[03 JAN] Jaws-MIUI base on MIUI 31-12 [Kernel: Hastarin 8.6oldcam by tytung] - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

This is my first try to make a nand build, thanks to OCM for passing the knowledge and giving permissions for his kernel and initrd.gz
base on : MIUI 31-12-10
Kernel : Hastarin 8.6oldcam by tytung
Whats working :
* 3g/HSDPA
* keypad status notification
* Bluetooth
* USB mass storage
* G Sensor
* Facebook sync
* Camera/Camcorder
* Wifi
* GPS
* FM Radio
* Theme Manager
* RMNET
Whats not working:
* Tethering & Portable Hotspot (lack of kernel support), click here for third party app
* Bootanimation cannot be change by theme manager (other theme element works)
* Can't login in to https from app (zynga poker, World War, SwiftFTP etc), known MIUI bug since 2412

bootloop fix thanks to RaiderX303 , some people still report bootloop, use method below to fix bootloop .. arrrgghhh
edit : WTF..the changes i made in init.rc didn't save, thats why there is still bootloop, sorry guys..
Need Test : Bootloop fix
Download here
put this file inside JawsNand31-12 folder (replace boot.img in that folder)
Tips :
- Use paid Titanium Backup to move all user app to SDCard so you will not running out of internal storage space..
- for Wireless tether use Wireless Tethering Apk
- for USB tether use Wired Tethering.Apk
- I forgot to change Camera.apk, default Camera has no custom Video quality setting, but camcorder does work, for anyone has problem with camcorder and want to change video quality please Download here, push it to system/app or use DroidExplorer

eh, btw..this build is default from MIUI, none of the picture element changed, to make this build like the screen shoot, use EliteProHD theme, Minimalistic Text and System info widget
ISSUE :
since MIUI release date 18-12 there is bootloop issue in HD2 port, futureshock tell me what causing it, i tried to fix it but some user still report bootloop, so while i'm working this nand build, i found a fix, but it will take some work for your self, since this fix must be done on bootloop, in next stable release perhaps i can make this fix automatically .. i need some info how to edit some init file and make chown command run while on firts boot..
so here you go (for windows only) :
1. you need android SDK, so you can do "adb shell", download here, download USB driver from there or you can or download here (you still need android sdk to run "adb shell")
2. boot Jaws MIUI, then connect your HD2 to PC, it will ask driver, point it to USB driver you have download before..(if you have install driver correctly it will look like picture 2)
3. while your HD2 still bootloop, and windows has finish installing android HD2 driver, run command prompt (click start - run, type cmd, click ok)
4. navigate to where you save android sdk files, mine is D:/Android-SDK, so to navigate to that folder u have to type this in command prompt (look at picture 1):
C:\Documents and Settings\LESJAW>d:
D:\>cd android-sdk
D:\android-sdk>cd tools
D:\android-sdk\tools>adb shell
# chown 1000.1000 /data/system
5. it will finally end bootloop and take you to home screen
Picture 1
Picture 2
remember do those step while your android is bootlooping..

NOTE!
1. Update1 u don't have to edit build.prop, its rmnet, dns update automatically
2. U can used your previous data, when MAGLDR prompt you, don't erase previous data
3. For initial release : u must edit build.prop file and change ppp0.net.dns1 and dns2 to your own provider DNS, default DNS is my provider.. otherwise you will have no data
thanks to : Cotulla - for making all this possible, rajko, ocm, dan1j3l, LeTama, hastarin, huanyu, michyprima, Cass67, darkstone, ElbartoME, gauner1986, Geo411m, mattc, memin1857, NetRipper, MIUI-DEV, XDA-DEVELOPERS,MIUI.com (the Rom) .. sorry if i forget mention ur name..

I think it`s only one way - to install stock WM 6.5 and after that you can install new Android rom, am I right?
For Example: If I try to boot in magldr to it`s menu - there is nothing will be, but only auto launching Android. It cant be stop.
Just tried another way: HD2 was connected with a cable to PC, reboot, long pressing key for magldr after it`s show up (with auto-launcher android I think) -> then menu has been shown!

How to increase internal phone storage?
Is there anyway to increase the internal phone storage just like we did previously in sd card install?
The internal phone memory sucks in nand versions and we cant install more apps.
anybody has any ideas?
thanks.

