How can you request something that hasn't even been released yet? Should be possible, though.

I know the phone is not out yet, just the presentation on IFA, but this is just to show my interest in this also.
A port of those functions and the panoramic selfie would be nice to make the front facing photos of the camera wider.

Galaxy Note 4 Rear Camera Specifications

Hey All,
Been trying to find detailed specs of main camera as Samsung only said it has OIS in their keynote. Lol.
Please help by posting max iso, aperture, f. Sensor size etc.
My Z2 overheating issues is starting to bug me so looking to go back to note line after note 3 camera sucked! Hoping Note 4 is better than S5.

It's a 4.8mm lens with f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 16 MP camera. I based these specs on the exif data of a sample picture. Samsung has not confirmed anything about the sensor, although it is suspected that it is by Sony. Not much more is known at this time.

get photo make with help Note4, then PUMa - Tools - Camera with this photo and have information about module & sensor
It uses Sony imx240 sensor afaik
Why are samsung not releasing info?
Thanks for all comments but this is weird English - The Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 16MP 1/2.6” size sensor with f2.0 aperture lens. This is not the same module as on the Galaxy S5 though. Did they mean it is the same module?

The aperture is wrong in that article. There are sample photographs out there you can download and then examine the exif data. That will confirm that the aperture is f/2.2 and the lens is 4.8mm. Exactly as Galaxy S5.

Thought as much. That's the reason samsung didn't release info as they knew they would be hammered grouping some camera tech!
Not asking much just a decent spec camera? At least S5 takes good pics in general just same Sammy low light fail (indoor)

The Note 4 may do better in low light however if they have incorporated a Sony sensor. OIS should help as well. There are other things that could be different too like ISO, and shutter speed, So I am curious to see how this thing will do in low light.

Well it was believed to be the Sony sensor. However the Lenovo Vibe Z2 released with a 16MP OIS Samsung made ISOCELL camera sensor leads to believe Samsung used their own ISOCELL sensor in the Note 4.
And released samples show a lot of improvement in low light compared to past Samsung devices. Even the S5.
And the OIS video test compared to the S5 makes an immediate huge difference. And the S5's video without OIS was already outstanding. So the detail or better of the S5 with OIS to clear up more detail and stabilize it.

On the german Samsung-Site it looks like the rear camera will have only f/2.4 aperture

I thought it was already confirmed to be a Sony IMX240 sensor?
Sammobile is usually on point - can't post links yet, but google "Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Features – 16MP, Side Touch, Wide Selfie, and much more." See below for quote.
According to our sources, Samsung is equipping the Galaxy Note 4 with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 camera sensor on the back with optical image stabilization (OIS), which is capable of shooting UHD (3840×2160) video at 30FPS. This isn’t the first time Samsung is using the IMX240 camera sensor - Samsung has used the exact same sensor in the Korean Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906S/L/K), however it lacked optical image stabilization (OIS)

Feature Request [S6 Camera Port]

I really would love to see S6 camera port, UI is much less cluttered and auto HDR is very handy (as well as on front camera). Plus pro mode that let's you use adjust white balance, focus, exposure etc.
There is already some work started by user "aurora" for galaxy S4
Here is the topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/themes-apps/s6-camera-ported-aurora-t3094357
Tried to Flash it on N910C obviously it's not working...
So what do you guys think ?

Q/Samsung Galaxy Note 3//Replace Camera Sensor w/ S6, Note 4 or LG G4's Sensor + OIS

Hi, everyone.
The Note 3's camera is fine, everybody knows.
Even the Note 2's Camera is still OK for today.
Before reading my question (which is already mentioned in title),
Please don't blame me for that question.
There are so many people in the world, so maybe one of them asks for a Guide, which might is senseless for you, so don't blame me for that.

You know, i like the Galaxy Note 3, because it's one of the three Jelly Bean Flagship-Smartphones in the World with 4K-Video and Smooth Motion Recording and still suitable for today.
Galaxy Note 3 (Jelly Bean+TouchWiz UI)
Oppo Find 7 (HD Image; 1440p Screen; Ultra-Fast Charging)
Oppo Find 7a (No KitKat-Upgrade)
Why i don't like the newer Android-Versions:
Android KitKat: Very Bogus (Data-Loss Bug, deletion of app data at app uninstallation or deinstallation. Many Software Bugs + restriction etc. )
Android Lollipop: Ugly User Interface - and you can't set the UI Back.
I'm very satisfied with the Note 3's Camera, but i think, that every phone needs an OIS today, for Compensation of the bad low-light performance. Especially those 20.7 Megapixel Phones like HTC One M9.
The Note 3's low-light performance is bad because:
Small Pixels (not as small as Xperia Z) on Camera Sensor
No Optical Image Stabilisation
Three Phones with Brilliant Cameras are:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (It's a Note Smartphone)
Samsung Galaxy S6 (High Colour Quality)
LG G4 (my favourite Phone Camera) (Best Dynamic Range+Focus Speed)
So is there a way, to replace the Note 3's Camera Sensor with the Sensor of one of those 3 Phones? (Preferred: LG G4)
You can't build Laser-AF into the Note 3 so easily, but i just like to get the Sensor and the OIS into it, to make the Low-Light Performance better.
Camera-app:
I'd like to keep the Native Camera-App UI from the Galaxy Note 3 (as known from the S4-Models), but i'd like to have:
16 Megapixels in Resolution chooser
1440p Video Recording (FHD, Smooth Motion and 4K is already there)
If Possible: Real-Time Slow Motion (HFR)-Video Recording.

Old post so you may never see this but did you ever get an answer to your question?

galaxy note 4 front cam problem

hi dear friends i have note 4 n910c the problem is front cam kicks in night mode automatically so beauty face turns off i dont know its problem or note 4 camera is like that i have used alpha and note 5 they focus immediately on front cam and beauty face even work low light conditions thanks in advance
i don't think the front camera has a night mode feature. would you please post a screenshot to see what is the problem you're having

Does the Google Pixel camera port use secondary camera lens for portrait mode?

Does anyone know if this port uses the second lens on the Oneplus for portrait depth/bokeh effect? The reason I ask is I'm debating between Oneplus 5 & 5T (due to front facing fingerprint sensor on the 5) but the secondary camera on 5 is f/2.6 compared to f/1.7 on 5T. If this port is not using the second camera, then I do not need to worry about camera differences.

Go with the 5t
To answer your question though, the port only uses both cameras on pie, it can not do so on Oreo
