Can you help me? Bricked my phone!
So I did something pretty dumb yesterday. Installed the HTC Sense 6 update on my HTC ONE M7, hated it so decided to root my phone to revert back to Sense 5.0 or 5.5 or potentially try a custom ROM. Downloaded a Tmobile 4.3 JB RUU, downloaded android SDK, HTC sync manager, Fastboot. I unlocked boot loader, installed Wheaton recovery by Koush, installed SU, figured phone was rooted but it wasn't. Now I've somehow succeeded in deleting EVERYTHING. Phone continues booting into recovery. Commands using Fastboot aren't recognized because it cannot find any device. When plugged in via USB, PC recognizes that something is plugged in but that's about it.

[Q] Can't Upgrade Radio

My setup is this:
Sapphire PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Right now I'm using [ROM][6.35] CM7.1.0 (30/09/2011) Android 2.3.7, but I wanted to change it to [ROM][6.35] SFM Sense UI 2.3.3 v.1.2, for that I must change radios, but when I try to do that it stucks at about 95% completion when installing, I tried with Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_6.35.10.18 and 6.35.16.19.
How do I upgrade the radio?
Man, do you really have this combination hboot 1.76.2007 with radio 3.22.20.17???
Can you make a photo with it? I'm very surprising.
About your trouble - you can flash radio in fastboot-mode via fastboot.exe utility
fastboot flash radio.img (not zip! )
Sent from my A7-040 using Tapatalk
It's true, but now I can't access neither fastboot nor recovery menu, I tried to install this RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.1_test_signed_NoDriver in order to update the radio, but it also got stuck at 95% radio and 36% general, so I had to uplugged it, it bricked, but with fastboot oem boot i can launch CM7, so the phone resumes operation normally, I can access ROM Manager, but not Recovery meny or fastboot menu. Any suggestions?
thins gone bad to worse, i've manage to install rom1.zip file from the the RUU_Sapphire_Rogers_WWE_3.05.631.7_R_release_signed_NoDriver.exe, but now I'm on a constant loop reboot, I can't get past teh Rogers logo, I' have access to the bootloader and fastboot, but on the fastboot I can't do almost anything, I can't flash anything, I don't have access to the recovery menu. Is there a factory wipe that I can use? Help is desperatly needed, my bootloader info is this:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0010 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
Radio-3.22.20.17
I can only install ROM1.zip from these 3 RUUs:
RUU_Sapphire_Rogers_3.54.631.3_release_signed_NoDriver
3.05.151.3 Vodafone Greece/Portugal test-signed
RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.1_test_signed_NoDriver
and in all cases the phone goes in constant reboot, I tried to replace the files in the rom and rom1 with different recovery e hboot, but in all cases it gives me this error:
12 signature verify fail
Anyone can help me? I can't update my radio, it's allways stuck on:
INFO[RUU]WP, RADIO,97
no matter what radio I use, I can't change it. Should I try to change a radio img file with HEX editor?
Do you have access to fastboot-mode (back + power)?
Hboot-mode (volumedown + power)?
Remove battery first and place it back to power off device if it is bootlooping
Sent from my A7-040 using Tapatalk
Yes, I have access to those two, but not to the recovery menu
My current fastboot info:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0009 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
Radio-3.22.20.17
Such a big forum and nobody can help me?

Try this...
Download custom recovery 1.7.0 H (for 32A) and place it to sdcard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492
Go into fastboot-mode and run this recovery (you can rename to recovery.img)
Code:
fastboot boot /sdcard/recovery.img
If it done you can flash hboot 1.33.2010 S-OFF from recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529019
If it done you will get right combination hboot 1.33.2010 / radio 3.22.20.17 and S-OFF
Then you can flash custom recovery (and custom ROMs for old radio)) or upgrade to hboot 1.76.2007 S-OFF / radio 6.35.XX.XX (and custom ROMs for new radio)
Thanks, but it's too late, I sent the phone to vodaphone, it's still under warranty

You chose right decision, cause it was only attempt to help.
Remember, Magic 32A must be in combination:
hboot 1.33.XXXX / radio 3.22.XX.XX
or hboot 1.76.XXXX / radio 6.35.XX.XX
They need to be updated together
I know that, the problem is that I couldn't change the radio, no matter what radio I tried, it always happened this, it didn't go past 97:

Not development topic!
Anyway, it's better to upgrade your phone to newest combo
Scenario:
1. in fastboot-mode (like at first screen) run
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar cidnum
You will get your regional customerid (CID)
2. According CID choose appropriate RUU from library in section "Vodafone Magic / Sapphire 32B: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403
3. Run it. Now you have build number CRC24 (Android 1.5), after RUU you will have build number DRC92 (Android 1.6), but it is not enough.
4. Then you need apply two update files to get hboot 1.33.0013 / radio 2.22.28.25 (VODAFONE OTA UPDATE from DRC92 to FRG83D)
This combo is most used combo for Magic 32B now. You will have Android 2.2 too.
5. At this step you need get root again (cause it will disappear while installing official roms). Run SuperOneClick
6. Even on Android 2.2 you can not run "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img", cause hboot 1.33.0013 does not allow it too like hboot 1.33.0007
In this case you need follow steps 5, 7, 9 (only these) from manual: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7707672&postcount=1
p.s. Sure, you can do step 6 instead to get custom recovery, but your current combo (hboot/radio) is not used in custom roms. So you have to change it in future. It's better to change them first following all steps in this post.
thank you so much now i have 2.2.1 5[Strogino]

Need help recovering TM MyTouch 32A with SPL(old) Radio(new) mismatch

I loaded new Radio, SPL and Recovery on my phone and lost recovery after that. So I decided to load TM 2.10 release and it overwrote SPL and got hung up loading Radio causing SPL Radio mismatch. Long story short, after that I got great help from mumilover to load SPL 1.33.0014G and unlock the bootloader. Loading of 1.33.0014G changed version-main to 3.57. However good news is boot, recovery and system image files can be loaded one by one making seperate ZIP files with custom android-info.txt files.
I tried cwm-carz-v4.0.1.4-0820-recovery, recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G, recovery-RA-magic+-v2.0.0.1-seo, recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2, recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.7-sapphire and recovery_patched___ra162_635 recoveries, but none of them starts. Also tried to load boot and system images from various releases but with unsuccessful boot.
I tried to load recovery as boot but gives partion update error.
I am looking for any suggestion or special recovery or boot and system image enabling to give access to android system or recovery.
Phone display following on HBoot screen.

p.s. try
Code:

We could make our own recovery image, the source is open on git.
The only thing it has to do, is to flash eng spl on the device!

I recovered my phone with XTC Clip

However my HBOOT is at 1.33.0014, which is different then yours. Do you know XTC clip supports this HBOOT?

This thread is a placeholder for all possible firmwares we can get from official HTC OTA's.
Your CID number must be exactly the same. If it's written "HTC__001" it means you can't flash it, if your CID is "02__001". The whole text must match!
How To: Find the proper firmware variant for the HTC device
How To: Flash firmware package on the HTC device
Please READ this small F.A.Q. before continuing!
What is firmware.zip?
Firmware.zip is a part of each OTA update from HTC. It contains important part of the firmware like radio, bootloader, recovery, kernel etc..
Why it's important to flash firmware.zip and when should I flash it?
It is recommended to have flashed latest firmware on your device for best modem performance and system stability. Sometimes it's necessary to have latest bootloader flashed because otherwise your device might not work well with new system update.
Does firmware.zip contains radio?
Yes, it does contain radio, and for S-ON devices the only method to update radio is to flash latest firmware.zip
Why it's important to flash it before flashing custom ROM?
Because firmware.zip contains boot.img (ramdisk and kernel) that will replace custom boot.img from any custom ROM you have. That's why you have to flash firmware.zip first, because otherwise boot.img will be overwritten with stock one.
If you already flashed firmware.zip after flashing custom ROM, just flash this particular custom ROM again.
Does firmware.zip contains recovery?
Yes, it does contain recovery image, that's why after flashing firmware.zip you will have to flash custom recovery again, to be able to flash custom ROM afterwards.
Can I flash this firmware.zip on any HTC One?
Not if your device is S-ON. To be able to flash it on S-ON device, your modelid (example: PN0710000) and cidnum (example: HTC__001) must match the firmware.zip version you are about to flash.
If my modelid or cidnum doesn't match, can I brick my device if I try to flash firmware.zip anyway?
As long as your device is S-ON flashing firmware.zip with non matching modelid or cidnum will result in error and nothing will be flashed, so there is no risk of brick.
Do I need to have locked, unlocked or relocked bootloader to be able to flash firmware.zip?
Your bootloader needs to be relocked.
If I can't flash newest firmware.zip because of wrong modeid (MID) or cidnum (CID) does it mean I can't use custom ROM based on the latest HTC update?
In most cases you should be able to run any custom ROM as long as hboot update is not mandatory.
What if there is no firmware.zip for my MID/CID?
Try to find latest OTA update for your original stock ROM and send it to me. I will post firmware.zip here.
How to flash?
(bootloader needs to be relocked)
If you are S-ON ---> Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
If you are S-OFF ---> no need to re-lock the bootloader.
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet or in case it's S-ON)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.

