SOFT BRICK OR STUCK in a BOOTLOOP? REVERT TO STOCK
TWRP is required to use the following backup. Please make sure you still have it installed and are able to access it.
Download the stock OS backup Here http://www.4shared.com/zip/dxnYQfmpba/stock_zgpax.html
You need to be able to access your SD Card, if not you may need to use an external SD. Navigate to /SD Card/TWRP/Backup (or create the folder if it doesn't exist). Next you need to make a folder called Stock ZGPAX. Then your are going to place the files you downloaded here from the link above.
IF you cannot access your SD Card, try using an external MicroSD card. You will have to make the /TWRP/Backup Directory and Folder yourself... and then place the files in there manually.
Finally, you will REBOOT into TWRP and Navigate to the restore option. Look for your folder there and restore this backup.
.
.
.
ROOT
Just install "framaroot.apk or sideload to the watch's internal storage and install - Do not ask for links, just google it
.
.
.
RECOVERY
To install TWRP, you can download and install RECOVERY TOOLS for Free. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools
Next download to Internal SD This TWRP image https://www.dropbox.com/s/05818ubth99f2x9/twrprecovery.img and UI.Zip https://www.dropbox.com/s/f59htzer97tvliz/ui.zip
--Open Recovery Tools - Select FLASH OTHER RECOVERY - Locate and Select the twrp.IMG file you downloaded and hit YES. Continue to flash...
--Download UI.zip Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52782588&postcount=892 Make sure you place it in --> Internal Storage/TWRP/theme - (you are actually going to make this folder yourself)
--Reboot into recovery (Hold down back+power) and you should see twrp.

STOCK ANALOG CLOCK LOCKSCREEN / SCREENSAVER BYPASS
This will prevent the stock lockscreen analog clock and launcher from showing up when you press the power button to turn the screen off

SMS & INCOMING CALL NOTIFICATIONS
Thus far, the only app i have verified to work RELIABLY is TABLET TALK, which is currently $2.99 in the PLAY Store.
You may need to install PIE CONTROLS to have the MENU BUTTON functionality first. PIE is free in play store - Afterwards:
Install on Both, android phone and the smart watch.
On the android phone you are using, setup the device in settings >> at the bottom >> The phone should be selected as PHONE
On the smart watch, go into the same settings menu at the bottom >> The device should be selected as tablet
On both devices, you should press the bluetooth icon.... Both will turn yellow, and then GREEN, when they paid. DONE!
PERFORMANCE
Using a TOOLBOX / RooT app (such as Rom TOOLBOX or Trickstermod) recommendations below to help performance and battery.
Scheduler --> Change I/O to DEADLINE - This will increase SD Card read Speeds --> The stock is CFG, Deadline is usually faster!
Governor ---> Try ON DEMAND Governor. Can help eliminate over-heating without sacrificing performance. Stock is Hybrid
XPOSED FRAMEWORK
.A number of apps will not fit within the visible area of the device without changing the DPI. Confirmed that Xposed and App settings works with the ZGPAX and can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072081. For example, in the ADW popup dialog you cannot change screen borders or change wallpaper until you change the DPI to 100.

USEFULE APPS
Some useful good apps that install and work for this device. Will update frequently with your help:
Battery Monitor Widget - This widget may help updating the battery percent and reflect more accurately at all times.
Awesome ON OFF - Similar to galaxy gear, turning the watch activates screen on, with vibrate
Shake Screen ON OFF by Freebooks - Simple shake to turn the screen on or off - no need to use home button
CPU SPY is good for monitoring deep sleep... in case you install an app that keeps the device awake.
ADW EX Launcher - 4x4 grid is perfect, runs smoothly, can stretch clock widgets and such
Active Apps - Good for clearing apps and Ram in one convenient location
DigiClock - Large 4x4 clock with built in themes
Frama Root - For quick rooting
Google Maps - Be sure to actually download and install from the playstore or it may not work
NO Lock - Removes lockscreen and you can sleep / wake watch from whichever home screen you left off at
PIE controls - So you don't have to always be hitting the hardware POWER and Back buttons... also allows many toggles
ROM TOOLBOX - All root tools, file explorer, boot animation etc etc

thanks for your works
i wainting arrive my device

Volume Change
Since mine isn't here yet, I guess someone else can test this. It's from the Joe's Tech Review website and it's for a different model, but it might work.
Z1 smart watch phone Engineering code. (Bas Advalvas)
INCREASE CALL VOLUME: found it!
Finally found it. And it's easy! Call sound value is too low on the Z1, 1 of it's main drawbacks.
■Start the phone dialer and dial: *#*#8787#*#* This will start Engineer Mode on de the Z1.
■Select Audio, then Normal Mode. Choose the 'type' Speech, change the value 6 into 0 (that's the loudest) and press Set.
■Press the Back button once. Now select LoudSpeaker Mode. Choose the 'type' Speech, change the value 24 (?) into 10 (on my Z1, the value 0 made the sound very soft, probably because of the system that prevents feedbacklooping from speaker to microphone (how you call this?)) and press Set. Press the Back Button a few times to leave Engineer Mode.
That's all! The standard call volume increases a bit (40%?), but the handsfree volume (which is otherwise about the same as the standard) inceases a lot (150%?) AND the annoying interference sound is now gone!!!

