"Completely"? Are you sure? Every app has "internal data" which is never moved to the Ext SD card by this Move2SD method because our Ext SD cards are in FAT32 format and internal data needs a linux partition such as ext2/3/4 so that permissions don't break. This can be achieved by the Link2SD app as most of us are already aware of. So are you sure about the "complete" thing?

FALSE: there is a strong restriction so most apps cannot be installed on SD by default, unless you ROOT and do something else

FALSE: It is google's fault, also because their software "Google Services" and similar takes about 1GB on a clean updated phone.

[Q] converting samsung apps to user app

I just recently rooted my Galaxy Y. As I have always had low storage space problem, I looked for solutions to that. I installed various root apps (Install Manager, Root App Delete, App 2 SD, Titanium Backup, Link 2 SD), and fiddled with them. After uninstalling and moving quite a few, I wanted to deal with the Samsung Apps.
After searching a bit, it seems the samsung app store is not COMPLETELY useless, so I want to keep it. However none of the apps save Titanium Backup actually recognized samsungapps as an app that it can do something about. However, I am very confused.
1) I am on stock. The Noob Guides on the phone show that Link2SD requires Custom ROM, yet some people have said it works on stock ROM. I am a little hesitant, so I would like clarification... Is it ok to use Link2SD with Stock Rooted ROM?
2) I want to integrate updates onto samsung apps (which is a system app). However, I also want to move it to SD card. Is it required to be a User app to move to SD Card? What are the other effects of Converting to user app? Is it advisable, or is it too deeply installed and will it cause problems? Why can't I integrate updates for any user app? Or do user apps always integrate updates?
3) Link 2 SD requires a partitioned SD card. Is that advisable with the Stock ROM? Maybe I can partition it not as a swap, but only as an app partition, for neater organization?
I searched the forum quite extensively, couldn't find definitive info/experience with this. Apologies if this is addressed somewhere.
Btw, I also flashed my GNex to Stock. Thanks to the precise detail in which the process was explained, the whole thing barely took any time This forum gets better every time I read it.
Apart from the actual solution itself, I would like some links to in depth info to read up about the above topics.
Thanks in advance

Try App2SD in place of Link 2 SD on your rooted stock ROM. It works without partitioning your SD card and will even transfer apps that can safely be placed on the SD card automatically, no intervention needed. It seems to work fine for me.

[Q] Apps Crashing on startup after enabling native tethering

Hello,
I am using a Sprint Galaxy S4 on stock 4.4.2. I recently set out to enable native tethering so I can have 4g on my tablet. After looking around a little I found the odex and jar for my device/version (NAE) and used TowelRoot to get root access. After copying over the services.jar and services.odex files I found that any time I install a new app it will crash when I try to open it. My root access has also been removed (TowelRoot will not give me root anymore) and some programs can't write to the phone or SD Card such as Box. Since root access has somehow been revoked I can't put the old services.jar and .odex back in place.
I installed the jar and odex by simply copying them to the system/framework folder per a QBKing77 guide. Another guide had suggested installing using goomanager but I quickly found that it was discontinued. I considered using Flashify but ended up just using QBKing's method since it was quicker and required no extra app.
Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm happy to provide additional information (such as a stack trace of a crash) if it's helpful in any way.

No
Just flash the stock rom.
You can backup the following by these methods.
Contacts : Press the menu button in the contacts app. Press on Import/Export then export to SD card.
Apps : Download ApkExtract from the play store and backup the apps.
App data (high score in games etc.) : Download Helium from the playstore and backup the app data. Note app data gets stored on the internal sdcard, so move it to the external sd card.
Images : Go to gallery and press on an album. Merge it with an existing album that is present on the ext memory card.
Rest you know how to
You wont lose anything if you just flash the matching stock rom, but why take chances and then repent.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I will still lose my apps and high scores since I cannot currently use any new apps even if I install using the apk instead of play store. But I don't play a lot of phone video games so that's okay and apparently I can just tell Google Play to reinstall all apps. I think I will use this as an opportunity to flash SlimKat and get away from all the silly Sprint bloatware.

Ofc yes...
app downloaded and i put it on sd card then i install app
Drop the app in system/apps folder .
Were you trying to update a previously installed app by this method? Because then the signature is likely incorrect. (Possibly due to the update, usually due to a different 'uploader'.)
Also, try downloading the file and installing it from the device instead of the internet.

