Ya im coming from a Galaxy S3 so ANYTHING will be a huge/ better upgrade. Im pretty indifferent about having no SD card or removable battery but the fact that the G3 has both of those is still a plus (more options are better than less). The only thing like you said we need to see is how good battery life is! Hopefully somehow they pull some kind of magic to make it last as long or better than the G2!

I have used many phones including s3; s4; note 2; lg 2 ; xperia z/z1 and moto G...lg g 2 and moto gave me best screen on time and batter life comapre to others..
Lg g2 was perfect but out of 16gb .only 10/11 gb was available for users so if you download games then it could fill up easily but now sd card option is perfect..you will find a massive improvement if you upgrade to g3 from s3..and price of lg g3 will be less comapre to S5/note 3/z1/m8 which is another plus

Att user with sgs4 have a couple of questions..

So I saw some youtube vids of this phone and it looks smooth with its on screen nav buttons, and heard rumors of it being like next nexus. The only other lg phone I had was the nexus 4, battery horrible. So how do you think battery life will be on this device? How about camera in low light? I really like the tap to wake up device, but is it accurate? It didnt seem to work with initial tries. How about led? Are they color customizable with an app like lightflow? I understand root is available but what's lg's rep with unlocked bootloaders or finding exploits in these lg development forums as well as development on these devices? Of course if anyone has tried the sgs4 and can compare it as far as my questions go. Or should I just wait for the moto x dev edition? Or even the next nexus? I'm not too crazy about the moto x and the next nexus if prices are as reasonable as previous versions I'd get regardless later on.
One more thing that kind of impressed me with this device is that it seems to be real customizable just stock.
I have the AT&T LG G2 as well as Xperia Z Ultra and I can say the G2 feels every bit as fast. Which is to say it's easily the fastest feeling device, tabs included that I've ever used. Camera would be above adequate for 98% of the population. Battery life has been great so far. As far as bootloader is concerned, I'm not sure if LG is sending phones bootloader unlocked from the factory anymore, I had the LG Spectrum which was but I dunno about the G2. Rooting and such has never been hard, it's been building a steady development community for otherwise great hardware. To me, this is the best feeling phone in hand that I've used, and I've used just about everything. There are many points of customization on this device both functional and aesthetic. Screen is very impressive as well. Colors are clear and pop without the exaggerated or over saturated look typical of AMOLED displays.
Hope that helps.

I'm sure that it'll support external SD cards, but it comes with 32GB internal with about 24GB available after the preinstalled OS and Apps.
Edit - I was slow on the draw. No external SD support? That surprises me.

Just to clarify - AT&T version does not have support SD cards.
No removable battery as well? That must be the international version I guess?
How are you guys liking this lg g2?
I'm thinking of picking one up later but off contract.

Att version has no sd or removable battery. I'm very happy with the much. Best android I've used to date. Xperia Z Ultra is my favorite overall but that phablet would be simply too big for most. So the G2 takes it for me all things considered.

Yes if you like big screen, NO if you think the Note 3 too big.
With me, i think the G2 is best, Note 3 too big to me.
One thing I don't miss from the S4 is the hardware buttons. On screen buttons are a nice touch. Also even though it is plastic, this phone feels much more high quality.

LG G2 opinions?

It's time for me to get a new phone and the G2 has drawn my attention. After reading a lot of reviews, there is almost universal praise for its performance and design that I am severely tempted.
I have 2 questions:
1) Any differences between the AT&T and VZW G2? I know the Verizon one has a thicker profile, smaller steel buttons and a wireless charging coil but i'm not sure what else as I haven't used either. Anyone tried both?
2) Is this worth getting or should I save ~$130 and stick with the Optimus G instead. AT&T currently has the OG and the G Pro both at $440, while the G2 is at $575.
3) How do the volume buttons feel? I always had a feeling that if the G2 isn't for me because I tend to press quite hard and since it's on the back, I'm worried about breaking the phone or at least parts of it. Anyone?
Thanks.
1) Yes, one is AT&T, the other is VZW. Otherwise, the things you listed are also correct.
2) Amazing phone, no question. As of right now, this IS the phone to get.
3) The first thing I thought when I saw the G2 would have it's buttons in a different spot was "wtf, thats stupid" But it has turned out to be something that I actually like about the phone, and am almost to the point where I don't know if I honestly want another phone with them on the sides.
Gets crazy hot, screen changes brightness randomly (not auto), onscreen buttons suck, text looks like its floating compared to amoled, greasy back.
Formfactor is perfect, text clarity is amazing, extremely fast, great camera, strong wifi and lte performance, great touch sensor.
Tough call.

really amazing device but i am so doubt that lg will give android or software updates to lg g2..
Way better than the G2 PRO. Battery is insane, way better screen and camera. Back does get greasy because I don't do cases. Feels better in hand. Love the on screen buttons.

