How to flash ?
So... The whole update process will proceed in two steps. The first step is flashing the ROM in which certain features are unlocked (required for flashing custo ROM). Performance of the system, its working, etc have not been changed. The second and last step concerns flashing Custom ROM.
! REMEMBER! Everything you do at your own risk.
Step 1 !
a) Download ROM and Flash tool
b) Run "HWDiagnosticApp (##2846579#) ", turn on "Diag settings" and reset phone.
c) Run Flash Tool , select ROM file / Config XML and click "Scan && Download".
d) Now your phone should reset and start in download mode.
If your phone does not want to start the download mode, use QPST
e) When phone displays 100%, and the inscription OK. The process of flashing rom is complete. Now you need Reset the phone (press power button on 15 sec or remove battery). Flash tool displays information about the bad file FFU, just ignore it .
Step2 !
Before you begin the process of flashing Custom ROM, make sure that you have a ROM with ability to run the device in mass storage mode. If not, flash it. Also remember that after flashing Custom ROM you need perform the first start (until you see the start menu). If you already have ROM with the ability to run in mass storage mode, you can follow the below instructions.
a) Download latest ROM + WP8CRUU, link at the bottom of the page.
b) Run device in mass storage mode
c) Run WP8CRUU.exe and follow the instructions in the program.
!!Attention!!If you have Custom ROM , you only need start the phone in Mass Storage mode and flash new Custom ROM with WP8CRUU. You do not have flash everything from scratch !!
How to Enable Mass Storage Mode ?
This is very simply, when you start your phone, press "cam" + "vol -" .

Great work indeed! When you say "mass storage mode" do you literally mean USB mass storage mode (view the phone's storage as a block device)? That would be... very impressive. I'm guessing you need to reboot the phone to enter such a mode though. Alternatively, if you "just" mean Full FS Access via MTP, that's still very cool.
One thought: did you include the Samsung RPC server (so that tools written for interop-unlocked Samsung phones will work)? If not, it may be difficult to port some apps; not all the relevant parts of the registry are writable even with capability unlock (unless you modified the registry ACLs) and I can't find an arbitrary registry write function in the Huawel WINMDs (although there may be one I just didn't see; I did find a read function).

I saw read/write dword functions somewhere in Huawei apps.
Finally. This literally might be the only way to upgrade the Tracfone version since straight talk has no plans on releasing a update. Been flashing all the foreign GDR2 Huawei W1 ROMS and all work fine but don't allow me to use 3G. Really hope this project takes off and possibly a work around for users with the Tracfone branded version of the phone.

It didn't work without bricking your phone, because HTC has other hardware and other bootloader!
Please stop posting stuff in development thread if you don't know about development!
I'm sure WojtasXda will find a way to do this on all WP8 devices, BUT WAIT!

Developer Preview only check some Registry Keys then apply a key I don't remember
When you have a Interop Unlocked devices you have Developer Unlock too . So there's no problem with using Dev Preview app.
I think next preview will release in 2nd of April , Yes?

How this works?
Windows Mobile runs on your concurrent phone, so when Android is being boot up on the device, it will actually 'kick off' the RAM working concurrently on Windows Mobile and use the entire RAM for linux itself.

How to get started with Wing Linux?
- Backup your SD Card and Phone before doing anything!
We have a few cases with wiped out data, better do it, guys!
1) Go to the Wing Linux's Website
2) Get Wing Linux's 0.4.2 (here)
3) Get our very own HTC Elf/Elfin Cab (Dont Worry, what you press on the phone will be what you get!)
4) Install both Wing Linux 0.4.2 cab and the Elf cab in your storage card (So make sure you have at least 512mb free storage space in your memory card)
How to get Google Android started?
1) After installing the cab as mentioned above, go to programs, and start Wing Linux
2) Press run!
3) After seeing 20000++ lines of code, you will reach an install screen (which is blue in colour)
4) You will take sometime there as our phones do not have a physical keyboard. So wait for it to install.
5) After that, the calibration utility will start, make sure you tap the right corners of the screen (The calibration process is only ONCE, so once you click the wrong corners, good luck, we need more steps to get it back working!)
6) Android will start loading and you are ready to get blasted!

How to copy files / install apps into Android using Windows
1) Install this 'Ethernet Gadget' Drivers (In order to let the phone talk to the PC)
- It works for both Windows XP and Vista (There will be prompts here and there)
- Settings for network card
ip: 10.100.0.2
mask: 255.255.0.0
2) Download WinSCP
3) Install em!
4) Key in the following settings into WinSCP:
- Server: 10.100.0.1
- Username: root
- Password: wing
5) To install Google Android Apps
- Make sure to download the app first!
6) Put the .apks to /system/app/directory through WinSCP
- (ex: scp xxx.apk [email protected]:/system/data/)
7) Done! It will show up in the application list!

