If Sony released a Xperia SP successor, how would you want it to be? - Xperia SP General

Imagine that Sony asks you, Xperia SP user, to give them ideas for the Xperia SP successor. Which features, design elements and name would you propose? Remember, Xperia SP is a mid range phone (or high-mid range), so don't lose control with your suggestions!
I would suggest: Xperia ZP.
Spec-wise, it would have:
-Snapdragon 600 with Adreno 320 GPU.
-2GBs of RAM (1.5GBs sounds more logical though)
-13mpx camera with flash, 1Mpx front camera (or 8mpx rear camera as long as it's as high quality as the one on Xperia P)
-4.6" HD IPS screen
For the design, I would like something between Xperia P (which I love) and Z1 compact, so it would be a minimalistic phone made mostly out of aluminum, but with the shape of the Z1 compact. Also, why not make it water-proof? As it seems to be the trend nowadays.
Anyways, share your thoughts. Remember, keep it real! (That means no 4K displays, 3GBs of RAM or Snapdragon 805 >_> ).

Ilumination bar must be /!/

Easy:
Like the Sony Xperia ZL but with Illumination bar and high end specs

1)It would have the same SoC just to lower the price
2)8mp camera with a better lens
3)1.2mp front camera and not that crappy vga camera we have
4)2500mAh battery
5)1.5GB ram
6)8GB internal with a sd card slot
5)5" True HD IPS screen with better viewing angles
6)A led illumination strip all around the phone(party )
And the best...
software support from Sony

Well everything can be done except the last one

- 5" 1080p display
- IPS+
- Same GPU
- Same CPU
- 2GB of RAM (A MUST)
- 2 MPx front camera
- 12 MPx rear camera
- 16GB internal memory + SD card slot
- Pure aluminium Exo skeleton rather than co-moulded (Plastic combined with aluminium)

:good: This sounds like something that can be done (minus the software ).
I personally would like them to kill the illumination bar...or at least make it smaller, it takes too much space from the phone and makes it bigger than what it should be.

This sounds great too, minus the 5" 1080p. In my opinion, this resolution will be a thing for mid rangers next year, when Quad HD become more common on high end phones. And maybe it's just me, but 5" is way too big for me...unless they make as compact as an ZL.
Also, I don't know about you guys, but despite how well it runs, don't you feel S4 Krait is getting outdated? There are 2 or 3 games that are no longer compatible with my SP.

xperia sp 2
The xperia sp should have a intel atom z3780 processor at 1.86 ghz/ tegra 4 with 4.7inch screen, kitkat or android l, illuminationbar, aluminum design with removable battery 8 megapixel camera and 1.6 mpx front camera with 16gb of storage or 8gb with ability to move apps to sd card and sd card should be up to 128gb.

xperia sp successor should have
4.8 inch 1080p screen or 720p
tegra 4 processor or Intel atom z3780 or s600 processor
illuminationbar
kitkat or android l at launch
16gb internal 64gb exteral
1.5gb ram
removable battery
frontfacing speakers
8mpx camera 1.2 front camera
2500mah battery

I think that it should be Xperia R4. It might have:
-5" 1080p IPS Screen (same as ZL2) with glove mode and 2t2w
-64bit Snapdragon 615
-Adreno 320 OC
-2GB RAM
-16GB ROM with SD card slot
-IP68
-Front-facing stereo speakers
-8Mpx 16:9 camera and 2,2Mpx 16:9 front camera
-Illumination bar
-2800mAh battery
-137 x 70 x 7,8 mm
-Aluminum Frame
It should looks like smaller Z3 with illumination bar.

It should have...
Well about 5" screen
2gb ram
16gb internal
13mp back and 2mp front camera
Most importantly REMOVABLE BATTERY ??

This would be perfect, i hope Sony launch a phone with illumination bar in a near future

good specs for the moment
- best possible battery +2600mAh
- 16GB internal memory
- 2 or 3 GB RAM
- 5" amoled screen (my girlfriend his it on her samsung galaxy s3 neo, lovely!)
- sd card extension slot !!
and certainly the Ilumination bar !!
i'm always looking for a new phone with such a Ilumination bar, so handy and beautifull !!!
ooh i would defenitly buy such a successor !!