The speaker is incredibly loud... and being that you haven't actually received your zgpax, i don't think you will need any volume increase.

Would you describe some of the customization you've performed with ADW-EX in order to get such a great look? I haven't used the pay version before, so perhaps it is a silly question, but how did you get such large icons on the main page?

I'm considering buying this watch. Two questions:
1. How does it handle notifications from my phone?
2. Can I use Bluetooth to connect my phone to it since I don't want to put my SIM card in there?

zNiiC,
Check out this other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507033&page=8
To answer your questions directly, not yet. It is designed to be a stand-alone device (that being said it may happen eventually).

Yea I've seen that thread. Could you possibly tie your smartphone to this watch with some sort of app to recieve notifications on it?

Humm. Bummer. I think I read somewhere that someone used mysms. Not sure if it was in the other thread or for a different watch.

If you really want to make it happen, you can use Tasker, Zapier and Pushover to do the job. Here's a useful explanation intended for a different application. Bottom line: if you expect to transmit more than 100 notifications per month, you'll have to shell out some ridiculous money.

To BigBison420 and ItzSnitz,
Couldn't you use tasker along with either open watch or notify my android since you can install apps on this watch? (Not quite sure how these apps work). Might be worth a shot to see if it is able to send notifications.

Im using 1.3.3.8 which is an over hauled update of the app... All prior versions are clearly not as good.
I downloaded digi clock widget, which has tons of built in theme and stretches out nicely (4X4 widget).
Also disabled action bar in adw, disable dock, and grid set to 4x4 for the homescreens. That's really the foundation of my cosmetic tweaks. Also i completely disabled lockscreen as described in OP so immediately the watch awakens to the clock on the homescreen

Hi guys,
Newbie here. I too bought the ZGPAX smart watch about 3 weeks ago, OEM version. I also purchased another model EC-309 from HOPU watches, which is based on similar hardware MTK6577, Android 4.0 and with the extra that it has 3G network, different hardware layout (camera on the side not front).
Purchased the ZGPAX for around 140$ odd plus shipping, EC-309 on the other hand was priced above $230. Full disclosure, I own a retail store selling OEM Android tablets in Indochina and would like to add smart watches into my product portfolio.
I would like to get some tips on how to extend the battery life seeing as some users managed to be able to get 1 to 1 1/2 days use on a single charge . Rooted the devices, lowered the CPU range. Tried basic user stuff like, screen timeout, brightness. Switched from 3G to GSM. Still cant get more than 6-8hr battery life. Have tried DX battery Saver Pro, this really extend the batt life but at the at the expense of shutting off wifi and 3G (not acceptable solution). Any other ideas?
For those who might be interested, here's a comparison of the two devices
1) ZGPAX touchscreen runs much hotter than the EC-309
2) ZGPAX has superior speakers, music sounds clearer and louder, no distortion at higher levels
3) ZGPAX has SD card slot, EC-309 only has internal 4GB
4) EC-309 slightly better finish, aluminium bezel, ZGPAX feels a little plasticky
5) Similar firmware for both models. Same issues, Google voice, Skype, Facebook crashes or does not work.
6) Similar battery life - 6 to 8 hr max
7) Similar battery monitoring issues - battery indicator not accurate
8) Both models have good wifi and 3G reception
9) EC-309 comes with Launcher 8 as a default..Win 8 style launcher, no custom launcher like ZGPAX.
10) EC-309 uses micro SIM , ZGPAX regular SIM size
Will share more on apps that work for me soon.

Really depends on how you use the device.... i could get 3 / 4 days out of it, simply using it as a watch to check the time. Streaming wi-fi and videos and downloading stuff is a whole different story. Have you tried changing the CPU Governor? I have not lowered the stock cpu settings... mine sits at 1001mhz max and 250 min. Deep sleeps about 90% of the time

Much thanks for the quick feedback BigBison! Frankly the watch gets fully used most days, I am actively chatting on WeChat, checking time, playing around with some basic voice recognition apps (utter, voice reading). Am trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the device. Will try to lower the CPU settings to half 667mhz and see if that helps. IO on deadline and Govenor OnDemand.
BTW, Any devs out there want to help with Custom ROMS? Am happy to donate towards the purchase of a smartwatch for the dev if it can help resolve the battery, Skype, Facebook and Voice search issues.
Also heard from my OEM supplier in China that a new version with Android 4.3 will be coming out early 1st Quarter 14. Will keep you guys informed.

wow that is very cool! keep us posted, we love updates! haha
Also if you find useful information or good apps for the watch let me know so i can update the OP in the meantime for other peeps.
Cheers!

There's also Augmented Smart Watch Pro (Play Store), however I suspect it's still the same issue that ZGPAX is a phone, not a watch. Might be worthwhile to reach out to those developers to check their pulse on this application.

I have had it with this phone...

Well I got the SGS3 a week ago and I have been messing with it, customizing it and trying to do everything that i know. I do like the phone but as far as it functions i am not crazy about it. I think I am returning it back!!!
1- can't get notifications on gmail (# of new emails that come in)
2- battery is worse than my old 3gs
3- most of my music can't play just skips (i have tried 4 different music apps)
4- issues with bluetooth dropping off.
Yea I came from Iphone and really wanted to keep this phone but i am literally at a point i am going to return it or sale it on ebay..