Q: Which Device Can Run This?
A: A GSM HTC Touch / It works for both Elf and Elfin (Yay!)
If you use a CDMA version of HTC Touch, please go to your Vogue forum.
Q: Is my phone Elf or Elfin?
A: Go to Start > Settings > System > Device Information > Hardware tab, if the 'RAM size' shows 64MB it's an Elf, if it shows 128MB for RAM and 256MB for Flash then it's the Elfin. (This doesn't matter as Wing Linux is able to run on both, just added this question for reference only)
Q: How big is this thing?
A: It is about 300mb (Estimated), as the image is already 250mb.
Q: My phone cant connect to the network
A: Please switch off the Sim Password on your phone using Windows Mobile first before coming into Android.
Q: How to get Data (GPRS) working on your device
A: Go to your settings menu in Android and change your APN options, you can get that from your carrier.
Q: How to re-calibrate the screen?
A: Go to storage card, than go this folder called 'linux', than open default.txt. Look for the line that says "set CMDLINE", add "reset_ts" to it.
Remember to remove that once you're satisfied with the calibration.
(If Microsoft Word asks you to save it in their format, always say no)
Q: If I am using the Herald Cab and running on the outdated 0.4pre3, how can I get the correct key mappings?

ok so i have been following this:
2) Rename the downloaded file to zImage and copy it to /Storage Card/linux
3) Modify your default.txt to have an MTYPE of 2372
4) Delete your rootfs.img file to force the installer to re-run (and to clean away any custom qwerty.kl files you may have)
5) Boot into Wing Linux and let the installer run
6) Your Key Mappings is up to date and you do not need to modify it anymore!
i get into android but keys arent mapped...

Tried to install but it seems to be hanging in an htcharald login: screen where nothing happens. When i push some buttons some letters appear but there is no key to accept apparently. Using ELF for this. Also there are multiple cabs in the Wing Linux package, one big one and a couple of smaller ones that all seem to be the same thing (if you install them they will keep telling you that they will uninstall the old version before installing.)
Any tips?
instal first the big cab and then th e herlad one...
after that donload the zimge-elf and change its name to overwritte the original...
then you have reach as far as me... you can run android, just wait
BECAUSE THE FIST LOADING IS AS SLOW AS BALLS...

Hey does anyone knows how to make the phone vibrate? I know we haven't got sound working yet but how about it to vibrate?
Sorry for my few posts asking this question but I nobody seems to have the answer
EDIT: I now have a problem with messaging, when I try opening messaging program, a window appears saying something with ONLY a button to Force close, bud I hadn't time to read :S Anybody got an idea? (I worked before I receive a SMS and sent one yesterday, but today, I couldn't get it working after several reboots)

you dont lose your wm by doing this. android must be started from within wm, so u can get ride of it by just deleting the folder.
a soft-reset on the phone will take u back to wm.

First of all Thanks a ton, for your post. I was eager to try Andriod OS. I followed your given steps and successfully was able to run Andriod but I am facing some problems, hope you can help. First problem is that my SIM does not have password, but still it says NO NETWORK (didn't remember exact error message), therefore cannot make any calls. Another problem is that when I press the end call button (the RED one) it keeps on showing a verbose view and some scrolling text after every few seconds. Whats the problem and how to rectify it?

installing #5, then #2 it says "the previous version of Wing-Linux - Board Support will be removed before the new one is installed." and when i click OK, it install but i dont see Wing- linux on programs... is this correct? im getting 1.6kb??????

- Use paid Titanium Backup to move all user app to SDCard so you will not running out of internal storage space..

eh, btw..this build is default from MIUI, none of the picture element changed, to make this build like the screen shoot, use EliteProHD theme, Minimalistic Text and System info widget
ISSUE :
since MIUI release date 18-12 there is bootloop issue in HD2 port, futureshock tell me what causing it, i tried to fix it but some user still report bootloop, so while i'm working this nand build, i found a fix, but it will take some work for your self, since this fix must be done on bootloop, in next stable release perhaps i can make this fix automatically .. i need some info how to edit some init file and make chown command run while on firts boot..
so here you go (for windows only) :
1. you need android SDK, so you can do "adb shell", download here, download USB driver from there or you can or download here (you still need android sdk to run "adb shell")
2. boot Jaws MIUI, then connect your HD2 to PC, it will ask driver, point it to USB driver you have download before..(if you have install driver correctly it will look like picture 2)
3. while your HD2 still bootloop, and windows has finish installing android HD2 driver, run command prompt (click start - run, type cmd, click ok)
4. navigate to where you save android sdk files, mine is D:/Android-SDK, so to navigate to that folder u have to type this in command prompt (look at picture 1):
C:\Documents and Settings\LESJAW>d:
D:\>cd android-sdk
D:\android-sdk>cd tools
D:\android-sdk\tools>adb shell
# chown 1000.1000 /data/system
5. it will finally end bootloop and take you to home screen

I think it`s only one way - to install stock WM 6.5 and after that you can install new Android rom, am I right?
For Example: If I try to boot in magldr to it`s menu - there is nothing will be, but only auto launching Android. It cant be stop.
Just tried another way: HD2 was connected with a cable to PC, reboot, long pressing key for magldr after it`s show up (with auto-launcher android I think) -> then menu has been shown!
How to increase internal phone storage?
Is there anyway to increase the internal phone storage just like we did previously in sd card install?
The internal phone memory sucks in nand versions and we cant install more apps.