For me:
4.4" 4K Screen(500ppi) with gorilla glass 3
New perfectly working illumination bar made of crystals!
3000mAh battery
2 or 2.5 GB RAM
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit (8 cores per 2.4 GhZ)
Nvidia Tegra K1 or better
20.7 MPIX camera with BionZ and Cyber-Shot
USB 3.0
Android 5.0 Lollipop with Material Desing(orginal android)
Special X-Pen with special place for it in the phone (like SGN2,SGN3)
Front 8 MPIX camera
2 speakers like Xperia Z3
Slim bezels!

I would love it to keep the 4.6 inch screen because I find anything bigger to be too big. The design would be updated and it would keep the illumination bar plus the aluminium frame would be proper aluminium (as opposed to the current mixture it is). As for the specs it should remain mostly the same, only difference is that it should have an newer quad core chip at ~1.6GHz. And of course it must have better software support.

I would love to see Sony to release a newer version of Xperia SP under their sub brand or with collaboration with their sub brand "Fashion Entertainments" releasing an out of the box design and maintaining their tagline"The design connoisseur’s smartphone".
What is Fashion Entertainments ?

You don't know anything about CPUs and GPUs in a mobile device do you?

I would like to see the ZSP stay the same physical dimension, just have minimal bezels for that bit bigger 1080p screen and Sony 20mp camera.
The other must have would be illumination bars top and bottom and a circular one on the back around the camera lens. I want people to see me talking from space.
The speaker is good enough, when I'm playing music I pair it with one of my bluetooth speakers.
Also a case with a special rotating keyboard that snaps into place like a switchblade click.
I don't really care about the having the latest specs, I want a phone with flair that takes great pictures and has a long battery life.
I wouldn't even mind if it keeps the 720p screen, I'm not ripping blurays or anything for it.

According to me Xperia SP2 should have:
4.8 or 5 inch display
Screen resolution should be 1080p
Quad core Snapdragon 800 paired with Adreno 330 (definitely not the 801 or 805 as these would be considered highend chips and 810 is outta the league)
2 gigs of ram
2800mah battery
13mp rear cam and 2mp front facer
Android Lollipop 5.0
And yes ofcourse our beloved LED strip
If this is what sony makes then m sold to it

Manufacturer: Samsung
Display: 4 inch, calibrated Super AMOLED+
Processor: 1.2 Ghz Dual-Core
Camera: Doesnt matter, I think the Nexus S's camera is good enough
Round corners, curves. Contour display.
1 GB RAM
16/32 GB ROM
SD CARD SLOT
4G
Build material: Plastic, but a little more grip at the back. Black.
The reason I am going for Samsung again, is because I like their hardware. As you can see the device I want looks like an upgraded Nexus S. I think the design of the Nexus S is fantastic, but a little more grip would do it for the back. Also, Super AMOLED+ got rid of many of the disadvantages Super AMOLED had, like PenTile. Only thing that bothers me is that the colors are a little bit too oversaturated. That is why I like LCD better, for now.
But it would be awesome if there was a way to calibrate the colors, so that you can choose normal (like Motorola Droid), oversaturated (like Galaxy S) or custom. That, with the advantages of LED, and no stupid PenTile, would be an awesome display!
Realistically, the next Nexus would probably be something like this:
Manufacturer: Motorola or HTC
Display: 4-4.3" 960x640 to 1280x720 resolution (either sLCD or sAMOLED)
CPU: OMAP4 or Tegra 2 for Motorola, QSD8672 for HTC (all dual core)
GPU: SGX540 for OMAP4, Adreno 220 for HTC
RAM: 1GB LPDDR-266
Storage: 16/32GB plus microSD
Camera: 8MP with flash
Misc: Dual mic, FFC, 4G, NFC, Wireless b/g/n, 1600mAh battery, ~9mm thick
What would I like to see (while still within the realm of reality)?
Manufacturer: HTC
Display: 4-inch 1280x720 (any sort of OLED, Sony is working on some nice displays)
CPU: Qualcomm MSM8960 (1.5GHz dual core)
GPU: Adreno 300 (200m+ tri/s)
RAM: 1GB LPDDR-400
Storage: 16GB (to keep costs down) plus mircoSD
Camera: 12MP microlense zooming with dual LED flash
Misc: Dual mic, FFC, 4G, NFC, Wireless b/g/n, 1800mAh battery, ~9mm thick
guys, what about a nexus from nokia?
now for me that would be a dream come true. the best combo of hardweare and softweare. it could be a great hit. i would love for something like this ro become a reality.
anybody agree with me on that one, or am i just a lone dreamer?...
on the other topic it was already said to be a joke only when he mentioned
but Nokia is indeed looking to partner up with other OS markers
but there are no solid confirmation if they are going one way or another
they basically opened the doors and are inviting prospective OS partners for their phones
don't be surprised to see a Nokia running Apple's iOS
but chances seems to be Nokia seems to be favoring Microsoft
however Android has the market dominance in the long run, it'll not be smart for Nokia to not choose Android and partner with Google
if they do, we'll most likely see "Nexus N"
I just hope the Nexus 2 will be made by a company with better outer casing

