[Tip] Alarm when power off - ONE General

Hello,
I just want to remind you, that the alarm-function will work while the phone is turned off! It seems that many people didn't know this. :good:

Oh, really? With third party apps too? I didn't know that for sure! Thanks.

I use the the stock Clock app. But I didn't try any other apps so far.

Edit: See Martin-Doc's post below, solved my issue. It works!
I've only found it to work when the phone is 'turned off' with QuickBoot enabled in the developer options menu. With my device fully powered off it didn't come on when it was supposed to. Just sharing my experience so hopefully no one misses an important alarm!

Yep! Just did another test just to make sure lol. Set an alarm for 9:17, turned my phone off at 9:15 and nothing happened. Turned it on at 9:20 and had a notification of a missed alarm.
That's pretty weird though, I wonder why it works for yours and not mine. As you said, always test it before you rely on it!

I'd just make a test and the result it's the same.

The phone boots up 2 minutes before the scheduled alarm. You left it less than 2 minutes when you turned it off, that may be the reason why the phone didn't boot and sound the alarm.

just tested with third party app, doesnt work even if I wait about 10 minutes. Testing now with the stock app.

Holy crap...I just tried with the 9/17 Nightly and it worked!!!!

Yes, the stock app worked for me too. It's a shame though, that the app is crap.

Agreed, I like the stock app, it's perfectly functional for me. Plus I hate have redundant apps installed :/

One thing I miss about my nexus 4 alarm is...I always get a popup when alarm goes off on that. On opo it just rings but shows nothing. I have to pull down notifications and press snooze/turn off. Is it the same for you guys?

Don't know what's so special about this feature. It's supposed to do that.
Heck, even my Nokia 3210 did that back in the days.

My old Nokia did this too.
But my Sony X10 and Galaxy Note 1 did not do it, so I've never had a smartphone with this feature, I am happy that this was brought to my attention

I definitely get a pop up, or rather the clock app opens automatically and is showing on the screen while alarming, so I do not have the problem you describe.

It's crap because it's missing a lot of functions. you can't select playlists for example, and that's essential for me, because I like to wake up to a random song, and not to the same one every morning.

It's all a matter if opinion, but I wouldn't call it crap, based on that reasoning. I have no desire to wake up to music, or random songs, a standard buzzer is fine for me. And as such, I feel it is perfectly adequate
You're entitled to your opinion, as well, of course

anyways to the OP no current 2.1 is fully functional without issues. use a 1.5 if you want that, i recommend pancake without sense.
if you want a fully working 2.1 rom wait until the devs get their hands on the final build released from sprint hopefully this month?

Hi to you too.
No thanks.
Cool, thanks I am running fresh2.0d and I like this rom but the trackball light and the sound issue concerns me, because I dont know if it is fixed. I downloaded the fix but last night I got no sound again after I changed my autokiller setting,so I changed It back and it has been ringing all day, so I dont know if it is really fixed.....

mmmmm good
Fresh 2.0d has lwp (they don't work in Sense, but that is a problem with Sense), it has the trackball fixed, though all the button lights have some weird glitch, you'd have to try it to see it, but at least the trackball is in sync with those buttons. It also has all the sound working as well. I highly recommend it. I've been using it since it came out and I'd say its 100% functional with virtually no issues.
On RegawMOD 2.0.2p, I have LWP running and sticking with the regular Home, not sense, but they do stick. you need the 2 apks for it though.

I don't think it is. People have gone 20+ hours just to have the problem happen again. the fix seems to stave it off temporarily but as I have found, it seems to come back sooner or later. Oddly enough, some people just don't seem to have the bug at all. It is an issue in the audio driver of the kernel though, it is there in everyones phone. Just haven't figured out what causes the bug to surface in some peoples phones but not others.
So is there a new update because I have fresh 2.0 and the trackball did work until I dounloaded the sound fix and the trackball light went away...
So it still has the 7 screens or is it the one screen?

How do I turn off the blocking of playing music with Low Battery?

If they battery gets below 15%, I can't play music. It gives me a message about "please plug in the phone huaoaoaaouuo." I don't care if I'm going to run my battery dead sometimes I just want to hear a song!
I feel like there should be an option for this some where but I can't find it.
The only option I've found is to download another media player off of the marketplace, that being said I really like the real player one since I watch a lot of movies on my phone as well a listen to music

I don't really want to use another music player but I guess that's what I'll have to do. Thanks guys.

OMG... I hate this issue... I mean i appreciate the warning and all... but I should at least have the choice... maybe have the pop-up with a continue anyway button or a way to disable in settings...
The idea of warning and attempting to save the battery is a good one, but making it a mandatory default is an apple move, and its sill I have to download third party apps to get around it... if thats the case I cant wait for 2.2 so i can update and just flash a custom rom completely getting rid of all the useless stuff... including the lock down default apps... no point in having two cam or music apps on one device...ahh well
I read that the reason they stop the camera from being able to take photos and the music from playing is that they want to minimize the risk of corrupting the SD card by not writing to it when the phone dies. What doesn't make any sense why they chose 15% and not a more sensible 3% or even 5%. This really pisses me off.

Opinions on Call Quality?

Received my one a few days ago and other than not being able to remove the power saver notification I love this phone.
I do have one concern though. I'm not sure it's a problem but what does everyone think about the call quality? Comparing it to my Sensation it almost sounds like the person on the other end is speaking into a cup.
I haven't had a new phone in quite some time so it might just be something different.. or it might be a problem. What's everyone's opinions?
ATT version here on their network and I think it's the best call quality I've had on a phone, I've used the Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 weeks before this aswell so, *shrug*

i have spent about 70 minutes talking on the phone since i got it yesterday afternoon, didn't notice any call quality issues. comparing it to galaxy note 2, nexus 4, and iphone 4.
Compared to the iPhone 5 on iMobile - night and day. HTC is superior.
good question. There is a lot of hissing going on at times. discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235800&highlight=hissing
Hope it gets sorted, this could possibly have the worse call quality I've ever experienced.

I had that phone and the call quiality was awesome, so it must be a problem in your device.
Assuming they are using what Nokia uses then it should be quite good.
Me too, compared with iphone 5, HTC one is realy good and loud
Thanks for the replies. When my local T-Mobile store gets them in stock I'll go in and try and do some comparisons.
To remove power saver notification just long press on the notification and go into the app info and force stop it! This will only stop the notification from appearing and will not stop anything else!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
I use my phone extensively for work, and sometimes I take calls in the office (very low background noise) and sometimes in the loading bays (where there's always some sort of moving/construction/drilling etc). Today, while in the loading bay calling up a vendor, the vendor on the other side of the line commented that there were "like no background sounds" and asked me if I was in the office.
This is coming from a Galaxy Nexus, and I've been very pleased with call quality so far.

Annoying Turn off data pop up

So after the july update, everything seems to be cleaner on my phone. But i just noticed 1 thing that annoys me for the past few hours.
When u turn on ur mobile data it goes juz like normal but when u wanna turn it off, there's a annoying pop up message that wants confirmation from you.
Anyone knows how can i turn that off?

Doesn't work as a LED notification...
