Smartwatch K2 W100/Star Kingelon K2 Android 4.2 MTK6572 Builtin Camera, Gear Clone? - Other SmartWatches

Detailed "Unboxing" and my first hands on (Samsung Galaxy Gear Watch clone/replica)
(You can find more reviews on my Youtube channel, I have also tested another smartwatch called PW305)
MEGA Review 30 minutes
Model name?
The Smartwatch K2 W100 has many names in the internet. It is also known as Ansmart Swatch Universal Smart Watch, Star Kingelon K2 or Star E2602. They may differ in little bit in the software. But the one I got has weather for the whole world, full keyboard and a lot of languages.
From where did you get your version of the watch?
If your interested in this watch, check the info in the video description (in the unboxing video in the top) on Youtube.
Before I can say if this watch is good or not, I have to test it some more. But the design and materials are very close to the real Samsung Galaxy Gear. My first impression of it was "wow" because it offers really many features and options. Like full Android 4.2.2 OS, built-in camera, radio, wifi, bt, ftp, music player etc. But of course the watch is just a nice toy.
Bluetooth Keyboard
I can pair my BT keyboard with the watch, and then I can use that to type. Works perfect! also I can with no problem disable the BT keyboard again if not needed in the settings of the watch. Just like on any other normal phone.
ROOT?
It can be rooted very easy and fast with http://www.shuame.com/en/root/ (Root Genius tool).
This should be pretty safe, and even after a factory reset of the watch, it will still be rooted. But still you do this by your own risk!
Play Store?
The watch doesnt come with the Play store, but I managed to install the Play store myself on the watch and it works 100% without errors. But it requires ROOT. Also I have installed Aptoide (alternative app store). I have tried Google Music app, Temple Run 1, Antutu and Flappy Bird, all these works great. I even got Youtube and Facebook to work!
Steps how to install the Play Store
(Batterylife without any Gapps installed is really good, but as soon you install Gapps it will reduce batterylife dramatic.)
1. Root the watch using http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
2. Download the GoogleInstallerR.apk here http://www.mediafire.com/download/9lunc7lw7c34ca0/GoogleInstallerR.apk
3. Download also this one http://www.mediafire.com/download/m00z1385acthrdm/Gapps-s7yler.rar
4. Copy "GoogleInstallerR.apk" to the watch, install it on the watch, after that you need to run the app from the app drawer on the watch called "GoogleInstaller" and check or install all the Gapps. You can also install the Play Store with that one, maps, gmail, etc.
5. If the Play Store can be startet and works for you then your good! If not or if the Play Store crashes or gives error then, unpack the Gapps-s7yler.rar (from step 3) and install first the "Google Account Manager APK" file on the watch after that also install the "GooglePlay.Installer(ALL-Colors).apk" on the watch, when that one is installed you need to run "Installer cracked Google Play" from the app drawer, inside the app choose "Modded Google Play Original Style", and then press the button "Install and Reboot".
6. After a fresh reboot, try the Play Store (maybe you need to sign in) again and it should work without errors or problems!

Some few cons:
I would wish that the screen on the K2 was a little bit bigger, the PW305 has a bigger screen but overall the same size
The viewing angle on the screen from the sides, or in horizontal mode is not that good, straight front it is good
The lens on the camera is just put on with some tape, you may glue it on better
Speaker quality is not the greatest, but it is okay
While you have a conversation, and you need to use the dialer, it can lag a little bit
The "hang on" button after a conversation can also sometimes lag a little bit
Not all Play Store games or app will work, some work other don't
The "gesture auto screen on" does not always work for me
The bluetooth range could be a lot better, seems only to be 4-5 meters max
Batterylife without any Gapps installed is really good, but as soon you install Gapps it will reduce batterylife dramatic.
Antutu score
7400 pretty nice for a watch
Antutu tells me that it has these sensors
Temperature Sensor
Pressure Sensor
Ambient Temperature Sensor
E-Compas
Acceleration Sensor
Direction Sensor
Relative Humidity Sensor

Here a Video sample/test done by the built-in camera in the watch. You can only do small clips in 15 to max 300 seconds. The video quality is not high, but it is possible to see what it is, and of course it is with sound

And how to install a keyboard to answer messages?

