Quick question regarding thermal issues, when I owned my LG G2 they suffered from burnt in black lines basically getting to hot specially in recovery mode Mahdi has added a thermal protection in his custom TWRP build. Could it be possible to add this just for safety measures many thanks.

Tested but unfortunately device goes to boot into Trwp and the are lots of lines going vertically through the screen, you can make out the colours of the recovery but that's it I'm afraid.

Yes I will start a thread for LiquidSmooth if the build works. Have no use of it for myself (I don't own a Shield Tablet)
I'm Compiling LiquidSmooth with O3 Optimiztions
Pretty its using SaberMod to build as well.
This should be Blazing Fast if it works.

[Kernel] UNSUPPORTED Reoriented Sense Kernel Alpha 2 *works on Alpha 4*

This is just a captivate kernel for the i9000 sense port.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Follow the instructions to flash GalaxySense.
2.Reboot into recovery, and flash the reorient kernel
4. Enjoy!
NOTE: If you can't follow these simple instructions, DO NOT FLASH. THIS IS TOTALLY UNSUPPORTED, AND IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE.
PS: I'll probably start supporting it once it reaches a usable level, but for now, this is just a kernel for people who are desperate/want to try it out.
Are you going to start a sense thread?

Doesn't matter, it's only to gain access to recovery. Once they release alpha 2, recovery is fixed and you'll be able to just flash straight from the rom, without odin.

No. Most of the files are device agnostic anyway. Just follow their instructions, to the letter.
I'm going to ask a stupid question. Can I use this with continuum v5b3?

Vanir 4.3 Rom nightlies for Ovation

Hey all, Team Vanir just added Ovation to their official nightlies a couple of days ago. I haven't installed it as yet on my HD+ but if it's anything like the one on my N7, it will be great. It's an excellent mix of features from CM and AOKP with Team Vanir's special touches and tweaks.
The first nightly 09/24 has been released, give it a look.
Get it here, just scroll down to the Ovation build: http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/
EDIT: Currently, 09/24, 09/25 and 09/26 builds are not booting, just goes to a black screen. I pm'd one of the lead devs (DHO) and hopefully it will soon be rectified.

Thanks for posting this, actually saw your post on Vanir for nexus 7 as was thinking of upgrading the rom on that, but would have missed the ovation if you hadn't pointed it out, so much appreciated!
EDIT: my only concern before installing is whether trim is enabled or not, as I have a samsung emmc, though it is the 32gb version, I am reluctant to install as the nook was a ebay purchase so no warrenty.

Yeah, I also thought about the trim issue. If it's built from verygreen's device tree, it should be ok but I'm not sure. However, it may be a moot point as I am unable to get either the build from 09/24 or 09/25 to boot flashing with TWRP. It just goes to a black screen and has to be hard reset twice to get into recovery. Also just tried installing with CWM and that also was a no go.
Don't try installing at this time, I'm going to PM one of the lead Vanir devs and see what he has to say.

If anybody wants to visit Team Vanir community on G+ I've posted a link here: https://plus.google.com/communities/111378032131473754160
Since I haven't heard back from the dev yet, I made a post tonight regarding the ovation builds not booting past the bootloader on G+. Maybe if more of us that are interested in this rom respond, we'll get some positive results. I haven't seen anything on G+ mentioning ovation and the dev I pm'ed hasn't been active on his XDA rom thread since 09/24. The build for 09/27 also doesn't boot, so he may not have even seen my pm and the Vanir team may not be aware of this issue with the rom.
Mike T
I am eager as well. Running it on both my Nexus floor and Samsung Galaxy S3. It's an awesome rom. Hopefully it will be fixed for Ovation soon!

I believe it's pretty much autobuilt daily/nightly for all their supported devices, this way all commits in general are current. When a fix specific to our device is implemented, the rom will be up to date and ready to go.
I have heard from the dev, DHO and he is working on it. He said he feels confident that he will get it going. I have been testing each nightly as they come out but I'm hoping that he pm's me again to let me know when it's good to go.
Hang in there, hopefully...soon.