Well it makes the topic more complete, I have never personally tried or visited teh SD card version so saves first time users of your build having to go and locate your previous release just to see screens.

is there anyway we can install the apps directly in to sd card?

INSTALLATION GUIDE
1) START HERE IF YOU JUST BOUGHT THE PHONE:
- Download and install usb drivers for your phone: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Ap...&SC=EMEA_27
- Flash a recent bin (I suggest the 39 'cause it has an updated baseband); you can download it from here: http://tinyurl.com/34tq4yp; somone else suggests the 09... you can download it from here: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/OS...amp;SC=EMEA_17)
- Afer following the instructions you'll have an up to date bin.
2) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM BUT WITHOUT MALEZ RECOVERY
- It's time to install the malez recovery
- If you didn't, install your USB drivers now...: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Ap...&SC=EMEA_27
- Download the malez recovery 0.5.4: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9
- unzip the archive and click install-recevery-windows.bat while your phone is ON
- Your phone will reboot several times during this process
3) START HERE IF YOU'VE GOT AN UPDATED ROM AND THE MALEZ RECOVERY
- Almost done...
- Download ROM LS 2.1 (you'll find the links below)
- Connect your phone to the computer, activate the date-exchange by usb (once you've plugged in your phone a notification will appear, tap it)
- Copy the downloaded file in the main directory of your SD Card (Without extracting it) [Please Note: You've to copy this file in the MAIN DIRECTORY not in a sub-folder]
- Reboot your phone in recovery mode (If you did pass trought 'point 2', you'll find, in the malez recovery's pack, the file "reboot to recovery.bat" doubleclick it with your phone plugged in by usb, if you didn't, well, its better to download it from the point 2 or from this link if you're to lazy to scroll the page up: http://www.multiupload.com/402AVV1SI9 .
- Once you're on recovery's main screen you'll have to move through its menu by Volume UP/Volume Down buttons
- Go to "Flash/Test menu" and press the MENU button (the last touch button of your acer liquid, the one with three stripes)
- Press Menu once more
- Go to SDCARD:LS2.1 and press MENU
- press HOME (bottom left) and wait for the process to end
- Once this installation ends press BACK (the "<" button) to go back to the main menu, then press MENU to reboot your phone.
- If you want to delete added aps (the ones in /data) and to have a clean ROM it's the moment to do a "Wipe Data Factory", obviously the widgets of the removed apps won't work and you'll have to delete them from your home. I suggest to keep them cause they're very useful.
4) START HERE IF YOU ALREADY INSTALLED THE ROM LS
- Congratulations!
- The first boot will last a bit more than the usual, don't worry.
- Once you're phone is on, select your language and follow the setting wizard
- Once the wizard finised go to the apps menu and open LSsettings
- Here you can set the touchscreen sensitivity and many other things
- If you'd like to install the theme pack or an OC kernel (if you don't know what an oc kernel is don't install it, you don't need to); you'll find links below; every pack has got a README file explaining how to install it
- Tip: select HTC_IME keyboard by holding a textbox
- Once you've set the ROM reboot your phone.
- Now The ROM LS is installed and ready to use! Have Fun!
NOTES
- Once you've turned on your phone, tap the taskmanager widget to end every app you dont need
- Don't WIPE your phone after the installation or you'll lose every added app. If you accidently wipe it, simply re-flash this ROM.
- App + Data on SD may causes really problems to the system. Please, choose app on SD only
IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION, SIMPLY ASK HERE! WE'LL BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU!

Thanks Suxsem
I faced with one small but very distressing problem. During typing SMS message I pushed Erase button several times and quickly. As result - a message receved by itself unfinished.(It happened again when I tested if i was wrong)
I newer saw this problem in LS 2.0. What's wrong with this one?