If it has a mic then voice to text with offline voice recognition and don't worry about keyboards.

What messages do you talk about? SMS, emails? My watch already have a built-in keyboard that I can use.

1. Root the watch using http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
2. Download the GoogleInstallerR.apk here http://www.mediafire.com/download/9lunc7lw7c34ca0/GoogleInstallerR.apk

I saw your excellent instructions but can any one post the watch apks for the most common apps like:
1. Gmail
2. Facebook
3. Twitter
4. Instagram
Etcetera... I'd rather just manually push the apks to the watch and install them one-by-one. If there is a repository of watch apps somewhere please do let me know. BTW, I started in Android with the first Android phone (T-Mobile G1) and have rooted and worked on a dozen or more phones since then so I'm not a noobie to this, just getting lazy in my old age!
So far I have this watch, another Gear clone thats just a Bluetooth watch and both the Sony SW1 and SW2. I just ordered another from Electrofame.com so I'm pretty hooked on these little devices!
Thanks!!!!

Ok thnx I will take a look, btw. how is your batterylife? Seems mine is rather poor but only when connected via BT and WiFi. Thinking, if there is a way we can extend the batterylife a bit?
EDIT: nevermind, I found out it must be because of the Gapps I have installed. Without all the Gapps and Gps/Location on (I am now only logged into the Play Store) I suddenly get super battery life again.
Now after 10 hours! I am still on 70% battery with both WiFi and BT on.

Have you set it up correctly inside the SWatchManger app on the phone?
Settings>Notifications>Advanced>Must enable Advanced Notification
After that
Settings>Notifications>Advanced>More notification and check the apps you want notifications from.

I am having same problem

Not receiving any push notifications either. SW manager is set up correctly.
Any ideas?

if your on the older rom clear the app data and cache, i had to do this constantly. if your on the new rom delete swatch manager and send the one on your watch to your phone.

New video chat/conference software

I ported my ReelPortal video conference to Android recently. It's reported to be working on the Viewsonic G Tablet with certain ROMs. I believe it works on the Archos 70/101, but I don't know how well, since the G Tablet has the Tegra-2 dual-core CPU and the Archos don't.
Anyhow, my app is published on AppLibs, or you can get it from the G Tablet thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908613
Please provide feedback if you try it. Thanks.
Beware of firmware 2.1.3 (not sure if 2.1.4 is any better):
Kashban: I got word from one of my friends owning an Archos 101 (non rooted, latest firmware 2.1.3), that ReelPortal is very buggy and slow on it. I have no problems on UrukDroid based on FW 2.0.71 and still waiting for Uruk to move on to the new FW, so as soon as I migrated I will test again.
Thanks! I will try it out

Feedback
First of all: Nicely done.
I tested it between my HTC Desire, the Archos 101it and my Netbook running Win7 32bit using Firefox 3.6.x.
A few Things which may be improved from my Perspective:
Exit function:
Not prominent enough on Android: If you just chose to back out of the App, it's still running, including Video and Audio broadcast. This is good if you want to bring another App to front without breaking the Conference, but if you intend to disconnect, you have to longpress on the Screen, which isn't obvious at first. You may accidently broadcast on and on without knowing.
Proposal: If leaving the app by the back button, ask the user what to do: Exit Application or put it in the background with running video/audio or put it in the background with video/audio stopped and muted. If the App is in background and still sending, it should show this by an Icon in the status bar of Android. Don't know if that's a goal possible to achieve with Adobe Air. Otherwise you may be sending video / audio without knowing and giving away your privacy.
Regarding privacy: Is there a way to encrypt the Streams? If not, even with your own Server someone might spoof on the Connection (I know it's P2P, but nevertheless routed through internet relays).
Login screen:
Sometimes when writing into the Nickname / Room Fields a leading Space is added and the Strings are not accepted. Better strip any leading and trailing Spaces from the input Strings without bothering the User.
Terms of Service: Should be gone once I clicked "save" and changable by Options Menu.
Would be nice if the App stores my Nickname and the Room I used before
Moving Windows are fancy but not needed on the login Screen. I was more irritated by it.
The Conference Room:
Paused Video Stream of Participant: No indication whether the Connection has been lost or the Participant paused the Stream. Perhaps putting a Message on Screen for Paused Streams (and Muted voice) would lead to more Confidence in the Robustness of the Software and the Connection.
Size of Conference Room Items: On small Screens like my 3.7 inch one of the Desire the Chat Window Controls are too small. Everything else seems to be ok.
Video Stream Quality. How is the initial setting calculated? Is it depending on the current kBit/s or just an overall Default?
Anyhow, this is a good Piece of Software you developed here. I'm not familiar with other Solutions on Android like Fring or Skype, but it looks very promising given the Fact it runs on all Devices with Flash Capacity (even iPhones and iPads with the Packager from Adobe)
Best regards,
Kashban

