hi,
does anybody know how to completely disable the notification for emails, sms and missed calls?
to be clearer: i do not mean the notification bubbles which can be disabled through settings. i mean the notification icons which appear on the menu bar.
any ideas? thanks

Do you mean the HTC Home icons?
i think what he means is the icons that shows up on the top bar along with the start icon, beside the connectivity icon..
here's a snap of it..

Ah yes, you are right!
I think that's the system feature and cannot be disabled.
if you have a look on some today screen replacements (e.g. todaylife) they can suppress the notification icon
mmh todaylife is a net application that sits over the todayscreen, so the notification are still there.
... but they are hidden, i guess? because the author has also rewritten/reskinned the complete top bar. so i can't imagine that the author would allow that notification-icons would popup as they wish.
ya I wish there was a way to get rid of those also
I would imagine (not knowing the particulars), that you would need to hook into the notification message loop and disable from there.
this might be a workaround:
replace those notification icons with pure black icons.
i am not skilled enough to do that, as i think it is the same hazzle like you have when replacing the start-icon on the top bar...

But what about theme usage? On for example blue theme this would be a black square there
sure. that's why it is a workaround and might not be applicable to all users
but at least for black theme users like myself
theres a way....programs like photocontactpro and smsfilter have the option to stop text messages from showing up. don task me how....but they do the magic some how
try wisbar advance 3 (wa3)

Not sure if this is what it's called but Im needing to change the color of the bar that comes up below the top task bar after you press the little call out icon for when you have a voice message and reminder, etc. Anyone know what that second bar is called? I'm trying to use UI Tweaker to change the color and can't find the name of it.
Anyone please?
it is called "notification multi icon highlight" dont know if ui tweaker uses the same name though

Ok, thanks. I'll try to work with this. My problem is that I installed a theme which is perfect but when I have voicemail, reminders, etc. and click the notification icon...the bar that comes up has a white background with white text. So all I see is a white bar. Going to try to change this to a black background of course so I can see the notifications.
If I don't find it in the utility, does anyone have a link to a reference that points out the registry values to change for this?

why dont you modify the theme,http://www.codeppc.com/telechargements/themegence/themegence.htm, use this great free software
well, i am working now on a theme (L'amour) like nokia one, and i have an issue with icons overlaping each other, the Hero Icon appears in tray and covers the main tray icon... please advice
Since your slider is transparent, the main icon will always show through. I think the only way to fix it would be to install an opaque slider or make your hero icon so that it completely obscures the tray icon.
use NisseDILLIGAF 3 icon menu..
basically it will make the Current tab icon at the bottom invisible, so you will only see the unselected tab icon..it works great

Hi
Is it possible? I receive a lot of mails and I find that icon useless when TF3D enabled..
When you have other notifications icons (RSS alert or bluetooth or..) at the same time, it shows that "bubble" icon instead, on which you need to tap to see what it means
get all the taskbar icons you need from this thread.

And what does that thread have to do with his request ?!
There's no way that I know of to disable those notifications, short of maybe installing a transparent icon so you just don't see it.
Does anybody know if you can disable email/text notifications on the manila slider? I'm using Cookie's notification bar and would rather the notifications were not duplicated.
Screen shot attached to clarify what I mean - I want notification A to be removed, as it is duplicated in notification B.
Cheers
not really because they would be labled the other way round, the notification bar is extra, you can turn that off through CHT,

I also find it to be a bit of a pain but as a work around just move the sms tab all the way to the end (sense you can click on the notification icon and be taken right to it) Thats about the best advise I can give.

hey guys how sre you?
plz i need your help
always i get notification on whatsapp ,i have dot on the icon ,but the dot is green same color as the icon ,so i cant see it loll
any solution?
Other launcher, or try an icon pack with a different icon shape to make it easier to see.
Other launchers have the option to display the badge with a custom colour or even can display the number of notifications.
Alternatively, if you don't want to switch to a different launcher, you can go into the app drawer (where you see all your apps) long click on WhatsApp and select Edit. You can assign a different icon to it so it'll be easier to see the notification badge.