I guess so but there really is nothing bad with the shell of the NS. It only feels cheap because its glossy plastic. I've dropped my phone quite a few times and its never even chipped. I have no scratches on the screen or the back. I'm quite happy with the SNS and my only hope for the next Nexus is just that it be better than anything else on the market

Evo Successor:
-Same screen but better resolution and maybe Gorilla Glass

-Unibody Aluminum/Plastic Design
-Kickstand in the middle
-Sexier form factor instead of the standard squared look
-Better GPU
-More RAM
-More internal HD space
-Dual Core
-Better FFC resolution

Whatever it takes to make everyone happy so I don't have to read thread after thread after thread after thread after thread of people *****ing and moaning and whining and crying about why this phone sux and why that phone sux and why some futuristic yet to be developed technology isn't already in people's phones they bought last year. I guess it'd need to be equipped with a time machine so the phone can go into the future and equip itself with new technologies and then come back to present day. Oh, and it'd have to be sold by a brand new carrier since all US carriers suck so bad... and it'd need to be free.

What will realistic Project Ara phone be and what price will you pay?

Hello,
With this being talked about now, what will your realistic Project Ara phone have?
Mine is pretty simple:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz
Adreno 330 450MHz
2 GB RAM
3.8 V 2300 mAh, 8 Wh, Qi wireless charging
Slide out QWERTY physical keyboard
4.96 in (126 mm) diagonal IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (1080×1920 px (444 ppi))
8 MP with OIS, f/2.4 aperture and Xenon flash.
1.3 MP Front Camera
3.5 mm TRRS
GPS
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
Infrared port
Every damn radio band so I can use GSM/3G/4G all over the world
Now that I look at it, this phone sounds pretty familiar.........
My price range would be $400 - $500
What about you?
Also, lets keep it realistic, real (no transformer from phone to PC or fantasy crap) and considering phone/budget of each person. Basically what Project Ara is really about and can offer.
Im editing the title again: Please keep it realistic Who knows what people are reading this thread. If we post things like 8K resolution screen phones for 200 bucks, we cannot keep this realist.c
I'd be willing to pay up to $600 for a device with 8GB of internal storage with an external storage option, a 21Mp camera with OIS and various low light optimizations, It needs to be at least dual core running at no less than 1.8 Ghz, it needs 2Gb of RAM, an adreno 330 GPU, a 4.7in screen with a resolution that's above 720p, wireless charging, ALL the radios!, wifi 80211ac, a front camera that has 720p recording and is at least 1.3mp, extremely tunable audio quality, and a slightly curved screen.