If you press and hold on the main screen for 4 seconds, a pop up menu appears. It has the "Exit" and "Toggle Screen" buttons. The toggle screen suppose to toggle the screen between FullScreen and Normal (which is default to 800x480), but it doesn't work on Android because currently on Android, Normal equals FullScreen. I will look for other ways to get around it. Thanks for bringing it up.
For netbook, you can run it from a web browser at www.reelportal.com. Or you can install the AIR version via download link.
BTW, double-clicking on the main screen should also toggle the screen, but also not working on Android .

it needs to have Android 2.2, and Adobe AIR 2.5.1, otherwise it won't function even if you manage to install it, because the API is not there to access the hardware....also, if your device have 2 cameras, the current API only allow access to 1 camera (most likely the back one). Android 2.3 would allow access to multiple cameras.

thanks...well the camera resolution is currently set to low (320x240) just so the device won't bog down...my plan is to allow the user to select the resolution, in a future version...but i don't have an Archos, so i can't really tell its actual camera quality.

Definitely! Actually, the original settings was at 640x480, but when some Samsung Galaxy Tab user reported the device was crawling at 1 frame every 5 secs, I figured the tablet cpu may not able to handle it, so I reduced it for now. But I do want to make it a user adjustable control. Same with the frame rate.

can you describe your setup details, like:
- are you testing between the 101T and another PC or something else
- is there lag with audio only test (video turned off)
- is there lag with video only test
- and at which end (tablet or PC) do you see the lag
- are you using P2P mode (default), or client/server mode
thanks.
New Version (1.0.1)
i just added a newer (experimental) version in the first post of the viewsonic thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908613
Changes:
- option to save nickname and room last used (you can clear it by set the fields to blank, then save).
- added new field to enter the Server ip address, in case you want to run your own server (if not set, it defaults to the last used server)
- hide that annoying red TOS box when you check it, and click Save.
- when you enable the webcam, you can set its resolution and frame rate.
the web client is running the new version also. feedback please.

The flash app is right there.

My First impressions with XXLP6

As usual, for noobs.
Previous test ROM was LP2,
• http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445286
Question: Is this ROM a thumb down?
• I am confused to call it better/worse than previous one as some issues were solved and some bugs reintroduced !
• Phone calls were good, earpiece, loudspeaker volume in call was very good. NR was there present usually.
• On previous ROM I said Vibration intensity for incoming call was little bit fainter than previous, now it's back strong again.
• Same incoming call UI and Answer/Reject animations doesn't work.
• WiFi, Bluetooth works absolutely fine. Same goes for 3G/H+
• 480x800 walls does NOT set for Home screen. Bad. They set at Lock screen however.
• Market is working fine and downloading works too.
• Swype is present. Default keyboard layout is QWERTZ instead of QWERTY.
• That kiddish feature called Face unlock works, tried it at least 10 times and worked every time.
• GPS lock is fine in GMaps, Sygic.. But there is no satellites found in GPS Status/GPS Test app or couldn't get a lock in Endomondo and similar apps.
• Now the big issue, There is NO option to switch networks, aka Network Mode. Thus you won't be able to change network modes to 2G or WCDMA. The default Auto option is enabled I guess.
Now for that reason I got shaky network signal all time, in my area 3G signal is weak however.
*** If you wanna stick with this ROM and don't know how to switch to 2G then go to keypad, dial *#*#4636#*#*
and tap on Phone information and scroll down to change the network to 'GSM Only', see below,