Best phone I've ever used. I've bought EVERY flagship the last 3 year's. First phone I ever bought was LG g2x, and that phone was garbage so I was a little biased against LG. Now with this phone I actually paid for insurance because I'm gonna keep it for a long time.

Because 4.2.2 lg custom made is new, only G2 have it. need time to port to the other.
Even G2 still not avail in my country.
The scenario will be same like OG, after OG get 4.1.2 update, in coupled month other phone will get update too. (L5 L7 L9 4X )

Because they will add stuff from G2 into 4.2.2, there is a leaked G Pro rom which has stuff from G2, once they fixed most stuff on 4.2.2 on G2 they will most likely update G and G Pro.

The Note 2 is also only 4.1.2.
For me, this phone is nearly perfect. It's everything the GS4 wasn't. My GS4 used to piss me off because it lagged like crazy all the time. I bought the Optimus G Pro and my ONE complaint about that device was the camera. This phone has a better camera than the GS4 and OIS to boot. LG is a little slow with software updates, but their UI runs fast and smooth and very seldom has issues or is missing features I want. This is my new daily driver.
lg og, as much as I love it, was a little bit of a mixed bag. I've dropped mine on concrete multiple times with not a scratch, someone else on the forums took the phone out of his pocket to find the back glass cracked. depending on which binned CPU you got the overheating could be mild to bad to unusable. the camera wasn't great. had and still has incredible devs working on it. still my favorite phone so far. but lg2 looks beautiful, I'm heading to my att store to grab one on Monday. like someone previously said..seems like this is THE phone to get. I was looking at the Sony z1 but the huge bezels and mixed reviews about the display camera and battery turned me off to it. also concerning lgs stock ui..I find it generally ugly, but it is speedy and feature packed for the most part. I left my lgog on stock for almost two months by choice. that's saying something for it.
I couldn't post a link but if you Google ATT G2 vs Verizon G2 there are quite a few reviews out there.
Droid life has a video comparing them its about 8 minutes and decently detailed

That's the one thing, but I'm pretty confident in LG's updates. After playing with my friend's LGOG for about a month, I've been really impressed with LG. He's a rich kid and swapped it out for an S4 (which I definitely wouldn't have done, because I LOVE the optimus G) but he wants it back so he can sell it (like, come on man, you don't even need it anymore). He just had stock 4.1.2 on it which was nice and fast (S4's day-to-day GPU UI performance can't hold a candle), and that's the thing: it may be saddled with features like TW, but is in a completely different league in terms of performance.
Given that CM10.1, AOKP, ThinkingBridge and PA all made it to the LGOG, it shouldn't be a problem on the G2. Thanks for the responses guys, I'm getting the G2 (my dad might decide on the Note 3 so we can swap back and forth ).

[Q] confused in buy G2 or N5

sorry for create this thread but ...
plz give best solution between G2 n N5..
thank u devs. and pros..
g2
I recomend G2, better battery, better camera with ois, better visial, better software.
Man the one thing i think N5 is better is Software and original updates! Just this...
G2 have better camera, screen and battery...
text
Orinal D802 version has all 442 updates, works fine. But i use cloudyflex 2.3 rom. All fine.
Get the g2. I have it as my main phone and the n5 as my travel phone. I keep wishing for longer battery life and better camera on it.

i had a black g2 a few days ago, i traded it with nexus 5, used te nexus about 2 or 3 days.
the battery life is a real difference that you wil notice (im a heavy user) .. the camera yes is somehow seems old to me.
performance: i didnt find a major difference. the great RAM management of the nexus is better but i didn't feel the g2 slower or something. of corse vanilla android is a familiar experience and has its pros
in hand: the nexus make you a little bit confident, better grip due to the Mat back. really confartble to use , especially with one hand. the nexus is way confertable in hand.
by the way, ive sold the nexus Yesterday cz i couldnt resist the offer ($)..i had money in hand and wanted to buy a new phone. head to the store, saw the htc M8, Htc M7, samsung S5, htc one max, note 3, xperia z2......many many phones in store......... i looked at the LG part, saw a white G2.. absolutly irresistible !! took it and payd the guy...went home... got internet..updated the g2 to 4.4.2....rooted it... ignored the 18 months warranty card hehehe.... xposed framework..& VrooOoooMmm VrOOooMmmM ...felt the same feelings when cruising in my '79 Pontiac Trans Am Muhuhahaha

Help me choose a new phone!

