[Q] Knox Root & Custom ROM - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 - 16 GB White.
I also recently found that if I root it and install a custom ROM the knox will activate and I will lose my warranty....
Is there any way I can root it and install a custom ROM without activating the knox and losing the warranty?
I had a HTC Desire... but i'm totally newbie with this phone.

[Q] Hi, I just changed my phone to note3, and I want to root my phone.

Hi. As I said in the title, I've just changed my phone to samsung galaxy note3, but I'm not sure how to root this phone cuz I used to use a galaxy s2 before I changed my phone. ps. I live in South Korea and I'm using a Korean galaxy note3 ( sm-n900s)
The things I want to ask you guys are these
1. How do I root this?
2. Is there any custom roms that can be installed on the note3 jellybean 4.3?
3. When I root this device, does something happens to the knox warranty thing? When I searched a Korean developer forum, they said if I root this device, the knox warranty will be broken so you'll not be able to get free a/s.
4. Is the way of installing roms on note3 same as the way of galaxy s2?
5. Is it ok to install non-korean roms on my note3?
Thanks.

Of course - you'll trip KNOX 0x0 -> 0x1 and void your warranty

One piece of advice I will give you. Read until your eyes burn and you know everything that goes wrong/can go wrong and how to fix it if it does go wrong.

Go to Note 3 Android Development session, there's plenty of custom ROMs option there... Enjoy your root!

[Q] unlocking the bootloader?

Hey guys, i recently got a new Samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9505 and i want to root it. If so, do i need to unlock the bootloader first or do i just root my phone as is? Also can anyone link me directly to a thread where i can unlock the bootloader of my phone, thank you
Any help?
The Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 doesn't have a locked bootloader but rooting will void Knox warranty unless you use a method that doesn't. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784433 to try and root without voiding Knox warranty.

[Q] Verizon Galaxy S5 Towelroot

I recently got a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 and I rooted it with Towelroot. I am thinking about maybe trading it in for the HTC One M8 or the Note 3. With Towelroot my boot screen now has the custom logo with the lock, which I don't think they would accept for a trade in. So my question is: Is there a way to unroot my S5 without using SuperSU, because then that would disable Knox, so that everything is back to stock?

Use Odin to flash your original stock Rom which is available from www.sammobile.com or www.samsung-updates.com

[Q] Samsung i9515 ??

Hello there . I've recently bought a second S4, but I've noticed the product code is i9515, instead i9505. What are the differences between the two phones ?

The hardware is seemingly the same for both but the 9515 has new touch drivers which makes it currently impossible to instal things like CM or other custom ROMS and also only lets you use custom recovery without touch function.
Rooting via Towel Root and Cf-autoroot works(CF-autoroot will void your warranty while towel root doesn't)
I have tested philz touch 5 and 6(I9515 ver) on my I9515 and they are both working (no touch/buttons only. Also installing customrecovery will void your warranty)

Samsung galaxy s5 4G lte

I cannot get my phone rooted at all! The only thing I haven't tried yet is hooking it up to a pc. Can it be done on this phone? TIA!
If you are talking about G901F and you are on stock rom the only way to root it is with Odin a CF root of Chainfire, but it will trip your Knox warranty
