Google plus badge - Moto X General

Does anyone know how to get your Google plus circle badge either in your notification bar or just on home screen?

Making a 1x1 zooper widget with the image is probably the easiest way. It would only work for your home screen. If you were really ambitious, you could build a notification bar with Zooper and incorporate the image there.

Can't figure out for the life of me how to crop a picture I have into a circle (just the circle)

What badge are you talking about? Do you have any pics?

The profile pic in Google plus. I'm just trying to figure out how to crop a picture into a circle and only the circle

I am going to assume you saw this from the lock screen on a device with Android L Developer Preview. On those devices the lock screen displays your Google+ avatar image in the top right hand corner of your notification bar on the lock screen.

Yes but I want to just make a widget with my Google plus circle profile pic. But I can't figure out how to crop a pic into a circle. Sounds stupid cause it seems so simple

I would think that would be rather easy with a graphics application on a computer. Technically just for that MS Paint should be more than enough.

disabling email/sms/missed-calls notification on menu bar

hi,
does anybody know how to completely disable the notification for emails, sms and missed calls?
to be clearer: i do not mean the notification bubbles which can be disabled through settings. i mean the notification icons which appear on the menu bar.
any ideas? thanks

Do you mean the HTC Home icons?
i think what he means is the icons that shows up on the top bar along with the start icon, beside the connectivity icon..
here's a snap of it..

Ah yes, you are right!
I think that's the system feature and cannot be disabled.
if you have a look on some today screen replacements (e.g. todaylife) they can suppress the notification icon
mmh todaylife is a net application that sits over the todayscreen, so the notification are still there.
... but they are hidden, i guess? because the author has also rewritten/reskinned the complete top bar. so i can't imagine that the author would allow that notification-icons would popup as they wish.
ya I wish there was a way to get rid of those also
I would imagine (not knowing the particulars), that you would need to hook into the notification message loop and disable from there.
this might be a workaround:
replace those notification icons with pure black icons.
i am not skilled enough to do that, as i think it is the same hazzle like you have when replacing the start-icon on the top bar...

But what about theme usage? On for example blue theme this would be a black square there
sure. that's why it is a workaround and might not be applicable to all users
but at least for black theme users like myself
theres a way....programs like photocontactpro and smsfilter have the option to stop text messages from showing up. don task me how....but they do the magic some how

Faint horizontal white bars on black wallpaper.

Just got the S7 edge yesterday, everything is going fine except one thing.
I set a black wallpaper to take advantage of this beautiful AMOLED screen.
But when I set it, I get very faint white horizontal bars on top of the screen. It's not that my screen is broken, it's completely black when I see that image in the gallery, but when I set it as a wallpaper, I get the faint white bars. I tried it on the stock launcher as well as Nova & Apex. It's persistent in all the launchers.
I thought it might be because of the "shadow effect" many browsers have, but I turned the shadow off & yet it was there.
Anyone else have this issue? How do I fix it?
Thank you.
Edit:
I'm including 2 screenshots of the home screen. One of them is edited to make the bars more prominent.

It's normal and part of the stock framework and would need editing to remove. Doesn't bother me.
You could use a launcher like Nova and work on the transparency of the notification bar, or use a gesture to hide it entirely. I believe it's done so that you can see the notification bar in a black on black situation.

Won't make a difference, it's not part of the status bar.
I had same issue I tried the material black theme and gone now. Nice theme too

Huh... Weird. That's a bummer. Anyway, hopefully I'll get used to it & not notice it as much.
Thanks.

I downloaded the trial for that theme. Agreed it's a beautiful theme, but it doesn't solve the problem for me.
Yeah, I noticed that too as I actually have the same exact wallpaper haha.

Found a temporary fix.
Setting the wallpaper using KLWP.
It falls under the "live wallpapers", even if you just set a static wallpaper & the white bars don't show up on a live wallpaper.

Change stock icons?

How do you change the stock icons? Can you get them from m the play store or do they have to be from the LG theme app?

Just use a launcher like Nova or Apex. Then apply whatever icons you want.
Actually came in here to answer my own question just in case someone was wondering. You can't change them unless you use the Home/app drawer option. Long press the icon will give you the little purple paint brush.
Well, after trying that, it seems no matter what I do, I can't rid of the black background the system places on the icons.
Also, try the themes in the smart world. A lot of themes have different icons

You can get rid of the black backgrounds. From a cnet article (Four settings to change on the LG G6): To switch back to normal icons, head to Settings and open the Display tab. Then select Home Screen, followed by Icon Shape and then tap Original.

Lock screen clock, not AOD clock change

Can we get a horizontal clock? I can only seem to adjust the AOD clock.
I applied a theme and it was horizontal for a while... a few hours later I look and its back to the vertical one. Anyone else notice this?
Hours and minutes are aligned vertically, if there are notifications.
It seem to be horizontal if you have any notifications. Once those are cleared, it goes back to vertical.
Here is a easy Solution
smarturl.it/samsung-s8-clock-chg
Takes less than 2 minutes costs nothing, does not revert back after notification or anything like that.
Horizontal clock is an option under AOD display settings. Look for clock style

Go to Settings...Lock screen and security...Information and FaceWidgets...Contact and Information. You can type in something here and it will show up underneath a horizontal clock. If you don't want anything to show up but still want the horizontal clock, just put in one space and no other text.
I've made a theme with horizontal clock on lock screen. This theme used stock icons and a colour is a little bit changed. Change wallpaper and change icons and thats all. But you can create this by yourself by samsung mobile theme editor wish i have later version. So in order to make horizontal clock in this editor you need to use not colour selection on tab lockscreen but images. And upload image of every digit 012345678: and thats all.

This is really the best proposal. I came here to get rid of this ugly clock on lock screen of my S8+. Thank you so much. No theme, nothing. :good:
Edit: does not work. The horizontal clock just showed up because there was a notification.
No dice on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for AT&T
Had a horizontal clock working for months using themes, but since the samsung update about a week ago it broke, there really should be a simple was to do this anyway, we shouldn't be looking for work arounds

whatsapp notification dot !!!

hey guys how sre you?
plz i need your help
always i get notification on whatsapp ,i have dot on the icon ,but the dot is green same color as the icon ,so i cant see it loll
any solution?
Other launcher, or try an icon pack with a different icon shape to make it easier to see.
Other launchers have the option to display the badge with a custom colour or even can display the number of notifications.
Alternatively, if you don't want to switch to a different launcher, you can go into the app drawer (where you see all your apps) long click on WhatsApp and select Edit. You can assign a different icon to it so it'll be easier to see the notification badge.