Don't be sorry for your English, at least you try and we understand you just fine
I am using this ROM and have been since the release and it's as stable as they get. I recommend it my friend!
It does have Camera app.. was that your question?
hi Lain & Suxem this rom is really fast and stable,
there is a way to enable compcache in this rom at boot ?? or tiny swap??
thanks and really appreciate your hard work!!!
for me any overclock kernel broke compcache!!!!!!!!!!!
can someone help me?
I like this ROM...!!!!
thx suxem..
Sorry, double post..
my internet is slow..
the best work i've seen for an android phone !
themes apps overclocking.... everything sounds perfect
the only problem i am having is with launcher pro ! i have the app for the plus version and i cant install it with astro or any other file manager !
any solution for this
you use the unlock launcher pro plus from the preferences
if your trying to use an older version that you downloaded then not much i can do to help with that
i tried and its asking for a paypal account !!!!
yes
you understand that launcher pro plus is something you have paid for??
meaning that if you didnt pay for it you wont be able to unlock it?
that is not a bug and if your trying to get the pro version for free - that is why the app maker changed the way the pro version works and is no longer a seperate apk
so you cant steal pro anymore
pay for it or stop whining - its not a bug
i already paid for the app and i have a backup of the paid apk... thats why i want to use it and not pay for it again ... hope u can understand that
thanks for your work again..... but u have to work on your people skills
- App + Data on SD may causes really problems to the system. Please, choose app on SD only
how cn I use app on sd only?pls tellthanks
thanks man. i contacted the developer and he fix my account issue
still i think this is the best and most complete work for an android phone
yaseramin: open the LS program in the menu. choose APP2SD
Does the LS2.1 support Chinese language???
Hiya... I'm just wondering if this rom will support chinese language overall n is my current rom (Acer_LiquidE_1.100.09_AAP_GEN2) compatible to this? Beside, will it be possible to return to the stock rom afterward?
Much appreciate for your effort on this LS2.1 and looking forward for your advise, thx~

[BUILD]★09.29.2010★HyperDroidSenseV1.1★EVO★Hastarin# 4.1★F ast & Optimized,Minimalist★
Welcome to the HyperDroidSense: The Ultimate Sense Android Build for the HD2!
Kernel version:
Hastarin#4.1 - Kindly built & optimized by hastarin (Check his thread for changelog and source code)
This is based on the latest Over The Air (OTA) Update for the HTC EVO. Thanks to phiredrop, mdeejay and mattc (1st EVO based builds I learned from) & myn for the Stock EVO OTA Update
First Boot Notes:
* First Boot will take about 20 minutes (or seem like it or longer) as the data.img is being unpacked.
* New EVO kernel uses the logo.rle in the initrd.gz (Black HTC Splash) that stays on while the Build "does its thing in the background"
* During setup, you may see that the "phone process" Force Closes (FC's) as a result of APN's now being Set during initial Setup
* If you rename the Buildfolder Android or anything else, DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE THE startup.txt OR ELSE you will not be able to boot properly.
If you don't like Sense, Feel Free to try my CM6 Based Build... The HyperDroid which can be found right HERE!
Features
* Deodexed
* Rooted
* Interactive and Powersave schedulers (Thanks to Hastarin)
* Perflock disabled (for underclocking via SetCPU) (Thanks to Hastarin)
* Market Fixed
* Zipaligned
* No Boot Sound
* Cool Blue Droid Eye to match the Rest of the Theme
* MattedBlues by Jabbawalkee Themed
Code:
Note: Due to its Bleeding Edge Nature, Some stuff may not work as you might expect.
Please follow the Bug Reporting Process I outlined on the thread.
Just to be sure, here it is right here:
How To File a Bug Report with Logcat:
Install android sdk
Install drivers for adb on PC
connect phone to PC
open cmd.exe
type 'adb logcat' without the quotes
start the app that causes the issues
wait for the app to close or get to the error
copy logcat contents and put in pastebin
copy pastebin links here
OR
Install "alogcat" from Market
Run it to get log until your Issue pops up
copy logcat contents and put in pastebin
copy pastebin links here
Before filing a bug report, please consider the answer to these:
1. Is the bug reproducible?
2. How do you reproduce it?
3. What is the expected behavior?
4. What actually happens?
5. Do you have a Task Killer running?
6. Are you on the default Kernel?
7. Did you restore using Titanium Backup?
Info Needed:
1. Are you using the default kernel? Y or N
2. If using a custom kernel are you loading the correct bcm4329.ko and tun.ko? Y or N
3. Are you using a fresh data.img created by the system on 1st boot? Y or N
3. Are you using the default Build Folder Name that came with your version? Y or N
What's New?