1a.) Is your auto sync on?
1b.) Is Sync Gmail checked in the accounts?
2.) That's to be expected if you are pushing your phone to the limit. Bluetooth+max brightness+frequent syncs+LTE = bad battery life.
3.) Is the CPU being limited and/or are the music files compressed or corrupted? That could be the problem.
4.) I don't use bluetooth so I don't have any suggestions there. Try a reboot or changing the bluetooth settings.

Sounds like you got a lemon. Mine has been flawless since I have had it. Haven't experienced any of those issues

Then why not just return it? You don't have to feel guilty or bad that just because its a very popular phone and many other people like it, that you don't either. Its your phone, you paid your money for it, you probably got locked into a contract for it. Why stick with something that makes you unhappy? I hope your next phone will give you better luck.
Go back to iPhone, your kind isn't welcome here.
Why not swap it for another what a turd gain some common sense.

2- i have it on power save, brightness is 1/2 bar only

4- tried rebooting already.
I'd try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, at least try exchanging it.

A little harsh but i agree with the core concept that the iOS is very differnet from the android platform and would seem very foreign however i do think it is a little funny that you waited to switch from the iPhone for an android phone with the familiar "Home" button

1. You want # of email badge on GMAIL icon? or you want # of GMAIL icon in the notification area? Both can be done ... for # of email badge look into using Nova Launcher. In the settings area you would see an option to enable it (cost some $$$ for the pro version for this setting). For # of GMAIL in notification bar ... only ROM I have seen do it is unofficial AOKP build for SGS3. you can try that as well. I am not sure about the stock samsung touch wiz launcher. I rooted and start flashing custom ROMs within a couple of hours of purchasing this phone
2. One thing you have to understand is that battery life is not a one size fit all for android. It heavily depends on your usage and what settings or background processes you have enabled. I know coming from iPhone you want to put all kind of widgets on the home screen and enable all functions like BT, Wifi and GPS etc like iPhone but Android is different. It allows you to have fine grain control over software as well as hardware settings. You should be getting decent battery life (i.e. moderate to heavy use should give you around 16 hrs with 2.5 hrs of screen on time) if not then try to remove some widgets etc. iPhone has built in power management for all these hardwares and you cannot mess with it. But in Android its open to you to change it to your preferences.
3. what kind of music files you have? mp3? FLAC? its possible that music files are corrupted when you try to copy over files from iPhone to SGS3. Take another look and verify that all files are intact and not corrupt. There is nothing wrong with the Sammy music player ... you can also try google play music app from Google Play. But this shouldn't be a problem of music player. Can you try to download another fresh music file from market or another store to see if that works?
4. Bluetooth shouldn't drop connection unless you move out of its range. In close proximity it should stay connected. If it doesn't then you have a defective phone. My first handset had some problems with Bluetooth because every time I tried playing music or pdocast over bluetooth it made cracking noise. I exchanged the handset and now there is no problem.
Hope this helps.

I'm quite impressed with the battery life on mine. One thing that may help is to use black or dark wallpapers because this type of screen uses less power for black.
But I would definitely take it back and try another one as it sounds like the particular one you got is defective.
Ive got one and i love it. Try returning it for another one or reflashing back to stock.

Going to have to agree with everyone else here. You either got a lemon or have issues with user error or maybe a little of both. I don't have any of those issues either and my gs3 runs circles around my wife's iphone 4s, battery life included.
She is actually taking over my old gs2 next week as that phone kicks hers in the seat too.

A little harsh but i agree with the core concept that the iOS is very differnet from the android platform and would seem very foreign however i do think it is a little funny that you waited to switch from the iPhone for an android phone with the familiar "Home" button

thanks zombie I will reset back to factory and try everything again. I was actually waiting for the iphone 5 but took too long and the reviews on the sgs3 were so good i had to try it for myself.

Thanks for taking the time to explain and not telling me iphone user's are not welcome like that other TOOL. anyway I did a factory reset and the music issue is resolved. i will look into nova rom or might as well wait till the jelly been is stable. I still have another 3 weeks or so left so lets see how things go.I think once i root and flash a rom or 2 battery should be better.

[App] Pedometer using hardware step sensor

Hello everyone, since I received my Nexus 5 I have been working on an app that uses the low powered step counter API new in KitKat.
How this is different from most other pedometer apps is that with the hardware step sensor, this app uses almost no additional battery so you can keep it running all day. In my testing I noticed no difference in battery life between a day with Pedometer running and a day without it.
From the Google Play description:
Features:
- Set your goal! It is recommended that you take 10000 steps a day. This app allows you to set a goal that's right for you, and displays your current progress.
- Track your progress! This app will keep track of how much and how far you walked, all day, every day. History is presented neatly, both in a list and a graph for easy viewing.
- Colorful themes: choose one of 5 themes that fill your display with color, or go with the standard holo light or dark. With 7 themes in total, there's one for everyone!
- Low powered: Unlike other pedometer apps, this one will not affect your battery life at all.
- Achievements and leaderboards: sign in with your Google+ account to unlock achievements and compete with your friends in leaderboards!
- Both single-day and multi-day achievements are available
- [Pro only] Walk info: see how far you've walked today. Calorie counter coming soon.