}
• Another weird thing, FM Radio does NOT work. Is it due to the above reason? I guess not, cause it wasn't working either after switching to GSM only.
• I like the new gray background of Stock email app, the emails are now more readable than previous black background.
• Camera and Video recording works fine as usual.
• Same GMail app.
• Lock screen ICS animation is weird, again.
• Google+, Messenger and Kies Air apps are included. Don't why this is a worth mentioning point in changelog of Sammobile!
• Task manager is also same and that's normal, don't know what Sammobile tried to say by saying 'Task manager is back' !
• Development option is present and same as usual.
• 1080P YouTube videos ran smoothly.
• Now another big thing, this is a positive though. 1080P videos ran very fine/smoothly with Stock Video player.
• Same Missed call and SMS icon in Lock screen.
• Restart option turns off the device but doesn't actually Restarts it!
• There is an additional option to Vibrate the device when a call is connected under Settings-Call alert. However the vibration intensity is damn faint that you won't even feel it. This ain't a big thing anyway as there are plenty apps available to do this purpose.
• Touch keys glow and haptic feedback works, but they reduced the vibration intensity of haptic, which is good.
• Call log entries shows a compact mode count if you call a same number, but if you call a different number at middle then that previous calling number gets separated again and starts counting a new compact mode until you dial a different number.
• The Stock Browser worked great as usual. I don't think there is any other things needed to do finish/polish this thing, it's just awesome. Still an Exit option would be more than welcome.
• Phone does go to deep sleep. Confirmed. I was on CF kernel though.
• Connection with PC worked at first go.
• The elastic scrolling all over the UI is great and the best I've used so far, it's smooth and fast.
• The touch screen response seems a bit better than previous leaks.
• No comments on battery life as I am using it for just three hours now. I am not that much interested in that anymore anyway
*** More points will be added later ***
••• Conclusion:
Well some things like 1080P Video Playback and Smart input are back but at the same time they introduced some bugs, some bad issues, like no Network mode, FM doesn't work, Wallpapers don't set and etc. So no, it's NOT a daily usable ROM and I don't think I'd call this an update from the previous version other than the smooth HD Video Playback.
Attaching some screenshots as usual, they are more or less same. And will upload a work through video later.
In the mean time you guys, who have already tried or using this ROM please give your feedback here, both Pros and Cons.

Market isn't working for me.
I get the same "server error" with "retry" that I had before.
Nothing I've done has been able to resolve it. Factory reset, etc.
Any ideas?
Could someone please do me (and possibly others) a small favor? There is only one thing preventing me from migrating to ICS, and that is non-functioning tethering and wireless AP.. Could someone test this? The last LP2 build didn't work with tethering and wireless AP, it only gave HTTP Error 324 empty response on all websites

The same for me. May be the author not test G android App, only with SS App.
Does your video playback test mean HW codecs are working?
Can you for your next tests possible run Big Buck Bunny 720p h264 on your phone?
This would be a really adequate test to confirm working h264.
well i feel XXLP6 smoother than other versions but its not like gingerbread i get 6500 points in antutu :O better than darky and other custom roms
dialer keypad laggs on press but the rom overall is acceplable

I really don't know what's the problem with you guys! For me Market, GTalk and all the G apps are working absolutely fine.
You will be able to see it when I attach the video later. You can already see the screenshots which shows that GTalk, Maps, GMail, Market all are working.

Well I don't have a h264 right now, the file I tested was a 1080P FLV video, it ran smooth and I don't think a 1080P h264 will push the hardware more than that FLV file, still I'll try to do the test you said and post back.

Oh buddy please, benchmarks shouldn't be taken under consideration to decide ROM's fastness or smoothness.
Market wont work, neither would the samsung update -- service error!
does the Netflix app work on this ROM?
Massive step backwards then!
Does it have ICS Native Spell correction? or can be added using any apk / lib from CM9 ?

• Now the big issue, There is NO option to switch networks, aka Network Mode. Thus you won't be able to change network modes to 2G or WCDMA. The default Auto option is enabled I guess.
Now for that reason I got shaky network signal all time, in my area 3G signal is weak however.