Tips & Tricks:
Code:
Everything may not initialize properly on first boot. Reboot twice after the first successful boot.
Use all the defaults (including build folder name and kernel) before changing anything.
On First Boot, Install then Open Spare Parts and Disable Compatibility Mode to get Full Screen Apps in Older Apps that don't scale
Fully Charge while Device is Off before first boot, then upon first boot go to terminal and enter these (without the quotes) and press enter after every line.
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
Ensure that Keypad Lights are on when Haret is launched.
Fixes:
To fix dialer from adding 011 every time a "+" precedes a number dialed, please refer to this.
Please read through the instructions on fixing the 011 bug... Its Right ABOVE THIS Sentence.
To get data working:
1. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
2. Press the menu button and choose "New APN"
3. Enter your provider-specific information (Google for CyanogenMod APN as they have a whole list there)
4. Press menu and select "Save"
5. Press the radius button next to your new APN and you're good to go!
*Note: Data is quite picky on this build as its originally a 4G ROM and CDMA... If it doesn't work for you, then hopefully the next update fixes it.
The 3 Hyper Rules:
Rule#1 Please read & follow Instructions before reporting unknown bugs on the thread (Known Issues will not be responded to... If you're smart enough to load Android on your HD2, you're smart enough to search and read the stickied information) and not by PM... PM's will be ignored
Rule#2 If It can fixed, I will do my best to fix It... No Promises...
Rule#3 The Next Build will be released when its ready... No ETA's
Please Follow the Instructions:
1. Please read the OP... this serves as the README for this 1st build... next builds will have it included in the Zip.
2. Please Copy the HyperDroidSense Folder to the root of your SD card.
3. Run clrcad (to enable sound) THEN run haret (which will close the WinMo kernel and load Android).(OR do it Automatically by Using Exceller's Android Loader, which I highly recommend and use myself to Quad-Boot)
3. Wait about 15-20 minutes for the device to initialize
You want to use another Android loader? Simply rename the folder to Android and change the startup.txt to reflect the change... after booting successfully for the 1st time and letting the device "simmer" (e.g. "rel_path=Android")
Notes:
* Backup the data.img that comes with the build as creating a new data.img is NOT recommended
* If some apps don't look the way they should, download LCD Density app from market and change to default 240.
* The Blue Wallpaper may not be set by default... Go into /system/customize/resources and copy SPC_Wallpaper and set as Wallpaper using Astro
What's TESTED & working:
WiFi
USB Transfers (surprised it worked myself)
G-Sensor (Goodbye Freezing on PPP)
Bluetooth
GPS
Wi-Fi
PPP Data (3G + HSDPA)
LED Lights Notifications
What's NOT working:
EVOCamera Flash (kernel support is being looked into) turns pics with flash Black
Native Android Camcorder Crashes (Use EVO Camcorder instead)
4G and Sprint Specific Menus will NOT Work
Data (Out of the Box) does not work UNTIL you Manually enter your APN
Enabling and Disabling the Mobile Data Crashes the com.android.phone process (most probable cause is the CDMA origins of EVO builds)
Don't complain in the thread why any of the 5 things above don't work since its on the OP.
What could be working but has not been Tested:
MMS (Since I use WiFi only, I'm not able to test MMS Properly)
Wi-Fi Tethering (ditto)
USB Tethering (ditto)

About this Build/Release:
In the spirit of the open source community, allow me to share and give back to something I enjoy participating in--- Tweaking my Gadgets to Death... yes, to death...
I am not a developer nor do I aim to be called as such. I believe this should be reserved for the real people who do the work behind the scenes and in the trenches of kernel hacking.
I am an extreme gadget enthusiast or simply a Gadget Geek... The work I do is to put together bits and pieces of what works and what looks good to create a gadget experience that is elegant, polished, minimalist and functional (E-P-M-F).
From my HyperROM WinMO ROM roots to today, I've always liked using and sharing a ROM that meets my E-P-M-F aspirations for a gadget. Today I bring you my personal twist on an Android ROM based on the latest EVO OTA Update (3.29.651.5)
Build Features:
1GB Data Image (included)
Latest Overclocked and Undervolted Stable Kernel by hastarin
Custom Modded Theme and Apps
Useful Tools/Utilities Included and easily updateable or removable
Changing Kernels:
Want to try out the latest and greatest kernels from GIT?
1. rename zImage to workingzImage
2. copy new zImage to "/HyperDroidSense" directory on the sdcard
3. copy bcm*.ko and Tun.ko to "/HyperDroidSense/root/system/lib/modules" on the sdcard (create the paths if its not there)
I sincerely hope you enjoy your HD2 as much as I have... Android has literally given my device a new lease on life...
Enjoy the HyperDroidSense for your HD2!

