This is essentially the same rom as we published for the A200 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693179 and here: http://www.acertabletforum.com/forum/acer-a200-roms/10043-rom-a200-omnirom-kitkat-4-4-2-a.html
We have now modified our sources to support also the A500!
Why Omnirom, and not Cyanogenmod ?
Google , through AOSP repository, has dropped support for the Tegra 2 platform. The Tegra 2 does not support the 'neon' instruction set, and more importantly relies on a set of old (ICS) proprietary hardware libraries. AOSP has dropped support for both non-neon devices and the older hardware libraries.
Cyanogenmod has decided to follow AOSP on this and has dropped Tegra 2 support since CM-10.2. With CM-10.2 the differences were not yet very big and could be overcome. But with CM-11 it has become an unreasonably large effort to add Tegra 2 support.
Only Omnirom, for now, has included the forward-ported code in its repository to support machines like Acer A500
How to install
Recovery
To flash this rom, it's necessary to have a recent recovery (at least CWM 6.0.4.4 or TWRP 2.6.3.1) having Selinux capabilities.
Otherwise the flash operation fails with status 0 or status 7. There are also some problems installing GApps with Thor's recovery v.1.8.1.
We recommend using CWM 6.0.4.5 by nelsontky: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583710
Flashing
Boot in recovery mode to flash the KitKat Rom.
First, don't forget to execute a 'Wipe Data/Factory reset'
Flash the KitKat Rom
Flash the Minimal Gapps
Do a 'wipe cache partition'
Flash the SuperSU zip file if you need it
Flash the Netflix fix if you need it
And reboot System !
Be patient on first boot... There's a lot of background work to do, before coming to the 'Welcome' screen. Don't worry if you are stuck with a black screen for several minutes. Next boot will be much faster.
After first configuration, it's recommended to reboot the tablet to avoid some unstabilities after 1st boot.
Enjoy KitKat !

Changelog

Build 1&2 were for A200 only.
GApps are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
For the A200 the Pico package is the only one that is small enough so we generally recommend that. The A500 has more space in the system partition and should be able to use the larger packages as well.
SuperSU is here: (needed only if you wish to have a full rooted access)
SuperSU is needed for root, get the latest CWM flashable zip from here:
[2014.02.06] SuperSU v1.93 - xda-developers
Netflix fix for builds 1-4 (not needed for build 5) is here: netflixfix.zip
Flash in recovery. It will just copy this simple script to init.d. It is run during boot and changes a setting in the Netflix configuration to use a player backend that works with the Tegra 2. This is a workaround for a bug in Netflix that makes it choose a video player backend that is incompatible with the Tegra 2. The config file is created the first time Netflix is started, so the very first time you start Netflix it will force close. After that, reboot, and then Netflix should work.
Remember : in all cases, it's a good idea to make a backup before installing!
We're not responsible, in any way, if you brick your tablet!
Big thanks to:
- the Omnirom team
- pjsports for the A500 JB kernel and device tree
- nelsontky for building the recovery
- and everyone else that has been working on the Iconia A500 / A200!

I'd really prefer to see someone port a clean working copy of CyanogenMod 11 to this device, personally. the TegraOwners team already has a working port of OmniRom on the A500, which is a little laggy, but otherwise fully functional(including netflix, sound recorder, etc.)

Well then why not try doing it yourself?
The main idea with this rom is to provide an open source alternative for the A500. Not everyone appreciates the closed source policy at the "other forum".

sorry, I sort of worded my post a little harshly and it came out wrong.
I'm actually plenty happy to see an alternative to their roms, and to see that someone is working on the A500 at all.
I meant to say that although it's nice to see, I would personally rather see someone try to port it(even if it's a failed attempt, and post their results so others can try and help out), even though it's a lot of work and a lot harder than AOSP at the moment.
Unfortunately I don't have the knowledge or skills to get any rom working on any device. I've even tried compiling roms before, and failed. Maybe someday!

Ok no problem. We actually did try to build CM first. But we could never get it to display the user interface because of the missing support for our graphics libraries. When we realized how big the effort would be to get it working, and that support was already available in OmniROM, we switched. I don't know about Thor, but I'm guessing his reason for switching to omni were similar.
Our sources for cm11 are on github, in branch "cm11" and only in the a200 device tree. It's a fair bit behind the OmniROM version now though. It would be better to take the omnirom branch and modify it back to CM format. The differences between CM and Omni device trees are not very big.
Edit: I should add that the challenging part would be to modify the CM android_frameworks_av and android_frameworks_native packages to add support for the tegra2 libraries. There alse seems to be a quite new bug in the CM build system that makes it compile in neon instructions even when it shouldn't.

