Hello mate ,
First of all the charger provided by samsung is never of a great quality . And your grand 2 is charging just a bit slow . It should heve been charged.in about 3-4 hrs. but I guess it can be also a problem of your wall socket . Maybe the voltage must be slow that time that's why it took about 5hrs. to achieve full charge . You don't have to worry . It's not the fault of your Galaxy grand .
Don't forget to press thanks If I helped you in anyway .

There could be problem with wall socket or your phone. Cos mine takes about 2.5 hours to charge from 5% to 100%. Try charging in different socket and see if dat works.

if they have said that, they do suspect the issue with the hardware or else they would have not have given you a new charger. they are hoping that the issue is resolved with a charger. there is no harm in sending the handset to them to check the hardware.

Issue with Charger not with Phone
I had similar issue. It was taking me around 3.5 hours for 100% charging of Grand 2 with Samsung Charger.
I switched my charger to LG charger (I got it with LG L90) and interestingly it now takes only 2 hours

Hi..im experiencing the same problem as yours with my grand 2..i tried using other samsung charger but the problem still occur..i even plugged it in on other sucket hoping it could be flowing of current itself but..still the same..then what seems to be the problem?! It takes 12hrs before my phone gets completely charge..

My phone took around 2hrs to complete charge. If your phone took about the same time then it could just be a software glitch. Try factory reset or reflash firmware.
If it took obvious longer time let say 3hrs or more then it could be a hardware problem.
I reflashed the official rom poland one 4.4.2 but still has the same issue
Charging li-on battery gets slower towards the end of the charging cycle. That's normal. The only thing you should be worried about is how long battery lasts in use. If you have bad battery it charges up faster, not slower then also runs out of juice fast.
Charge with original charger and cable to make sure problem is not there.
I always leave my note charging over night so I don't know how long it should take to reach 100%

Problem with charging the battery!!!!

A friend of mine owns a Glaxy Grand 2 (obviously ) he has a problem with charging his battery. It takes him from 5 to sometime 6-7 hours and despite that the phone charges until it goes to 90-94 % and then it stucks there. If he remove the battery and open the phone again the battery is fully charged.
Any tips or a solution?
My thought was that its an ROM problem.
What is yours?
Thank you in advance!
maybe the firmware problem are you on latest firmware?

check your charger. it should be 1Amp. If it is 0.7Amp output, then it will get stuck at 94 to 95%
click on thanks if you think I helped.

Is it recommended to change the suggested charger that comes in the box... I dont know at this point if it is 0.7A or 1A, but will there be no problem to change to a charger with 1A output if its 0.7?

Yes its the first thing that i asked him, maybe a reinstall of the ROM could fix things. But i thought i would ask if anyone else had the same problem.
you should try re flashing the whole rom using odin otherwise go to a samsung repair center
I have exactly the same problem,
Sometimes it stuck on 92%,93%,94% but sometimes it works perfectly

Mt SM-G7102 came with 1A charger. My wife has the S2 which comes with the 0.7A charger. if I use the S2 Charger, my Grand 2 gets stuck on 94%. If I use the Grand 2 charger, charges right up to 100 percent with no hiccups.

you seem to have replied without reading.
the S2 charger is 0.7A and the GRAND 2 charger is 1.0 A. so, buying a S2 charger will never help. You will be stuck on 94% for a very long time. You need a 1A charger for Grand 2.

Well, in that case, have you thought of getting it checked by Samsung? Maybe its a hardware fault?

I flashed by Samsung firmware 4.3.3 again and it's NOT solved
Hi MY Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 mobile is not getting charged. when it is of 40% I connected to charger, when I see it after 10 mints it went down to 10%. I tried with different chargers to make my mobile battery full but its got getting charge. so if some one knows how to get slove this problem please let me know.
Thank you.
This one kind of problem is kinda the hardware based and not the software. As you can see guys, if you reviewed every single reply and solution. The charger is the problem with some replies, so the charger from S2 will make you get stucked on some certain point of 90% to 94% but if the Grand 2 charger will never have problem.
Conclusion: Use you're own charger (Typically the original charger u have when u got ur phone)

Try to use original samsung charger. If that is not working, Try to caliberate your battery( There are so many threads in xda about how to caliberate battery).