Com'on Samsung, you can't just made the very same mistake Apple did with iPhone 4S!
It's battery drainer....
I'm really starting to believe in Apple fanbois that Samsung copies everything from them
Do widgets work for changing 3g to 2g?

SOFT BRICK OR STUCK in a BOOTLOOP? REVERT TO STOCK
TWRP is required to use the following backup. Please make sure you still have it installed and are able to access it.
Download the stock OS backup Here http://www.4shared.com/zip/dxnYQfmpba/stock_zgpax.html
You need to be able to access your SD Card, if not you may need to use an external SD. Navigate to /SD Card/TWRP/Backup (or create the folder if it doesn't exist). Next you need to make a folder called Stock ZGPAX. Then your are going to place the files you downloaded here from the link above.
IF you cannot access your SD Card, try using an external MicroSD card. You will have to make the /TWRP/Backup Directory and Folder yourself... and then place the files in there manually.
Finally, you will REBOOT into TWRP and Navigate to the restore option. Look for your folder there and restore this backup.
.
.
.
ROOT
Just install "framaroot.apk or sideload to the watch's internal storage and install - Do not ask for links, just google it

SMS & INCOMING CALL NOTIFICATIONS
Thus far, the only app i have verified to work RELIABLY is TABLET TALK, which is currently $2.99 in the PLAY Store.
You may need to install PIE CONTROLS to have the MENU BUTTON functionality first. PIE is free in play store - Afterwards:
Install on Both, android phone and the smart watch.
On the android phone you are using, setup the device in settings >> at the bottom >> The phone should be selected as PHONE
On the smart watch, go into the same settings menu at the bottom >> The device should be selected as tablet
On both devices, you should press the bluetooth icon.... Both will turn yellow, and then GREEN, when they paid. DONE!
PERFORMANCE
Using a TOOLBOX / RooT app (such as Rom TOOLBOX or Trickstermod) recommendations below to help performance and battery.
Scheduler --> Change I/O to DEADLINE - This will increase SD Card read Speeds --> The stock is CFG, Deadline is usually faster!
Governor ---> Try ON DEMAND Governor. Can help eliminate over-heating without sacrificing performance. Stock is Hybrid
XPOSED FRAMEWORK
.A number of apps will not fit within the visible area of the device without changing the DPI. Confirmed that Xposed and App settings works with the ZGPAX and can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072081. For example, in the ADW popup dialog you cannot change screen borders or change wallpaper until you change the DPI to 100.

USEFULE APPS
Some useful good apps that install and work for this device. Will update frequently with your help:
Battery Monitor Widget - This widget may help updating the battery percent and reflect more accurately at all times.
Awesome ON OFF - Similar to galaxy gear, turning the watch activates screen on, with vibrate
Shake Screen ON OFF by Freebooks - Simple shake to turn the screen on or off - no need to use home button
CPU SPY is good for monitoring deep sleep... in case you install an app that keeps the device awake.
ADW EX Launcher - 4x4 grid is perfect, runs smoothly, can stretch clock widgets and such
Active Apps - Good for clearing apps and Ram in one convenient location
DigiClock - Large 4x4 clock with built in themes
Frama Root - For quick rooting
Google Maps - Be sure to actually download and install from the playstore or it may not work
NO Lock - Removes lockscreen and you can sleep / wake watch from whichever home screen you left off at
PIE controls - So you don't have to always be hitting the hardware POWER and Back buttons... also allows many toggles
ROM TOOLBOX - All root tools, file explorer, boot animation etc etc
thanks for your works
i wainting arrive my device
Volume Change
Since mine isn't here yet, I guess someone else can test this. It's from the Joe's Tech Review website and it's for a different model, but it might work.
Z1 smart watch phone Engineering code. (Bas Advalvas)
INCREASE CALL VOLUME: found it!
Finally found it. And it's easy! Call sound value is too low on the Z1, 1 of it's main drawbacks.
■Start the phone dialer and dial: *#*#8787#*#* This will start Engineer Mode on de the Z1.
■Select Audio, then Normal Mode. Choose the 'type' Speech, change the value 6 into 0 (that's the loudest) and press Set.
■Press the Back button once. Now select LoudSpeaker Mode. Choose the 'type' Speech, change the value 24 (?) into 10 (on my Z1, the value 0 made the sound very soft, probably because of the system that prevents feedbacklooping from speaker to microphone (how you call this?)) and press Set. Press the Back Button a few times to leave Engineer Mode.
That's all! The standard call volume increases a bit (40%?), but the handsfree volume (which is otherwise about the same as the standard) inceases a lot (150%?) AND the annoying interference sound is now gone!!!