Prefer anything over CM, thanks! I'll have to reroot since I upgraded to the latest version of ICS. I'll report back any issues.

Henrik & the team, many thanks for your efforts. I never thought Kitkat would ever reach the shores of the A500. I thought all Rom support had all but ended.

Nice work, I thought for sure that we would never see 4.4 on an A500. I have it flashed and running. I tried Netflix and it force closes. Also the video recording doesn't work.

Thanks for the report! Which app did you use to test video recording?

I used the stock app.

Wow KK! Time to dig out my old A500

Is this overclocked?

Yes, overclocking is included. You just have to enable it in the developer options.

I found a workaround for Netflix here: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_hardkernel_odroidu2/blob/cm-10.2/conf/98netflix
It seems to work also on this rom, it displays the interface now instead of just closing. But nobody in the team has a Netflix account so we haven't been able to get further than that. I made a simple flashable zip to install the fix. Simply flash it in the recovery. It will just copy one file, and not touch anything else. The download link is in the first post.

Flashed and it worked. I was able to stream and all good. Awesome!

USB Device Not Recognized
Hey everyone,
Sorry if this is a dumb question... I just picked up an A500 tonight, and can't get the USB drivers to work. Specifically, when I plug in the cable I get "USB Device Not Recognized". As a result, I can't get into boot loader mode, etc. I downloaded the Acer driivers, the Universal Android Drivers, etc, and it does the same for all of them. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Mandy

[ROM][ICS][P7300/P7310]Official CyanogenMod 9 [2012-09-03]

This is the official CM9 port for the P7300 and the P7310.
EXPERIMENTAL BUILDS 2012-09-03
These builds uses the Linux 3.1.10 kernel and the libs from the official P7310 ICS firmware (the P7300 has borrowed the RIL lib from the official P7500 firmware).
Known issues is some graphics glitches in landscape modes that sometimes appear and that running Google Maps makes Android restart after ~1 minutes use (There's something with the compass sensor driver that goes berserk). And yes, both cameras works.
Important: First install Clockwork 6.0.1.2 in the second post if this thread. If you use the old Clockwork you will get a black screen on the first boot and you will need to do a long press on power to get it running again.
EDIT 2012-09-05 - Do not use Clockwork 6.0.1.2, possible risk of bricking (not sure yet if permanent or if it can be fixed). Using old recovery works with the new builds but you will need to do a long press to get the display working after each time you have booted into recovery.

Changelog
2012-03-02 - We're official! But I'll keep uploading "nightlies" here until the buildbot starts spitting out new builds automaticly. However for changelog I recommend keeping and eye on what get's merged here: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged,n,z
2012-02-27 - Freshly synced against CM repo.
2012-02-10 - Soft keyboard is now always enabled.
2012-02-08 - Changed PRODUCT_RELEASE_NAME to GT-P7300/GT-P7310. Synced source with CM9 where the required patches for 3G and KSM now has been merged.
2012-02-03 - Fixed battery stats (thanks motley) and also added KSM support.
2012-01-30 - Touchscreen driver rewritten to use multitouch slots which I believe is the new standard in ICS. Seems to work a lot better than the old method.
2012-01-27 - Updated 3G fix (airplane mode is supposed to be fixed). Added bluetooth toggle in notification area + wifi toggle.
2012-01-26 - Added undervolting and more overclocking frequencies (stolen from Motleys kernel). Fixed screenshot feature.
2012-01-24 - Both: Some improvements to Torch (no longer flicker, added bright mode to kernel, quick and dirty fix to widget size) and also fixed the battery indicator in low power mode (charging when off) P7310: Removed signal strength bars
2012-01-23b - Enabled CIFS, NTFS and TUN in kernel. Replaced sensors.p3.so with P7300 version.
2012-01-23 - Youtube HD now works. New proprietary libs from pershoots repo. Also modified pershoots P75xx kernel to work with P73xx so it is no longer using Motleys kernel (although several files was kanged from Motleys kernel to make pershoots kernel work on our devices). Now uses bootanimation.zip from Xoom ICS release (looks pretty much the same as before). CIFS, TUN and NTFS is not included in this release but will be added in the next one.
2012-01-11 - Resynced source, tweaked autobrightness, added Torch from CM7 (untested since my camera LED is broken)
2012-01-09 - Initial release
Known issues
Camera is not working.
Compass is 90 degrees wrong.
Rotation animation "blanks out" before it starts.
Voice calls (P7300 version) isn't working although some report recieving calls work while outgoing calls is a not.
HDMI output is rotated 90 degrees.

