App Bar Widget - Zooper Widget Templates

Okay, my first post and widget
I made it trying to mainly suit my needs and preferences, but I'm open to suggestions specially since the widget still has space and I ran out of creativity to fill it.
It has the apps I commonly use separated into entertainment on the top layer and work and useful on the bottom. With a few tweaks here and there you can make it by our own and put your own apps there.
I made it cause I don't actually like the categories of the themer app but still wanted my apps close and accessible on the main screen.
There's also a battery sign that shows when the battery is low and you should turn Energy Saving on and that reminds you to turn it off when you plug it to the charger.
Please do point anything I could do to improve it.

Auto Rotation- Blurry Screen

Few questions which I couldn't find using the search option
1-When I turn the phone to landscape and vice versa, the screen blurs just before auto rotating, is this a feature?
2-How can I see the battery percentage e.g 90% on top bar rather then that tiny battery icon?
Thanks a bunch!
hi
first thing, auto rotation,it is an animation,so everything is ok.

I know it's an animation, but the texts and the whole screen blurs out for a second before auto rotating. Can you check it on your phone?
Yes, my second option was downloading battery app, but seems like Android settings only show tiny battery icon.
Thanks for the reply, appreciate it

Yes, it's supposed to blur out before rotating. And the HTC Desire isn't like that.
Download BatteryTime Lite and configure the widget to notification bar. Then you'll have it.
Thanks for speedy replies. You guys rock! is their any option or code to check call life timer? every phone has it
not that I know of buddy
Call life timer? Is that another power option? If so then battery time lite will tell you that amongst other bits of other information.
Listed as:
Idle Time
Talk Time
Video Playback
Audio Playback

How is that done? The only option I can see in the settings is to pick your phone model....I'm new to android so I might be overlooking something obvious
Download it from the market mate, then long-press on a blank area of the homescreen > widgets > Batterytime Lite
Connect to the internet using WiFi or 3G. There's a gray bar with a small white triangle pointing upwards at the bottom of your screen, drag it up and you'll see a list of applications (apps for short). Now look for an app called "Market", tap that.
When it opens up, you'll see things to download, initially categorised by Paid Apps (which you have to pay of course) and Free Apps. If you look at the top-right corner of the screen, you should see a magnifying glass, tap that. Here you can search for BatteryTime Lite. You can just search for "Battery" and it'll give you loads more options.
Tap the ones you are interested in, you'll then see a button to install or buy at the bottom. Try the free ones first. To uninstall I usually go back to Market, select the "Downloads" button (same row as "Paid Apps" and "Free Apps" button when you have just loaded up Market), then tap your installed App, and you'll have the Uninstall button.
This is just one of the simpler way to uninstall, there are other ways though.
Hope that helps.
Tons of apps you can try for free, have fun.
Cheers - i'm fine with downloading, uninstalling & putting widgets on the home screen but is there a way of placing battery time lite onto the actual notification bar?
Not sure about BatteryTime Lite, but Battery Status has the option to place a battery indicator icon on the Notification Bar.
I've been thinking about this... and having had my handset for 2 weeks now.. and having had the same problems with the battery not last a full working day (if I leave for work at 6am and don't get back till 6..) I, like probably many of us.. became quite obsessed with it.. and wanted to know how many percent the battery had dropped during each half hour... we don't need to know this... we really don't.. all we really care about is.. will my phone still have juice in it when I get home at the end of the day.. and if you want to monitor the phones usage, install juice plotter.. then review it's data at the end of the day.. try it when your spending the day at home and don't need to worry about it running out.. I did that today..
Let the battery run flat over night and charged it this morning..
full charge at 1130 this morning.
9.5 hours later... 76% remaining... after some moderate use throughout the day..
I will become less obsessed when I don't have an issue any more.!!
ditto the recommendation for Battery Status Pro - it's free and works like a charm

Tasker Profile Suggestions

If you're into a "hubs" style look for your tab, using Tasker with Minimalistic Text provides an easy way for links to navigate the various screens set up.
I'm no tasker wizz, but I find it useful to have the screen remain on when AC power is connected. I take my tab to work and this lets me to see incoming messages, change songs, etc., while I use my PC.