Often times I'm too lazy to carry my Fitbit with me, especially since having it sync to my phone drains battery. With my phone being the pedometer I feel that I've been motivated to be more active.
There is also a pro version you can buy if you'd like to support me. This pro version currently adds a distance counter, so you can see how far you've walked all day. I plan on adding more pro-only features in the future, such as a calorie counter and maybe a widget. But don't worry, the free version will still be perfectly capable of serving as your daily pedometer. If a feature is extremely popular within the pro version I'll consider adding it to the free version as well.
Downloads: Free version, Pro version ($2.99)
I have used only three permissions. One is start on boot. This is used to start counting as soon as you start the device. The other two are write (and therefore read) external storage. This is used solely for the purpose of exporting logs to assist with debugging if the need arises. Don't worry, your data is safe, and this app will not be sending away any of your information.
If you have any questions of suggestions feel free to contact me, I try to respond within the same day.

I'm working on a rather big update, includes more Fitbit-like features such as history and activities. The basic features is about done, gonna make it look nice now and test it some more. Might upload a beta apk and post the Google Play beta link here for anyone interested in testing. I'm hoping to officially release the update in a week or so, so stayed tuned!
Have you thought about partnering with a rewards company or something? Would be interesting if you could get coupons or discounts from achieving the 10,000 steps or so.
Love it!

Hi. I just got my Nexus 5 yesterday. Your app was one of the first I downloaded as I had an S4 and was looking for a low battery pedometer like the S-Health app. Yours looks great, and is pretty accurate (and NO battery drain!). One issue, I had to reboot the phone and when it started again it only showed about half of my steps??... I would love to beta test the app for you. Keep up the good work. (I also would love to have history and be able to see previous days step counts, etc.)
One of my biggest gripes is when driving, all pedometer apps keep counting. There is usually a pause feature or something similar, but it would be ideal if it could detect if you are driving or not. If this is not easily achievable, is there an intent or something else I can use with Tasker to control this app?
Thanks, and it looks really promising!

Touchless Control
Good App! thank you for building something like this. I love the statement:
Low powered: Unlike other pedometer apps, this one will not affect your battery life at all.
If its not too much, can you also look into building an app for the always listening/touchless control feature that uses the low powered core? We have another thread with a bounty on this feature.

Detecting if you are driving or not would require GPS or some form of location service, which negates the advantages of using a low powered sensor. In the current version (1.1.2) there is a pause button, but as I'm removing that in 1.2.0 for something else, you could use Tasker to force stop the app to stop counting, and use Tasker to launch the app/quickly go home to start the counting service again.

Sorry, but I don't know a thing about using hardware specific features. I'm actually quite new to programming, this project is the first big thing I made.

I don't think it kept counting when I was driving the other day. If it did it didn't count a lot.
Accuracy
Hey, has anybody made a accuracy test?
Thanks
Any plans to have this push results to something like FitBit or MyFitnessPal?
As for the driving thing, could you add an option for bluetooth device connected?
Example Interface:
Do not count steps if the following device is connected: (check boxes)
- Car Radio
- Headphones
- Phone Radio
- BlueTooth Headset
Do not count steps if plugged into a power source: (pull down)
USB
AC
Any
Disabled
In this way, you could set the device not to count steps if you are in your car (connected to your car radio via blutooth or maybe plugged into a power source).
I would think the power draw of these options would be in line with your design goal of keeping it to a minimum.
I have not used the app very long (pro version), does it keep track of history? An example would be a daily summary of steps/distance.
In this way, manually importing the information into other fitness trackers is easier.
Thank you for your consideration!

What you say about charging and Bluetooth connected should be simple enough to add, I'll see if I can add it. History is also coming in the next version, here's a sneak peek at what I have so far
Of course, your full history will also be viewable and can be exported as CSV, although that part isn't quite done yet.

Thanks for such a simple app. It worked fine for the first day. However, it's not working now. I have restarted phone, still same result. After first day in the night, i press pause button. Next day i pressed play, but it's not counting steps. Do you have any update coming out soon?
It works, and the UI is "clean" and easy, but the count is not perfetc... can't it be optimized?

It's difficult to differential a person physically shaking the phone versus actual walking. The fitbit series face the same problem as well

Try force stopping it, clearing data, rebooting, then launch it again and press start. It worked fine for me, not sure why that happened. But yes, I do have an update coming out soon, although I've been very busy lately and haven't had time to work on it.

Fixes to step count will be in next release, but not sure when that will be because as I said, very busy. Hopefully I can get it out before I leave for a band trip early February.

Do you mean it will also count shakes? That's normal, as how it counts by detecting the accelerate/decelerate patterns of walking. It just happens that you can replicate it by shaking. And that's not really a problem of the app specifically, I'm just catching events from when the sensor thinks it detects a step and then displaying that.
Couldnt make it work.. Will try again later tho..

Same issues with the app picking up steps while driving as others have experienced. 20mile drive this morning, over 3000 steps.
Perhaps a simple logic could be if phone is charging then stop counting.
Other than that app seems pretty good, simple.
does it count miles/km , calories burned etc?

Smartwatch K2 W100/Star Kingelon K2 Android 4.2 MTK6572 Builtin Camera, Gear Clone?