Everything is done at your own risk.
Flash from either stock recovery or another Clockwork recovery.
Thats great to see
Camera works?
Definitely the smoothest experience I've had on this tab; having tried Stock, Overcome and ICS Alpha 2.
Edit:
Camera and Video playback (Youtube, YouTubeHD, Netflix I'm assuming) are of course a no-no still at the moment.
SD Card Video playback has been no problem for me, save for a bit of stuttering on high profile MKV's, but that's the same on every rom.
Streaming Icefilms worked flawlessly, which leaves me happy.
All I want, a fix for the strange half a second Rotation stretching, HD video playback fixed, and ma camera! This would be the perfect rom.
The currently running widgets thing has the app photos rotated 90 degrees, and the screen streches for half a second when rotating.
Otherwise, I'm very happy to see that my tablet is capable of attaining speeds like. Absolutely flawless; what I would give to have a complete ICS rom. xD
Great to see another ICS pop up. I was getting random freezes with Alpha2 as well...I'm assuming its probably related to the kernel?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
One annoyance however; no Market comes with the stock flash, and neither does a file explorer apparently. -___-
EDIT: Finally managed to get market installed, and it insta closes on start. =[
And then I realized its because I failed to remember to flash the Google Apps. -____- haha
Cool Race
Hi, presumably the reace between Alpha 2 team and CyanogenMod9 team is on...
will be interesting to see (and feel) the results once they become Beta...
Looking forward for the result of both teams !

I have no intention to start any competition. We both have the same goal, a stable and fully functional ICS for the Galaxy 8.9, and I believe sharing thoughts and ideas is the best way to achieve that goal.
And btw, I'm not a team, and while I am responsible for another CyanogenMod port (ZTE V9) this is not by any way yet an official CM9 port. Maybe it will be one day, maybe it won't.

Adding to that the fact that this is, as the title says, based in CM9 whereas Galaxian Soup's ICS is no longer based in CM9, just AOSP. Both stances are great. The more the merrier I say! This community needs more ideas, more development and talented people like you, alterbridge86 and Team Galaxian Soup. For this, I thank you.
great rom.I like this rom(maybe batter than galaxy soup alpha2).It is smooth as other roms and fixed the auto bright level on the galaxy soup(it's important to me).thanks the good work.
This ROM is run is running real well for me....looking forward to future updates.

When this ROM gets the voice functions working, I'll try it again. Until then, I'm going back to Galaxian Alpha 2 where it all works perfectly.

Actually we already have a kernel that supports 3G and has the needed ICS fixes, but it doesn't help, the CM9 ICS build has data disabled.
We (Galaxian-Soup) are working on making a ICS build that has data enabled.

Here's a totatally untested P7300 version: update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-p5-KANG-signed-20120112.zip
May or may not work. Kernel compiled for P7300 and based on pershoots P7500 repo. Used the same proprietary files as in the P7310 version except for the ril lib.

I couldn't find a thread dedicated to this, so..... As well all know, CM has turned on the builds for the Samsung Galaxy S5 variants and builds have been churning out for the past few weeks. However, they are still weeks behind @albinoman887's unofficial builds, missing various fixes and what have you. So this is a thread for those of you who wish to try out the official nightlies and want to post bugs or feedback without cluttering the unofficial's thread. If you want to help get things going smoothly, contact Ethan Chen (https://twitter.com/intervigil) and ask him to push Matt's (albinoman887) changes through. With that said, some info from albinoman887 (sorry, had to borrow this):

