But were not unlockable at this point. So we either have to wait for that or hope someone can build something similar to safestrap using 2nd init possibly.

Where did you see that? I was not aware that we had locked botloaders. I know there are already TWRP builds for both the 7" and the 10.1" versions of the Tab 4, only the 8" version is left out so far.

Where did you see TWRP builds for the 10.1? I can't see it listed on TWRP page as a supported device. I have seen it for the Tab 2.

Ah ok I got it. Doesn't look to promising though as it seems to have issues reading external card.

Doesn't appear so, most coding talent went to either Tab S or Tab Pro.

This is depressing. We may need to put out a bounty at this point.

ICS Alpha 9 Build available for download

Hi guys,
I just noticed a youtube movie where he showed alpha build 9 of ICS!
He also provides a download link for that build in the description of the movie.
Mod edit: link removed
Thanks
Thanks for informing us! Though I always slightly skeptical of this kind of links. Might brick our phone.

Ok not going to spoil the party here but like Bala_gamer has said there is nothing official been released yet. And no official word that the project has stopped due to some sources being needed...Till you hear or read the words project ended then you can all start crying..But till then just sit back and wait..

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
i just tried and it worked...got back to stock though...my way how i installed...
1. backup your system
2. wipe data/cache/dalvik
3. install latest cyanogen
4. wipe data/cache/dalvik
5. boot cyanogen
6. back to recovery
7. wipe data/cache/dalvik
8. install ics
9. wipe data/cache/dalvik
10. boot ics and have fun testing
what i can say is that ics is just awesome. when it all works fine i will use it as my daily rom. but too buggy now to use it.

Sooo... what's the status? I saw it's available on the russian website, but it does not work on the A511... any chance you want to help me build the recovery for A511? I have Ubuntu with Android stuff on it, just currently setup for Samsung Galaxy S+, but off course willing to do whatever it takes to build a recovery for the A511
Zeronull's release doest not work even on A510
And he does not have the tab to debug

Right, and there's someones name I am not supposed to mention (no idea who's name, why and what happened - I only noticed A51x stuff in the past days). Current status is I've tested most I was able to find including the russian stuff (which does seem to work on A510!)... nothing so far, so I've now started to investigate... anyone that can give hints for TWRP or CWM recovery (and how to build it) and/or root (without using mempodroid exploit, as that doesn't work on A511), I'd much appreciate it

[Q] Any full port to Nexus S ?

The subject is on.
We are on the list but in the NS topic there is no full version rom.
Anybody knows anything?

I have a gnex but I remember seeing that someone ported it in the ns4g.
Its still under the name boot2gecko but you probably going to need to wait for a more stable version gets released. Right now I think its buggy with limited functions but has a radio.
I'm not 100% positive this is correct but I'm just trying to give some insight.

Hi!
Firefox os did support Nexus S. Here is my method to put Firefox os into Nexus S.
1. Download ICS image from google, soju-imm76d-factory-ca4ae9ee.tgz
2. tar zxvf soju-imm76d-factory-ca4ae9ee.tgz
3. Press volume up + power key. Nexus S will get into fastboot mode.
4. run "./flash-all.sh" Nexus S will be flashed with ICS image
5. get into B2G code and run script "./config.sh nexus-s"
6. build image "./build.sh"
7. flash image "./flash.sh"

List of things to do after buying a new Android Tablet

Hi all!
I would be very happy if you all could share your ideas and knowledge with me regarding
List of things to do after buying a new Android Tablet
I am expecting my GT-N8000 next week and I want to start on the right footing with my new device.
It could be a list of do this and do that....step by step in order of precedence.
ex:
1. Disable UAC on Windows
2. Install Samsung Kies software on PC
3. Backup current/original Bootloader and save it on your PC for fallback purposes
4. Backup current/original ROM and save it on your PC for fallback purposes
5. Copy CWM or whatever...on your SD Card.
6. Boot up by pressing this and that button....
7. and the list goes on and on....(with all of your help!)

I hope this will be a starting point for all newbies who are buying their android phone/tablet for the first time.

Get a case. A black one to be specific haha I got a white one to go with my white note, not the best idea... Got dirty fast. Also, if you are going to flash a rom, make it a stock based rom at first. Same UI and experience, but much faster.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion.

EDIT: I think it's working. I didn't find anyone that was having a problem anymore. The rom is based on the 3G version firmware, so I doubt you would have trouble.

I have rooted it finally using the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 ToolKit (I chose TWRP custom recovery as it is touch/button based)
Then I did a full backup of the device using Nandroid TWRP
Then, just to be safe, I also did an EFS backup using EFS Professional.
I am just playing around and installing apps and games before I flash the Revolution HD 9.0 rom.
Thanks for the help!

just built a 4.2.2 stock kernel and rom - update7 final - 14/9

i built it for both fun and testing for my note 2 lte n7105, will try it out soon
hope that i will return with a success, although i think its not an easy task
ps no promise
You are a recognized dev, so I very hope this is true...
Have you ported the Note 8.0's firmware?
So, any update?
Hopefully success as a 4.2 2 stock rom would be awesome.

ok guys, just a little bit updates so far after 5 tests
it booted up but stopped at the 7105 logo
so i examined the last_kmsg and compared to the 4.1.2's and found that
- init has been called and executed
- drivers loaded successfully including cpu, battery, usb, display, mmc, etc
- disks mounted
- it then paused or looping and i have no idea what happened atm because the log files couldnt provide me with more info, and most importantly adb was not available, thus i could have no way to check what's going on for now
that's all i can tell atm, and tough jobs expected
Yup go for it!! reserved!

I think you should try using Note 8.0's. Devices are very similar in specs, and we will still have all Sammy's S Pen's features

And what about ADB? Still boot gets stuck too early?
And maybe try looking on the Note 10.1's port for the Note 2. Maybe your problem isn't related to it being Android 4.2, but the port itself.