Try Snapdragon Batteryguru for Calibration
Freeze apps which you don't use.
Weather Daemon was the culprit in my case when i flashed Lollipop.
Sounds like you have a faulty battery.

Thank you for you reply...:good:
My Asus Zenfone Pro M1 takes almost 4 hours to charge full battery.
I tried all different chargers, Asus original, Xiaomi, also Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0
Battery charging from 5-50% takes more than 2 hours ...no matter which charger I use.
Should I go for warranty?

I think you should go for warrenty as the inbox charger or quick charger 2.0 would charge you mobile from 20% to 100% within 2.30 hours at max so if charging time goes higher then this then you should replace the device if its under warranty
i charged my phone from 12% to 100% in 2hrs 40 mins. use inbox charger for charging it is faster then normal other chargers. it also depends if wifi is on or network data is on and if you are using the phone when charging if 4g data is on it will charge slower.

Ya Thanks Am thinking of going with warranty as No stock ROM downloads available to flash and try.
I tried reset and every wall plug in my house no difference ..only charges 20-22% in an hour. , and all other phones charges perfect in house.
I have till May 24 for replacement.
Thanks

Sometime it does charge fast but most of the times it gets overheated and takes more than 8 hours to charge.
Well, I found out it charges best only with stock Asus charger came with phone in box.
Theoretically all chargers with 5V-2A should charge it same way, but that's not the case here.
Guys, anyone having charging problem taking long time, use only stock Asus charger provided in the box, your problem will be solved.
Hey!I have this problem too.when I charge,it goes overheated. It takes almost 3 hours to charge up to 90%.i bought it in 10 may sale.after that I received two ota updates. After these updates battery is draining very fastly.i only get up to 6 hours of battery backup in a full charge.Feels like I m using a 3000mah battery smartphone. Please help me out.I am waiting for reply.....

Only stock charger after minute or two, switches to charging rapidly, All other chargers says only charging.
Yeah it took around 2hrs to charge the phone from 39% to 94% with stock charger and latest firmware(305), also the battery is discharging quite rapidly considering it has 5k mah battery. I think the stock os still needs tons of optimization and many simple features(pip is missing, network speed on status bar, option for auto sync and many more).

My sister just bought this recently and also got an update (I think it's the latest firmware(305), the same firmware that you've mentioned), but I found it pretty peculiar, it's said "charging slow" on the lock screen even after 3-5 minutes when I use the stock charger (5V == 2A). The weirder thing is I used my Lenovo P2 charger which is the same configurations as my sister's charger and I try charging it to the max pro m1 and it did charge faster, it said "charging" on the lock screen. I'm really confused here, is it because the update?. Do I have to wait for another update or is there any other way to fix this?
Got the phone today. It was charging nicely. Then i updated it and charging got crap.Battery started draining.Might help if we can downgrade i guess.
Clear recent apps. Most importantly keep screen off. If needed one reboot and the charging is back to quick charge.....its the background apps and inability of software tweaking / background app control / battery conservation software to change from normal 2 QC. Probably the next update will b better.
I think it might just be the update ?
Huff.... I hope Asus could fix this pretty soon

You have to charge it 2-3 times from 0-10% to 90-98% so that the battery calibrates. I also found it wierd at starting but after doing this my phone charges from around 15% to 98-99% in 2 hours and 20 -2 hours 40 minutes depending on whether I've enabled the data and location. Also the standby drain is too much so I've uninstalled some system apps and use greenify to hibernate other apps, with this now it's 3-5% drain in 9 hours. Now I easily get 8-9 hours of SOT with heavy gaming also.
