FAQ
What is Google Apps Minimal Edition and what makes it different from other GApps packages?
Google Apps Minimal Edition for Android 4.4.x is a modified, slimmed down version of the Google Apps package. This includes the Google Play Store, Google Play Services, Google Contact & Calendar Sync, along with the necessary libs, frameworks, and priv-apps.

Device owners won't have to deal with a ton of pre-packaged apps they may not use (ex. Google Play Movies & TV). Instead, this GApps package has been modded for those who are running Android 4.4.3 and want just the bare basics (Play Store with sync. and libs). Also great for owners who have older/legacy devices with small system partitions. In addition, for those who are running CM11, I've taken out some system bloat during the install process. Read OP for details.

is there a way i can get amail.apk or exhange.apk for my secondary email? great work btw!

*Fix - If you are running a CM nightly with the following commit merged - http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/66894/, you're fine
*Alternative Fix - If you are on a CM ROM with a build date before 06/30/2014, disable the following system entries from within Google Play Services:
SystemUpdateService$Receiver
SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
SystemUpdateService$SecretCodeReceiver
Use the following app to disable the entries mentioned above.
Thanks to Noed for the alternative fix!

How would I go about adding the voice dialer back? Its kind of a massive must have for anyone using cm11 since LTE and data drops are a constant bug. I have no way of saying "open APN" without it which is the fix to that problem.

Thanks these gapps are awesome.
Tested on cwm 6.0.5.0
edit 1
The alternative fix don't works for me,i have try all the system entries but nothing for now.

This may be related, I just found out that removing Google Search from GApps also seems to remove Google voice typing from Keyboard & Input Methods, so the keyboard doesn't have the voice input option anymore. Possibly that also affects voice dialing? I've reinstalled Google search through the Play store now and was able to get speech input back that way.

[GAPPS][GUIDE][TOOL] PROJECT SLIM-8mb GApps & AUTO SLIM-FACTORY (free 134mb /system)
Project Slim is closed, thanks.
Post #2 = slim rom guide
What is Project Slim?
Many older devices (eg. HTC Desire) have limited NAND storage. This leaves very little space for user apps. This project is intended for such phones and aims to overcome that limitation by freeing as much space from the /system partition as possible - allowing for hboot partitions to be flashed with less space allocated to /system and more to /data. This allows for more apps to be installed with app-to-sd scripts - or even negates the need for such scripts in some cases.
How does it work?
Simply flash the 8mb gapps provided below instead of your normal gapps after a ROM install
If more space is required, see post #2. This guide will walk you though how to easily reduce the size of your ROM on your Windows PC manually before moving to sdcard for flashing. An automated script that does all the work for you can also be found in post #2.
Will it work for my ROM?
The Gapps have been tested on HTC Desire, Galaxy S2, Nexus One - They should work for all devices.
Regarding ROM slimming, the principles the guide is based on remain the same no matter the device, but i can't guarantee the automated script will work on all roms.
I Need more Google apps!
This is the slimmest gapps you'll find. Download Calendar, Hangouts, Maps, etc. from play store.
Requirements?
All files necessary are provided.
Windows PC - if ROM slimming
SLIM GAPPS:
APKs: Basically just the play store, and the necessities. Note, i've removed 'Google Now' coz u can download that from play store, and "Google Ears" coz that's useless. Also, useless libs for face unlock, google ears, etc removed... Play store also updated to latest version.
Full List:
ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter
GoogleBackupTransport
GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter
GoogleLoginService
GoogleServicesFramework
NetworkLocation
Phonesky
SetupWizard
Zip size is 8.3mb. Takes up approx. 10mb in system. Normal (trimmed) gapps is 63mb. So that's an extra 53mb free!

Total Freed: 82mb
Last Step: Repacking before flashing
1) Check file size before zipping
2) Re-zip with 7zip, view the zip to make sure its all ok (ie you don't have something like /CM10.1.zip/CM10.1/)
3) Sign your updated re-zipped ROM with sign-em application. Place ROM in "input", run exe, signed ROM found in "output"
[TIPS]
If you get stuck, always good to have a saved PC copy of the apks saved on your phone beforehand.
Use: "adb pull /data/app C:\Users\<wherever-you-want>" (without quotes)
That way if you have no file explorer, you can use like "adb install <filemanagername>.apk" (must place in adb folder of course)
Its also faster to restore your phone, just use: "adb push C:\Users\<wherever-you-want> /data/app"
Then restore app-data ONLY from TitaniumBackup -much faster and less issues
[MODS - FOR HTC DESIRE (BRAVO)]:
-Wifi tethering with password fix - Extract files "hostapd" and "hostapd_cli", copy extracted files, mount system R/W, paste in /system/bin replacing the original files, set permissions (rwxr-xr-x), reboot
-Keyboard BL disable: Extract 65DisableKeyBacklight file, place into system/etc/init.d folder, set permissions same as other files in this folder (---rwxr-x), reboot
--a2sd: open terminal, type "su", type "a2sd install", respond with yny and it'll reboot automatically

You'd need to slim the rom first. I've currenty 14mb free space, so it could probably even fit in a 200mb system hboot. See post 2 soon.
Just been using latest nightly and must say you are right.. Buttery.. Except for camera, that's slower with other/fewer glitches.. Overall nice..