Just asking for a good DAC and a curved screen will shoot it up more than $600
I based off mine a existing phone and depending on that raised the price compared to it...
For me:
Top-line specs (cpu ram etc...)
But the extra stuff i would buy into it is a good DAC (digital analog converter). I like to hear quality music.
And a best of the bests camera with a big and fast sensor (maybe foveon x3), 3diagonal OIS, led+xenon AND full manual control in it's software. I want to control shutter speed, ISO, explosure, OIS on/off, timer, intervalometer, HDR, brust mode, pixel oversampling and RAW capturing.
I don't want to take photos like on DSLR, but these things are good to have in the creative process :--)

Hello,
With this being talked about now, what will your dream phone have?
Mine is pretty simple:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz
Adreno 330 450MHz
2 GB RAM
3.8 V 2300 mAh, 8 Wh, Qi wireless charging
Slide out QWERTY physical keyboard
4.96 in (126 mm) diagonal IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (1080×1920 px (444 ppi))
8 MP with OIS, f/2.4 aperture and Xenon flash.
1.3 MP Front Camera
3.5 mm TRRS
GPS
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
Infrared port
Every damn radio band so I can use GSM/3G/4G all over the world
Now that I look at it, this phone sounds pretty familiar.........
My price range would be $400 - $500

By the time ARA is available this will be a bit old
But I would take high specs with 3000 or 4000 mAh so it would last more than a day

Because my 2100mhA battery on my nexus 4 only last the day on usual use but can be drained by half on my 1h commute if I stream music while playing games
An HTC One with modules and i'll be happy

Thats why you do and that is not normal usage (internet, music and games)
The phone I do (PHONE) does WAY more than any phone I (or most people) can ask for.
Really i want there to be clean choices.
saying you want a snapdragon 800 in it or a 21 megapixel camera wont help you if that phone comes out in a year or so.
An option to get it pre-assembled.
A rating system for blocks, if you replace a block, ask you to rate/comment on it after a week or so.
More then one company making them.
Multiprocessor support. Get your Snapdragon and your Exynos. More power. Maybe limit that to just more then one copy of the same chip though, i do not see how it would work otherwise.
A separate block that contains the headphone jack, usb, ... so that it can be replaced without replacing the more expensive components.
A small internal battery, so that you can exchange the battery block without rebooting.
Different body shapes. Tablet--Phablet--Phone--Phone with keyboard
An E ink screen option.
Price, depends on components.
An E ink phablet-phone is something else then a DUAL-Tegra with 3 extra battery blocks, 4k screen and no radios except wifi.
- separate DAC/amp (i imagine these will be built into the SoC so hopefully OEMs can make modules that override this)
- 4000mAh battery
- landscape QWERTY
- probably a screen no bigger than 4.7" given that an overly large screen would make using the keyboard untenable
- camera module with a decent sensor size & xenon flash
- multiple SD/microSD card support
- projector
i don't imagine you could have all of these modules on the phone at once though
I'd love to have a phone with a 4.3" 720p AMOLED screen and a Pureview Camera with a hardware shutter key.
CPU would be an Intel Atom paired with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. Also, dual-boot with Android and WP (or whatever OS I want to put on there)
Oh, and the price? $500, maybe? (modular, of course)
I should have added that please make the phone and price realistic; Some of you are saying technologies such as PureView cameras when that is a trademark by Nokia and Nokia would NEVER open source it (with reason and I agree with them)
Independent vendors such as nikon, canon, etc.. might produce modules and provide propietary bins.. nokia as motorola's competitor would probably not agreed. W/o seeing the mdk, I can only guess companies [and a few gifted individuals] would have the resources to develop, nano-cize and produce said modules.. or will motorola be taking a you design.. we produce line.. Future looks exciting either way.. I'd pay $600 for full phone [base + enough modules to make it standard] but in just [visually] glancing the [proposed] module spacing, we'd be lucky to get battery you suggested.. Doesn't seem room unless thickness added [or two module spaces used].. which is/are a bleh idea(s) imo.