I'm curious about these hubs. I've seen the minimalistic text, but I hadn't really had time to solidify a use for it.
Hubs are great until you realize how much extra resources these additional widgets take up to suppor them. Depending on number of home screens and images used multipicture livewallpaper can take up a bunch of memory. Minimalistic text takes some too. It can all add up culminating in pauses and stutters jumping from app to app or screen to screen as the OS tries to shift resources around. With some work though things can be optimized to minimize impact.

Check out this link for more details on hubs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232357
There are some great ideas, examples, and instructions in there.
I suppose if someone goes overboard with widgets on homescreens it could impact battery life, whether using hubs or not. I haven't noticed any difference, personally.
i got really annoyed with minimalist text because you could only make icons that are really small
so what ive done is just find my wallpaper images and on photoshop overlay the hubs then use multipic to make a differenT wallpaper for each homescreen then make transparent icons that swich between homescreens and put them ontop of the writing i have overlayed in photoshop kinda confusing but it works !
look at any of my themes and all of them in the screenshots have my homescreen with this setup
I set my tasker to change my wifi settings to off when screen is off and always on when I am listening to pandora or streaming radio so that I can save some power by not having to have the screen on all of the time while streaming, but that is all.

Annoyances/Bugs in Samsung Jelly Bean (DLH7) update

To be honest, I really love this update. So many new things! Made me feel like I have bought a new phone all over again. But there are a few issues..
1- Grey statusbar. Why Samsung changed it from black? God knows why
2- Background in the toggles panel in "Notification pull-down", [not the color of toggles itself]. It feels so out of place. The color doesn't match Touchwiz color scheme.
3. WiFi has very slow speed, and can't maintain connection. <<< this is the killer bug for me!
4. Browser will force close (FC) when users try to go to bookmark selection.
5. Help app is very weird. The "step-by-step" guide (e.g for WiFi) is pointing to the wrong location. This is maybe caused by the major changes that Samsung has done to the Settings app. If this bug is still present in final release, then many people will complaint, especially the non-technical one. Samsung made that "easy home screen mode" for a reason, to help those new smartphone users. That "Help" app was supposed to go hand-in-hand with the new Home screen mode.
6. Phone will vibrate even though there is nothing happening, no notification whatsoever.
-Possible causes are WiFi error, and apps FC.
7. New widgets (the white one) are great, only that it doesn't match the color scheme of the old widgets.
-Most of old widgets are in black, e.g Music player, FM radio, Mono Audio, Negative colours. The new widgets, e.g Dialer, Favorite apps, Favorite contacts, Favorite settings, Messaging and Simple alarm clock widgets are all in white. Only two of the new widgets retain the black color scheme of the old widgets, which are the "turn off all sounds" and the "smart switch" widgets.
8. AC charging is very slow, did not test USB charging but some users said it's slow too.
9. Battery draining.
-This might be caused by mediascanner that's constantly running in background, and scanning without stopping.
-Other possible cause is the random vibration bug (point #6) which makes the phone awake so often.
10. Touchwiz is very unstable.
-Sometimes, folder will not close and stays on every homescreen I go (sorta like Pop Up Play).
-Seldomly, app shortcut (or icon or whatever you want to call it) will be replaced with an invisible icon that takes up space. Touchwiz will FC if I try to put an app shortcut to that empty space.
I might add more when I found it, I'm using Omega v16.1. Hopefully this post will help someone, especially those who want to upgrade but can't make up their mind whether they should or not, and not to forget Samsung development team (damn you cunning bastards, LOL!) :silly:

Didn't anyone told you it is not an official/final "update"? it's a leaked firmware and not really an update. and why create another thread when there are several threads out there discussing LH7? these listed bugs are known.

Relax, man. I labeled this thread with very specific title, to discuss bugs in Samsung DLH7 update. The fact that I mentioned "bugs" means I know the rom is still not an official rom, that is leaked to public. You gained nothing by being a prick in the online world.