thats what i was thinking, i hope he releases in a little tho lol i wanna test it out at school tommarow! but i shall be patient
i was hoping the same thing i wanna be able to dl before the site goes down for maintenance
I very like your build thank you
UPDATE: This short review is based on the release prior to releasing it to mass public. At this time, Pongster has only release to testers to ensure everything is working perfectly. A link to DL this build will be posted shortly.
---
Can't wait to try this build. I'll do a report soon.
Just Tested:
0) Use the stock data.img after extracting the folder.
1) Music does NOT studder like in Mattc's 1.0.1 evo build. I love music. It's a high priority.
2) Speed: It's fast and speedy and on par with the 1.5 hyperdroid build, however, though it chokes here and there more often.
3) Stability: Yet to confirm, but its stable so far for me. No crashes yet. Jayy got a "acore" crash. Poor you.
4) Quadrant scrore was at 1682. Nick got scores at 1700+
5) Upload and download speeds via wifi: 5.3Mb/p and 3.7Mbp/s It's good enough for me for regular browsing wifi.
**6) the stock 180dpi is very bad. everything is misaligned. i already confirmed with 3 other people (jay, nick, and robert). You must revert back to 240 for the best alignment, but for a working one, 200 "almost" fixes it.
Good build so far. but has a bit of improvements to work on.
I like the speed of it so far though
just waiting to dl another build of yours..
thanks for your great work

Here is the beginnings of a port of milaq+nadlabak's CM6 for Milestone A853 to the Milestone XT720. This port came primarily out of these two threads: 1, 2
The ROM here is based on combining say's CM6 port for Motoroi with an initial source build I've been working on with help from stlifey. It's based on milaq's 0.10 release with manual bugfixes. It is usable but has some quirks and rough edges.
The next step is to incorporate those manual fixes into my build tree, figure out how to fork the git repositories in my local repo, and upload a working build tree to github.
Recommended: CM 6.3.7 See post #1224
I need to update and rework this entire post, but I haven't had time yet.
initial backport of CM7 lockscreens (namelessjedi)
power menu screenshots work
stock Motorola Camera/Camcorder (brianlili, peshovec)
720p video recording (brianlili)
improved xt720mod.sbf support
updated gapps package
odex and deodex versions provided (odex recommended for users)
The install procedure is similar to CM 6.3.0-RC3 but use the files from post #1224 and follow the additional instructions there to apply the 720p recording fix.
Themes for previous versions are incompatible and must be updated.
See molohov's theme thread for compatible themes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24435398

CM 6.3.0-RC3 Fixes camera/camcorder crashes that appeared in RC2
Because of the camera and camcorder problems with RC2, I've now rebuilt using Motorola's media libraries again. I think this restores camera. Camcorder also works now with a higher quality than before. We need to get to get a media_profiles.xml that works better for our phone. In RC3, I just took the one from milaq's A853.
Known issues in CM 6.3.0-RC3:
FM Radio doesn't work
Gallery button doesn't work
Camcorder doesn't work well
Screenshot in power menu always produces a black image
Changes since CM 6.1.2
Android Keyboard is fixed (Thanks peshovec)
Torch/power-widget uses autofocus led
Linear vibration for haptic feedback vibrations <150ms
Selecting 1% battery increments is harmless (but doesn't work)
Wi-Fi fixes (now works for the AP I was having trouble with)
Korean IME removed (can provide as update if needed)
USB menu has been updated with new translations and resource fixes (Usb.apk)
Reboot recovery from the power menu works.
Hold volume-down during boot to enter fastboot
Bug fixes to app2ext and link2sd support
app2ext is nolonger automatic (you must create /sd-ext/app directory).
Link2SD support (you must create /sd-ext/link2sd directory)
ext4 supported for /sd-ext.*
You can read more about the other changes between 0.10 and 6.3.0 on milaq's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155454 and in the github. Some A853 features (esp. ones that use kernel modules) are not included yet.
*Note about ext4 support: the huge_file option is *not* supported but is default for mkfs.ext4. Nadlabak explained how to disable huge_file on existing ext4 filesystems. Alternately just create ext2/3 partitions and use OpenRecovery-XT720 SD Card Utilities to upgrade the ext2 partition to ext4. Warning: the other OpenRecovery/Androidiani's don't understand ext4 on XT720 (thanks fjfalcon for adding ext4 support to OR for XT720). Also be aware that not many XT720 ROMs understand ext4 yet--hellmongers XDAspecial RC2 *does*.
For more information about changes see See post #605 and the github source.

