing new things to MWC, just to show us a refresh/fix of the M8 (Yeah I know they will bring more stuff).
They better be calling it the HTC one 8.5 or something, because this isn't a number change worth.
I still think the M7 is a better looking phone then the M8, just because of the radius on the corners, and because the bottom and top speaker have the same width.
what a disappointment
Its not that bad lol I didn't mind how the m8 design was.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Free mobile app
I'm not convinced this is the final version of the m9. With the leaks in the past few years, it's possible HTC is creating their own leaks to generate buzz. Regardless, I still love my m8 and am getting the m9 when my tax money arrives.?
I agree. I'm not sure it is real. Look at the poor editing, the screen images are not correctly aligned with the phones edges. Not the professional video I'd expect from HTC.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but shown is known to do this, they are restricted and prohibited to release or leak the actual images of the up and coming mobile phones, it would defeat the purpose if unveiling it at the MWC.
Look what they did with last year's Galaxy s5
They thru everyone off on purpose to think Samsung had finally ditched the home button....
But no..
Right after the unveiling they quickly replaced the image with the accurate one. After all, all they really need are he sizes and the shape of the device, the font doesn't matter, it could look like mickey mouse and all they talk need to do is show off the case... the front has nothing to do with the case, the front camera or speakers have nothing to do with the case.... Nothing...

Hmm.... they didn't put attention to detail in this one. Check out the differences..
Well, what might actually be the case here is the picture on the left (the camera app) is actually taking the photo, the picture on the right is viewing the photo in the gallery app so the space on the top which would be the supposed bezel would simply be extra space as the picture isn't full screen.
Take that with a grain of salt, because that whole commercial doesn't really feel that 'professionally done'. It could just be graininess but when watching the screen you can almost tell that some cgi work was done on it.
Based on the this link from amazon the black bar with the HTC logo is gone
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen®-MET...TF8&qid=1424885797&sr=8-2&keywords=htc+one+m9
if it is true, is a good step forward!

We're talking about the photo being different. The photo they zoom in on has obviously been retouched and was not taken with the M9 straight out of the camera.

Might want to take off the clear protector on camera and flash

I think maybe the clear plastic on the camera was effecting my pictures. Well I hope so. LoL. It's not easy getting off especially the flash one. I did it carefully because I didn't want to scratch them. I guess if your pictures are fine then you can leave them on but damn Samsung you should put tabs on them so it's easy to take off. I would think all S6 Edges come like that. Mine is from T-Mobile. Darn you can't see it. I'll post a bigger picture.

See the white line in sky close to the bird way up in the sky? It goes from the top to the bottom. I noticed on 5 pictures and different angles.
Good call, i have always known about the stickers and remove them for customers usually (i sell phones for a living) but i didnt notice the flash one! gotta check it out now, thanks!
Thanks!!! I hadn't even noticed them.
Can you guys see in the sky what I'm talking about? If so do you think I might be right about the picture protector being the issue? Guess I should take more pictures now but stupid rain all week. Lol. Just want to find out if I have a issue with my camera.
A girl with nails might help getting the stickers off. LoL. I think I just lightly put my finger on the corner of the bottom of the flash and moved slightly up. I then noticed that it was on. I wonder if it's on my Note 4. LoL
The first thing I did is taking them off with the plastic cover of the phone
Thanks for the headsup + :good:
I"ll be damn, I missed those also, thanks.
I used a piece of strong packing tape to get them off. Just touched and pulled. Much easier than trying to get your fingernail in there and risking a scratch.

You can still scratch the lens regardless if it's on or not. Having a $700+ phone I've very careful with it. Plus a case could help raise it a tad so the camera isn't flush.

Oh boy. LoL

Note 5 screen discoloration issue. May be widespread

I have had my Verizon 64 GB Note 5 for about 6 days now and since day 1 I have noticed that the screen color when on a white background is not uniform. My phone appears to have a section that has a red hue to it around the left side and more of a blueish hue to the right side of the screen. It is very noticeable on anything with a white background. I seem to notice it the most when I am reading text. I have gone back to the Verizon store I got the phone from and looked at their demo model and it seems to have the same issue. I also went to my local Best Buy and looked at 3 other Note 5's and all except one of Best Buy's seemed to have the issue.
Pull up a white background on your Note 5. Do you see this? I am going to take my phone back and swap it out this weekend, But with so many that I have seen with the issue I am not confident that the new one will be any better.
EDIT: Added poll
Got some pics of mine. NOTE!!!! Pictures do slightly exaggerate the issue

I wonder if a bad batch got shipped to my area? It's strange that 4/5 of the phones that I looked at had the issue. This is making me hopeful that I will get a good one when I go swap it out
Yes I have the same issue, imported phone from Singapore.
My 32gb Verizon model has this, except it's my right half of the screen that has the reddish hue. I'm planning on swapping it for a 64gb before my 14 days are up anyway, or else I'd have already returned it. It's incredibly annoying while reading text.
It's like the matrix effect. Once you've taken the blue pill you can't ignore it. I see tinting on every single amoled device I look at now.

Ha! I have been looking at all my co workers phones and I do see uneven back lighting on almost all of them but none have 2 distinctly different colors on each side of the screen like the Note 5 does. I could handle the uneven back lighting but the 2 colors on the Note 5 make me cringe every time I look at it for more than a few seconds. My co worker's iPhone 6 plus has a fairly uneven backlight from left to right but there are no specific colors illuminated more than others so it's easy to ignore at least for me.

My co worker's iPhone 6 plus has a fairly uneven backlight from left to right but there are no specific colors illuminated more than others so it's easy to ignore at least for me.

Way to go Neo! No turning back now! Hahaha.
Any pictures of what this looks like?

I don't see any discoloration on my screen. Did I get the only good unit?

I will see if I can get a picture of it but I am not sure if a camera would pick it up. It's fairly subtle. Either way it's still annoying.
Deleted since I thought I had discoloration but didn't after having a few co-workers take a look at my phone.

Got some pictures... Added them to the OP
You know what's weird. I owned a Note 4 on 3 of the 4 big carriers and the AT&T one was the only one that was bearable. It seems like its not as bad on the Korean models, which seem to be exclusive to AT&T.
This is what it looks like on mine
I have the 64gb White from AT&T and I cannot see this at all on mine. Colors look fairly cool throughout, not seeing any discoloration or even uneven backlighting.
no discolouration from what i can tell. though i do notice the colours (or WB) of the panel are different than my S6e panel which is warmer in all Display Modes (at full brightness).