The last nightly I tried was 1004 and it still fails to boot. I see there's a 1006 build from nuclearmistake, haven't tried it yet but I don't think it will boot. Both DHO and nuclearmistake have builds, DHO stopped posting his as of 0930.
Hopefully, that means he has been working on it???

If it boots, mind telling me the things you changed?

Good work you guys.
I didn't have a problem with hardware composer.
The only issue i had was to get the kernel to compile inline.
so i compiled it separately and used the zimage as a prebuilt.

Can people start testing their builds to see that it actually boots before making threads and sharing it with the community?
This is the second time in one day that this has happened.

Ok Now
It has taken very hard work to reach here and even get the rom to compile.
There are CM based roms already available which boot and work .
The purpose of posting this thread is to share my work so far on an AOSP build. The idea is, if I am missing something, someone else can pick it up and better it.
If someone still thinks it is a wrong idea, please delete this thread.
Happy for that, no worries.

Vendors don't test unofficial firmware. Ever.

I don't think this is going to happen, been waiting too long for links.
I think we are being trolled.
Interresting.
I'm impatient to test that one.
It will be the first one who is not based on the official ROMs.
Does it provide stillus support and Overclocking?
Forget KitKat....its about lollipop now
Come on, Kit Kat has been out for some time now for the NT7, and let move on to a Lollipop ROM instead.

He has a few rom posts of dubiously supported and incomplete roms that don't function. So it stands to reason that this rom would be of a similar quality, which is to say, useless.
Biggest thing about this tablet is the non standard features, such as DirectStylus support. It would be my guess the reason we don't have any CM roms at all whatsoever is due to the fact our stock rom is so close to stock android and the degree of difficulty in porting these tablet specific features to AOSP/CM etc exceeds the perceived benefits.
I'm calling shenanigans on this guy, given his previous requests for CM and his posting history. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Man someone finally builds a CM Rom for the Note and you guys just piss and moan. No wonder nobody wants to build roms for this thing.
Here are the GApps you guys can use to flash with this rom to get everything up and running. Handed to you on a silver platter.
I still have no real hard to deal with issues with Stock but do look forward to the hopeful day when Nvidia finally does give us Lollipop. I figure they are taking their time since 5.0.0 was a buggy mess, and 5.0.2 came out so soon, they are waiting to release something good on the Shield Portable/Note 7 as the early hit to the Shield Tab was a bit buggy just like KK was when it hit Shield Portable off the bat.
Rom is stable!?
Thanks!

Okay, at first I didn't want tot post anything here because I didn't have the time to try the ROM yet. After seeing all the negativity here, I just want to give some support to the developer. No matter if the ROM turns out to be great or crap, he/she made it and gave it to us and I'm grateful for that.
Also, I love this part of the disclaimer:

why would it be dangerous - no different to flashing any other rom zip
Looking at the posts on the lineageos site the rom doesn't fully boot and freezes on setup screen
No point in flashing roms until they are posted on xda by the dev - test builds are just as they say - for testing and are not for daily use as they will be full of bugs and should only be used by people who know what they are doing and are part of the team working to fix the rom

From the site: "THIS IS AN INITIAL TEST BUILD WHICH HAS MANY BUGS. HAVE A BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING THIS AND TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK."

how can it break your phone?
The worst that can ever happen is your phone doesn't boot because the rom is full of bugs - in which case just flash another rom or restore your backup

define brake your phone
how can they break it?
You can just flash another rom or restore your backup so in what way can it "brake" your phone?

Really!? Oh right thanks! Got a bit confused there! But it's great to see a Oreo Build! Can't wait!
No hardbrick if you read the tutorials.
But it is possible that some bugs will heat your smartphone..
omg be careful or u can brake ur fone and itll become a hard brick!!! [/s]
Seriously, just be patient. We've got some nice developers and source for this awesome (and affordable) device. I am sure we will get a proper LOS 15 build when it's ready.

I'm a few days with cedric, waiting to test oreo roms, I'm on crdroid until new buids come out
Even tho its not on ROMs page I'm slightly annoyed , credit is being taken from where it shouldn't , Soham has done all the hard work for the bring up so just be patient he will release , none of these devs unless they have made there tree!