Themes:
sileshn's themes for milaq's CM 6.3.2 are reported to work in RC2 with the caveat that the reboot to bootloader menu option disappears from the power menu. None of the changes in RC3 should change that. I don't think I've seen reports either way about sileshn's themes for XT720 CM 6.1.2 yet.

CM 6.1.2 Notable issues:
Do not select 1% battery increments (see post #7) (became a placebo button in 6.3.0-RC2)
The default keyboard has very, very small keys. You can select the Korean keyboard or download another. (fixed in 6.3.0-RC2, thanks peshovik!)
FM Radio does not exist and will not work.
Video recording not extensively tested -- but, hey, it doesn't crash the phone immediately anymore.
Gallery button does nothing
Haptic feedback is not pleasant when enabled (first attempt at using linear vibrator in 6.3.0-RC2)
RomManager is dangerous on XT720 (not included in 6.3.0-RC1,2)
Reboot recovery goes to motorola's recovery (fixed in 6.3.0-RC1)

Thanks! Don't waste time on the radio yet, it won't work because to compile CM6, I had to use A853's libaudio.so which lacks radio support. After the source tree is fixed we can figure out how to use the XT720 libaudio.so

Yeah, but when I call something alpha, it's merely hopefully working. When you call something an alpha it's something more like a release candidate. I think this still has a way to go, but everyone in the other threads got pretty persistently insistent on starting releases. I'll dogfood it.
ok just found out the hard way, do not select 1% battery increments, or it doesnt recognise it bein charged at all. just showed red battery with [X] and would turn off. when plugged in it said charging 0%. so stay away from that option. :/ atleast it stayed on while plugged in so i could undo it and now charging 60%.
So the ROM is not "nandroid" but "update" based ?
Any suggestions as if I should go back to an original 2.1 SBF ?
Any feedback/review on raw performance and performance degraduation (memory leaks and such) over time ? Battery life ?
Thnaks for the effort !

as long as you didnt flash a Korean sbf to start with your fine, just apply in OR. and the roms pretty quick, give it a shot. the customization is huge. im loving the full 360 degree rotation, ive been waiting a long time for that haha opens every app almost instantly, it boots fast, i got 1220 on quadrant at 1 ghz, but the only thing i miss is the built in task killer when holding home. that came in handy. im still testing performance, its lookin good tho. well worth a try, i know ive been waiting to taste some delicious cyanogenmod. and boy is it good. haha
thanks your job and hint
Wow! MilestoneXT720 also port CM6.
CM7 solve problems for the future hope to be.
Congratulations! And thanks your job and hint.

For the moment everything is working great (expect the keyboard but it s not a big deal i ll install a new one)
Mioze7Ae for the haptic feedback i found a menu in settings / cyanogen mod / input settings which can let you set up the duration of the feedback.... You can make it as smooth as you want!!!
Someone test the apps to ext (or sd)???
It show me my ext 3 is totally empty (with file explorer).... Is there a way to make my apps work or i have to reinstall them all????
For me the only issue is the apps to ext that doesn t work...
Someone have an apk or un update for the dark tremor a2SD ???? It must be the solution