Detailed "Unboxing" and my first hands on (Samsung Galaxy Gear Watch clone/replica)
(You can find more reviews on my Youtube channel, I have also tested another smartwatch called PW305)
MEGA Review 30 minutes
Model name?
The Smartwatch K2 W100 has many names in the internet. It is also known as Ansmart Swatch Universal Smart Watch, Star Kingelon K2 or Star E2602. They may differ in little bit in the software. But the one I got has weather for the whole world, full keyboard and a lot of languages.
From where did you get your version of the watch?
If your interested in this watch, check the info in the video description (in the unboxing video in the top) on Youtube.
Before I can say if this watch is good or not, I have to test it some more. But the design and materials are very close to the real Samsung Galaxy Gear. My first impression of it was "wow" because it offers really many features and options. Like full Android 4.2.2 OS, built-in camera, radio, wifi, bt, ftp, music player etc. But of course the watch is just a nice toy.
Bluetooth Keyboard
I can pair my BT keyboard with the watch, and then I can use that to type. Works perfect! also I can with no problem disable the BT keyboard again if not needed in the settings of the watch. Just like on any other normal phone.
ROOT?
It can be rooted very easy and fast with http://www.shuame.com/en/root/ (Root Genius tool).
This should be pretty safe, and even after a factory reset of the watch, it will still be rooted. But still you do this by your own risk!
Play Store?
The watch doesnt come with the Play store, but I managed to install the Play store myself on the watch and it works 100% without errors. But it requires ROOT. Also I have installed Aptoide (alternative app store). I have tried Google Music app, Temple Run 1, Antutu and Flappy Bird, all these works great. I even got Youtube and Facebook to work!
Steps how to install the Play Store
(Batterylife without any Gapps installed is really good, but as soon you install Gapps it will reduce batterylife dramatic.)
1. Root the watch using http://www.shuame.com/en/root/
2. Download the GoogleInstallerR.apk here http://www.mediafire.com/download/9lunc7lw7c34ca0/GoogleInstallerR.apk
3. Download also this one http://www.mediafire.com/download/m00z1385acthrdm/Gapps-s7yler.rar
4. Copy "GoogleInstallerR.apk" to the watch, install it on the watch, after that you need to run the app from the app drawer on the watch called "GoogleInstaller" and check or install all the Gapps. You can also install the Play Store with that one, maps, gmail, etc.
5. If the Play Store can be startet and works for you then your good! If not or if the Play Store crashes or gives error then, unpack the Gapps-s7yler.rar (from step 3) and install first the "Google Account Manager APK" file on the watch after that also install the "GooglePlay.Installer(ALL-Colors).apk" on the watch, when that one is installed you need to run "Installer cracked Google Play" from the app drawer, inside the app choose "Modded Google Play Original Style", and then press the button "Install and Reboot".
6. After a fresh reboot, try the Play Store (maybe you need to sign in) again and it should work without errors or problems!
Firmware/ROM
http://www.needrom.com/mobile/kingelon-swatch-k2/
Specifications:
- MTK6572, Cortex A7 dual core, 1.2GHz
- GPU: Mali-400
- ROM 4GB / RAM 512B (about 1.1Gb internal memory usable)
- Full colour touch screen 320 x 240 pixels
- Wallpapers can be changed
- Volume & ringtone control
- Pedometer
- Phonebook
- LED notifications
- Real Android OS 4.2.2
- Weather for the whole world
- Customizable clocks
- Customizable UI / color or simple
- Gesture shortcuts
- Built-in Camera (5 mp) / video & pics
- Bluetooth FTP transfer
- With speaker & mic
- Music player (local and remote)
- It has Developer's options and USB Debugging
- Antilost & find my device
- Works only together with an Android smartphone (has no simcard built-in).
- The original Gear only works for Samsung phones, this one works for almost all Android phones!
Some few cons:
I would wish that the screen on the K2 was a little bit bigger, the PW305 has a bigger screen but overall the same size
The viewing angle on the screen from the sides, or in horizontal mode is not that good, straight front it is good
The lens on the camera is just put on with some tape, you may glue it on better
Speaker quality is not the greatest, but it is okay
While you have a conversation, and you need to use the dialer, it can lag a little bit
The "hang on" button after a conversation can also sometimes lag a little bit
Not all Play Store games or app will work, some work other don't
The "gesture auto screen on" does not always work for me
The bluetooth range could be a lot better, seems only to be 4-5 meters max
Batterylife without any Gapps installed is really good, but as soon you install Gapps it will reduce batterylife dramatic.
Antutu score
7400 pretty nice for a watch
Antutu tells me that it has these sensors
Temperature Sensor
Pressure Sensor
Ambient Temperature Sensor
E-Compas
Acceleration Sensor
Direction Sensor
Relative Humidity Sensor

I saw your excellent instructions but can any one post the watch apks for the most common apps like:
1. Gmail
2. Facebook
3. Twitter
4. Instagram
Etcetera... I'd rather just manually push the apks to the watch and install them one-by-one. If there is a repository of watch apps somewhere please do let me know. BTW, I started in Android with the first Android phone (T-Mobile G1) and have rooted and worked on a dozen or more phones since then so I'm not a noobie to this, just getting lazy in my old age!
So far I have this watch, another Gear clone thats just a Bluetooth watch and both the Sony SW1 and SW2. I just ordered another from Electrofame.com so I'm pretty hooked on these little devices!
Thanks!!!!

