Ok I'll try make this as simple as possible for you all.
NOTE: The PS3 firnware HAS to be 3.41. No less and DO NOT install 3.42 as this blocks the ability to use these hacks.
NOTE: To enable playing of backed up games follow instructions in updated part of post 1.
Check post 1 for download link.
NOTE: Make sure PS3 is turned off at the mains or power switch for FAT models and the USB cable is unplugged!
Step 1 - Download
Step 2 - Extract the Android folder and place onto the root of your SD card.
Step 3 - Using Windows Mobile go to File Explorer and find the Android folder, then run CLRCAD.exe (NOTE: It will NOT appear to have done anything but it will have) then run HaReT.exe
Step 4 - You will see white text flying up the screen this normal, wait for it to finish and the Android lockscreen will appear. Unlock the phone so your on the homescreen. (NOTE: Make sure the phone doesnt go into standby and the screen stays on)
Step 5 - Plug the USB cable into your phone and PS3.
Step 6 - Turn the mains switch on for your PS3.
Step 7 - Press the power button and then press the eject button (NOTE: eject button must be pressed right after the power button!)
Step 8 - PS3 will take slightly longer to boot up, this is normal. Download Manager.pkg and put it onto the root of a external HDD (FAT32 filesystem only, NTFS is not supported by the PS3) or a USB stick.
Step 9 - Plug in your HDD/USB stick into the PS3 and go to the new folder under games menu called "Install Package File", open it and click X on the manager.pkg to install.
Step 10 - Enjoy!
NOTE: If you wish to rename the PSFreedom folder from Android so that you can use your normal Android build follow these steps:
Step 1 - Open startup.txt from within the Android folder (PSFreedom version)
Step 2 - Change set cmdline "" to set cmdline "rel_path=PSFreedom"
Step 3 - Rename the Android folder to PSFreedom.
***UPDATE***
To enable backup loading, download this:
http://www.multiupload.com/9LHKYKBA6W
Readme:
This package contains GScript Lite which has been modified by me.
Assuming your PSFreedom build folder is still named Android...
- Copy the Android folder to the root of your SD card, it will create a new folder in your Android folder on your SD card named AndroidApps.
- Boot Android.
- Enable internet connection (Either Wifi or 3G)
- In order to update PSFreedom, use GScript Lite program in Android and there will be an Update PSFreedom icon there. Keep running Update PSFreedom if all you see is a blue screen with "stderr" and nothing else. You should see the word PSFreedom pop up on the screen. Once that is done, then backups will be enabled.
The latest update will enable backup loading. Enjoy!

UPDATE: 22/09/2010
PSFreedom module updated to use latest payload with LV2 Peek and Poke support.
Either use GScript above and update the module or download the module yourself and push it yourself. Get the module from here: http://gamesquare.co.uk/psfreedom.ko

If someone could make a video on how exactly does the steps needed to be done , it would be wonderful.
Step 1 is clear.
Step 2 and Step 3 question - When do I need to plug the USB cable into PS3, before running haret or after that ? If I plug it after running haret , when exactly do I need to do this , cause haret starts immediately and turns off phone in about a minute ?
Step 4 is also clear.
Step 5 - when must I see the "PSFreedom gadget: Got disconnected" text ? After pressing the front button and eject button , or before that (after switching the back button on)
Step 6 and 7 also Clear.
Thanks for the answers in advanced !!!

Does the phone need to be connected to the PS3 all the time to enable PSFreedom to work or do you just do this once and that is it?