WARNING! This ROM is for the SM G900* snapdragon only! This will not work on the octa-core or Exynos versions
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.0 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
CM-12.0 Install Guide
Note: CM for Galaxy S5 LTE is provided with no warranty. You are installing this software at your own risk. You may be violating your warranty.
Download CM-12.0 and gapps-lp zips, kernel, TWRP 2.8.4.0 and other zip stuff and put in /sdcard
ROM: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=klte
gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/par...apps-official-to-date-pa-google-apps-t2943900
Use TWRP 2.8.1.0 tar flash thru odin http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/klte/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-klte.tar and thru this recovery flash this one Ktoonsez TWRP 2.8.4.0
http://goo.gl/LgBsuk
[*] Wipe data and cache.
[*] Flash cm-12*.zip.
[*] Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM-12.0 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
[*] Reboot phone.
for now on CM12 nightly works best with Ktoonsez kernel http://goo.gl/LgBsuk
thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777842
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM-12.0 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM-12.0 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Change that red text to "WARNING! This ROM is for the SM-G900* Snapdragon variants only! This will not work on the octa-core or Exynos versions."
I might also want to add that it is said that it is best to use the official Gapps from here, but the PA Gapps have worked fine for me.
I have contacted Ethan Chen and he said that he just hasn't had time to look at the S5 lately. Sounds a bit promising.
My results on the 1/28 nightly with ktoonsez' 1/25 kernel build:
* Bluetooth pretty much set, occasional minor hiccups on my car audio but otherwise great.
* Bluetooth does still occasionally completely crap itself and stop audio playback after a long period of time (>5 hours). If this happens, a reboot is required, and trying to turn bluetooth off and back on results in an FC in Bluetooth Share.
* Camera is still crashing when taking low-light photos.
Haven't encountered any other issues so far.
Edit: OP mentioned TWRP recovery; I'm using philz touch with no issues.
On 900i (kltedv) doesn't work NFC !
The 1/30 nightly has issues with the Recents menu - it seems that the majority of the time, trying to activate it from within an app silently fails. It does work from the home screen, though.

12-20150201-NIGHTLY-klte
Just flashed the latest nightly coming from touchwiz stock on my NZ SM-G900I.
Issue 1: NFC won't turn on, just stays grayed out when you press it.
Issue 2: WiFi connects no problem to 2.4 and 5GHz networks, but it is so ridiculously slow. Maxing 100Kb/s download, and 40Kb/s upload, but the average is a lot slower. Reboot hasn't changed the speed at all, so I'm thinking it's a radio issue. It also takes a long time to connect to any cellular network after reboots.
Issue 3: (not so much an issue) but it now shows my device model as SM-G900F in settings, but it is definitely a SM-G900I model.

(///////////////////////////////) FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
-Will you make this for the T705, T800, T805, T-whatever ?
I only own the T700, which allows me to test the builds myself and to ensure the best experience for that model.
However, the T800 will probably get some love soon and I will post a test build in the near future, since it is easy to develop for wifi only models.
As for the T805, I think that variant runs with a Snapdragon chip, so it would be very unlikely to see my rom for you guys. But then again, I might be very kind one day and try to make a test build, stay tuned
___
-Will 'superdupergreatdabeast' custom Kernel v.1318342 with overclocking at 2884092GHz (help I've fried my tablet) work on this ROM? Will Synapse work ? SELinux Permissive ?
Yes, and feel free to use any Kernels that are compatible with Lollipop touchwiz I might include my own soon.
___
-How come Netflix or (insert any google play store apps here) doesn't work ? WHY ? WAT U DO FOR NO WORKING SIR
My ROM is based on Official firmware, and although the stock kernel used has init.d enabled, it is still a very stock kernel, in no way modified. So your problem with said app is related to the developer behind this app not working properly on Stock Touchwiz 5.0.2; Blame Samsung, not me
___
Been waiting for this. ?

Depending on the app, you could either pull the apk or perhaps someone might have it. Presuming the OP doesn't have an option on install (like aroma).
This made my weekend.
Yay, a zip based LL install! Much more convenient than Odin (in my opinion of course )
Thanks!
I'm excited too!! Looking forward to this.
Thanks boss for efforts.
I must say, may be my opinion is in minority, any twz rom has no sense with this crazy tiny interface. It is way to small for me... I us now any aosp/ cm rom with 384 or 400 dpi and it fits perfectly for me.
Thanks for the support guys I'm uploading it as we speak, check out the download section for the screenshot Should be ready in around 2 hours; and yes, my upload speed is terrible
I've decided to release an early Release Candidate build because there is one tiny issue with the fingerprint lock method, it says that "an error has occured with the fingerprint sensor' when you choose the option in Lock Screen.
It might be a small issue with the fingerprint apk after it has been deodexed because it works with odex files. Still trying to sort this issue out. But other than that, the whole ROM is working perfectly as expected, so I didn't want to keep you guys waiting
I'll upload a small update file once I fix the problem so that you guys can flash it on top of the Release Candidate ! Anyways heading to uni, should be uploaded when I get back

By 'non tiny', do you mean a bigger interface ? Yeah, I suppose I could work on that. Once I get a stable release, I was thinking about theme-ing the SystemUI and framework res anyways.