Hey there!
I was planning to buy a new phone, and zeroed down on xperia z2, or LG g3. I checked all the online reviews, but wanted xda user reviews
Also, the battery life of g3 is significantly lesser than that of the z2? Z2 is touted to have the best battery backup. My average usage pattern will consist of lots of WhatsApp, and around 3 hours of music. What would you suggest?

You should probably ask in the general forums of those phones. [emoji12]

All the best with your new phone whatever you decide to get
My younger bro already have this LG G3. Im impressed. Less bloatware(stockrom) than sammy rom. Smooth. Great gameplay on HD games. Superb camera quality
OnePlus One?
Have you thought about the OnePlus One? Idk where you're from but here in Malaysia we can get the OnePlus One pretty easily no invite system or what not and its great phone so It comes with colorOS though and no CyanogenMod labelling but you're on XDA so you can always flash CM or some other rom if you wish
You should really consider the Opo.. I got mine last week.. It's the best performing device on the planet according to benchmark tests.. And oneplus are getting rid of that stupid invite system in October..

HTC One M8 if you want sexy phone, which is super fast, smooth, and if you don't care about camera quality and ULTRA BIG cropping.
No other phones,I would choose M8.
Instead of z2 you could wait for z3?
Go for the Iphone 6 !
Just kidding
It all depends on what you are going to use the phone for.
The Note 4 will probably kick but regarding hardware and performance, great note functionality but if you don’t like big phones .. it’s not for u
Seriously, there are many great phones out there (many already mentioned above) so pay a visit to your local phone house and check them out … after all it is you who will own and use the phone …
For me .. I just ordered the Note 4 but thats because i have to compensate for my small Di..
As said, you're best seeking advice in the General thread that has a massive sticky for "what phone should I buy?!?!?!?!?!?!"
Anyway, I'm leaning toward the LG out of those two. As someone else said, if you can wait for the z3 it might be a tighter race, but the LG seems to be an impressive phone. Read a lot of loving reviews and playing with it in-store was a good bit of fun. Don't have a ton of experience with the z2 but I think the LG has it beat ATM.
I vote for Nexus X.
Or LG G3.
LG G3
My next phone ill be LG G3. Just waiting when my i9300 dies
Just got a G2 very cheap yesterday. I've flashed a G3 ported rom and OMG that thing is smooth. I'm still going to keep my i9300 for serving me well 2 and a half years
I have a G3 and a G2. Gave the G3 to my wife. G2 is the better device. Wins hands down in terms of speed and battery life which is just incredible. Also it has active development unlike the G3 which does not have bootloader unlock yet.
the z3 seems like a winner
I would go for the LG.
And if you still have a bit more patience to see what the new Nexus will be.
G3

I bought LG G2 one month ago, and after coming from a phone like Xperia S, I'm quite happy with LG G2. Initially i wanted to buy nexus 5, but since there were no nexus left in any store, I went for LG G2. Which, in my opinion turned out to be better than nexus 5 (battery and screen size).
I have 2 complains regarding LG G2:
1. Having limited memory of 16 Gb really sucks, you only have 10 Gb available to use since system takes up to 5 Gb. I have to constantly keep deleting files in order to install a new app. I have 4 gb of music and large games, and there is no external sd card.
2. While playing high performance games, the phones gets really hot, up to 48 Celsius battery. You can feel the heat in the screen glass. I can't play large games without worrying about damages from high temp.
On the other hand, lollipop custom roms are really fast and extremely smooth. The speed never lets you down, is blazing fast, and gets the job done. Back camera is great. Battery is great, up to 5 days with 5 hours SOT (brightness 33%). Screen is sharp and big, although I wish it was a little bit brighter in maximum brightness.
In my opinion, yes, buy LG G2, it's the best phone for this price.
Mine has 32GB of storage. A lot of the custom ROMs are buggy though. If you are a flashaholic Nexus would be better.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
If your a flashaholic go for the Nexus 5,
Anything else, the G2 is far far better. (I've had both.)
Yeah ..you should definately go for nexus. Lineups if you flash roms and etc more ..as bootloader is locked in lg g2 .... If you like features like ..ir booster and the lg interface ....as the battery is too so much. Better than nexus 5
Thanks guys for the info but i am still confused between these two phones .Any other phone that maybe i miss at this price range?
If you are a flashaholic you should go for nexus 5, otherwise g2 is your best option for that price. Although keep in mind that lg stock rom is good which may cure your flash addiction
Hei mate go for g2 i had the 2 phones but lg g2 is better
Agreed, Get the 32Gb version of the G2 and a case. Cases are cheap on Ebay and will save you the headache of screen replacement (although it is very easy to change).
