[Q] Battery gauge behaving erraticly - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to root my galaxy tab 4 10.1 (sm-t53onu) using odin3 when i accidentally disconected the cable. It was doing something with recovery.img when it happened. Now the tablet works srill but if i need to charge it and i turn it on and off it will go from 15% to 95% and drain very quickly. It charges normaly if i leave it off but if i turn it on while it charges it does this and i need to drain it again for it to carge normaly even turned off. How do i fix it?

I love the "accident" part.
Find your stock firmware and flash it

[Q] Charging issue

Mine seems to only want to charge to 66%. Suggestions?
maybe try powering the tab down and see if it will get the rest of the way there?
Hadto cycle between on and off charging.

Were you using the outlet that came with the tablet or a different plug?
I noticed that when I used a samsung plug from my nexus S it would charge to 66% but using the plug in the box would charge to 100%.

Battery only charging to 75%...How do you clear/reset battery history?

Hi,
I'm not sure if this has to do with a battery calibration issue, but my Nexus 4 has been charging only up to 75%.
Also, every time I plug in my charger, the battery history used to reset to 0 min. Now, the battery history has been on for 3 days without resetting. I'm guessing this is because the charge doesn't go all the way up to 100%. How do I fix this? I am on stock 4.2.2 and using the stock charger. Should I try using my Nexus 7 charger?
Thanks,
Nexusowner
Use different charger! Stock charger sucks! I had the same problem...

Let it drain all the way, until it shuts itself off. Plug it in and do not turn it on, let it charge all the way. The screen will display charging progress. If the screen is blank press and quickly release the power button to see the status.

Used my MyTouch 4G slide charger and it charged to 100% with the battery history reset. I must have a defective charger. Hopefully, Google will send me a charger and I won't have to RMA my whole phone...

Strange problem with nexus 4

My friend recently bought an imported nexus 4 from eBay(on my advice). He's having a strange a problem. The device works normally till the battery drains below 50%. But then it suddenly turns off and doesn't turn back on again. When he connects the charger, it's stats charging from 0% again. The charging process is also normal.
Anyone had this type of problem?

Whats the rom and kernel?

Try charging it to 100%, disconnect charger, reboot and check if it already lost some charge during reboot. If yes charge full again.
I had something similar (not a total drop, but a fast drop when below 50%) a few days ago and this helped. I don't know why, though.

I think you should try both suggestions.
Also inform us what is the ROM and Kernel he is using.

N910C: Powers On only when charger connected

My phone doesn't power on unless I connect it to a charger. As soon as I unplug the charger it shuts down. Without a charger it gets stuck in boot loop. The phone had no issues for a year. It suddenly started acting funny this morning.
Are you running a custom ROM on your device?
No. I have stock rom. I just factory reset my phone in recovery mode.

Have you replaced the battery yet?

Repacing the battery solved my issue. But I fail to understand what caused my battery to go bad? I have never left it plugged in for more than the required time as it already has a fast charger.

They go bad over time. Most li ion are only good for 600-1000 charges and then they start to fail. Some fail catastrophically. I leave mine plugged in overnight every night, use fast charge, wireless charge with an adapter, leave it in the hot sun and in the freezing cold - basically really hard on them. I just plan to replace them on a 6 month or so cycle. That's why I don't like non replaceable batteries. Had that on my nexus 5 and it died a slow death.

Note 4 910f fast battery drain on 6.0.1

So far my battery on my SGN 910F was good. I'm on official 6.0.1 version and phone wasn't rooted. Suddenly few days ago even when my phone was on a wall charger, battery discharge faster than charge when screen is on - battery percentage dropping when screen is on, no metter that phone is plugged int wall charger. Any suggestions?
Thx!

Could be a software glitch. Try performing a hard factory reset on your device.
Thanks for the tip, but I did factory reset just ten days ago. Everything was fine for a while and after 5-6 days I noticed that battery darining is faster than charging with screen on. I'm always using original wall charger. I try to disable fast charge and re-enable but still nothing...