GingerZaraki Bugs List & Solutions

OK LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT FOR YA!
You were probably thinking how this thread is much similar to my GDX Bugs List & Solutions thread. Trust me... for these ROMs, I would compare them to the following ways:
GingerDX - Feature Complete
GingerZaraki - Lightspeed!!
See this thread passed on by original creator Lloir, then to SpyderX, and now to me. Basically this thread is showing all the bugs that appeared in GingerZaraki. So dont ever go off topic in here. I am being serious here.
I want to say thank you to my great buddy RohinZaraki for this amazing ROM!! You ROCKKKKKKKKKK!
................................................
WHY MUST YOU USE THIS ROM??
................................................
- Very speedy ROM that will make your jaws drop!
- Frequent updates!
- Almost all of the bugs in this ROM are just minor bugs.
- Perfect for people looking for good battery life so they could msg their girlfriends (or boyfriends) more...
- So, are you interested? I bet you are... try out now!!
OFFICIAL THREAD
- Also, we are helping people in the IRC channel, [email protected], so we could do with some more helpers
................................................
MY GOAL!!
................................................
This is the exact same thing I wrote in another threas because I really really want to emphasize it. So dont complain.
Before you continue into the next part, please READ HERE!
Of course, my goal is to provide help to people who are having problems with bugs and installation. If you reading this now, please sticky this to your brain cells:
- Ask your questions here, rather than spamming the GingerZaraki thread!! I understand that Rohin gets very annoyed for reading stupid posts...
................................................
BUGS LIST & SOLUTIONS...
...............................................
(X) means confirmed.
(?) means not confirmed.
................................................
:: v10 FINAL Bugs ::
................................................
WiFi:
Believe me, when I say that WiFi issues are present on all ROMs. Let's face it, I've personally never encountered a ROM with WiFi as stable as that of stock 2.1, but let's deal with it. Remember: Custom ROMs are NOT perfect so don't be picky.
WiFi stays on: "Connecting...", but nothing is happening. (X)
Solution: Erase all saved networks, then connect again.
WiFi turns off when I lock screen. (X)
Solution: Not actually a bug, just go into WiFi settings --> Advanced --> Set sleep policy to never.
WiFi connects but doesn't allow data transfer. (X)
Solution: As there are many possible causes to this problem, try the following:
1. Make sure that your firewall/iptables settings are not blocking the WiFi.
2. Ensure that your router is functional and correctly routing internet traffic.
3. Enter the browser and load a few pages. If there is a login screen, LOGIN as that's the problem.
4. Disconnect and reconnect again.
5. Reconfigure your router (factory reset your router) -- ESPECIALLY MAKE SURE THAT MAC FILTERING ISN'T BLOCKING YOUR PHONE.
6. Try different types of encryption.
7. Complete reinstall of GZR.
WiFi tethering -- whole host of potential problems. (X)
Solution: Use a 3rd party app from the Play Store to tether instead.
WiFi shows "Error". (X)
Solution: This has many possible causes. Check the below:
1. Make sure you flashed Alfs FOR CM7, not the GDX version.
2. Make sure you did flash the Alfs addon.
3. Make sure you full-wiped.
3. Reflash kernel and GZR.
................................................
Kernel Issues:
Now 2 kernels are GZR-supported-- Alfs-CM7 kernel v8a/ v9a & nAa 14 (Though Alfs v8a is recommended because of kernel bugs). Each version has its pros and cons. So see below..
Auto brightness on AlfsV09a with Cypress digitizer is not working even after using the autobrightness fix both dt and no_dt. (X)
Solution: Do the same thing as above again, but this time, using Alfsv8.
Occasionally the screen has a problem in which it is shifted to the right. (X)
Solution: Don't overclock or don't OC to 691MHz. Then reboot.
Screen-cut (Alfsv9a) {Hitachi screens only} What happens is that the screen looks glitched up/distorted. (X)
Solution: Lock and unlock your phone OR revert back to Alfsv8a.
Reboot when plugging in phone to the computer in USB debugging mode and related stuff. (X)
Solution: Flash Alfsv9a OR revert back to Alfsv8a.
In call proximity sensors are not working on Alfs v9a. (X)
Solution: Flash the LibSensors patch from Alfs kernel thread.
Brightness setting is not working on Alfs v9a. (X)
Solution: Switch to Alfs V08a.
................................................
Others:
Screenshot will force close after a few times doing it, or sometimes directly. (X)
Solution: Try enabling Share Screenshots setting in Settings > Cyanogenmod Settings > Interface.
................................................
Notice:
1. Please don't blame me for not listing any bugs here. Please report and confirm bugs here. Bear it in mind, you are not helping me, you are helping everyone that have a X8/W8 and using GingerZaraki! Please read second post (courtesy to SpyderX) before posting.
2. No spam please! This thread is only for reference, I'm not asking Rohin to fix anything at all.
3. GingerZaraki... the lightest ROM I ever experienced... Please subscribe for future updates.
4. Hit the THANKS button to support me!!