The speaker is incredibly loud... and being that you haven't actually received your zgpax, i don't think you will need any volume increase.
Would you describe some of the customization you've performed with ADW-EX in order to get such a great look? I haven't used the pay version before, so perhaps it is a silly question, but how did you get such large icons on the main page?
I'm considering buying this watch. Two questions:
1. How does it handle notifications from my phone?
2. Can I use Bluetooth to connect my phone to it since I don't want to put my SIM card in there?
zNiiC,
Check out this other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507033&page=8
To answer your questions directly, not yet. It is designed to be a stand-alone device (that being said it may happen eventually).

Humm. Bummer. I think I read somewhere that someone used mysms. Not sure if it was in the other thread or for a different watch.
If you really want to make it happen, you can use Tasker, Zapier and Pushover to do the job. Here's a useful explanation intended for a different application. Bottom line: if you expect to transmit more than 100 notifications per month, you'll have to shell out some ridiculous money.

Im using 1.3.3.8 which is an over hauled update of the app... All prior versions are clearly not as good.
I downloaded digi clock widget, which has tons of built in theme and stretches out nicely (4X4 widget).
Also disabled action bar in adw, disable dock, and grid set to 4x4 for the homescreens. That's really the foundation of my cosmetic tweaks. Also i completely disabled lockscreen as described in OP so immediately the watch awakens to the clock on the homescreen

Hi guys,
Newbie here. I too bought the ZGPAX smart watch about 3 weeks ago, OEM version. I also purchased another model EC-309 from HOPU watches, which is based on similar hardware MTK6577, Android 4.0 and with the extra that it has 3G network, different hardware layout (camera on the side not front).
Purchased the ZGPAX for around 140$ odd plus shipping, EC-309 on the other hand was priced above $230. Full disclosure, I own a retail store selling OEM Android tablets in Indochina and would like to add smart watches into my product portfolio.
I would like to get some tips on how to extend the battery life seeing as some users managed to be able to get 1 to 1 1/2 days use on a single charge . Rooted the devices, lowered the CPU range. Tried basic user stuff like, screen timeout, brightness. Switched from 3G to GSM. Still cant get more than 6-8hr battery life. Have tried DX battery Saver Pro, this really extend the batt life but at the at the expense of shutting off wifi and 3G (not acceptable solution). Any other ideas?
For those who might be interested, here's a comparison of the two devices
1) ZGPAX touchscreen runs much hotter than the EC-309
2) ZGPAX has superior speakers, music sounds clearer and louder, no distortion at higher levels
3) ZGPAX has SD card slot, EC-309 only has internal 4GB
4) EC-309 slightly better finish, aluminium bezel, ZGPAX feels a little plasticky
5) Similar firmware for both models. Same issues, Google voice, Skype, Facebook crashes or does not work.
6) Similar battery life - 6 to 8 hr max
7) Similar battery monitoring issues - battery indicator not accurate
8) Both models have good wifi and 3G reception
9) EC-309 comes with Launcher 8 as a default..Win 8 style launcher, no custom launcher like ZGPAX.
10) EC-309 uses micro SIM , ZGPAX regular SIM size
Will share more on apps that work for me soon.