Yeah, I mean the font size across applications such as gmail, Facebook, but most importantly...Chrome!
Adjusting the system font size unfortunately doesn't help....the system menus just become too huge.
Anyway, it's not a huge deal.
THE ROM IS UPLOADED ! HAPPY FLASHING I'm using this as a daily driver for the last 15hours, and haven't found any issues apart from the fingerprint one. So you should have no problem, but if you do, don't hesitate to share it with me, I'll be happy to help

cheers mate, installing now.
With dpi 380 or 400 (stock is 320) everything is set perfectly. Then just small font adjustments for system and/ or specific apps which have this option...
Strange... did all the recommendation before flashing ROM (tick system in mount, latest TWRP...) and stuck at Samsung Galaxy Tab S Logo (first phase). I've waited 15 mins and still bootlooping... what I did wrong?

Hmm, have you checked the md5 to make sure you got a good download of the ROM? Something like that happened with my Note 4..

Yes, I've actually just noticed that bug now, I'm working on it. I think I know where the problem is. Thanks for the feedback

[ROM][AOSP 7.0][T700/T705/T800/T805]

INTRODUCTION
This rom is just a revival work based on the awesome rom from @Schischu in this thread. @Schischu managed to port aosp 6.0 to the galaxy tab S family before samsung ever annouced it, then reiterated the exploit by porting aosp 7.0 to it. Unfortunatly he kind of paused/stopped the job without further notice. So i have revived and will maintain this rom until he eventually decide to take back the project.
I have been downloading roms on xda for various phones since my first htc tytn smart phone almost 10 years ago and one thing that really bother me is that one never know if the job will be stopped or when a new release will be out. So while i consider that this is pure fun and the devs have no obligations to the end users, i will keep this rom alive by applying the monthly patch from Goggle (Around the 10th of each month). The only reason that i could stop doing so is that my galaxy Tab S is lost/stolen or eating by the kids (bet on that one ), if so i will notify it here. I can only really test on the T805 too btw, don't have the other variants.

OTA - UPGRADES
I do not plan to maintain OTA. and i will even disable the options in an upcoming release.
However it would be great if someone could maintain an ota branch & OpenDelta server each time a new rom is published.
If you are interested contact me in PM to setup the procedures together.
You can always manually upgrades from twrp (zip or sideload), just clean cache & dalvik after each upgrades and always reinstall Supersu (and gapps)

TIPS'n'TRICKS
MTP mount are sometimes (each time for me under linux) not browsable after plugging the tablet. As workaround going to Developer options -> Select Usb Configuration and re-choosing MTP, remount it correctly
If 5Ghz Wifi does not work , you need to change the region in Settings->Wifi->Settings->Wifi country code
Hearthstone and serveral other Unity games: Enable 4x MSAA in development options else it won't work
Slither.io and a few other games don't run if 4x MSAA is enabled: Disabled 4x MSAA in development options else it won't work
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.

Thanks dude! I have a T800 and was really hoping we'd see more action on the Nougat ROM. I am going to dirty flash this over Schischu's ROM and let you know how it goes.
Dirty flashed over @Schischu's previous build. Booted with no problems. Can confirm these issues (which existed already on the old build):
Stock camera app works, but crashes when recording video. A Better Camera app crashes.
NBC/Universal video apps (SyFy now, for instance) will play commercials, but not the selected video.
Screen still glitches when changing orientation.
Wow I can't remember the last time I posted a thank you on the very first page of a new ROM thread.
I too have been here since before Android but my first smartphone was a device with a physical keyboard. Then my first android phone was the famous HTC Dream, then I replaced that with the first Nexus phone and the Vibrant as well.
Thanks for giving us something to play with and hopefully use as a daily.

Nice catch. I added the stock camera / video one to the list after testing . I ll check it but i have a fixable todo list for at least 1 - 2 weeks
Did it worked on aosp6 ? If yes i may have an idea of the actual issue.