Oh and for dummies:
Use the app aLogcat from Market to get your LOGCAT.
To get the logcat in a text file called logcat.txt on your sdcard, type this commands in terminal emulator
Code:
su
cat /dev/log/system > /sdcard/logcat.txt
And for a dmesg, here is the code to enter in terminal emulator:
Code:
su
cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/dmesg.txt
Any questions about GingerZaraki, attach and post both the logcat and the dmesg here along with a detailed description of your problem and any tweaks you have added etc. Refer to first post.
well im so sorry for making a typo
Thanks for this will link it to the OP
Proximity Sensor & A2SD Settings
Updated to version 4 of this great rom with Alfs v8a.(i did a clean install; full wiped before installing new version) I had following problems:
1) Proximity sensor was not working. I had to flash Libsensors available with alfs kernell.
2) Could not fond a2sd settings in location where they were is previous versions:
i.e. Cyanogenmod sett..>Performance> A2sd settings
the apps not going to sd-ext partition. In previous version of the rom, all apps moved automatically to sd-ext and my internal phone memory remained unchanged.
Please let me know your opinion regarding this.

Rohin maight have forgotten to add in some code that he normally does. It appears that the a2sd script is not in your current ROM.
Check if there is a file called a2sd in /system/xbin/ or /system/bin
I have checked and found "a2sd" file in system/bin. File not found in system/xbin

Ok I did this and then a reboot. More internal memory now available BUT the apps in internal memory are no longer available like Google play store is not available now. The apps that i previously moved to SD card manually are available. How to restore play store?

Flash gapps for gingerbread, search on Google for it. This is strange as play store is meant to be in /system/app, not internal storage (/data/app)
Edit:
This is the link I think: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

Have you reconfigured your router such that it can connect to the internet? Check your router user manual for instructions.

DEFINITIVE SOLUTION TO IMPROVE THE AUDIO ON OUR PHONE
The solution for the audio on our phone. The file was posted by Pika on XDA and is nothing more than the baseband of ICS, I confirm that the B927 version works perfectly in my rom, but others might work the B928. Try them both if the first does not go. This is the procedure:
1) Make a backup of your "amss.mbm" on your PC (you can find it with root explorer to the path .cust_backup / image)
2) Download the file "amss.mbn" and place it in your microSD
3) Start rootexplorer
4) Move the "amss.mbn" file in the root to change the permissions
5) Set the permissions of the file in this way: "rwxrwxrwx"
6) Move the file to the location. "Cust backup / image" and replace the existing
7) Reboot the phone.
Is important to set the permissions correctly, or the phone may not start. In the event that the phone would not boot and go in infinite loop, connect to the PC with the phone turned off, press both volume keys and power and you will access the pink screen. At that point you can try with another file or restore your previously saved file for getting your phone working. Who does the procedure, it takes only advantages in audio call, the unfortunate who does not work, do not ask why because it sconosce why. There are probably other terminals in this too.
The file can be found here:
BASEBAND B927
BASEBAND B928
KNOWN BUGS:
You can not use third-party cameras, if they are installed you are able to do the photos, but without preview on the display, and this is the malfunction. The default camera pre-installed is great and works well.

I have done it!!! You must be quick to pull down the "power widget", after you selected the screenshot.
You can see my screenshot in the first post, but that are of the italian version. Anyway.... for the chinese caracters, i know in which file are, and i'm studing how find it inside the file, and if i find it, i remove it, but is very difficult....if someone know use an hex editor, can contact me in private, and i explain what he must do to remove them.

Here's mine:
I confirm that the file posted by pika, it works perfectly in my rom (based on that of Shendu)
This is the procedure to follow:
1) Save the file "amss.mbn" in your microSD
2) Open rootexplorer on the phone
3) Move the file "amss.mbn" in the root to change the permissions
4) Set the permissions of the file in this way: "rwxrwxrwx"
5) Move the file to the location. "Cust backup / image" and replace the existing one
6) Restart the phone
Is important to set the permissions correctly, or the phone may not start. Perhaps this is the error that have users that does not work ....
You can find the file here: BASEBAND B927

Guys, thanks to FeWoR who helped me, now we no longer have the Chinese characters in the date ......
For those who have already installed the rom, no need to flash again, I created the update file, so no one can miss it. Just go to recovery and flash like a rom, but without any wipe.
The file can be found on the first page.