Ok thnx I will take a look, btw. how is your batterylife? Seems mine is rather poor but only when connected via BT and WiFi. Thinking, if there is a way we can extend the batterylife a bit?
EDIT: nevermind, I found out it must be because of the Gapps I have installed. Without all the Gapps and Gps/Location on (I am now only logged into the Play Store) I suddenly get super battery life again.
Now after 10 hours! I am still on 70% battery with both WiFi and BT on.

if your on the older rom clear the app data and cache, i had to do this constantly. if your on the new rom delete swatch manager and send the one on your watch to your phone.

[RTOS]Aiwatch C5 Sports Watch(rel. March 2016)

Just tested the Aiwatch c5 sports smart watch.
Looks and feels very nicely build with cnc-ed Aluminium alloy case.
Round face with a 1.22" 240*240(?) res looks good on the screen which has a good dpi. Much better then others I have tested.
Beyond the basic functions
Calc, calendar, phone(+bt), sms(+bt), contacts(+bt)
Bt notifications, bt camera, record, search phone, Siri,
Timer(split), alarm(multi), picture viewer, filebrowser(*)
Flashlight function, airplane mode, short cuts, bt music,
Options,
it has a gyro, baro, temp, alti, heartrate, step and uv sensor.
Magic voices, ringtones..
There has also the option to send files or pictures to other devices
using bluetooth. Receiving is not possible.
So far all seem to work fine. Shake to wake, to answer, to mute, to swich menu.
Three menu themes and three ways to navigate it(shake, swipe, big nob)
Place for a sim(gsm only) and Bluetooth 4.0 functions.
It comes with a "magnetic charger" cradle but no stand also in alu-alloy which also acts as OTG and comm.
Though this isn’t a android device and has no external memory. Only 1 Mb user space is availible. This might be a minus if you want to use it beyond it's intended use...
It does have a picture viewer. Pictures at 240p are about 25kb and still look good on the watch's screen. So you can put a lot of those baby pictures on it..
Clockfaces are part of the firmware. They are nicely made but may not be your tast. So, the ability to install upto 4 extra faces has been added to make the total 10.
I installed three other faces through bt notifier without a problem. I'm not sure really how that works. But over usb is and other option(Dont install faces over usb!). Animated clockfaces do also work.( vxp clockfaces can be installed using an xml file over BT, same goes for vxp apps but these need special additions to be installed over BT
For a feature watch this one has a lot op options. Installing applications is one of them. (ea. yahoo weather etc...)
It supports mtk .vxp or mre apps. Tested a text reader and opera. The later usses to much ram to work on the watch. But suffice to say that with only 1mb of space you can't install a lot. let alone browsing the internet which this watch isn't intended for.
A new optimised firware could free up some space and offer maybe proprietary apps.
Unlike the U11 this watch uses its gyroscope correctly. Works everytime to wake the watch. But obviously at times when the watch is at deep sleep it takes a second more to wake. To save extra battery, disabled the wake function.
Code:
Tip;
at night shut the watch down. The alarm will still work
All in all
This is an solid feature sports watch that doesnt look geeky.
Tech menu theme is clear and simple. Navigating menu's is fast.
The big knob is very handy to switch faces easy and has a Shortcut function
by pressing it. Very handy. Really makes it feel like a normal watch though the firmware may be tweaked to make it work in other apps aswell.
I would be nice to use the knob for like setting the alarm, split timer etc..
Battery life
Is poor as with most if not all smart watches. Using the watch just for the the clock function will extend battery time greatly. Several days at least. You can disable just about everything to squeeze that last second of battery time but thats not why you buy this, right? But hey, look at the price.
At release I paid 50€ for it and they are already going for 70€ and up, which isnt a great lot but I do find it way to high for a China feature watch. Its to close to Android watch prices even if it has gsm support, its still just a sports feature watch.
The design is great and consistent throughout the body. Firmware has been tweaked but the consistency has been lost there. There is room for improvement though its not a deal breaker at all. Its a sports watch but not water proof nor resistant. Though I have been using this watch for months whilst running an sweating like an ox, yet the watch still works fine. But I dont suggest taking in out into the rain. I suspect it will die if you do.
Really hope they will upp the hardware in future builds and stay in the price range. All day battery with gsm or bt on is definitly a must.
I think there on the right track design wise. I'm keeping my eyes on this company.
Already ordered a second one. (And also have an U11 with 320p)
Additionally
After eight months off use the watch still offer great value.
One thing tough is that sweat will react with the back of the casing. My watch shows small pits in the alloy.
It's not a big deal but this should not happen.
The touchscreen is still scratch free and the band still in top condition. There is a small stain on the side aluminium which will not go away. Hardly visible though.
A lot more faces are availible now but no firmware update. But thats probably to soon. Still like this watch a lot.
Cons
Personaly I find the cradle a little cumbersome they made a nice unit but would rather prefere an integrated power unit. Its very fiddly and you still need an stand to put it on if you dont want to scrach your watch. Stands are no bankbreakers but taking that and the watch over the weekend is annoying. May just need a minor redesign.
Some functions you just dont use, some of these functions would better be removable to free some space.
The knob is great but firmware integration could be better. Also more short cut options.
Keyboard is not optimised and very, very fidelity.
Just remotely controle music and volume(with knob) without routing the audio to the watch. I know it can because some times it just does that.
Bluetooth recieve option!
Set a picture as clock face option!
Remove the startup sound, additionaly better sound engenering all together to match the feel of the watch.
Better battery!
All in all the firmware is ok but improvement is very obvious.
Still like this watch a lot!

