disable location tracking?

I'm trying to help a friend to root his NST. If I remember correctly, in the initial google setup screen there are two radio boxes for setting (google) location tracking.
Questions:
#1: If I do not allow location tracking, would I still able to enable google market?
#1(a): If I first disallow location and find that I cannot enable market, what can I do to reset this? Can I e.g. simply run TouchNooker again to reroot the device?
#2: If I do allow location in the setup, is there a way to disable it later? The nook tool app, unlike the normal google setting, has no option for changing location tracking.
THANKS!

[Q] clicking share button on some Google apps directly taking to gmail app

Hello
I'm using lg nexus 4 , running stock android kitkat 4.4 (not rooted), from few days I'm getting a issue when I press share button on some Google apps such as (Chrome, Google Drive, Play store , Play news stand and YouTube ) I was redirecting directly to gmail app instead of getting list of apps to share with .
And some other Google apps are working fine such as keep .
For temporary solution I disabled gmail app and using inbulit email app .
Please help me if anyone knows how to fix it.
@vikasreddy830 good question, should be an error with the ShareActionProvider handled in the framework-res.apk .. if i remember right?!
i think you can reset it via:
'Reset app preferences' under Settings->Apps->(menu, the three dots in the corner)

[Q] Why are App Privacy settings show different permissions than App Store?

Hello,
I wanted to ask a question about the difference in permissions for an app that are shown on the Play store and in App Privacy area of the setting.
For example, when I downloaded Accuweather Platinum from Play store, I was told that the app will have access to Identity, Location, and Photos/Media/Files. For Identity, it further stated that it "uses one or more of: accounts on the device, profile data."
I found it rather intrusive that a weather app would want access to my identity information, be it anything. Especially, since their privacy policy dictates that they can track user behavior on ANY site the user visits and not just on AccuWeather site.
But when I go to Settings -> App Privacy -> AccuWeahter, I only see the permissions listed as "coarse location, fine location, vibrate, keep awake" and the check boxes are there to block either one or all of them (location, vibrate, keep awake.)
Can someone please help me understand how this works. Why did Google Play mention that app will have access to my identity information and if the app really has that access, why won't App Privacy allow me to restrict that access.
Thanks
I've been trying to find out how the new google play permissions work too. I don't know what permissions have changed any more because it only lists all permissions and doesn't makr the new ones, so you have to go back to the Application settings and look at what they currently use and then, like you say, work out how they line up. I think google has succeeded in gettting people to not care anymore about permissions. Why take away the visibility and control of it all? Anyway, hope I can find something that can help. In the meantime, I just won't update apps with changed permissions.
I do have an app that now says "uses one or more of: accounts on the device, profile data." and their response was "We made changes that were required by play services and advertising network". I find that a bit hard to believe.
Edit: Having said that I just came across this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/playpermissionsexposed-fix-play-store-t2783076. You'll need to be rooted and have xposed framework installed though.

Not able to download/update apps over Mobile network

Hi All,
I am facing and issue in my new galaxy s8. I am not able to download/update apps using mobile data. However, if I use wifi I am able to download/update apps. Please note that this happens only when I download apps from Google play store. I am successfully able to download everything when I do web browsing.
So, i tried following things which I found online
1. Cleared cache/data of Google play store
2. Cleared cache/data of Google play services
3. Restore default settings
4. Made sure In settings my background data is turned on
5. Made sure my phone is not on battery saver mode
6. Change Google play store settings for auto updates every time even if i am using mobile data
But still when I click download in play store in any app,it got stuck.
Any way to solve this problem?? I don't want to factory reset now. I will do that if that is only the way. But I want to make sure that I am not doing any configuration mistakes. Please help.
Thanks in advance.
Have the exact same problem and have tried those with no success.

What email account are you using? Is the email account an @gmail.com account or a secondary service account?
I am able to solve the issue finally
Hey guys. I am able to solve the issue. Here is what I did.
1. Go to settings
2. Connections
3. Mobile networks
4. Network Mode
5. Choose the different mode than auto. I used 2g only.
6. Check if the download is working. If it works than switch back to auto. (4g/3g).
Try this. It worked for me.

Anyone having issues with not being able to disable instant apps?

Hi,
Is anyone else having issues not being able to disable instant apps in Chrome/Google search results?
(Obviously it's disabled in Settings > Apps and Notifications > Default Apps > Opening Links > Instant App (toggled off) and Instant App Preferences > Upgrade Web links (toggled off))
Yet when using Chrome/Google search and look for instance anything on twitter, it will open Twitter no matter what. This only is an issue in Chrome/Google widget. Firefox is fine.
Steps to reproduce Issue:
OP8 Pro with OOS 10 or OOS 11, latest Google/Chrome/Play services/Twitter app installed.
1) Use chrome or google search bar widget
2) Search anything on twitter using google
3) Click the search result (a tweet for instance)
4) Link opens in Twitter app and not in Browser no matter the above settings
Setting Twitter app defaults to not open any links doesn't change the behavior.
Rebooting/Cleaning Cache/OOS Upgrade doesn't affect the behavior.
Regards