Lol same, and games are for nexus 7 so well worth it
Nice! 16 mb. And to think that the original gapps are 95mb in size. What a waste.
So what's up with the latest Nightly...? Does it support DSP Manager being used for better sound quality??? Ya know, CM ROMs run DSP like a boss. Evervolv ROMs don't....... They are smooth and all, but no DSP Manager means that I'm not installing them.........
Just bought a galaxy s2 for my mum.
she'll have a better phone than me but I'm more excited to see where devs take this classic phone
So.. i assume 14 downloads and no complaints means v2 works fine ?
Anyone tried it?

Moonshined Camera Calendar and Gmail Apks

These are all I have for now. As we all should be aware, Google will be updating their icons for certain apks.
I took the apks (the latest updates) and added the moonshine icons for these 3 apks.
I will do the rest if someone can link the Google play music apk and the Google Photos apk
how to:
check the shared folder, download the apks
place all of them in system/apps
go into data/apps and delete the gmail and calendar apks
reboot
See attachment for screenshot

[GUIDE]Download apk from google play without Device ID

There are 2 methods for (download apk from google play to computer)
1 - Online Apk Downloader
Check out Here
Do you know about Online APK Downloader?with online apk downloader you can download every free apps on google play store on your coputer.
For all of us using an Android device , we already know that the Google play store limits the download of android apps and games only via an android phone or other android devices . Even if Android supports sideloading of apps and games , Google has always restricted the direct downloads of apps from the play store as apk files .
Google is doing the best to protect our android devices and the reason behind android apps not being available to download as apk files , is to prevent the spreading of virus and malwares by sideloading of apps from the outside of the play store .
Although downloading apps on an android phone is very easy , but if your data connection is slow , you won`t be left with any option apart from waiting for the crawling downloads to complete until you can use your favorite apps or games . Fortunately there is a workaround which will allow you to download Android apps and games as apk files from the Google play store .
android apps are packaged as APK files. You can use any File Manager app to copy these files from the computer to your Android device and then touch the .apk file to install, or sideload, the corresponding app on your device.

Hi, @Sangeet007 Intriguing thread you have here!
I'm interested in this primarily so that my phone does not automatically update so many default Samsung S4 system apps, and other user apps on my 'almost' new phone's recovery nandroid backup image. This restores my phone almost to it's original state, particularly where it is not associated with my existing Google account. My goal in using your guide, is to pick and choose among my Playstore apps, along with my purchased apps, without my phone having an associated account that updates so may apps on my phone. As regards the PlayStore, it looks like the respective user's device ID and email may be quarantined within your
Device_ID 1.1_[www.apkleecher.com].apk, without actually associating the phone to an existing Google account. Does it work this way?
Holding off on this until I get more XDA member's opinions. Plus I'm unsure whether it is safe to input my email into the your .apk's prompt.
This also seems similar to http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ mentioned in @Tsjoklat 's Thread

Got a bit of reassurance from fellow XDA members. I successfully used this app to download .apk's (in numerical format without the .apk file extension) from the Google Play Store to my PC. I then renamed each download to it's respective name, i.e. 262 > ES File Explorer File Manager.apk, transferred the .apk file to my SD, then installed it. :good:
I found it appropriate that this application absolutely does not allow downloads of any "paid for" apps which I have previously purchased. :good:
Thanks Sangeet007
Google Chrome has disabled .apk download functoonality
Google Chrome web browser (Version 36.0.1985.125 m) has disabled the 2.1.2.crx .apk download extension, and it no longer functions. It cannot be re-enabled in Tools>Extensions. Uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome web browser, and then following the OP again, lets me drag, drop, and install 2.1.2.crx as an extension, but now this APK Downloader 2.1.2 extension is immediately grayed out upon installation. The enable box is there, but cannot be enabled.
This worked yesterday upon first installation. When working, it only downloads free applications. I successfully downloaded a few free app (installable.apk's) which I use. When reverting back to stock or a different ROM, I find having these installable .apk's much more convenient to use than going to the Google Play Store and searching then downloading each and every app.
My advice to anyone who initially finds this Chrome extension working, is to download as many free apps you feel you may possibly want. You will probably end up with a larger installable library of free appw than the one I have. Following is a listi of my app library:

Google was free and open as a start up, welcoming any and all developers. The future of Google looks increasingly controlled and locked down.