Hi ebsbow, thanks a lot for the infos,
I also have this watch from few days, and I'm happy of it till now!
I would like to know where can I find info to install vxp apps,
I've tryed to copy it in MRE dir of the watch and then? You we talking about vxp can be installed using an xml file over BT,
can you give some more infos or link?
Thanks a lot in advance
Mauro
Installing is actually very simple it seems.
Just use the filemanager on the watch and brows
to the place where you put the vxp and select it.
Needs to be said that the watch doesn't have
much ram so only a few small apps will install.
I just wanted to install a new clockface and thats
not a problem. Finding some is a problem
About the xml. That needs to be in the appmanager
folder on your phone. I'll upload an example.
Though, the correct info to swapp eludes me.
Thanks a lot ebsbow!!!
I installed Opera even if it doesn't works for insufficent memory like you. Also gmaps and parkour don't work. I'll try more apps
Bye
Mauro
Your welcome
I also have animated white and black digital clock if your interrested.
Installation:
Just put the extracted vxp with the xml in the appmanager folder.
Then install it through the bt notifier app. It should be in the list of apps in the bt app.
Warning: don't install directly on your phone using usb! Use the bt app.
Bt app installs it to the system. Installing it to the small userspace will freak the device out.

few days of use
Hi I got this watch for about 3 days. I like it very much, not a bomb, but enough for me.
I use it bluetooth with an Iphone 6s (no sim card inserted in the watch slot). I got all me sms and notifications from the phone to the watch. Also able to sync phone book from phone. No email sync. On the Iphone apps fundo (update yesterday) I'm now able to sync data of the watch to the Iphone fundo apps (health data). With Siri, I'm able to send sms and email from the watch ) to the phone. I also ask Siri for weather... she answer on the watch speaker. Bt music work well too. I can listen music of the phone with the watch speaker.
The only .vxp apps working that I've found is this one : Asteroids Multi-Screen.vxp
I have plug the watch usb on pc computer, as mass storage, I have placed file in MRE folder in the watch. Then, I've unplug watch from pc. Navigate in "file manager" on the watch apps to the MRE folder and click on the .vxp file. The watch ask to install... done.
I was not able to change any clock face, should I have to use an android phone? If you have hint for me.
Also, is there a way to use a nano sim card as a mass storage card (to boost storage for apps) ?
Thanks
Patrick
To install clockfaces you need the instruction from the previous post. You do need and android phone, I guess, to copy the files to the appmanager folder.
Not sure if this is possible using standard iphone. Meaning no jailbroken iphone. Unless you can get to the folder an other way.
I found an doc reader( only works with txt because if space restrains. Doc files are to big) And a small test app that works.
And the weather app offcource.
But honestly, if I wanted more to tweak I would have bought an Android watch. Which I will do later as an addition to my collection ?.
Animated clockfaces work without a problem. But finding
some is amazingly difficult. So fare only found 4. ( wich I will post later)
Sadly, I'm not aware of an sim to sd convertion. More space for fictures and music would have been great. But the battery just isn't up to snuff to enjoy it long.
Edit;
Btw, please share your working vxp's. I'll putt the together in one post later( with name)
Someone knows how can i calibrate barometer?
Hi, fallen in love too for this Smartwatch
Hello!
Few hours ago, I've just bought it;
I love everything, except the watchfaces...where I can got new ones?
And where did you get apps too?
I Thank you very much for you fast and accurate response...
...that I'll be wait for!
That is the question. It's nearly impossible to find any
My guess is you will need to download the sdk from mtk
and build some your self. Or hack the one I posted some
posts back.
Also don't bother to much with apps. There is only 1mb
of userspace.
@alfa587: Don't know. Did you try a reset?

If paired, how notifications happen in watch ? Whatsapp and Social Network apps (Facebook, Twitter, ...) appears fine ?
I had a Moto 360 and purchased a Lemfo Lem5 last week.

Actually there many threads about the LEM5 on XDA.
My suggestion to find a lot of useful info about it, some of them not even supposed here on XDA, is to look at this G+ community and this dedicated forum:

The only uou do is to ban members if post links like you do now
And accuse people that envolve with watch companys and support these companys with launchers and apk
I believe developers should envolve with companys is the natural way
But accuse all the other as something bad is ipocritic

i am using it Bluetooth, and in my opinion the battery is not that big to handle the 3G network for complete day without charge.
pairing works fine, but notifications are one-way only. you read the notification on the watch but can't reply. Actually the way notifications are pushed is like the lock screen, i.e. for whatsapp if it's the one notification you can read the message otherwise it'll just say two new messages.
for me the biggest disappointment was not able to sync the fitness data to cell phone. Do you know any apps which can do that?