Deleted. Wrong info
From what i have seen before you can have different cids but with the same main version number.
If i say this correctly the CID corresponds with regions, so basically you can have different cids yes.
Correct me if i am wrong please

[DISCONTINUED | GUIDE] HTC U11 How-To - Return to Full Stock ROM/Firmware

Hello folks,
as for me such guides were really helpful in the past, and there are alway poeple who are new to a device and modding it, I decided to do one on my own, to show you how to perform a reset of your HTC U11 to Full Stock ROM/Firmware.
In many points I tried carrying together all that has been written down prior to this guide in many others, by many others. Thus I - in some kind - just consolidate the fact, using my own words and a little bit different structure than others. Anyway I'll show you my steps again in this tutorial as I think it is of importance to many that they can read the hole to do in one thread. But I advise everyone.
Please note that I will not accept any responsibility for possible occurring bricks. I can only confirm that this tutorial has been used by me, for my specific unit and all went successful.
Look here for [Collection] HTCU U11 – RUU/Firmware/Recovery/OTA/Backups

22 RU_HEADER_ERROR: something wrong with your zip; check md5 of download
23 PARSING IMAGE FAIL: something wrong with the image within the zip
24 ANDROID-INFO FAIL: something wrong with android-info.txt within the zip
32 HEADER ERROR: the zip couldn't be read and unzipped properly; seems same as 22.
33 NOT KNOWN YET: might indicate hardware failure.
35 FAILED (remote: 35 RU_PARTITION_NOT_SUPPORT <PartitionName>): means you can’t flash an image in download mode, as it has to be done in bootloader mode.
41 WRONG MODEL ID: means the RUU is menat for a different device
42 WRONG CUSTOMER ID: means you got to swap CID first
90 PRE-UPDATE FAIL: means it only flashed aboot and you have to run the process again immediately to flash all other partitions. The htc_fastboot.exe now auto-reboots on Error 90!
99 UNKNOWN: usually indicates you are S-ON, but sometimes also recognizes other Security related issues.
130 WRONG MODEL ID: see 41
155 INDICATES DIFFERENT THINGS:
the need to relock bootloader; if S-ON
the RUU cannot be executed, because the software versions of ROM, Firmware and RUU aren't matching
170 CHECK USB: RUU won’t run because ADB isn't working properly
171 USB ERROR: happens all the time when the RUU reboots the phone to download mode. For some reason the device is losing its connection and making a RUU flash virtually impossible . There is an incompatibility between USB 3/3.1 and Fastboot/ADB, as well as an issue with Windows Device Detection on the newer Windows 10 builds.

Restore using a Nandroid
flash TWRP custom recovery
download custom recovery at https://twrp.me
reboot to download mode
Code:
adb reboot download
flash recovery image
Code:
htc_fastboot flash recovery nameoftwrp.zip
Restore your Nandroid. If you got none yourself, it might be possible that you’ll find one here.
unzip the according Nandroid
copy Nandroid to TWRP/Backup/SerialNo/Nameofbackup on your extSD
restore Nandroid by using TWRP > RESTORE and choosing above copied Nandroid
Flash incremental OTA firmware
reboot to download mode
perform
Code:
htc_fastboot getvar all
and note down your original software version
download all incremental OTA firmwares to your PC, starting with the one above your current firmware version, up to the software version number of your above choosen Nandroid Backup (ATTENTION: If you are S-OFF it will suffice to download the latest Incremental OTA as well as the latest Combined Full Wipe firmware according to the above choosen Nandroid Backup)
flash all incremental OTA firmwares – one after another – following the below named steps (ATTENTION: If you are S-OFF you start with the Combined FullWipe, and proceed with the Incremental OTA one, to ensure that you’ll be able to receive upcoming OTA updates)
Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip nameoffirmeware.zip
(ATTENTION: this has to be done twice to comlete, and it will flash full firmware, thus TWRP will be replaced by stock recovery)
As soon as you restored the Nandroid and flashed all incremental firmware file up to the current build number of your Nandroid, that's it. Your are now Full Stock again!
Restore using a RUU

Is it possible to install a non-branded RUU on a branded device, but otherwise keep things completely stock?

Not possible for as long as S-OFF isn't available. Will do a de-branding thread as soon as it becomes available.

It will say relocked. A real locked state might be possible if S-OFF hits, but no way to do it until then.

Hi,
I'm new to android. I was advised to root my HTC U 11 but after doing so and exploring options I decided I'd rather just remove root and return to stock. However, I'm a noob and didn't do a backup before flashing the recovery and rooting. I found this thread and it seems to have what I need but I'm hesitant to take the next step as I don't want to brick my new phone. Can someone explain what I need to do to return to stock in as simple/dumbed down way as possible?
It's a single sim variant, carrier is Optus (Australia) and the original software version was 1.03.710.7
There's only this step by step guide. Couldn't be more precise at what to do. If you don't understand such a detailed guide I'm a little bit irritated at why you rooted in the first part, if you don't know what happens by doing so and how to revert back properly

RUU any method does not relock bootloader, you have to manually do it in fastboot. Download mode, CMD type fastboot oem lock