I can't see your concept image but the spec you listed is kind of obvious and at list some of it will most likely be a part of its spec. small fine tuning corrections though: with such spec and sony favoring razor like designs: height should be 150 mm or slightly more, thickness 8.5-9mm, weight 170-180 grams, its edges are rumored to be more rounded then Z2.

and Z2 is 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm
so for Z3 of course,will be a bit longer & wider as uses 5.5" (my concept) which is 148 x 75 x 7.2 mm
for 7.2mm would be lighter,155grams...
I can see your image now. i like your concept. looks nice, clean, authentic. i hope sony is staying with glass and metal sides materials - reception friendly.
though, even if it will be wider and taller i still doubt less then 8mm thickness for a phone with such spec plus most likely new internals like WQHD resolution, etc. i watch Z2 tear down and the camera sensor looks almost as thick as the phone thickness, it's crazy. don't forget that. if they make the camera sensor smaller then maybe. i would be amazed and happy if sony can design it with 7.2mm thickness. look at find 7 with 5.5 WQHD display - 9.2mm, but because sony know design better then oppo i'd bet on 8-8.2mm - same as Z2. also, i wonder if the rounded edges will look like in your concept or rounded all around let's say like oppo find 7. is sony staying with omnibalance design? their designer said in an interview that they would like to make a new design... many questions... it would be better if you add a two tone camera LED - i bet sony will add it. it's becoming a standard.
If that screen is 5,5 with that many bezel than than would be SO FKING HUGE!

Not huge at all, considering the big camera sensor, waterproofing design and bigger battery, etc and the phone profile thinness. it's all relative to what internals a phone has.

His concept picture is basically a Z1 from the front/back, the bezels are huge, and if you couple that with the 5,5 screen, you get a totally waste of space phone what you cant even handle.
The spec is reasonable.
The only compains what i hear from reviews is that the Z2 is awkward to handle, but i dont care i have big hands.
5 and 5,2" OK, if they want to go bigger, they'll need to seriously reduce those bezels.

You realistically cannot go further with screen size. I could actually see the screen remaining 5,2" but bezel reducing and the size of the phone reducing compared to the Z2. Ideally, you'd want the top and bottom bezels to be as small as possible and nearly none on the sides. That I would consider a buy. Any additional increase in size and I'd have to give up on these phones...
And it's not just hand size, it's also pocketability. I have an ultra and although it fits in my jeans pockets, it's just too big. You can't sit with it, move around, without risking to actually break the thing (which I thing IS the reason why people say the screens crack);

There is no such thing as ideal for all, only personal preference. ideal for you is not necessarily ideal for me. Z3-4 are very likely to have 5.5" WQHD display and actually all the future flagships because the fact that there are no IPS panels with less then 5.5" for 2k resolution. plus, sony made the compact line for people who want smaller flagships. i personally glad that the new standard will be 5.5" for mid sized flagships. i'm willing to accept less pocketability for bigger display and better spec. nothing is perfect.
in my opinion the ultra has arrived to the borderline of pocketable phones. bigger device then the ultra should be marketed as a device that can be carried in a bag... more like tablet.
Z2 storage is expandable up to 128 (official info), and your Z3 concept will be limited to 64 gb

Then your only future daily driver flagship option is to follow sony compact line (its successor is predicted to have slightly bigger display - 4.5-4.7") or companies that still make 5.0" flagships. most if not ALL OEM's future mid sized flagships from now on will carry 5.5" display. find 7>OnePlus One>G3>Z3, etc. read the news.

I doubt that this is going to happen. I can see them going to mayb 5.3 inches max, but i think anything from 5.5 inches and above is a phablet and I think manufacturers are aware of the ever increasing screen size problem.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with 5.5 inches, but the phone either becomes too wide, too long or both and this makes it rather uncomfortable to use every day and with one hand.
Things I think Sony can improve/add on next phones:
- IP68 instead of IP58 (better dust protection).
- Optical image stabilization instead of Digital image stabilization.
- High FPS recording mode where you can choose, [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] **maybe: [email protected] and [email protected], Can S805 handle this?
- Internal memory, user should be able to choose between 16/32/64GB models, just like Apple do.
- Micro USB 3.0.
- MHL 3.0 support
- Bluetooth 4.1 (S805 supports 4.0 by default, but I read it somewhere that Bluetooth 4.1 can be done with a software update).

