Root KitKat Stock - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey did anyone find a script to root the LG G2 with the new firmware update to KitKat? I've tried to use the scripts that are out, but none worked and tried to root it before update and still nothing. If you guys have any helpful links please and thank you.

well you should look harder and you can find IOroot25 the only that can't be rooted on kitkat is the d801 t-mo variant which needs to be downgraded to 4.2 to root and install custom kk rom which supports root and custom recovery

[Q] Newest root and install recovery method ?

Just as the title says -- ive read and searched and found numerous threads and topics related to an asortment of rooting this phone but could not find one that stated it was the newest method for both rooting and installing a recovery.
I am on the Verizon variant -- 4.4.2 -- build jdq39b -- software version vs98011a --

So this might be the latest method for root then ? this links me to ioroot10 , but im seeing ioroot11 and even a 12 and then other ones talking about 10o also , so hince why im askin for the latest method.
I used 10 to root my phone no problem. I was on the same software version as you, though I think you meant Android 4.2.2 instead of 4.4.2.

ok so assuming everything goes ok with the root -- what is the correct way to install either one of the custom recoveries to flash roms than ?
Bumping ...
Download the recovery, use Flashify on the Play Store.

Rooting was a success no issues at all thank you for the link -- have not installed a custom recovery yet and took the new OTA the B one and I did not loose root in the process, so my next goal is to get a custom recovery installed -- thanks again

From what I have read, you will have issues installing custom recovery on B for now at least. At least you have root.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no root for 4.4.2 yet.
Though you can get back to 4.2.2 and do some magic (Recovery, Root, Flash 4.4.2 as a .Zip, Wipe and keep the Root)
Something like that...
Waiting for Root for kitkat 4.4.2 for LG G2 F320L
Root for 4.4.2 now exists. New ioroot25 was recently released.

[Q] LG G2 D802 Root? Updated toolkit?

Hi ppl,
Just upgraded my G2 to 4.4.2 via LG software.. is there a method to root yet?
Hi mockneygeeza ,
There is a (manual) method to achieve root on 4.4.2, other than downgrading to 4.2.2. Please follow this guide.
ioroot25 says it now works on 4.4.2 devices. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869. Maybe you should give it a try.

Now it seems that the lack of people concerned about this issue. G2's other models are not updated or do not have this problem?
wouldn't tot to zve, manually updating to zvg/zvh and then rooting again work? If there is no root on zvi and you need it, downgrading to an older version looks to be the only option.

I am also stuck on ZVI and I want to root, flash TWRP, and run custom roms.
I have not seen any guides to do this that don't require root already. Many thanks will be given if you know of a way to downgrade the version on a stock phone. I have fasboot/ADB up and running I can easily flash something just let me know how or what.

to restore back the ZVE version (the last KK version) and OTA to ZVG (LP), then root, at your own risk.
Zvg and zvh root and install twrp with no problems using the lg one click root and autorec apk. If you want to install custom roms, stop at zvh and root. Don't go to zvi.