Well it makes the topic more complete, I have never personally tried or visited teh SD card version so saves first time users of your build having to go and locate your previous release just to see screens.
is there anyway we can install the apps directly in to sd card?

From what I'm reading...
1.- Connect your phone with "debug mode" on and the "allow apps from known source" on
2.- open the program on your pc
3.- drag and drop all the apk's you want to install
4.- the program will install all of them without you having to install one by one
5.- ???
6.- PROFIT!!
It looks handy, I will subscribe to this thread in hope for later updates.
NOTE: You need Microsoft FrameNetwork 3.5 ON YOUR PC for the program to run. (You run the program on the PC, not the cellphone)

Dose this bypass the "install" prompt for every APK and just silently installs all? Or you you still have to tick "install" for each APK once the previous install has finished? Thats the only thing I wish Titanium Backup could do. I want to be able to restore everything with one click rather than baby the damn thing.

It does indeed bypass the install prompt. Just tried it out, works flawlessly and makes it very quick & efficient to test out multiple .apk's or backups that I have lying around on my computer.

Really appreciate your work and it's aim.I have downloaded this tool to my Windows XP PC in which Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 is already installed.Being a bit inexperienced I am in a dilemma when I opened the tool in my PC.The tool opens with two sections having an upper section and a bottom one.To which of these sections I have to drag and drop the apk file? Also from where I have to drag the apk file - from the PC location where the apk file is downloaded?And what you mean by 'Reinstall program that corrupted" ?When I drag and drop apk file without opting for Internal memory or Reinstall will it be installed in the ext-sdcard automatically?And lastly will you kindly give me a step by step instruction in this regard?I will be much obliged if you do it.

OK. All cutom roms will copy yours, because they are all created using your tools. And thank you for your work.
Is your rom contains new privileges that we got from WP8.1. and which allow for deeper changes in the registry? This so. (Obviously useless)
Does your rom have full access to system files? This so. (Obviously useless) (Anyway, I found a way to circumvent this and described on this forum. Sorry my mistake it no more repeats)
Does your ROM, you can choose an alternative application to operate the camera with the camera button?, This so. (Obviously useless) (useless to you, someone may like it)
I still have a few other changes that may be useless to you, but others may come in handy.
You probably are not interested in you that I found a way to add all privileges to WP8.1 on Ativie, nor useful. So much finished.

Disable Driver Signature Enforcement, then install the drivers. Works on win7, win8/8.1

1. Restart your computer and Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. (Press F1, F2, F5 or F7 when you press the power button)
2. In some cases you still can't install the driver due to errors so you install it manually from here.
3.Put your phone in 'Recovery Mode' by holding both the VolUp and Camera button, then hold the power button for 3 seconds while still holding the VolUp and Camera.
4. It is now detected in Device Manager. Click "Update Device Driver" and locate the path of the .INF driver. It will install successfully It will then install and the flashing tool will detect your phone.

its ok
just that Partition info is div then the old one on the phone ,
you get the same if you flash a gdr3 rom over a gdr1
and you always need to Hreset after a csc update .

I could do it better with full-access to the filesystem, because on device some folders are invisible (e.g. WPSystem on the sd card), but you can browse them if you know the path. So I would like to browse on my desktop first...
The flashing process went well, but now I only can connect to the store via Wi-Fi, cellular network doesn´t connect. Any suggestions ?
Edit: My cellular network seems to be broken at all: email account doesn´t sync either.

I've got the same problem recently, try editing the APN setting manually, add a new APN and insert as followed: APN-Name: "internet" , APN: "internet"
Leave all other fields blank/default.
Worked for me with o2 Germany.

i understand that you mean Setup window at first run .. but this will make the app for windows only , also you just need to run the 1st tool just once , then you can just delete it , but i'll try my best to make it easier , btw , before a day from making this thread , it was so dummy and you should add your adb dir every time to run it , as this pic : http://i.imgur.com/xbwtquz.jpg

No need for setup window, use java ini/properties file instead.
new update is out , check the changelog and Screenshot :good:
Now that the Gear has moved from Android to Tizen we need a modded version to work with SDB instead of ADB.

Are you missing a DLL file from your Java Program? I'm getting Java errors stating it can't find the main class of the file. I'm running Windows 7 32-Bit and Java 6 Standard Edition installed.
how can i use it to flash twrp or cwm img file to my phone??
Would be perfect if it had a feature to batch install apks.

just add the file you want to flash in the 1st text box called "select file to install / flash / push and then select the option from combo box

the problem is that i don't have any Tizen based device , so , even if i made it support SDB i wouldn't be able to test it lol

by batch install, he means to select multiple APKs and install them together without having to select one after another and wait for it to install.