Fellow, i understand your preference for smaller devices but stop doubting it - find 7 is on the market being sold right now, oneplus one and g3 are confirmed to have 5.5". z3 is sure to follow them, a safe bet. also, enter japan display and auo websites - major panel manufacturers - 2k displays start from 5.5". OEM's don't want to stay behind in spec sheet. this is how the industry behave. anyway, i'm sure all other companies will wake up from their sleep and follow sony with their minis - making them mini flagships and not overpriced weak mid range phones, so you will have plenty of phones to choose from and not only sony compact. they won't have other choice because as you said, the mid sized flags are getting too big for some people. EDIT: for your information, there is no 5.3" display on the market, not in mass production anyway, so from 5.2" companies can jump to 5.5". anyway, i'm sure the mid sized flags will stay on 5.5" for a long time until devices get fordable because otherwise phablets won't have a legitimacy to exist.

Whilst, I hope manufacturers do not do this, i can see where you're coming from.
Do you think a 2k display sub 5.5inches is feasible?

Yes, i see no reason why it wouldn't be possible, but manufacturers don't do it because it would be harder to notice a difference in resolution in 5" display and 2k displays are more expensive to make. even in 5.5" the change should generally look subtle which is fine but it also depends on how close your eyes are from the display.

Nice concept, though I see no need to make the screen even bigger (5.5 inches sounds huge.)

Your Nexus 6 :)

Hi everyone
I wanted to find out what your personal Nexus 6 specifications would've been if you were in charge of deciding on final specifications. Keep in mind the costs of production and selling price to keep things grounded in reality. I've been thinking about this a while as I keep reading negative points on the Nexus 6, positive points on the Nexus 6 as well as information about upcoming and current phones in the market. I wanted to see just exactly what people want from a Nexus device in a nutshell.
I also thought this could be a bit of light hearted fun
My specifications:
Processor: quad core (or higher) 64bit processor
RAM: 4gigs
Screen: 1080P or QHD with very high brightness & vivid colours (e.g. Note 4, iPhone 6+)
Rear Camera: 16mp 1/2 sensor, dual flash
Front Camera: 4-5mp camera (flash optional - not sure if possible)
Screen Size: 5.5-6"
Body Thickness: 6-7mm
Memory: 32gb, 64gb and 140gb options
Microphones: 4
Speakers: Stereo dual front facing
Battery: 3,600mh+
NFC: Yes
Qi Charging: Yes
Waterproof: Yes (same or higher than Galaxy S5; the current Nexus 6 waterproof is expected to be more 'water-resistant')
Finger Print Scanner: Yes
IR Blaster: Yes
I believe my specifications are completely doable by today's technology and they would easily be able to sell this device at the same price or even $50 more while still maintaining a profit. Even if it is not currently doable today, I believe this phone is totally viable by March 2015 when more 64bit quad core chipsets are released.
I don't think I'm asking for much as basically all my specifications exist today and are included in many phones (at least more than half).

the problem is if such a phone exist then it will be the perfect phone...and there is no need to upgrade even after 5 years....and it has all the best things of all the phones and this isnt possible....
sorry didnt read OP correctly
Nexus 6 plus sd card slot, removable battery, and ir port. Oh and a weight of less than 150 grams. Otherwise for right now I think the nexus 6 is perfect for what I want. Next year then everything would change.
Hopefully by next year project ara is out and we can build our perfect phone. I'm so looking forward to that day!
The Qualcomm 810 64 bit big.Little kits should be out first half of 2015 from what I've read. I am fine with the N6 as it is today in 64gb format. SD card slot would have been nice but 64gb local storage is plenty for me. If they mess around and delay a VZW release long enough I'll wait to see the 810 64bit handset announcements.... I'm up for edging up Dec 10th. Just have to wait for the actual review of a VZW N6 to go up, see if it's all I expect it to be, and if it's truly bootloader unlock able. If so I'll bite. If not I'll wait.
Exactly like they made it