[Q] odd problem with my P3400

Hi...
I have p3400 gene .... I really want my phone to upgrade to WM6.1proffesional
So, I tried the the guide available here at xda-develpors [GUIDE] Step by Step Guide for Upgrading P3400 and P3400i ROM + FAQs
Now, My phone is dead ... when I press the power button ... the red and green button blink once and nothing else happen
I tried the Power+camera and a screen with 3colors appear (red, green, blue) with these writing on it ...
ONLP 1.10.0000
SPL 1.10.olip
my S/N is HT8xxxxxx.
I have widows 7 on my computer so I tried :
I did [Step 2: Preparing your phone] successfully
then in step 3
You need to take these steps :
1. Go to desktop, right click Computer, and select Manage. Go to Device Manager. Now under the section Mobile Devices, Double Click : Smartphone USB Sync.
2. On the Drivers tab, click "Update Driver..." button. On next screen click : "Browse my computer for driver software".
3. Click : "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computers". Click "Have Disk.." on next screen. Click "Browse..." and go to the folder extracted in step 1. There, go to USBDriverforActiveSyncVista folder. Here select the file "wceusbsh.inf" and click OK.
4. Click Next and finish the wizard.
Click to collapse
but when I select "wceusbush.inf" ... I get this error
HTML:
the folder you specified doesn't contain a copatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for x64-based systems
I don't know how to solve it
and when I try the ROMUpdateUtility program ... I get [ERROR 300
when I tried Step 5: Use the Orefkov Unlocker
after opening the Mtty1_42.exe ... here are the problems
- I don't find the usb button
and when I click okay ... on the next screen ,,, the keyboard just doesn't work
only [delete] and [ctrl+v] nothing else works ...
P.S. I use the windows mobile device center on my computer to sync my info to my p3400
need help to solve the problem
I really want the WM6.1proffecional
and could any one give the best rom for it??? and will I have a touch flo problem afterwords ????
Please help A.S.A.P
come on guys ... The site of the best develepors and till now .... no answere
just so you get this solved as fast and smoothly as possible...lets just go through this step by step...
(i don't mean to sound rude but there's something you need to know before you start expecting miracles here, let me tell you...this site does indeed have an amazing lot of people who have spent countless amount of time working on and with their phones...but not everyone has the time to log in everyday and keep a track of the infinite number threads they might be following...and even when they do log in and read your problem, they might not necessarily have a solution for you at that time...
patience is the key...wait for someone to read, understand and then provide a solution for your problem, if it exists...this is a phone developers site...not one for magical cures
and most importantly...post your problems in the appropriate threads...like this one should've been in the Q&A thread in the ROM development section...or in the upgrading thread itself...you'd get more replies that way...you don't have to start new threads)
now...i read through your post where you've described your problem very nicely...and i couldn't see where you've tried running the olipro patch...
but since you can see SPL as 1.10.olip in bootloader mode i'm assuming you tried that...
now if the phone is bricked then it probably means you phone is the new gene...
all you have to do is run mtty exactly as it is explained in the thread...you just have to get the driver given in the tools zip file...
as you mentioned that you've tried setting the driver and it didn't work...
you can try 2 things...
1> try running the same procedure from step 3 onwards on someone else's computer/laptop...(this is somethings others have mentioned working for them)
2> uninstall and reinstall windows mobile device center to get the default drivers for your phone on your comp...start your phone in bootloader mode by holding down the camera button while restarting the phone...now when you have the tricolour screen on, connect it to your comp via usb...
after your comp detects the device, open device manager and try updating the driver (download the tools zip file again just to be sure)...
after updating driver, the mtty should run perfectly...make sure you do everything in step 5 100% correctly...read the instructions over and over again just to be sure...(this is the method that worked for me...but again, as you will read everywhere here, be sure to do it correctly...no one on this site is responsible for any problems you'll have with your device)
if you have any doubts or problems in getting it to work...post it up in detail like you've done here
Sorry .. my bad
BUT like I said ... I am a complete newbie here
I wanted to ask ... should I repost my problem in the Q&A or will the moderator move it
I will try it on other computer ....
thanx for your help
yes, I actually used Step 4: Use the Olipro method first.
thats why bootloader mode is on ...
but after that comes the problem
since the drivers seem to be buggy with the x64 windows 7 just try running everything from step 5 onwards carefully...AFTER you have changed the appropriate drivers first as mentioned in step 3...
do these things on someone else's computer/laptop with a 32-bit os (x86)
i'm running the 32-bit windows 7 and i can assure you it works for both newgene and oldgene perfectly...
so next few things for you to do-
1> borrow someone's comp
2> install windows mobile device center (active sync for xp users)
3> start phone in bootloader mode and connect it via usb
4> locate it in device manager
5> change drivers for the device
6> continue from step 5 in the upgrading thread
hope it works...good luck
Problem solved .... thanx man ... thanx

didn't get twrp installed to recover before a brick

I've spent the last four hours reading forums on how to unbrick my brand new kindle fire, and they would be amazingly helpful if i had twrp to recover or my kindle would even connect to my pc. I rooted my kindle fire and then went to instal twrp and it bricked during installation and is now stuck on the kindle fire logo screen. since my computer wont detect it anymore i can't get any of the fixes to work and hard reset isn't helping at all. i feel like i'm out of options but i'm hoping someone here will have something left to at least get my kindle to connect so i can fix it. anything would be helpful in at least giving me options to fix the problem since right now i just feel lost.
use kf utility and update ur drivers first of all.
second, ur device should be in fastboot. u can use the kf utility to check if fastboot is working and continue installing twrp.