This specific experience of mine with the APK Downloader 2.1.2 extension is a prime example. Google explains and excuses the foregoing automatic Chrome web browser actions as protecting me the end user. Total bunk!! And it is not piracy downloading free apps.:good:
It works again
As I said in previous post.

Otherwise there is a workaround. I went through my registry deleting selected "google update" entries, and "chrome entries", after installing Chrome. Then reinstalled Chrome browser. and now can download again as per OP.:good:
Chrome extension is working

[Q] gapps-config.txt Help

I'm probably not posting this in the correct forum, but my device isn't on this forum so I figured this is the next best spot for general help.
So I read in the TK Gapps thread a way to disclude certain things from installing/overwriting stock apps. One major one I do NOT want installed is Google Now Launcher. Among a few other things... However, I cannot quite figure out how to create this file, keep it from overwriting/flat out deleting some of the stock apps, and where exactly I should put the gapps-config file when flashing. If someone has done the custom install, if you can post your script and inform me of where it goes (I'm assuming you just flash the zip as you normally do with the config file in the same folder as the zip), I can easily figure it out. Just not sure where to start.
I found this but I'm having a hard time understanding if it's saying to just type Include at the top of the config file, and then only those apps will be installed WITHOUT removing things such as the stock Launcher. Or, if I have to add a separate section to keep it from deleting some of the stock options. Essentially, I want the Full edition installed, replacing things such as the default keyboard. But I don't want it to install things such as Google Now Launcher, Camera, or some of the Play (Movies, Games, etc) things, but I don't want it to delete the stock camera or stock Launcher... Things like that.
Assistance would be highly appreciated.
I've now posted this question on 5 forums looking for an answer... Sure, the majority of you that read this probably think I am some pathetic idiot loser that needs to get a clue. All I'm asking for is some clarification on how to write the config file and how it's handled by the flashing process so I can make sure I am doing it correctly. For the love of all that is good in this world, will someone, somewhere, PLEASE provide some assistance?!
This is what I'm wanting....
What I WANT installed:
Google System Base
Off-line Speech Files
Google Exchange Services
Chrome Browser
Google Clock
Cloud Print
FaceUnlock
Gmail
Google+
Google Calendar
Google Calendar Sync
Google Keep
Google Keyboard
Google News & Weather
Google Play Music
Google Play services
Google Play Store
Google App (Search)
Google Text-to-Speech
Google Wallet
Maps
Messenger
Sound Search for Google Play
Street View on Google Maps
TalkBack
YouTube
What I DO NOT want installed, but DO NOT want the Stock/AOSP versions removed:
Google Camera
Google Now Launcher
Photos
What I DO NOT want installed:
Google Docs
Google Drive
Google Earth
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Newsstand
Google Sheets
Google Slides
Hangouts
Now... How would I structure the config file to do this?
Why did you even make a thread to begin with?
This doesn't belong here, it belongs at the bottom of a Q&A after being answered many many times.
Put the entries for:
Google Docs
Google Drive
Google Earth
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Newsstand
Google Sheets
Google Slides
Hangouts
in your gapps-config.
That's it, it won't install them.
where the **** is Gapps Config.
Thats what i cant figure out.
Carefully read the opengapps wiki under https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Advanced-Features-and-Options
All your questions like where to put the gapps-config.txt file and much more are answered there.
How can i use the gapps-config file ?
i just heard about it but i can't find how to use it anywhere
Are you kidding??? I just posted the wiki link above your post!!!

I read the instructions. But I don't seem to find the gapps_config.txt file.
I downloaded gapps for nougat stock. Please help
is there any other ways to find it
**The gapps-config file must be placed in one of the following folders:
the folder containing the Open GApps installer (takes precedence)
Now I'm going to read
/sdcard/Open-GApps
/persist
/tmp/install
Going out on a limb here but I understand the above to say you have to create gapps-config file and put it in one of the above folders.
I'm a newb but recognize file structure, so I went into the terminal type #slocate gapps-config - search returned nothing. So I have to create directory /Open-GApps-folder and put gapps-config in it, within the /sdcard/ parent directory.
Basically I create the dir /Open-GApps/gapps-config in the /sdcard/ folder. Hope above provides some orientation.
I'm going to the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60944096&postcount=4
you create a text file called "gapps-config.txt" and you put it in your external memory, sdcard, whatever... it can be in lots of folders... in that file you configure your install.
I am trying to install Pico GApps. My gapps-config here shown does not work... insufficient space...
[my gapps-config-grouper.txt]
# try it this way
Include
Core
# stock removals -- these would work
LUpdater
LSetupWizard
LRecorder
Email
ExchangeStock