Really depends on how you use the device.... i could get 3 / 4 days out of it, simply using it as a watch to check the time. Streaming wi-fi and videos and downloading stuff is a whole different story. Have you tried changing the CPU Governor? I have not lowered the stock cpu settings... mine sits at 1001mhz max and 250 min. Deep sleeps about 90% of the time

Much thanks for the quick feedback BigBison! Frankly the watch gets fully used most days, I am actively chatting on WeChat, checking time, playing around with some basic voice recognition apps (utter, voice reading). Am trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the device. Will try to lower the CPU settings to half 667mhz and see if that helps. IO on deadline and Govenor OnDemand.
BTW, Any devs out there want to help with Custom ROMS? Am happy to donate towards the purchase of a smartwatch for the dev if it can help resolve the battery, Skype, Facebook and Voice search issues.
Also heard from my OEM supplier in China that a new version with Android 4.3 will be coming out early 1st Quarter 14. Will keep you guys informed.

wow that is very cool! keep us posted, we love updates! haha
Also if you find useful information or good apps for the watch let me know so i can update the OP in the meantime for other peeps.
Cheers!
There's also Augmented Smart Watch Pro (Play Store), however I suspect it's still the same issue that ZGPAX is a phone, not a watch. Might be worthwhile to reach out to those developers to check their pulse on this application.

Zenfone 2 Bloatware (not bad at all)

Guys i have being playing around with the phone for 3 or 4 days. My first impression as every one was WTF 4562398562389476 Bloatware apps installed. And i did remove all of them or disabled them. (im using original rom). I have also removed all the GAAPS, cleaner and all that stuff from the phone.
But it crossed from my mind why not to check ASSUS apps.
Splendid: This aps gives you full control of the display. You can enable blue light filter, vivid color mod, you can control hue and saturation, the temperature of the image also. its a very complete app and its not bad at all.

SOS message and some other thinks . this app is not very good it does drains your battery if you turn off the LED and you left the app opened. so close the app when you stop using it. There is not need all this options we only want turn on the led to use the celphone as a flashlight.
FM RADIO: I have not tested due i did not connected a head phone yet. but it should be good.
Kids Mode: I have not used it but its good one. you can configure the phone to have only some apps that kids can use.
Asus Mobile Manager: I have mixed feelins with this app. it does make some short cuts to the ui or other apps. but what can you do there is. you can configure not to start apps when the celphone boots. also you can make applications not to send notifications. You can clean the memory from apps loaded. And go to the Battery saver app.
Audio Wizard Basically you can select music modes presets
Auto Start Manager: This app is shown inside Asus Mobile Manager. it lets you block apps to start when the celphone boots.
Camera: This is the camera app there are lots of review. it has tons of options its very good.
Asus Cover: This app lets you configure the Flip cover when its installed on the phone. i dont have one so there its not much to do here.
Email: Im very happy with this app i have connected to Outlook server and it works grate it has tons of options very complete. Probably it is not the best but its ok for most users.
Calendar: tis a calendar its very good also. i have synchronized to outlook sever works perfect tons of options to configure.
Regarding the ASUS IU. its great its fluid and you can tweak all aspects from the interface. you can modify fonts, effects, colors etc. it may be not as complet as nova or similar launchers. but for most of us the job is well done.
There are some others apps that i still have disabled. like:
Mirror:(its enable the front camera (selfie))
Remote link: allows you control your pc from the cellphone. (this is not bad at all if you need it)
Party link: i think it was like an app to share contact in a party but the other person should have the app installed also. The idea is not bad but too complicated to send a contact.
ShareLink: Dont remeber waht was this.
SuperNote: An app to do notes. im using other so i don´t have any opinion on this. But should not be bad at all.
WhatsNext: its like shows you what you have to do next in your calendar. its like a shot cut to your schedule.
ZenCircle and ZenTalk don´know like something "SOCIAL"
Giving a thought what i can say of ASUS apps. they are not bad at all i was expecting very bad apps. and they are being updated so it may be good to give them a try. they are balanced for productivity and leasure. they are quick and elegant. what i can say thumbs up for almost all of them
i cant deny they are A LOT.
Most of the bloatware can be disabled now. On previous versions of the firmware, this could not be achieved without rooting. That being said, its hard to deny that a select few of the Asus apps are actually quite useful and designed well for use.