it says that windows says the driver is up to date, honestly just knowing that is is connected just not recognized is bringing my hopes up and deserves a thanks
not sure if it's important to note but my computer doesn't show it as a kindle just as an unknown usb device
My only way out of this was to use another computer, download the drivers first, then download the twrp file so it doesn't give you the "trwp isn't downloaded, let me do it for you" message then do all the KFU steps over. Hopefully it will work for you also.

i'm not very clear about what you mean by this. i plugged it into my laptop just now and it came up usb device not recognized. I just need to find a way to get a computer to recognize it as a kindle again or for it to get out of getting stuck on booting so i can fix it.
got it fixed, i was still trying a few things and the one i think that did it was i plugged it back in while it was off and while it didn't recognize it at first but about a minute after i turned it back on my computer found it and got the driver installed for me. apparently it has to be off when plugged in the first time for it to work, so i basically spent seven hours to find that out but hopefully this ends up helping someone so the time wasn't that wasted. but it's seven in the morning so i should probably get some sleep.
I installed the twrp and got stuck on the yellow triangle after pressing reboot. My kindle was not recognised by my PC, I had to switch off my kindle then plug it in to my PC then in device manager under android phone i updated my driver from the .android folder. I then reinstalled twrp from the utility even though the utility said device not found it still installed it and my kindle reebooted normally and twrp was installed. ope this helps anybody in need.

[GUIDE] Fix MTP driver installation on Windows 10

Hi guys and girls...
I just recieved my new phone a few days ago. Plugged it into an old Windows 7 x64 laptop and Windows instantly updated the driver. On a 2016 Dell E7450 Windows 10 x64 laptop... It didn't. Tried the Google USB drver package, but it didn't work either. Windows reports about a problem with an INF file and doesn't finalize the driver install...
I just saw someone reported the same issue in Q/A. I thought it would be a good idea to write a step by step guide.
@ppd0526 proposed an easier solution to fix the issue:
Please if you use this solution, don't forget to say thanks to him in this post: THANKS
ppd0526 said:
I actually just helped a friend out with this. There is an easier fix then having to go through all that and add a known device.
1. Go to C:\Windows\INF
2. Find the file "wpdmtp.inf"
3. Right click the file and click 'Install'
4. Once that is done, simply plug your phone and it should work.
Click to collapse
Uninstalled the driver and reinstalled using this method works fine! :good:
If someone has difficulty with the above or it doesn't work (which it should) i leave the one below just in case...
Click to show the guide:
Right click on the Windows start menu icon and select Device manager:
From here plug your Pixel using your USB cord to your computer. Pull the notification bar on your Pixel and tap on:
USB charging this device
Tap for more options
From the menu, select:
Transfet files
From here, you should see an "Unknown device" or an "MTP device" with an exclamation mark.
Right click on the device and select "Update driver software":
Click: "Browse my computer for driver software:
Click: Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer:
Scroll down till you find "LeMobile Android Device" and select it:
Here, select the second option: "MTP USB device"
Success
Now recognized in device manager:
In "This PC":
Hopefully, it will help some people.
Awesome, thanks! After several months with my phone, this just happened to me yesterday and I couldn't figure it out. The Google USB driver reinstall didn't work for me either, but this did!
As a suggestion, it's quicker to get to Device Manager by right clicking on the gear icon (Start) and selecting Device Manager.

I just recieved my new phone a few days ago. Plugged it into an old Windows 7 x64 laptop and Windows instantly updated the driver. On a 2016 Dell E7450 Windows 10 x64 laptop... It didn't. Tried the Google USB drver package, but it didn't work either...
I just saw someone reported the same issue in Q/A. I thought it would be a good idea to write a step by step guide.
Click to show the guide below:

Hey... I once had a similar issue with a printer in the past and found this solution on the internet. So when it reappeared with the Pixel, I thought i would try as well. In the end it worked. That's all. I'm glad you sorted it out.
I actually just helped a friend out with this. There is an easier fix then having to go through all that and add a known device.
1. Go to C:\Windows\INF
2. Find the file "wpdmtp.inf"
3. Right click the file and click 'Install'
4. Once that is done, simply plug your phone and it should work.

Nice... Maybe you can open another thread? Or want me to add it to the OP?
Cheers...

Adding it to the OP as an alternate method is fine. Better to keep the information consolidated.