You know I remember my brother got the tytn around the same time I got the first android or abouts. Kinda hard to remember now but I'm sure he had the tytn. I think it was spelled like this TyTN and it ran windows mobile. I had one but I remember it being broken I think. Was a great concept too.
The Vibrant (same as the Galaxy S) was the first device that I actually waited for the t-mobile store to open up lol. It was the first device that really got me hooked on flashing custom anything.
For the most part I have been quite disappointed with this tablet of mine. Just not enough development for it. My 2012 Nexus 7 has better Roms which is really sad because the potential of this tablet is crazy good I think. purenexus on my N7 runs so much better than anything I have tried on this T700. Really really sad.
I hope someday we see 7.1 for this device. Lol

A Better Camera app and stock camera app both worked perfectly on AOSP 6.
Video apps worked fine too. There was speculation that there was a problem with the video drivers that affected 1080p playback in the YouTube app and such, and that was also the problem with the NBC/Universal apps.
First thanks you this ROM is really good! I have attached screenshot of the bug when we change the display size to bigger, the icon in the header isn't centered
And it's just a question but isn't the recent app (in landscape and I'm t800) too small? I mean it's shouldn't be larger ? It's looking a bit like marshmallow(screenshot too)
Thanks a lot :highfive:

Haha the max large is a bit too big but this is really not the most important issue :good:
And I think I have a screen of pixel c: I'll sent to you in a few minutes but in landscape it's much larger and looks a bit better

Really appreciate your time mate.
But, i will stay with AOSP 6.0 until 7.1 come out for Tab S family
Cheers and Goodluck.

Probably because the wifi scanning is turn on, and also ''ok google'' sound activation is activited in any screen.

I try all the display size and it's still the same layout but I think it's a tiny thing to change (don't know if it's possible )
Great Rom, Night Light by Braden Farmer works to get auto red filter.
Also I had some security warnings when re-installing some apps from Titanium. Like Anti-Malware warnings on Windows. Must be new security measures.
My first experiences with "malosasha's" ROM
My first experiences with "malosasha's" ROM:
To install the ROM, I followed your instructions and was surprised that everything worked out
I just installed SuperSU (SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip) bevor the gapps.

If it helps anyone, I had the problem with gapps failing when flashing. And found that flashing SuperSU after the ROM and before the gapps fixed it for me. Tried several times and worked the same each way.

Then I istalled MyBackup from the ext SD and installed my secured apps.
Reboot and till now everything is working without any error.
I never had this bevor it was always a bit tricky to install a new ROM and the Gapps - Congratilations !!!
I am very glad that the development of our tab continues - Thanks a lot for your work !!!
Regards Klaus
I just tried IR and it works, I can power up/down my TV with the tablet.
Edit: can't have a GPS fix. Won't try in high accuracy mode.

Android-Generic Project - Android for PCs & GSI devices
What is Android-Generic Project?:
Android-Generic is a collection of scripts, manifests & patches that allow for rapid prototyping of Android projects based off AOSP to produce generic images for Android GSI or Linux PC hardware.
For a more in-depth description of the goals and progressions leading up to this project, please read
this blog post
Vision:
To fill you all in on the grand scheme of things with Android-Generic, the plan come in stages.
* Stage 1 is laying the groundwork for all ROMs to build both PC and GSI builds by supplying them with a standard set of minimal patches. Thanks to Android-x86 & PHH-Treble, thats done. now we collect them and make them easy to apply for everyome. DONE
* Stage 2 is collecting variations of the conflicts those standard patches could potentially have and simplifying the process as we go. This is where all the Android ROMs come in STARTED
* Stage 3 is to use the variations of conflict resolutions from each ROM folder to further automate the process and have vendor patches be automatically figured out by trying each resolution until one sticks. STARTED
* Stage 4 is to continue to automate elements of the process until things are almost too easy STARTED

Updated the second post with a Downloads link to the PC builds so far. Uploaded Tesla Project and will be adding CarbonROM tonight. I'll also upload the PixelExperience build, but I think that we're missing something they add to their gapps they include for phones. So it has some bugs. Test with CarbonROM for now
!!WARNING!!
As a reminder. These builds are for testing only. No user support will be provided.
Android Generic - PC Builds - New ROM added - 08.25.20
What's Included:
CarbonROM - So we're on to our second update of CarbonROm now. Things there are all working smoothly so far.
Dirty Unicorns - We're also pushing out an initial test build for Dirty Unicorns. Some small issues with these builds so far. Sleep buttons aren't showing in the power menu, and Taskbar's nav buttons for back and home don't respond in these builds either.
Changes to AG:
- Updated how vendor overlays are working
- Added support for vendor specific permissions overrides.
- Various script improvements
- Updated ReadMe
ROM Changes:
- Check the changelogs we include with each build.