I know about both fixes because I have been reading posts in Omega thread discussing the latest custom rom (Omega v16). I just want to make a thread with all bugs I found (that shouldn't need fixing in the first place), so that it will give others (that is still on ICS rom but wants to try JB rom) some kinda warning, before flashing.

Also got no keyboard bug and about extended power menu, wanam lite has it
Also maybe point to the already present solutions to the browser and WiFi bug and show the positive aspects as well, like the smoothness etc.

Since its a beta, bugs are expected. However, I feel that LH4 and LH6 were much better than LH7. LH7 is bit slower and ram leaks. Also I don't like that why voice commands are merged into s-voice again.
Not got an opinion on leaked test roms that are not the final build .

i think the random vibrations seem to be events like wifi connecting and disconnecting. it took me a while to figure that out.
also seems to be a bug with the gmail notifications. when you collapse the notification it shows the text as partially is cut off instead. not quite sure how to explain it. but it was working properly in LH6.
they are either changing a lot of things and testing, or they keep doing things which ends up breaking something else.

Day Night theme

Hi Guys,
I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but I'm going to post this anyways. It's my personal zooper skin that I have been using for some time now, personally I really like it. It has been build up from the ground by me personally, although I have used some pictures and icons from the net. I would love to credit those, but I have no idea who they are.
It's a day and night theme, meaning that the blue screens are used during the day and it automatically switches to the black themes at sundown. The media controls are divided for Kodi, using Yatse as remote and tasker to send the commands. Attached you can find the tasker tasks aswell. The bottom part is for chromecast using media utilities.
For a missed call, a icon will appear on the main homescreen, aswell as a notification in the bottom bar on all screens. Also for messages.
Since I use gestures to control my phone, I do not use any navigation keys, nor any folders.
The calendar is based till the end of 2016.
All screens except the last screen are 100% zooper.
Since this is the first time ever posting anything here (or anywhere I think) please let me know if I can improve upon something in the post or in the skin.
Hope somebody will enjoy it
Cheers.
Impressive work! Will give this a try sometime.
How to use??please

Hi, first of all congratulation for this fantastic work.

Alternative to Missing Note 7 Features

Like many of you I'm a long time Samsung user. Now that I've picked up the v20, there are a few features that the note 7 had that I miss. I'm hoping that someone can recommend alternative apps that can fill in the gaps.
Here are the features that I've noticed so far that are missing from the v20:
* Battery draining app notification
If an app drains too much energy you get a notification telling you the app name and how much power the app has used in the last couple of hours. Clicking on the notification lets you disable the offending app.
* scrolling screen shots
On the note when you take a screen shot you can scroll down to capture anything off screen. This is great for capturing an entire web page (for example).

For the battery one, i have the best of the best suggestion. Download, Accubattery, it wont throw you a notification saying exactly which app, however it does have a notification that shows you specific amount of mah and drainage,. when you open the app you will see a whole new world of battery management, specific app drains and more.
As for the screenshot while scrolling..... well, i only know about apps that combine screenshots on its own when it detects that there is something similar in one photo that you recently screenshotted and thus, combines it witht the other making it a larger image

This isn't one of the specific features you requested alternatives for, but I'm now using Side App Bar+ (free) from the Play Store to sub for the Edge App Favorites bar. SAB+ actually works better for the most part. I have the pull out area set to the top left corner, and never have any issues with me accidentally pulling the bar out.
I'm also noticing that for whatever reason, the Smart Stay feature is missing on the ATT version of the V20 (not sure if it is on other versions too, but I started a thread in Q&A about it). I'm currently experimenting with two apps as replacements: SmartStay EX (NOT the Lite version!)(free) and SmartStay+. I currently don't know which is better, but I can report back after some time if you want.
These apps are used to keep the screen on when looking at it, but let the screen turn off when they hit the Display Timeout if you aren't.
So far, these are the only two Note7 Withdrawal apps I'm using. I'm using other really useful apps though, like Forcedoze (makes the Doze features in Android even stricter and help increase battery life).
Oh yeah. The scrolling screenshot was an amazing and useful feature I'm going to miss.
