Just a simple THANKS

Just a simple thank you to all the deveolpers, themes, hackers, and everyone else that makes our Nexus One community alive and thriving!
It's because of all of you guys hard work and dedication that I've fallen back in love with my N 1.
You guys keep coming up with amazing tweaks for our devices.

Agreed. Good thread. I'd buy you all a drink if ya weren't all over the place.
To add to that, thanx for getting me interested in coding again. I work on computers all day coming up with solutions for my company and it has caused me to lose interest over time in hacking/modding/coding stuff. This forum is getting me interested in it all again.
XDA and the Nexus gang ROCK!
Same here! Thanks a lot to all XDA members
I agree. Thank you. I have learned so much here.

A Special thanks to all the Devs out there. . .

I just wanted to send a simple, humble thanks to all the Devs out there who spend countless (and manytimes thanksless) hours updating the Android OS's.
Without them most of us (if not all) would be stuck using the providers locked down and bloated OS -
thank you for all of your hard work
thank you for answering our many times ignorant questions
Thank you again -

I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks yall!
Yes thank you guys. A new hobbie I've picked up that my wife hates....sweet life.

Indeed. I chose android solely because of the development community. I didn't just blindly grab any phone I could, I did a little research and knew it had to be android and it had to be HTC. And thanks to the support and quality that devs put into these devices I will be a dedicated HTC/android customer for as long as both exist.
A big thank you to everyone who puts in work, especially the cyanogenmod team.

I agree, the devs, all of them! Have made owning an htc aria a very nice experience, I have been taught so much about linux, it's insane, droid platform coding too! This is the greatest phone/community combo! Thanks to all, regular members too!

BIG DITTO to this, exactly the reasons I came over to Android and in particular HTC.
I was completely unprepared for how much work has been put in by the devs and community - Bravo everyone and in particular the hard work of the modders!
To be honest... I bought this phone back in October bc it was NOT an iPhone which was very important to me. I didn't even know what android was. Now I'm addicted and my girlfriend hates my phone . Thank you so much devs for giving me a hobby. Idk that I can really be thankful enough for what y'all have done for me. My whole life really. I was just kind of wandering aimlessly before but not anymore!
Go!

Donating my HTC HD2 to a Developer

Topic says it all. I've gotten my beloved galaxy note 2. I'll be donating my HD2 to a developer. Just drop a line in my in box if ur interested.
NOTE: I'm not paying for shipping and I will do a full wipe before I release it.
I'm not a dev but I want to give back because you devs helped me so much.
Thx.
If I posted this in the wrong area, please let me know.

Please donate the HD2 to Xylograph, he is one of our best developers and had touch screen problems with his HD2.
Should I post a link of this thread in one of the dev threads of him?

Being named on the XDA Portal is a good indicator that an individual should be the developer that you donate your HD2 to. "Thanks to XDA Senior Members Xylograph and securecrt, and XDA Recognized Developer Rick_1995, it is now possible to run Ice Cream Sandwich with full hardware acceleration on the HD2." http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hardware-acceleration-support-for-hd2-ics-roms/
Xylograph has made on average 1.5 post per day since he became a member in 2009 and has almost 7,500 Thanks on nearly 2,000 posts - a ratio of 4 Thanks per post. He posted his first ROM only at the end of last year (porting from Desire to HD2 to make a "rom as small as possible"). He has started 16 threads. It was his Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) that took the HD2 community by storm with over 1 million views.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
He continues to make innovative contributions with ParanoidAndroid for the HD2 with nearly 500,000 views.

http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...exus-sgs2-international-note-hd2-and-nexus-s/
The innovation continued with Native SD earning him another well deserved entry in the portal: HTC HD2 Android ROMs Reinvented: Introducing NativeSD
The cherry on the cake has been his PACman All in 1 HD2 ROM combining PA, AOKP and CM10 features.

Hi folks,
Since I got a couple of private messages about my absence lately..
I just wanted to let you all know that I am fine, still alive and still have my HD2 though it's acting up more and more lately..
It seems the famous 'non responding touchscreen' issue is slowly coming my way..

If anyone would kindly cover shipment shipment fees & a location to ship to, I'm willing to donate to this dev.
I'd also like to make him aware of this. If anyone could help me pass the information to him that would be great. A confirmation in my inbox should do fine or a post on this thread.
Also, I do plan on giving my Galax Note 2 a good thorough review. I'm still debating on rooting it.

Thanks. See my PM. Donation made, location advised and Xylograph accepted with thanks but

That said I hope such an offer won't raise the 'user-expectations' very high, since I won't be getting much more time for android development in the near future, but I'll try to keep us having new stuff every once in awhile..
Anyway, it would be great to get a well working HD2 because mine is getting more and more unresponsive

Atrix 4G kernel appreciation thread

I felt I needed to put up this thread due to the confusion of what can and cannot be posted in the other kernel threads. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the devs involved and the kernel testers. I am finally making use of the kernel thanks to epinters 10.1 ROM. Woah what a difference its like a new phone and still only alpha!!!! So to all the devs and the testers you are achieving things that I have seen go stagnant or fail on other projects for other platforms so many many many times. I hope this thread will help you all feel valued. This has to be one of the more hardcore coding projects and you are achieving milestones and a great rate. So if everyone would like to give thanks to those involved please use this thread so the devs will get the pats on the backs they deserve.
If a mod could add a complete list of the devs that would be great or if Kristian or epinter can send me a complete list I'll add it to the post, complete with their roles would be nice.
So once again your achievements truly are great may your success continue

I'll try not to be pessimistic on an optimistic thread, nor sarcastic at all. But another good way to show some love for the devs is donating

Oh make no mistakes I'll will be making a donation, had I been working I would have already. I just think its important for the devs to read words of thanks, encouragement and praise for their efforts. I've posted in other threads before showing my admiration for what the devs have achieved only to have it deleted and my post I believed help give some idea to other users how difficult a task had been taken on. So please people if you feel the devs should receive a pat on the back then please post in this thread

i've been using the new kernel for a while now and i definitely notice a difference. thanks again for the work, glad there are people still dedicated to this phone.
Its really an amazing experience to become a witness of the rebirth of an official abandoned device. Thanks a lot.

I too greatly appreciate the effort of these devs. I'm running the CM10.1 build by epinter and company, and it's really incredible.
I just wish I had the rights to post my bugs/tweaks/comments directly in the dev forum...
OK been on epinters 10.1 7-12-13 version for about 24 hrs. All I can say is the development has been fantastic and this version is very stable for me. Just keeps getting better and better. Fantastic results guys please keep up the amazing work

Shout out time.

I want to give a shout out to all our great devs in our beloved forum. Thank you for everything you guys do for our little community. We know you guys work hard at your roms, tweaks etc, and it shows. Without you we wouldn't have such fantastic stuff to put on our phones. Thanks again.

Well... Considering that this is an unnecessary thread in the wrong section... It seems that you are in the wrong.
The gesture is appreciated, but it is not necessary to make a thread about it. Just hit the thanks button, donate, PM, etc.
Making a thread in the wrong section and it being unnecessary is clutter.
I am not trying to be a ****, it's just how stuff works here at XDA. Please refrain from posting completely unnecessary threads, especially in the wrong sections.

Appreciate them with some donations.
My bad. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. That's cool though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
OK, shout out given. Let's close this one down before it goes south.
The easiest way to give a Dev a shout out for their efforts is the Thanks button and/or considering a donation.
If you want to do more than that, many of the projects can use bug reports and feedback as well (in the appropriate ROM thread.)
Thanks!