Update: 082520
Have noticed an issue with the TESLA build.
It installs fine, boots fine, saves my wifi login creds, etc..., However, if I try to install any apps from playstore, or even let it update apps like gboard or Brave Browser, it says that I need to free up space. I have 16gb data.img file on NTFS partition.
Also noticed that it says there's an issue with the SDCARD, when I select either use as internal, or as transfer storage, it formats, and stops @ 23% and never finishes. System is not locked up, I can close out and do other stuff.
Not sure if anyone else is even working with Tesla rom. But just thought I would make aware.
I installed CarbonROM same way, and have no issues with Carbon. Says I have 16g avail, sees the remainder of the drive, etc... worked with GearLock, installed several apps from playstore, etc... no issues.
Note:
Also I will add I am probably considered at "user" level, as I am just getting interested in Custom Roms. and don't expect full-on support, I fully get these are nowhere ready for general public. If I shouldn't be even using these roms please just say so.
However, If i can help test things, and provide developers with usable info, i would like to assist any way I can. If I am only getting in the way, well that's no help to you.

As long as you're willing to do the legwork for providing feedback and logs to go with that feedback I see no reason why you can't help test these builds
And to answer your questions, Android-Generic only applies a standardized set of changes on-top of the ROMs. Most of these ROMs will have their quirks though as not everyone does things the same way. CarbonROM is a good example of a ROM that doesn't add any device-specific changes that would require a device maintainer to change things from the norm in order to get a fully functional device build. But they also have a large enough user base to where most of the device-side issues have been reported and fixed. Tesla is a very small ROM so far in Q. Just one person doing all the work. So there is a very limited amount of devices it has been tested with and fixes added. Just give them time while development builds back up
One other thing you can try when you are having issues on a build is to delete the data image and recreate that. There's a bunch of tool kits available on the web like rmxtools, Android pc toolbox, etc that can do the work for you from Windows. Google's your friend

Are there specific forums for each of the builds, Tesla, CarbonROM, PixelExperience, DirtyUnicorn, etc... or are they all reported here? And what things are helpful for me to report on?

That's partially why we are exploring this option in Android development. So for now let's keep all the bug reports for AG builds in this 1 thread. And if it's patches that can help it then we can do that here otherwise some bug reports will end up having to go to the ROMs themselves
I'm sorry to bother you , I say that because I don't know slot about roms to pc at all. I DO flash roms and root most of my phones so I at least get that .I have a computer I would like to try this on and frankly don't mind to test builds for you guys if you can teach me . Check the resources listed on the project readme. There is documentation that includes install guides, troubleshooting tips, etc. For the easiest method of testing, I recommend using the included .exe installer from Windows, then follow this method to boot into it:
On all these AG builds with Brave Browser in them. They don't allow you to turn on rewards feature.
I have disabled the provided Brave Browser, Installed Brave Beta, and/or Brave Nightly, and still cannot turn on rewards feature in these builds.
I am sure this falls to the bottom of the bottom of the list of issues.
Anyway, just curious.

I have tried Bromite browser, but it is not as good with working across all the devices. Many can't play video with it and the google webview we include for x86/x86_64

Thank you for the reply,
Brave browser let's you earn rewards, mainly by showing certain approved ads.
In DirtyUnicorns, and CarbonROM, (for example) the ability to turn this on is not there in the Brave Browser settings, even with the latest updates.
The Rewards Triange is missing, and there is no setting to turn it on.
I have even disabled, and installed both the Beta version and the nightly versions in these builds, but still cannot turn this feature on. So its something in the builds preventing this feature.
I don't think you need to change the browser in your builds, Brave is a good choice as a browser.
(Screenshot taken from my Galaxy Note 10+ Brave browser shows triangle. )

Here is the screenshot from DirtyUnicorns.
I was just curious if it could be enabled. Its really a minor issue overall.
Wanted to report on DirtyUnicorns issue: (Note: may be issue in other builds as well.) (First time I tried in this build).
***Do NOT Enable "DataSaver" option,
DataSaver option will crash your system. Upon reboot it reactivates, since you can't turn it off, and stays at boot animation.
You have been warned... get ready to reload and start over if you activate DataSaver.

If you're not able to install using bootable USB method, try the Windows .exe installer method as that is what I use for most of my personal testing.