Sounds like an awesome phone and I know we're just talking dream phones here, but I don't think a 3,600mah battery in a waterproof 6-7mm body with a 5.5" screen is at all doable at this point. The Note 4 and Nexus 6 are larger phones and were only able to manage 3,220mah batteries.
Would be nice though!
For me, the N6 would have to bring a Nvidia GTX Titan. And the state of the art i7 from intel.
Useless thread and unrealistc too. Its also funny because the only thing that you dont know if its possible or not (front facing camera with flash aka HTC Disere Eye) already exists! But a Phone with 4GB ram, body thickness 6-7mm, 3600mAh battery, its very possible at this moment...
Current N6 specs, but in my hand right now.
I'd have added a 64 bit processor and removable battery, everything else the same , the 64 bit processor wont be ready available until next year, and the removable battery is never going to happen in the nexus line so that's that
Body: space titanium
Screen protector: sapphire glass
Processor: last Intel i7
RAM: 16GB
Screen: AMOLED display (~2000ppi/dpi) with absolutely no gaps around the screen
Rear Camera: 1000mp, led and xenon flash
Front Camera: 10mp camera
Screen Size: 6"
Body Thickness: 10mm
Memory: minimum 1 TB
Microphones: 4
Speakers: Stereo dual front facing
Battery: Atomic / nuclear
Qi Charging: Yes
Waterproof: Yes (minimum ip68)
Finger Print Scanner: Yes
IR Blaster: Yes
FM radio: yes
Walkie talkie: yes
Network: GSM, CDMA, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, standard USB 3.0, satellite voice/data connection
I would like this in the Nexus 7 since it is too late to change the Nexus 6.
1. Duo sim cards. I need to have 2 phone numbers. One for business and one for personal.
2. Expandable microSD card.
3. Removable battery
4. Larger battery
5. Snapdragon 810
6. 4 RAM
7. Better camera
Everything else can be the same as the Nexus 6.
I think these are doable for the next version.

I hate when people just put the best of everything in these threads, of course that would be the perfect phone but be freaking realistic(and also original) it will cost 1000+ euro.
Personally for me a nexus 6 with smaller display (and a smaller battery accordingly, you can't have both) at around 5 inch, instead of a 2k display a 1080p well calibrated one and a Samsung isocell sensor, snapdragon 805, 3gb, front facing speakers(so what the nexus 6 already has)
So a mix between a moto x and the nexus 6.

sure in the year 2020 lolz
nexus 6 current specs + plus these addons would have been great: usb3.0 microHDMI, removable battery, microSDslot
prolly the top 4 addons to any NEXUS phones but will NEVER happen
5.5 inch display may be better... But with very small bezels including top and bottom.
3900 Mah battery.
I'm still very eager to see what the unlocked non Verizon version of the droid turbo looks like. That one's even easier to get to perfect (for 2014)...add band 12 LTE and an unlocked boot loader.

I didn't see the thread as useless. I explained above - all I saw were debates; negative, positive and random comments on what people thought the Nexus 6 should have been like so I thought it would be nice to actually see a more clear picture of what people would've liked in this phone, or its replacement.
I'm sorry for not knowing if the front facing camera is possible or not...thanks for your input.

I dont think my specs are a perfect phone at all; if these specs came out now, someone would better them next time and therefore THAT would be the 'perfect phone'. Come this time next year I'm sure the specs I listed would definitely not be called unrealistic since 4gig phones are expected early next year with 64bit processors, QHD big screens (5.5"+), IR, OIS, 1/2.5 camera etc, expandable memory, big batteries etc.
64 bit processor, 4 gig ram and high quality vivd 6" IPS screen. Those are all I'd add to a already great phone.