Yeah you're right.
By the way, i just tried to uninstall my computer's driver and installed it with your method! Everything's alright.
Thank you...
My PC doesn't have this file wpdmtp.inf
Uninstalled the device and driver. Reconnected and let Windows update driver. Now it works.
Thank you Soo much. It worked exactly like it says in the OP.
This guide doesn't work anymore. MTP Device and MTP USB Device are no longer the menu options. Uninstalling the device doesn't work. You just end up with the exact same MTP with the exclamation point as before.

Thank you sooo much :victory:, I actually didn't have the wpdmtp.inf in C:\Windows\Inf but I had this folder (link) containing a couple of android drivers and there was wpdmtp.inf file in it, I right clicked and installed it and VOILLAA!!... everything went perfect after that. If for any reason you still face MTP problems after this I would recommend to do a manual installation of MTP drivers by going to "Device Manager", click MTP entry with exclamation then "Update Driver Software"->"Browse my computer for driver", navigate to the folder location where you extracted the drivers (link).... you should be done after that. If otherwise you face a problem along the lines of "section in this INF is invalid" while doing manual installation dreboot your PC and find the wpdmtp.inf again, right click then install and you would have fixed your problem. :good:
THANKS!
Oh man! Finally, FREAKING FINALLY, I found a solution that works. Thank u so so so much.
Thank you! This tip worked for me!
I have been having this issue for almost a year, if I wanted pictures and files from my phone, I had to get them from the cloud. Today was the first time in a very long time, that I was able to just copy over files from the phone again from Windows Explorer. THANK YOU!
trying these methods is still failing for me... shows "Pixel" in device manager.. if I try to update drive.. it says either can't find.. or failed...
and if i turn on Transfer Files.. Device manager shows ADB and MTP under "Other" but both fail when trying to update drivers..
YES!!!

@ppd0526 proposed an easier solution to fix the issue:
Please if you use this solution, don't forget to say thanks to him in this post: THANKS
Uninstalled the driver and reinstalled using this method works fine! :good:
If someone has difficulty with the above or it doesn't work (which it should) i leave the one below just in case...

[HOW TO] Recover HARD BRICKED Nokia X2 : DOESN'T TURN ON, NO VIBRATION, NO LIGHT

So, Guys. Myself thought of writing this thread so that you can prevent yourselves from entering into danger as well as get rid of it even if you enter by mistake.
As you all know that, we are currently facing an issue of SIM offline, myself got into the trouble (as per me, when i insert a sim in sim 1, device recognizes the network provider but there is no signal. sim 2 is fine) and inorder to rectify that issue, i tried all possible ways like deleting IMEI and rewriting it, changing modem etc.
But nothing worked and so thought of using NOKIA CARE SUIT (NCS) >> Product Support Tool For Store 5
& change the firmware to Nokia X2DS RM-1013 059V782 v2.1.0.13 which was the biggest mistake which i ever committed and it resulted in hard brick.
I suggest everyone not to flash 2.1.0.13 version please
In my case, i was not even able to use the volume buttons and power button inorder to get to bootloader or custom recovery. Trust me, i'm not a noob but i do know the situation in which i'm and searched everywhere and took help of lots of guys and finally found the solution to it.
Just follow these steps:
A. Requirements:
1. Nokia Firmware - Thanks to Firmware27
2. QPST_2.7.422
3. QDLoader HS-USB Driver
B. Procedure:
1. Extract Requirement - 1, 2, 3 separately.
2. Now Install requirement - 2 & in Requirement - 3, just install Setup
3. Now connect USB to NOKIA X2 & Laptop/PC
4. Click on the start menu and type QFIL in search box and open it.
5. Under "SELECT PROGRAMMER", click on the browse button and
select "rm1013_2.1.0.13_user_prog_emmc_firehose_8x10. mbn" from the Requirement - 1
6. Under "DOWLOAD", you will find "LOAD XML" and now click on that and a window will appear infront you :silly:
7. Now in the window, type *.xml in the file name so that the xml files will show up.
8. Now select "rm1013_2.1.0.12_059V787_001_rawprogram_unsparse_ui"
9. Soon another window will show up automatically and now type *.xml in the file name so that the xml files will show up.
10. Now select "P12026702dpi600_label_layout"
11. Now Click on the "DOWNLOAD" just button below the Load XML button.
- Make sure your device is connected to the PC/lappy through cable :silly:
Everything is done. Now sit back and Relax.
Your NOKIA X2 will bootup and it looks exactly like device when you purchased except the scratches and all
Note:
I'm not responsible if your device is bricked. Ofcourse if you are doing this, it means that your device might have already been bricked and i guess there is no other way except this to make it right
This works with all the snapdragon chipset devices.