2 - way Notification App for Lemfo Lem5? SwappLINK?
Hi all
I was wondering if there is an alternative to the Lemfo notification app that you can recommend? One that supports sending message replies, using the watch speaker and mic to make and answer phonecalls via bluetooth from the phone and choosing which phone apps can send notifications. Swapplink used to do all of that but is no longer on google playstore. I am sure I can download the APK but it looks like it hasnt been updated since 2014. Any suggestions? I can only seem to find BTNotifier or Android Wear apps...
My number is through Google Voice, so I text and call using Hangouts. Is Hangouts usable on the LEM5 and does it fill the display, or am I going to have a tiny little square I have to deal with?
I have mine since 15 days ago, well my opinion is the following, before this use a pebble time, I would not catalog the LEM5 as a smartwatch, it is more a smartphone that is worn on the wrist, smartwatch applications do not They work correctly, but the smartphone if they work correctly, you can have whatsapp independent of the phone and because it has a simcard slot, and so for all applications in the store, whether games or others, the negative point is that Are not optimized for round screen, and in some cases can not be used, virtual keyboards do not show all keys, fleksy and minuum (the complete) work well, touchpal is the best.
*The notifications of the phone to the clock, in case of whatsapp only show the text of the message, and not who sends it. The battery does not last more than 20 hours using it in airplane mode, under normal use 15 hours maximum.
To summarize, is a small smartphone that receives notifications from another smarphone, its worth the price and the screen is beautiful and there are many themes to download and it is fun to use, and try to run applications in round screen when they are designed for rectangles

That you choose the one that suits you in the configuration of the equipment, the round only cuts the image but does not optimize it

What you have done here is collected just about all the copyright protected faces and launchers ever made and distributed them without permission.
You do not own any of them. You did not make any of them and you have been reported - not just to the XDA admin team but to outside agencies as well.
What did you think you were doing ? It's a blatant act of piracy .......
Hi all i am not able to connect lemfo lem5 smart watch with android phone (HTC desire 10).I tried many BT notification app but not able to pair .
Can any buddy tell me which app needs to be installed.
You need a LEMFO App in your phone:
Just open LEMFO watch App in your watch, down to the "Download Mobile app" with the QR image, capture the QR image with a QR App in your phone. You will be redirected for downloading and installing the app
Very detailed review
Hello all,
I have a Lemfo lem 5 for about one month now and i think i can do a detailed review of it, maybe will be useful for some people.
On the first day i became very disappointed with the battery, even without turn the wifi of 3g , the clock worked for about 4 or 6
hours, but after some time i've done a factory reset and discovered that some apps that i've installed , consumes battery even with the wifi
turned on, like skype for example, and other apps that give symlinks on the launcher for fast productivity. The best i could do, was using
apps tested for using on it. So now i can have one or two battery charges on a day. The charge otherwise is very fast, in one hour it is
fully charged. I've liked a lot of the tip for the touchpal keyboard that i 've read on the forum, so i 've entered here to add my
experience and ask other questions too.
I've installed the sim card on it, the quality of the call is good, the microphone is very good but the sound of the speaker is a
little ugly. The contacts for the call, the volume button and the keyboard on the call, i've liked. The SMS app is beautiful and work well.
The 3g works well (I had to add the APN from my pstn country) but drain a lot of battery, so i turn on the 3g, do what i have to do, and turn
it off (And turn battery economy on again).
It has some apps that came with it like a file manager (Simple but works), video player (Plays the normal mobile codec videos, fits
well but do not play external .srt subtitles) and the Music player (Simple but works well, even in background).
Using it paired with the phone was not a good experience, it is better standalone, more like a mobile phone watch.
Android apps that i am using:
Mobizen Mirroring - Can control the watch on the windows desktop screen, it worked very good, you can see the watch screen and control it.
Youtube : The clock give you 2 options to handle android third apps, you can use it in square screen (Becomes small to see, but you
have the full view and full control of the app) or you can use it like a Rounded view (That is the default, the problem is that you can lose
some parts of the view). The problem with this app is that on full screen, the video play on the wrong side of the screen.
Netflix: using the square view , it is usable, but like the youtube, it plays on the wrong side of the view. If you take the watch off
of the pulse, the video becomes good to see (But obviously very small).
Touchpal: Tip from someone on this forum, the keyboard becomes much larger so you can type better on the small screen, until now i
couldn't see any unnecessary battery drain.
Whatstablet: That app is like a whatsapp web, because i want to see the whatszap on the watch only once in a while, i didn't want to
have the original whatsapp installed on it because of the battery drain, so i've installed my original whatsapp on a old mobile (With a
battery problem) so it stays at home in the internet all the time, and i use this whatstablet app on the watch, that is like a whatsappweb
for mobile that could fit on the watch (Very small but usable), using the square view only. This app i am using just for the moment, i am
trying to find something that fits better using the Rounded view.
Games i've installed that was very good : Make 7 and Sonic Dash. It is playable. Not every android game works on this watch, a lot
of then, are opened on the wrong side of the screen, or do not open at all.
Issue after updating firmware Lemfo LES1
I just finished updating the firmware of my Lemfo LES1 (051517) and everythings seemed to have worked out OK.
I can see the new firmware version in About Watch. I can also see the new "clockskin" folder added when checking under File Manager, but when I connect the watch via USB to my laptop, I can't see that folder; all the other folders listed in File Manager, are visible in the indows File Explorer. Any idea as of why this is happening and how to fix?

This is a known issue, wrong folder permissions.
You should copy the files in a different folder, then move them with the file manager on the watch