The proper way of linking android apps to sdcard

THE PROPER WAY OF LINKING ANDROID APPS TO SDCARD
A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE WITH TIPS
This guide is based on my experience, after trying different tutorial from Google I also experience different kinds of bugs, though all tutorial are good ( I really appreciate their efforts and knowledge ) but there is something lacking, may be adding tips and tricks, and understanding the reader’s ability.
REQUIREMENTS
Before proceeding be sure to have the following
• PC
• MiniTool Partition ( PC App)
• SD Card ( Class 10 )
• SD Card Reader
• Android Phone ( Honor 4C )
• App2sd: All in One
STEP 1: WORKING ON PC
I ASSUMED THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE DOWNLOADED MINITOOL PARTITION. BE SURE ALSO TO BACKUP YOUR IMPORTANT FILES, BECAUSE THIS PROCESS WILL FORMAT YOUR SD CARD
Step 1.1. Install MiniTool Partition on your PC
Step 1.2. Insert your SD Card to your Card Reader
Step 1.3. Open MiniTool Partition and locate your SD Card
Step 1.4. Right Click on your SD Card and select “Delete”
Step 1.5. Right Click again on your SD Card and select “Create New” and a dialog will
appear and put the following
Partition Label: “Put any name”
Create As: “Primary”
Drive Letter: “Never Touch”
File System: “FAT32”
Cluster size: “Default”
Size and Allocation: “Depends on you.”
Step 1.6. Right Click on Unallocated Partition and select “Create New” and a dialog will
appear and put the following
Partition Label: “Put any name”
Create As: “Primary”
Drive Letter: “Never Touch”
File System: “Ext4”
Cluster size: “Default”
Size and Allocation: “Depends on you. I suggest make it 8 – 12 GB, because
We will link your apps here to save more memory”
Step 1.7. Click on “Apply”
WE ARE DONE WORKING ON PC, BUT DON’T INSERT IT YET TO YOUR PHONE
STEP 2: WORKING ON YOUR PHONE
SAD TO SAY, BUT YOU HAVE TO RE-FLASH THE ROM AND ROOT IT AGAIN. FOR THE TUTORIAL I RECOMMEND INSHAALMIRZA TUTORIALS, YOU CAN FIND IT ON GOOGLE.
Step 2.1 Re-Flash Your Phone, whatever your desired Android Version
IMPORTANT NOTE:
After Flashing your ROM, Don’t Login to your Google Account, to avoid updates from google because we need a clean ROM. (Be sure you do Factory reset after flashing)
Step 2.2 Root Your Phone ( Follow Inshaalmirza tutorial )
Step 2.3 Download Link2SD and App2SD and install it, but Don’t open it yet
Step 2.4 Open App2SD and select “Link Apps to SD Card” and there will be a Pop up
asking you for partition style. Select ext4 and don’t tick init.d support.
Step 2.5 Open Link2sd (Just Open It )
Step 2.6 Restart your Phone. Don’t login to Google after restart
STEP 3: WORKING ON APP2SD: ALL IN ONE TOOL
Step 3.1. Open App2SD and select “Link Apps to SD Card”
Step 3.2. Link The Following Pre-installed Apps (Or remove some): (Link App File, Link
Odex, Link Library, Link Data)
- Android System WebView
- AppsGallery
- Chrome
- Drive
- Email
- Files
- Gallery
- Gmail
- Google App
- Google Play Books
- Google Play Games
- Google Play Movies
- Google Play Music
- Google Play Newsstand
- Google Play Store
- Google Text-to-Speech Engine
- Google +
- Hangouts
- HiCare
- Huawei Contacts
- InMobi
- Maps
- Messaging
- Music
- News & Updates
- Photos
- Talkback
- Themes
- Twitter
- Weather
- WPS Office
- Youtube
Step 3.3. Go to setting, and check on “Auto Link apps”
Check only the following: Link APK, Link Odex, Link Dex, Link Lib, Link Data
Step 3.4. Restart your Phone
Step 3.5. Login to Google and update all apps. Take note of all updated apps and do Step
3.2 again on updated apps only.
Step 3.6. Restart and finished
JUST FOLLOW THE STEPS. BUT DON’T BLAME ME

Oh, great.
Thanks for this awesome post. I was really struggling with the internal storage and now I have lots of storage to install as many app as I need.
Do I have to manually link every app which I'll install later on, after following these steps?
It did work great but I have some insues with games like asphalt 8, I link the app to the sdcard download the external data but after that if I restart the game it will ask me to download the external data again
Thanks for the guide

Or atleast with Apps2sd you don't need to get clean rom for it to work.
It would be also good to notify that auto link might not work if Apps2sd isn't system app.
And is there a reason to download both link2sd and apps2sd or was that a typo?
Otherwise nice guide, you've done good job with it.

How to read game data/obb From SD Card on android 12 ?

I remeber when i was young with Android Kitkat i'm using XinternalSD or FolderMount to make game data from SD Card Read as well by app itselt.
but now i'm on android 12, tried old trick but did't work.
is there any chance to make Data game from SDCard readable by the game on android 12?
For example: i have "Dead Trigger" this game from playstore have data called obb, so i move the obb file to my sd card and look app info "Dead Trigger" data size become "0MB"
when open app, game will ask to download data again, thats mean the app can't read obb/data from SDcard
so i use old method using Xposed + XinternalSD using old method i remember, still the app can't read data from SDCard.
use FolderMount by app called App2SD Pro, from playstore, still did't work.
then how to make Data/obb game readable from SDCard on android 12 is that possible?
sorry for bad english, and thanks for the answer.
Tools used:
Magisk Module LSposed Zgysk
Xposed Module XinternalSD
3rd app App2SD Pro
i also tried same thing even a module that claims to fix permissions 《Exsdcard》 yet no luck it costed me losing root ..had to flash it again..but sum says it works on android 8~10
my only hope now is to create a partition on the sd card with app2sd but m not sure how

Solid explorer worked for me
Hi, here is example for DriveDroid:
Kind of workaround is to put your files to /storage/SD_CARD_ID/Android/data/com.XXX.YYY/files
In my case it works only after moving files to:
"/mnt/media_rw/82F3-1D20/Android/media/com.softwarebakery.drivedroid.paid"
--
You can try to make the same for OBB files and else.
--
Used X-plore manager.

It would be useless because everything depends on the exact game...
What point in moving OBB if the app itself can`t interact with file system by design? You will need to move everything to SD Card. But for the rare cases my solution above should work.
--
More universal solution: format SD Card as internal and use AppMgr III with root.
--
Also check an option in the Apps Section in "Developer Options" to turn on "Force allow apps on external".
--
Last but not least - check here.