i was not aware. good to know they are making things better. we need to wait 5.1.1 update to have better battery performance.
There is not even an iota of doubt that they are making things better but they should have released 5.1 now. its getting late every single day
PhotoCollage and Minimovie and flashlight are excellent aps. The others i don't use.
Let 5.1 come first and then you'll get real performance cause 5.0 supports only 32 bit unlike 5.1, it supports 64 bit too and memory bug leak is mind **** on 5.0
I actually like Splendid. Wish I could download it for my other devices such as my shield tablet.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
I did disable 23 apps. Wish I could disable asus web storage
Yeah, PC Link is pretty cool. Love the mirroring. Thanks for your post!

yes I've latest firmware with WW version, I'm having one problem more. Does 2g work on second sim?
Well, agree that some of them are good - I like Splendid and Picture Collage, the camera app is good, and the PC Link suite are good. But the calendar is basically the same as Google one but much uglier. Mail app I prefered the ASUS one to Gmail, but why both preinstalled? Waste of space - shouldn't bother with Gmail one, those who want it can get from playstore. The Supernote app is awful - the finger writing function is just plain useless. Party Link is pointless. The torch app is OTT - a simple quick settings toggle would suffice. Live water - waste of space. Browser - why? It has Chrome, surely most people use that? I suppose some of the apps that duplicate Google app functions are needed for the CN sku, but we don't need them on WW models. I could go on, but I won't. Basically, I just wish they had put in only the core apps and then an ASUS Apps Hub app that introduces extra apps you could choose to get from the playstore according to your need.

[MOD][PORT] Samsung Gear 360 Manager (Universal mod for any devices with Android 5.0)

Samsung Gear 360 Manager (Mod without LiveView for any phones and tablets with Android 5.0 or higher)

Now as a remote for Gear 360, you can use any phone with Android 5.0 or higher!
This level of compatibility we were able to achieve due to the fact that our programmer was removed by the LiveView module (preview in real time)..
Therefore, even on slower and older phones like Samsung GALAXY S4 and Note 3 this app works and allows you to change Exposure settings, white Balance, HDR as well as set limits ISO. And most importantly, to remotely control shutter release on spherical camera Gear 360 to making photos the precisely the right moment, not when the timer expires.
This modification is based on modification of established respected Bin4ry.
Mods:
1.) Removed LiveView to support all devices (by Dionis10)
2.) Replaced by UI icons on a large and high quality (Designed by Admin ALLGe.RU)
3.) Removed device lock (by Bin4ry)
Requested and paid for the creation of this modification: ROSTOVisualFX
Installation requirements:
1. Any devices from any manufacturer with the OS Android 5.0 or higher.
2. You need to install Samsung Accessory Service (You will be prompted to install this component automatically after you install Gear 360 Manager).
We recommend you to install our mod, in case if on Your device is not running LiveView in the mod from Bin4ry or You don't need LiveView or You want to save battery charge camera and phone without LiveView.
Download the latest version You can always get on the official website of the developers of this modification here:

Stitching and saving problem... only stitched up to 29% and save up to 50% and it stop, nothing done. Also when pressed on the recording, it recorded but can't stop it. The stop button won't responded. There are other problem... when changing lens to different mode, it can't changed back. I have to X out the app and re-open it again in order to change.
Anyone got this to work with the Pixel XL?

Like the Z3 has a built-in recording function of the screen - if not more difficult please remove the video of how it works. I failed to connect SGS4 to SYVR360, can I something not so do.

Hi,
I use the Galaxy S5 with Android 6.0.1. and the latest firmware on Gear 360.
I tried the app By Bin4ry, but due to problems with the live view I could not use. I installed the app By ROSTOVisualFX and may be used, make a photo, but not a stich panorama (only up to 60-70%).
Is there a solution for this problem?
Regards,
Midhat
Does not work on my Pixel. Attempted on Nexus7 and the app at least opens but unable to control camera.

Read carefully the page on allge.ru - stitching panoramas on your phone is not supported! Do stitching of panoramas on the computer is easier and better with the latest version of ActionDirector.

samsung s4
Hi guys
great work!!!
I need information about samsung s4, my last app version don't work (no preview) , i've write it in the forum a few months ago.
I can use this way to use my phone?
It would be enough to use the LivePreview just to see the shots before recording and to make some adjustments.
Any chance for an update?
